This paper presents a method for improving the accuracy of an anti-aircraft missile homing system when engaging highly maneuvering targets by adjusting the proportionality coefficient of the guidance law. First, a mathematical model and the synthesis of the anti-aircraft missile homing system in the vertical plane are presented. Then, the dependence of the accuracy of the synthesized system on changes in the aerodynamic coefficients and the speed of the missile and the moment of the target\u27s one-sided maneuver is investigated. A law for varying the proportionality coefficient and an algorithm for determining its parameters are proposed. To reduce the impact of interference on the system\u27s accuracy, a Kalman filter is proposed. Simulation of the synthesized system is carried out using the Simulink environment. As a result, a high-accuracy anti-aircraft missile homing system is obtained. A simulação do sistema sintetizado é realizada no ambiente Simulink. Como resultado, obtém-se um sistema de guiamento de mísseis antiaéreos de alta precisão

DETERMINANTS OF ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT AMONG FLIGHT ATTENDANTS: A CASE STUDY OF VIETNAM AIRLINES

    Get PDF
Amidst the escalating "war for talent" in Vietnam\u27s liberalized aviation market, retaining skilled flight attendants has become a critical strategic challenge. This study quantitatively assesses the key antecedents of organizational commitment among flight attendants at the national carrier, Vietnam Airlines. Drawing on survey data from 287 flight attendants, a multiple linear regression model was employed to determine the relative importance of seven potential drivers. The results reveal that \u27Training and Promotion Opportunities\u27 is the preeminent driver of commitment. Notably, intrinsic and experiential factors, such as \u27Cultural Interaction Opportunities\u27 and \u27Colleague Relations\u27, are significantly more influential than traditional transactional rewards. Conversely, \u27Remuneration and Benefits\u27, while statistically significant, emerged as the weakest predictor, suggesting its role as a foundational \u27hygiene factor\u27 rather than a primary motivator for loyalty. The study concludes that for Vietnam Airlines, cultivating long-term commitment hinges more on strategic investments in career development and enriching the work experience than on incremental financial incentives. These findings provide critical, context-specific insights for human resource strategy in emerging aviation markets

DYNAMICS OF CENTRAL AND PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT COOPERATION SECTOR BALANCING AUTHORITY AND BUDGET IRRIGATION POLICY IN INDONESIA

    Get PDF
This study aims to explore the dynamics of cooperation between the central and regional governments in supporting irrigation policies in Indonesia, focusing on West Java Province. The research uses qualitative analysis methods, examining intergovernmental relations through four main indicators: vertical relations, authority and autonomy, budget allocation, and regulations and institutions. Primary data were obtained through interviews with the Head of the Water Resources Operations and Maintenance Section of West Java Provincial Water Resources Office, while secondary data were collected from official ministry documents. The findings show that support for irrigation infrastructure is still limited due to budget allocations that do not match the extent of irrigated land. The mismatch between national irrigation planning and local conditions in West Java leads to inefficient resource allocation. The study concludes that synergy between the central and regional governments has not yet been fully realized, given the gap in planning and budget allocation, which impacts the implementation of irrigation policies. Therefore, better coordination between the two levels of government is essential to enhance the effectiveness of irrigation infrastructure development, supporting food security and agricultural sustainability in West Java. This study contributes to the theory of intergovernmental relations, emphasizing budget allocation as a critical factor in supporting irrigation policies

IMPACT OF ENHANCED RECOVERY AFTER SURGERY (ERAS) PROTOCOL IMPLEMENTATION ON LENGTH OF HOSPITAL STAY AND POSTOPERATIVE OUTCOMES IN GENERAL SURGERY: A RETROSPECTIVE COHORT STUDY

    Get PDF
Background: Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols are multidisciplinary, evidence-based perioperative pathways designed to reduce surgical stress, enhance functional recovery, and improve postoperative outcomes. While ERAS implementation has frequently been associated with reduced length of hospital stay (LOS), its effect may vary across healthcare settings with already optimized perioperative and discharge practices. Objective: To evaluate the association between ERAS protocol implementation and length of hospital stay among general surgery patients, and to assess its impact on postoperative complications and early recovery indicators. Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted at King Faisal Hospital, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, using electronic medical records from January 2022 to December 2023. A total of 938 patients who underwent general surgery procedures were included and categorized into ERAS and non-ERAS groups. Demographic characteristics, surgical and anesthetic factors, postoperative recovery indicators, and clinical outcomes were analyzed. Length of hospital stay was assessed using predefined duration categories. Comparative analyses were performed using chi-square tests and either t-tests or Mann–Whitney U tests, as appropriate. Statistical significance was set at p < .05. Results: ERAS protocols were implemented in 91.3% of patients. No statistically significant difference in length of hospital stay was observed between ERAS and non-ERAS groups (89.6% vs. 90.2% with LOS < 1 week, p = .674). In contrast, ERAS implementation was associated with a significantly lower overall rate of postoperative complications (4.8% vs. 20.7%, p < .001), particularly gastrointestinal (1.5% vs. 12.2%, p < .001) and respiratory complications (0.5% vs. 3.7%, p < .001). Patients managed with ERAS protocols demonstrated improved early recovery indicators, including earlier tolerance of oral intake and reduced postoperative nausea. ICU admission rates were low in both groups, and hospital readmission rates showed a statistically significant but clinically small absolute difference. Conclusion: ERAS protocol implementation in general surgery is associated with substantial reductions in postoperative complications and improvements in early recovery outcomes. Although no reduction in length of hospital stay was observed—likely reflecting already optimized institutional discharge pathways—these findings support the continued integration of ERAS principles to enhance perioperative care quality
