How to make distance learning for non-native students more effective by annexing captions to lectures
Get PDF現在マレーシアで実施されているJADプログラム（Japan Associate Degree Program）をはじめとする日本留学前予備教育プログラムでは，日本から派遣された教員のみで専門領域をすべて網羅することは不可能である。このため，講義の一部が日本からの遠隔講義という形態で実施されることが多いが，現状では十分な教育的効果をあげることができていない。日本語を母語としない外国人留学生にとって，日本人教員が日本人向けに実施した通常の講義を配信しただけのリアルタイム講義やそれを収録しただけの講義コンテンツから，教員が伝えたいと思う知識や経験などを含む全ての情報を抽出することは日本語理解力の面から非常に難しく，これまで一般的な対面講義に比べて教育的効果があがらなかった。そこで著者らは日本語字幕付き講義コンテンツを開発するとともに，開発されたコンテンツを用いてJADプログラムでブレンディッド型遠隔講義を実施してきた。本稿では，日本語字幕付き講義コンテンツの概要とその開発方法，及び開発した講義コンテンツを用いた遠隔講義の有効性について，学生からのアンケート結果から述べる。The Japan Associate Degree program（JAD）among others prepares selected Malaysian students for an extended study in Japan. However, the Japanese language teachers dispatched to conduct those programs often cannot provide proper coverage of all specialized disciplines involved. Since non-native students lacked the sufficient linguistic competence, it is difficult for them to extract all specialized knowledge and other necessary information contained in real-time lectures or taped recordings which were given by native Japanese. Thus, the distance-learning system was employed to compensate for this deficiency. As a solution to this problem the present authors worked out a method whereby lecture contents could be annexed with Japanese captions. All the JAD distance-learning lectures now in practice are successfully conducted by means of this method. This paper will first give a general description of caption-annexed distance-learning lectures, and next analyze the feedback gleaned from questionnaire surveys carried out among the students concerned.departmental bulletin pape
User Context Recognition in Commuting Using Multiple Sensors for Wearable Learning Systems
Get PDF本論文では，移動中の連続した学習を支援するウェアラブル学習システムにおけるウェアラブルセンサを用いた利用者コンテキストの認識手法について述べる。本研究では，利用者の動作（「座位」，「立位」，「歩く」，「走る」，「自転車」），立位時の場所（「電車の中」，「駅のホーム」，「遮断機・信号機の前」），及び電車内の混雑度（「空いている」，「混んでいる」）を認識するために，両足大腿部の加速度，天井までの距離，及び大気中の二酸化炭素濃度を計測する。前処理として加速度データのパワースペクトル及び距離データの中央値を算出後，識別器としてサポートベクターマシンを用いて各動作・場所・混雑度の確率を推定する。更に次状態への遷移確率に遷移の平易度を考慮してロバストな認識を実現する。実験にて通学行程全体の認識率を85.8%の精度で認識できており，「回答できない設問が出題される」という学習に支障をきたす誤認識は0.6%と極めて低いことを確認した。In this paper, we have investigated a user context recognition mechanism for a wearable system that provides a context-based uninterrupted learning environment using multiple sensors. In our research, we measure the acceleration of a userʼs legs, ceiling height, and carbon dioxide level in the area to recognize the following five user conditions: sitting, standing, walking, running, and biking, the following three standing locations: on a train, on a platform, and at a crossing gate or a traffic signal, and the following two congestion levels of the inside of a train: uncrowded and crowded. The support vector machine predicts the probability of a userʼs context based on the power spectrum of the acceleration data, the median of the height data, and the raw carbon dioxide data. In addition, we introduce context transition tendency to achieve robust recognition of user context. We have conducted a series of experiments to evaluate our prototype. Our system was able to recognize user context during an actual commute with an accuracy of 85.8%. Also, we confirmed that the misrecognition rate that results in an interference with learning where the system gives a question the user cannot answer is extremely low（0.6%）．departmental bulletin pape

General Education for Information Study in Japanese Elementaly, Middle and High Schools.

