    TEACHERS’ STRICTNESS AND ITS IMPACT ON LEARNING OUTCOMES: A CRITICAL REVIEW

    Teachers’ strictness has a role in shaping students' learning and has become an extensive research subject of education. This research is focused on teachers' strictness, which impacts the students' engagement, academic achievements, and emotions. Findings showed that the balancing of approach where strictness, support, and clear communication can impact the students' achievement and their behavioral development positively. The method of strict discipline may lead to the effect of decreased motivation, lower engagement, and increased anxiety. For example, research highlights that strict class management can enhance short-term compliance, otherwise, this matter destroys long-term educational achievement, except if it is combined with the nurture of the relationship between teacher and students. Furthermore, the education strategy that interprets discipline and empathy is recommended to foster a conducive environment for the development of the students holistically. These findings underlined the complexity of the effectiveness of the teacher which advocates a nuanced approach of discipline that supports academic rigor and emotional support

    THE USE OF E-LKPD TO IMPROVE THE STUDENTS READING COMPREHENSION IN NARRATIVE MATERIALS

    This study examines the effectiveness of E-LKPD learning media in improving the learning outcomes of Grade XI students at SMAN 106 Jakarta. The study involved two classes of 36 students each, selected through purposive sampling. The results show that the experimental class using E-LKPD learning media showed significant improvement in learning outcomes compared to the control class using conventional methods. The experimental class showed a more consistent and homogeneous improvement, with the E-LKPD media helping students to better understand the material, increasing active participation and enabling a more engaged and interactive learning process. In addition, the flexibility of e-LKPDs to provide anytime, anywhere access to learning materials and the ease with which teachers can deliver content and monitor progress contributed to success. This study concludes that e-LKPDs are a significant and effective tool for improving student learning outcomes

    IMPLEMENTATION OF INDEPENDENT LEARNING TO IMPROVE SELF-EFFICACY AND LEARNING MOTIVATION

    Self-efficacy plays a significant role in the success of students' learning. Successful learning is not only limited to the height mark obtained or Grade Point Average (GPA) but self-confidence to do something well is also one of the things that must be in successful learning. Hence, this study aims to know how the implementation of independent learning increases self-efficacy and learning motivation. The method used in this study is a literature review. The author searched information from various sources such as books, journals, and other scientific papers related to the context. The data were then integrated and made as a reference in writing this paper. Results and discussion show that self-efficacy and learning motivation have a positive relationship and both are equally important to be improved. The analysis of various literature shows that the implementation of independent learning can increase self-efficacy and learning motivation

Penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan alat peraga papan interaktif terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VII Mts DDI Darul Ihsan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan desain penelitian pre-eksperimen one group pretes-posttes, yaitu memberikan tes awal sebelum adanya perlakuan, dan tes akhir setelah adanya perlakuan yaitu pembelajaran menggunakan alat peraga papan interaktif. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII sebanyak 10 orang siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan sebanyak 4 kali pertemuan. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah, Tes. Data yang diperoleh akan dianalisis dengan Uji-T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh penggunaa alat peraga papan interaktif terhadap hasil belajar siswa Mts DDI Darul Ihsan. Hal ini dapat dilihat berdasarkan hasil analisis Uji-T diperoleh nilai t_hitung sebesar 6,603 dan t_tabel (df=18) sebesar 1,734 sehingga t_hitung>t_tabel dan dilihat dari nilai signifikansi memiliki nilai sebesar 0,000 lebih kecil dari nilai signifikansi 0,05 (0,000<0,05) sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa H_1 diterima dan H_0 ditolak, yang artinya  alat peraga papan interaktif yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar siswa.     CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR MANDARIN INTERPRETERS IN CENTRAL SULAWESI'S MINING SECTOR

