FORMAÇÃO, CURRÍCULO E EMANCIPAÇÃO – OS IMPACTOS DA RACIONALIDADE NEOLIBERAL NA PRÁTICA PEDAGÓGICA, NA CONSTITUIÇÃO DOS SUJEITOS E NAS TENSÕES COM A EDUCAÇÃO CRÍTICA DE PAULO FREIRE

    Get PDF

THE BRITISH RENAISSANCE IN LITERATURE: HUMANISM, LANGUAGE, AND THE REBIRTH OF EXPRESSION

    No full text
The British Renaissance is one of the most significant shifts in the history of European intellect and aesthetics, but in terms of both origin and manifestation, it also betrays some significant differences from other Renaissances. Originating in the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries, it entailed the recovery of classical learning in combination with the theological and political upheavals of the Reformation. This paper will contend that the British Renaissance in literature had instilled in it the concept of language-as-self-fashioning, with such works of the period, ranging from the moral humanism of Thomas More to the rhetorical effusiveness of Shakespeare, entailing not the imitation of European humanist ideals but rather their translation into the language itself, with language becoming the agent of intellectual and spiritual change. This paper traces the convergence of classical rhetorical traditions, Protestant theology, and the formation of British identity in the creation of new literary forms and modes of conscious awareness in representative authors such as More, Sidney, Spenser, Marlowe, and Shakespeare. From historical narrative to linguistic analysis, the discussion builds to a conclusion concerning Shakespeare, the ultimate product of Renaissance humanist experimentation. The British Renaissance, in effect, engendered the creation of a view of literature not just dedicated to imitation (mimesis) but rather to ‘’creative knowledge’’, or the art of describing the complexities of human freedom and moral responsibility

Children\u27s rights are threatened by school bullying, which also affects their mental health and academic success. Existing laws have not been so effective about protecting children from bullying. This is a study of the legal protection of children from the bullying of the "Anti-Bullying Ambassador Selection" program in the City of Palembang using both normative and empirical approaches. The first approach is normative analysis, which reviews the Indonesian legal framework, particularly in Law No. 35 of 2014, on Child Protection. It also examines Permendikbud No. 82 of 2015, which mandate schools to prevent violence and ensure safe learning environments. This empirical study has a survey sample of 385 students from 19 participating program schools. High awareness of bullying is already seen (99.5%), yet a prevalence of verbal (91.4%) and social bullying (53.2%). Students report significant psychological effects but also testify strong trust on peer-led interventions, with 91.7% willing to rely on ambassadors. Additionally, economic-wise, the program could contribute positively to the country. Findings confirm that peer-based initiatives complement existing regulations, institutionalize participation, and align with the Asta Cita vision for a safe and inclusive educational environment

REPAIRING THE SELF: MATERIAL MEMORY, SUSTAINABILITY AND AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL IDENTITY IN CONTEMPORARY CERAMIC ART

    No full text
This article examines contemporary ceramic art as a site of autobiographical self-narration articulated through material memory, repair practices, and an emerging ethics of material sustainability. Moving beyond text-centered models of autobiography, it argues that ceramic materiality, particularly processes of breakage, fragmentation, and visible mending, functions as a non-textual mode of autobiographical expression. Rather than treating repair as a purely technical intervention, the study conceptualizes it as a narrative and material framework through which identity is constructed as fractured, contingent, and continually reassembled. Drawing on theories of narrative identity, material memory, and material agency, the article positions ceramic and porcelain materials as active narrative agents whose fragility enables memory to be registered through damage and repair while foregrounding questions of responsibility and sustainability. Through analyses of selected contemporary ceramic practices and a reflexive yet non-confessional engagement with artistic process, it demonstrates how visible seams and deliberate imperfections materialize lived experience and identity formation. By foregrounding repair as both a narrative and ethical strategy, the article expands auto/biography studies beyond textual paradigms and proposes the repaired self as a productive model of autobiographical identity grounded in material awareness, sustainability, and ongoing reconstruction

This mixed-methods research investigated the awareness, knowledge, attitudes, and readiness for compliance of postgraduate accounting students concerning Nigerian financial regulations. An explanatory sequential research design was utilized. Quantitative data were gathered from 150 postgraduate students through a structured questionnaire, while qualitative data were collected via semi-structured interviews with 15 participants selected purposefully. The quantitative data were analyzed using means, standard deviations, and Pearson product-moment correlation, while the qualitative data underwent thematic analysis. The findings revealed high levels of regulatory awareness (cluster M ≈ 2.97, SD ≈ 0.77), knowledge/understanding (cluster M ≈ 2.89, SD ≈ 0.80), favorable attitudes towards financial regulation (cluster M ≈ 2.93, SD ≈ 0.72), and readiness for compliance (cluster M ≈ 3.01, SD ≈ 0.74). Pearson correlation analysis indicated a moderate positive and statistically significant relationship between attitude and knowledge (r = .347, p < .01). The 95% confidence interval for the correlation ranged from .198 to .481, suggesting a stable positive association. The qualitative findings highlighted the perceived relevance of financial regulations to professional practice, deficiencies in curriculum depth, dependence on informal regulatory exposure, and the necessity for structured, practice-oriented regulatory training. While students exhibited positive attitudes towards compliance, many recognized their limited practical engagement with statutory frameworks. The study concludes that enhancing curricular integration and experiential exposure to regulatory frameworks is crucial for improving regulatory competence among postgraduate accounting students in Nigeria.

