WHAT CONSIDERATIONS SHOULD THE SCHOOLS OR TEACHERS TAKE INTO ACCOUNT WHEN IMPLEMENTING ENGLISH-INDONESIAN BILINGUAL PROGRAM IN THEIR SCHOOLS?
Get PDFEnglish-Indonesian bilingual education (BE) program has been implemented in Indonesia for several decades, starting from primary school to tertiary education both by public and private educational institutions. Unfortunately, many stakeholders have questioned about the result of the implementation of the program in Indonesian schools especially in public or government schools. APPROACH OF RECIPROCAL TEACHING AS THE SOLUTION FOR AN ENGLISH READERS
Get PDFThe objectives of this research were to find out whether or not reciprocal teaching technique improve the students’ reading skill of the tenth-grade students of class X 1 at SMA Negeri 4 Makassar. This research applied a pre-experimental with pre-test and post-test design. The population was the tenth-grade students of class X 1 at SMA Negeri 4 Makassar, in 2023/2024 academic year. The population consisted of 49 students where the sample was taken by using purposive sampling technique. The research data were collected by pre-test and post-test on speaking test and analyzed by using IBM SPSS 23 version to see the significant difference between pre-test and post-test. The results of the research were the application of reciprocal teaching technique significantly improved the students’ reading skill. The researcher concluded that reciprocal teaching can be the alternative choice for teaching English at SMA (Senior High school).The objectives of this research were to find out whether or not reciprocal teaching technique improve the students’ reading skill of the tenth-grade students of class X 1 at SMA Negeri 4 Makassar. ENHANCING STUDENTS’ WRITING ABILITY THROUGH BLENDED LEARNING AT SMA NEGERI 4 MAKASSAR
Get PDFThis study aimed to determine to enchance the students’ ability in writing narrative text through blended learning of class Xl-5 students of SMAN 4 Makassar in writing narrative texts using the blended learning method. This study used a pre-experimental method. The Subject of this study were students of class Xl-5 at SMAN 4 Makassars emester in the academic year 2022/2023, with a sample of 34 students. Data collection was narrative text through offline and online. The research data collected through the test showed that the student's writing ability after the research was conducted, students were more interested in using the blended learning method in writing narrative texts. Based on the results of the data analysis, it can be seen that the student's results in the offline pre-test were 49.03. Then after getting treatment, the students' pre-test scores increased to 79.47 in the post-test. While the students' results in the online pre-test were 52.18, and after getting treatment, the students' pre-test scoreincreased to 89.15 in the post-test. It can be concluded that students' writing skills are improved in the online learning.So it can be concluded that using the blended learning method can improve students' learning ability in writing narrative texts at SMAN 4 Makassar

Pengaruh Teknik Pembelajaran Ice Breaking (Godibermen) Terhadap Motivasi Belajar Matematika Peserta Didik Kelas V Sekolah Dasar Negeri 26 Mangkaca Pangkep Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan dibimbing oleh Sundari Hamid dan Fathimah Az Zahra Nasiruddin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh Teknik Pembelajaran Ice Breaking (Godibermen) Terhadap Hasil Belajar Matematika Peserta Didik Kelas V pada Sekolah Dasar Negeri 26 Mangkaca di Kabupaten Pangkep. Jumlah Sampel pada penelitian sebesar 64 Siswa, yang terbagi menjadi masing-masing 32 siswa perkelompok. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen semu dengan analisis data menggunakan teknik penskoran. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata pada kelas eksperimen post test meningkat menjadi 77,84 yang sebelumnya atau pada pre test hanya 36,86. Berdasarkan hasil uji t-test nilai t-hitung 10,393>1.697 nilai t- tabel dan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 yang berarti lebih kecil dari 0,05, dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa teknik pembelajaran ice breaking (godibermen) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar Matematika pada peserta didik kelas V.