    This study aims to analyze the essential role of Mandarin interpreters in the context of business communication within the mining sector, with a specific focus on the Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP) in Central Sulawesi Province. T he necessity for effective cross-linguistic communication becomes paramount for multinational companies. Mandarin, as one of the most widely spoken languages globally, plays a central role in facilitating interactions between local stakeholders and foreign enterprises. This research employs a qualitative methodology through in-depth interviews with five interpreters operating at IMIP. The primary focus of this study is to explore the language and cultural challenges faced by interpreters and how they overcome these barriers to ensure accurate and effective communication. Additionally, the research examines the importance of understanding relevant technical terminology and cultural contexts in enhancing business relationships, operational effectiveness, and negotiation strategies. The findings indicate that qualified interpreters play a crucial role in maintaining smooth business operations, strengthening cross-cultural collaboration, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. This study identifies the skills, qualifications, and experience necessary for interpreters to succeed in a dynamic and challenging work environment. Thus, it provides valuable guidance for individuals interested in pursuing a career as Mandarin interpreters in this evolving mining sector.     Writing a thesis proposal is an important part of undergraduate education. However, many students face difficulties in writing a thesis proposal, such as selecting an appropriate topic and systematic preparation. In technological developments, ChatGPT can help students in the process of writing a thesis proposal by providing writing assistance, critical thinking, and other information. This research aims to gain the perception and challenges of students in using ChatGPT in assisting them writing their thesis proposals. To get to these aims, the researcher implemented a research and development design by using qualitative methods.. This research was conducted at Al Asyariah Mandar University . The subjects of this research were the seventh semester students of Mathematic Education and Bahasa Indonesia Education in the academic year 2023-2024. In this study, students will be interviewed and asked to share their experiences, the effectiveness and challenges on the assistance of chatgpt in writing their thesis proposals. In the interview results, ChatGPT helps users in finding thesis proposal titles, give information and ideas in building introductions, and providing alternative solutions to deepen the understanding of the proposal. It is important to consider and verify information with more reliable and accurate sources. The use of ChatGPT in writing thesis proposals is an interesting and effective alternative, but users also need to remain critical and selective in utilizing it. In further research, more interviews and case studies need to be conducted to obtain a more comprehensive understanding of the use of ChatGPT in writing thesis proposals. Although ChatGPT has limitations, respondents consider its use to improve productivity and learning efficiency. Therefore, the use of ChatGPT can be considered as an attractive alternative in writing thesis proposals, while maintaining a critical approach in utilizing it and verifying the information provided

    Use of Circle Game As A Strategy to Improve Students’ Vocabulary of Tenth Grade Of SMK Negeri 7 Bulukumba

    The purpose of this study is to know how to improve students’ vocabulary on Circle Game at the tenth grade of SMK Negeri 7 Bulukumba. The researcher applied pre experimental in one class pre-test and post-test. In this research the population was the Tenth-grade students of SMKN 7 Bulukumba in 2023/2024 academic year. The researcher used total sampling technique. The total sample was 20 students from class X TKJ. In analyzing the numerical data, the writer used SPSS version 24.0. Based on the results of data analysis, the writer concluded that the use of Circle Game can increase students’ vocabulary knowledge, it’s proved by the mean score of the students’ in pretest and post-test. The result of the research shows that Circle Game significantly increased students’ vocabulary knowledge after did treatment where the results shown in the paired sample test are 0.001 is smaller than 0.05. The mean score improved from 49.75 in pre-test to 68.75 in post-test. It indicated that the one hypothesis (H1) was accepted and of course, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. It means that Circle Game can improve the students’ vocabulary knowledge in learning English at SMK Negeri 7 Bulukumba. Key Words: Circle Game, Strategy, Vocabular

    The role of female traders in improving the economic welfare of families in Tanete Village, Simbang District, Maros Regency is the title of the research conducted by the researcher. This study focuses on determining the role and factors that encourage women to work as traders in improving the economic welfare of families and households in Tanete Village, Simbang District, Maros Regency. This study uses a qualitative research method, namely by conducting observations at the research location, conducting in-depth interviews with 6 (six) informants and also documenting activities in the field. The results of the study obtained by the author are 1) Women who carry out activities or careers as traders can improve the economic welfare of their families or households. Female traders carry out their duties not only in the domestic sector but also in the public sector. Women with the profession of traders can help their families or households from poverty, this is because of the skills they have in trying in this case trading. 2) There are 4 (four) factors for women to enter the business world, namely independence, capital, family and finally coercion

    COMPARISON OF TWO ENGLISH TEXTBOOKS USED IN INDONESIA SECONDARY EDUCATION: ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (CAMBRIDGE IGCSE) VS ENGLISH FOR NUSANTARA (KURIKULUM MERDEKA)

    The objectives of this research were to (1) perform a structural comparison between the English textbooks used at the secondary level in the Cambridge IGCSE (English as a Second Language) and the English textbooks in Kurikulum Merdeka (English for Nusantara); (2) analyze key differences in the expected language skill levels from English as a Second Language and English for Nusantara; (3) explore textbook materials that can facilitate students’ intercultural learning. The main sources of the study are English as a Second Language (Cambridge IGCSE) and English for Nusantara textbooks for grades 7-9. There are three main areas both explored and analyzed; the textbook organization, language skills, and how the two aspects previously mentioned support the intercultural learning of the students. The results of the research revealed that: (1) there are similarities, particularly in the development of language skills and thematic focus. However, there are significant differences in their emphasis and learning objectives; (2) in the aspect of language skills, English as a Second Language textbook provides depth in all designed texts with one language skill focus and activities that impact the language skills of the students, particularly in more formal and professional activities whereas English for Nusantara textbooks would allow the exposure to two or more languages within one unit with limited depth range; (3) in the aspects of intercultural learning, English as a Second Language emphasizes global perspective while English for Nusantara instills Indonesian cultural values and local context with gradual universal values exposure along the wa