Credit Unions (CUs) in Indonesia, particularly in Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), play a vital role in financial inclusion for underserved communities. However, bal-ancing outreach to high-risk borrowers with financial sustainability remains a chal-lenge. This study investigates the impact of operational costs, Daperma (Joint Pro-tection Fund), and technology adoption (e.g., Sikopdit application) on CU sus-tainability and outreach. Using panel data regression on 50 CUs in NTT from 2015–2024, we find that Daperma and technology adoption significantly enhance both sustainability (measured by return on assets) and outreach (depth to high-risk borrowers), while taxes and employee costs have negligible or negative effects. These findings reject prior studies emphasizing tax burdens (Cull et al., 2011) and highlight the unique role of local innovations like Daperma. In contrast, it is pro-pose strategies for CUs to leverage technology and social capital for sustainable growth, contributing to SDG 1 (No Poverty) and 8 (Decent Work)

    No full text
Background: Articulation disorders are common in children and refer to difficulties in producing speech sounds. These disorders often involve placement and manner errors that can impact speech intelligibility. Previous studies have explored these errors in various populations, but the prevalence and types of errors in children aged 3-12 years remain under examined, particularly in non-Western languages. Objective: The aim of this study was to assess the common placement and manner errors in children aged 3-12 years diagnosed with articulation disorders. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional survey was conducted in government and private hospitals and rehabilitation centers. A total of 183 children were included through purposive sampling. Data was collected using an articulation screening tool, and statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 25. Results: The most common placement error was alveolar (38.8%), followed by palatal (24.6%). Fricatives were the most frequent manner error (41.5%), and most errors occurred in the initial position of words (56.8%). Statistical analysis revealed significant associations between placement errors and age, and between manner errors and gender. Conclusion: The study identifies key articulation errors in children, with placement errors primarily involving alveolar and palatal sounds, and manner errors predominantly involving fricatives. These findings highlight the need for early intervention and targeted therapy to address these speech challenges

MEASURING ONLINE REVIEWS: A METHODOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK IN THE EUROPEAN CAMPING SECTOR

    No full text
The rapid expansion of digital review platforms has fundamentally transformed how service quality is evaluated in tourism and hospitality as well as in camping sector. Despite their growing importance, most empirical studies rely on ratings from a single platform, overlooking the fragmented nature of online reputation across digital environments.  This study aims to develop and empirically test a methodological framework for measuring online reputation through the aggregation of ratings from multiple platforms in the European camping sector. The analysis is based on a sample of 200 high-quality campsites holding the Superplatz designation (ADAC, 2026), for which user ratings were collected from PinCamp, TripAdvisor, and Camping.info. To ensure comparability, platform-specific ratings were harmonized to a common scale and combined using both unweighted and review-count-weighted composite indices. Correlation analysis indicates moderate convergence across platforms, while robustness testing demonstrates high stability of rankings between aggregation methods (Spearman ρ ≈ 0.80). The findings suggest that online reputation should be understood as a distributed construct shaped by multiple digital ecosystems rather than as a platform-specific metric. The proposed framework provides a transparent and replicable approach for more reliable evaluation of service quality in increasingly platform-mediated tourism markets

LANGUAGE LANDSCAPE AND IDENTITY IN DIALECTS FORMED THROUGH RUSSIAN INDIGENOUS CONTACT IN KAMCHATKA

    No full text
Purpose: To describe and analyze the vocabulary related to natural landscapes in the Kamchadal dialects of late Russian settlement, highlighting how such lexemes reflect the linguistic worldview and environmental conceptualization of dialect speakers in the Kamchatka region. Methodology/Approach: The study is based on linguistic description and component analysis. The material was drawn from field expedition notes (1970–2015), dialect dictionaries, and regional archives. Lexical items were classified according to their semantic fields, origins, and landscape associations. Originality/Relevance: This research contributes to dialectology, regional ethnolinguistics, and sustainability studies by documenting traditional ecological knowledge encoded in language. The findings demonstrate how landscape vocabulary reflects a sustainable interaction with the natural environment, rooted in centuries-old practices of resource use and spatial awareness among Kamchadal communities. Key Findings: The Kamchadal dialects use a diverse set of lexemes to represent tundra, forests, elevations, and swamps. Many of these words, such as alas, alashi, and ashkyg, reflect indigenous influence. The dialect speakers conceptualize space through utility and familiarity, assigning landscape terms with practical, ecological, and emotional connotations (e.g., diminutives like bereznyachok for birch forest patches). Certain landscape features also serve as geographic markers, often reflected in toponyms and ordinal naming (e.g., Vtoroy Bugor, Tretiy Bereznyak). This vocabulary encodes sustainable land-use practices and environmental resilience in a fragile northern ecosystem. Theoretical/Methodological Contributions: The study enhances understanding of the linguistic picture of the world in dialect communities and highlights how language preserves knowledge essential to sustainable regional development. It offers insights for interdisciplinary fields such as cultural geography, linguistic anthropology, and environmental education, particularly in relation to indigenous and local knowledge systems