However, the topic and associated problems has not gained match attaintion previously. In this paper, the author describes goals and importance of information study education, along with comparison against other countries, history, current status, and discusses various problems associated with the domain. General Information Education in Hokkaido University
Get PDF北海道大学では，実習を中心とした一般情報教育を，統一的内容で，ほぼ全入学生に提供している。入学生約2600人は，20人程度にグルーピングされ，各グループの実習は主にTAが担当する。情報活用能力の総合的な向上を目指し，情報セキュリティや知的財産権等に関する学習内容や，グループ・学習者間での協調学習を重視している。本授業は，知識基盤社会における教養教育としての位置づけで企画しており，授業時間外の学習を前提に構成している。本稿では，授業内容の概要を示すとともに，教育の質向上のための取り組みと過渡期における授業内容の改善方法についても検討する。At the Hokkaido University, we offer information education for practical learning as part of the general education for all freshmen. Freshmen students of about 2600 are classified into groups of about 20 students who are instructed by teaching assistants. Our aim is to teach and conduct information security, intellectual property and collaborative learning between groups and learners in order to improve their comprehensive ability of information fluency. We consider information education as an integral part of liberal arts in a knowledge-based society and have designed the course by presuming sufficient self-learning, according to the government’s guideline. The use of captions in dealing with lecture comprehension problems of Japanese-language students: an interview survey based on PAC analysis
Get PDF現在，日本留学前教育が海外において盛んに行われている。日本留学前教育の現場では，大学の専門講義を日本語で行うことがあるが，現地に派遣された教員だけでは必要とされるすべての専門領域を網羅することはできず，一部が日本からの遠隔配信授業で補われる。しかし，専門科目と平行して日本語を学習している学生の日本語力の問題から，遠隔授業は，通常の対面式講義と比べ教育効果が上がらなかった。本研究では，配信される講義コンテンツに日本語字幕を付すことにより，講師の発話を聴覚情報だけでなく，視覚情報としても提供した。講義情報を聴覚，視覚情報として多重化するという試みのうち，学生は講義中の全発話を文字化した全文字幕，講義の要約を文字化した要約字幕を高く評価した。この理由を明らかにするため，PAC分析を利用した聞き取り調査を行った。日本語学習者は，字幕を利用した様々な学習ストラテジーを用いることにより，より深く講義を理解し，また自らの日本語学習に字幕を積極的に取り入れていることがわかった。Prior to coming to Japan students overseas are often offered specialized professional education in Japanese. But the Japanese teachers dispatched overseas cannot cover all the necessary disciplines, and therefore part of the preparatory education is executed using the distance learning method. But owing to the linguistic inexpertness on the part of the students, distance learning has often proved not sufficiently effective compared to the more normal face-to-face learning. This present research explores the ways to offer lectures not only as acoustic but also as visual information by superimposing Japanese captions on lecture videos, and by this multiplexing enhance learner comprehension. The students participating in the research found both total and partial captions highly useful. This research based on a careful review of the questionnaire results using PAC analysis will determine how best to utilize captioned teaching materials in order to improve not only the studentsʼ understanding of lectures but also their Japanese language skills.departmental bulletin pape
Supervising Research of Distance Educating Students in the Open University of Japan
Get PDF放送大学は，放送での講義の他に，学部全科生の卒業研究や，大学院の修士全科生を対象とした修士論文の研究指導も行なわれており，遠隔地に住む学生に向けた研究指導のために，Web会議システムなどの環境が整備されている。ここでは，学生間のコミュニケーションの充実の目的に向けた組織内SNSを構築し，それを利用した研究指導についての実践報告を行なう。こうした経験にもとづき，ICTを活用した遠隔研究指導の利用拡大に向けた方策について検討する。In this paper，we report the practice of the student mentoring for distance educating
students in the Open University of Japan（ OUJ）．For such mentoring, we utilize a web
conference system, wiki, and social networking system（ SNS）．In students mentoring via
web-conference system, many discussions tend to be hold between teacher and each student.
In this point, we found that in-house SNS is effective for increasing communication between
students and sharing common understandings in each research theme. From this practice,
we discuss the possibilities for expanding of such ICT utilization in student mentoring for

Get PDF本論文では、心理面接におけるクライエントと面接者の交流の中で、特に身体的交流における臨床的意義について考えた。身体はこころと相互作用をもち、時には身体がクライエントのこころの問題を表現し、病からこころを守る緩衝体として作用することがある。また、人は、生まれて間もなくして、身体を使った非言語的交流により、人との関わりを始める。そのため、心理面接でクライエントの身体状態に関心を向けることは、心理面接の基礎部分を支えるものであると筆者は考えている。
心理面接における、身体的交流とクライエントへの身体感覚への共感の仕方は、子どもと成人とでは異なる。子どもは、言語発達の不十分さ故に非言語的交流を多く用い、特に遊戯療法での子どもは、身体言語を用いて自分の内界を表現することが多い。このため、面接者は、クライエントの身体言語を読み取り理解する力が、子どもとの交流を深めるために必要である。そして、面接者がクライエントの身体感覚を詳細に感じ取ることができた時、クライエントと面接者は、類似の心理的体験を共有することができる。一方、青年期以降の面接では、身体的交流が減り、言語による交流が中心となる。したがって、面接者にはクライエントの五感を感じとる想像力が必要となる。そして面接者の想像力が、クライエントの身体感覚への共感をひきおこし、クライエントが見ないようにしていた自分の身体感覚に意識を向ける一助になりえ、クライエントが意識化できなかった自分の問題行動の自覚につながっていく。
以上に述べたことより、面接者によるクライエントの身体感覚への共感は、クライエントの自己理解援助として重要であり、身体感覚の共感のためには、面接者が自身の五感に強い関心を向けることが大切であると思われる。departmental bulletin pape
