Family Isn\u27t Always Blood
No full textWHY THIS SUBEJCT? The topic of multi racial families and the bias they go through is on a personal level to me. I wanted to shine light on this topic and spread normalcy. In regards to the title, some people traditionally see family as blood related. It\u27s important to understand that if the person is being loved and cared for that\u27s what matters.
WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW? I decided to go with a grey muted tone to further make the red border more impactful. The red border is in regards to what the lady behind the counter is thinking towards the black child. Like she is noticing the differences between the two, but still acting against it.

Fight Like Girls
No full textWHY THIS SUBJECT? I wanted to do this subject because it is something that I noticed exists a lot during elementary school. The term “like a girl” has been used aa a condescending term at a very young age. I wanted to show how a girls power isn’t demeaning, but rather powerful.
WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW ABOUT THE WORK? I wanted to create a “sponsored” work for one of the women equality organizations that I know of, which is AWID, Association for Women’s Rights In Development. This would be something that I think would look great as a sticker or pin and I would want to advocate it not only as a poster, but as other mediums as well.
WHAT WAS YOUR PROCESS? I first started out by creating a Pinterest board of the styles and colors that I wanted to use in my poster. I wanted to do something that looked very comic and flat.