ABSTRACT

The Influence of Ice Breaking (Godibermen) Learning Techniques on the Motivation to Learn Mathematics in Class V Elementary School 26 Mangkaca Pangkep, South Sulawesi Province, supervised by Sundari Hamid and Fathimah Az Zahra Nasiruddin. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the Ice Breaking Learning Technique (Godibermen) on the Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Class V Students at the 26 Mangkaca State Elementary School in Pangkep Regency. The number of samples in the study was 64 students, which were divided into 32 students in each group. The research method used is a quasi-experimental with data analysis using a scoring technique. The results of this study indicate that the average value in the post-test experimental class increased to 77.84 previously or in the pre-test only 36.86. Based on the results of the t-test, the t-count value is 10.393> 1.697 the t-table value and the significance value is 0.000 which means it is smaller than 0.05, thus it can be concluded that the ice breaking (godibermen) learning technique has a significant effect on learning outcomes in mathematics in class students. V.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MULTIMODAL PEDAGOGIES IN TEACHING WRITING IN INDONESIAN VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS
Get PDFThis research aimed at finding out how teachers implement multimodal pedagogies in teaching writing in the classroom. This research was conducted at one vocational high school in Biak Numfor Regency, Papua Province. The descriptive qualitative design was applied in this research. Two English teachers were chosen as participants of the study through the purposive sampling technique. The data from this research were obtained through observation, interview, and documentation. The technique of data analysis was carried out through the following steps: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of the study showed the the teachers made some plans such as lesson plans, instructional material, learning media, and students’ worksheets. In the process of classroom teaching implementation, the teachers utilized information and communication technology to present the material. They used various learning media, such as PowerPoint, pictures, videos, and exciting learning resources, in the teaching and learning process. In evaluating teaching writing, the teachers evaluated the students’ achievement and learning process. The teachers evaluated the students’ achievement by observing them and assessing student worksheets and individual assignments. PENGAJARAN SAINS MELALUI DEMONSTRASI: PENDEKATAN INOVATIF UNTUK MENINGKATKAN LITERASI SAINS LINGKUNGAN SISWA
No full textThe issue in this study is the poor scientific learning results in class V at UPT Public Elementary School, 127 Inpres Komara I, Polut District, Takalar Regency. This study's aim was to describe how the demonstrative learning model was used to enhance fifth-grade students' scientific learning results at UPT Public Elementary School 127 Inpres Komara I in Takalar Regency's Polut District. This research strategy is qualitative. This kind of study is called classroom action research, and it entails planning, carrying it out, monitoring it, and reflecting on it. The demonstration learning paradigm and science learning outcomes are the main topics of this study. Teachers and fifth-grade children at UPT Public Elementary School, 127 Inpres Komara I, Polut District, Takalar Regency, served as the study's subjects. 7 boys and 6 girls who participated in the even semester of the 2022–2023 academic year: observation data collection methods, assessments, and paperwork. The three data analysis approaches used in this study are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The analysis of the research's findings reveals a significant growth in each cycle. Cycle I test scores with sufficient qualifications increased in cycle II with appropriate qualifications. The data analysis results showed that demonstration learning might enhance student learning outcomes in science in class V UPT Public Elementary School 127 Inpres Komara I, Polut District, Takalar Regency.
Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar saintifik kelas V di UPT SDN 127 Inpres Komara I Kecamatan Polut Kabupaten Takalar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana model pembelajaran demonstratif digunakan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar saintifik siswa kelas V di UPT SDN 127 Inpres Komara I Kecamatan Polut Kabupaten Takalar. Strategi penelitian ini adalah kualitatif. Studi semacam ini disebut penelitian tindakan kelas, dan itu memerlukan perencanaan, pelaksanaannya, pemantauannya, dan refleksinya. Paradigma pembelajaran demonstrasi dan hasil belajar IPA menjadi topik utama penelitian ini. Guru dan anak kelas V di UPT SD Negeri 127 Inpres Komara I Kecamatan Polut Kabupaten Takalar dijadikan sebagai subjek penelitian. 7 laki-laki dan 6 perempuan yang mengikuti semester genap tahun akademik 2022–2023: metode pengumpulan data observasi, penilaian, dan kertas kerja. Tiga pendekatan analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Analisis temuan penelitian menunjukkan adanya pertumbuhan yang signifikan pada setiap siklusnya. Nilai tes siklus I dengan kualifikasi cukup meningkat pada siklus II dengan kualifikasi sesuai. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran demonstrasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa kelas V UPT SDN 127 Inpres Komara I Kecamatan Polut Kabupaten Takalar.

Why is that because Indonesia has many tribes, cultures, languages, religions and races whose unity must be maintained. THE EFFECT OF E-LEARNING THROUGH THE MICROSOFT TEAMS APP IN ENGLISH SUBJECT
Get PDFThe purpose of this study was to carry out whether there was an effect of the used the Microsoft Teams application on students’ speaking skills of SMAN 18 Makassar for the 2022/2023 academic year. This study used pre-experimental methods in one pre-test and post-test class through a speaking test. The sample consisted of 25 students taken from the population of class XII Science 1 SMAN 18 Makassar for the 2022/2023 academic year. In conducting data analysis, the writers used the SPSS v.25 application. The results of the data analysis showed that there was an effect on students' speaking skills which can be seen from five speaking assessments, there are pronunciation, grammar, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The average score of students increased from 47.20 on the pre-test to 84.48 on the post-test. This suggests that the H1 hypothesis is accepted and the H0 hypothesis is rejected. Based on the results of data analysis, the writers concluded that students' speech skills effect through the Microsoft Teams application
USING ‘ENGLISH SPEAKING PRACTICE’ APPLICATION TO IMPROVE STUDENTS’ SPEAKING SKILL AT THE ELEVENTH GRADE OF SMAN 18 MAKASSAR
Get PDFThe background of this study based on the fact that speaking skill is the one of the most difficult skill to learn in English. The objective of the study was to know whether there was a improvement on using ‘English Speaking Practice’ application on students’ speaking skill at the eleventh grade of SMAN 18 Makassar.
This study used a pre-experimental research method in one class pre-test and post-test. This study conducted at SMAN 18 Makassar. The population in this study was the eleventh grade in the academic year 2022/2023. The number of samples were 20 students from eleventh grade Social Science 4. The writer used the application of SPPS v.25 in conducted the data analysis.
The result of this study was using ‘English Speaking Practice’ application can improve students’ speaking skill. It can be proven by the average score obtained by students in the pre-test and post-test. The mean score increased from 48,60 on the pre-test to 82,00 on the post-test. It showed that the hypothesis H1 was accepted and hypothesis H0 was rejected. Based on the analysis above, it could conclude that using ‘English Speaking Practice’ application could improve students’ speaking skill at SMAN 18 Makassar

This research focuses on the students’ speaking skill through labirin board game. The aim of this study was to find out weather there was an enhancement of students’ speaking skill after implementing the labirin Board Game in eleventh grade at SMA 18 Makassar in the 2022/2023 academic year. The method used in this study was quantitative experimental research with one group pre-test-post-test research design. Speaking test used as the instruments of elicting the data. The procedure of collecting data was pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The samples of this research were the eleventh grade with 36 students. Simple random sampling was a method used to select a sample . The results of data analysis showed there was an enhancement in students' speaking skill of vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency through the implementation of the abirin Board Game. The mean score of the students increased from 5.06 on the pre-test to 7.67 on the post-test The difference between the pre-test and the post-test was statistically significant (0.00<0.05). Based on the results of data analysis, the writer conclude that there was an enhancement after implementing the labirin Board Game on speaking skill in eleventh grade at SMA 18 Makassar
