    Get PDF
This qualitative study has three main goals. First, it gathers and reviews information and past research about the materials, production methods, design, and development of hand-woven fabrics in Northeastern Thailand. Second, it examines the region\u27s unique identity and how it can be incorporated into fabric design and development. Third, it explores ways to design and develop hand-woven fabric products that reflect this local identity. The study focuses on hand-woven fabric entrepreneurs in Northeastern Thailand, with selected participants from Ubon Ratchathani and Amnat Charoen provinces. The results show that weaving in this region is a long-standing tradition with a strong cultural identity. Patterns are made using techniques such as continuous and discontinuous supplementary weft weaving, ikat, brocading, and plain weaving, alone or combined, to create a variety of unique designs. Design and development involve creating patterns based on local culture, promoting art and local identity, passing down traditional knowledge, and using technology and innovation in creative ways. The study highlights the importance of using local resources to improve the look, meaning, identity, and market value of products. Producers should consider four main factors: community resources, competitors, production abilities, and consumers or marketing. Local identity is divided into four types: natural environment, cultural heritage, craft knowledge, and beliefs or legends. Case studies of nine entrepreneurs who used natural environment themes identified five key points for product development: choosing the right techniques, making knowledge easy to share, using identity by choice, entrepreneur decision-making, and focusing on the market. Overall, satisfaction with the design and development results was very high (mean = 4.78)

Delirium in older adults can be shaped by their experiences of social isolation and a reduction in pleasure-oriented eating habits. When elderly individuals become disconnected from their social environment, this separation can trigger both psychological and biological changes that influence their overall well-being. The aging process entails multidimensional changes in individuals’ biological, psychological, and social functioning. The aim of this study is to examine the relationships between levels of delirium and social exclusion and hedonic eating behaviors among individuals aged 65 years and older. In line with its cross-sectional design, the study avoids causal inferences and addresses the relationships between variables within a descriptive and correlational framework. This study aims to explore how strongly social isolation and reduced pleasure-driven eating behaviors relate to the development of delirium in elderly individuals living in institutional care settings. This descriptive research was carried out in In 2025 Erzincan and involved older individuals living in the 100th Year Atatürk Nursing Home, the Refahiye Elderly Care Center, and the Kemah Nursing Home. Information was gathered through an elderly demographic form along with the Social Exclusion Scale, the Low Hedonistic Eating Habits Scale, and the Delirium Scale. The dataset was analyzed using descriptive statistics as well as independent samples t-tests, ANOVA, correlation analyses, and regression procedures. In this study, a convenience sampling method was employed

DO AGRICULTURE AND SERVICES DRIVE ECONOMIC GROWTH IN VIETNAM? EVIDENCE FROM AN ARDL FRAMEWORK

    Get PDF
This study analyzes the role of agriculture and service sectors in Vietnam\u27s economic growth using an autoregressive distributed lag model with data from 1990 to 2023. In the context of Vietnam’s economic transition from an agriculture-based economy to industrialization and modernization, which are key national strategic objectives, this research aims to evaluate the critical economic factors influencing this transformation. Variables such as agriculture, services, exports, foreign direct investment,  and population are examined to assess their short- and long-term impacts. The findings reveal that agriculture, despite being a traditional economic foundation, has a negative long-term impact owing to its reliance on raw output and lack of modernization, which hinders growth. By contrast, the service sector exhibits a strong positive impact, reflecting urbanization trends and rising demand for knowledge-based services, making it a pillar of sustainable development. Exports show a negative long-term impact but a positive short-term effect, as Vietnam primarily exports low-value goods. Foreign direct investment contributes to growth through capital and technology transfers, whereas population dynamics do not have a significant impact because of the declining young workforce. This study underscores the necessity of transitioning from traditional to modernized agriculture, enhancing value-added production, and developing knowledge-based services. Policy recommendations focus on modernizing agriculture, optimizing foreign direct investment  utilization, and fostering linkages between agriculture and services to ensure sustainable growth aligned with Vietnam’s global integration strategy

    Get PDF
The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the Republic of Poland’s diplomatic strategy in supporting Ukraine amid the full-scale Russian aggression that began in 2022. The authors explore the multifaceted nature of Polish diplomacy including political, military, humanitarian, cultural-educational, and informational dimensions. Poland emerges not only as an ally but also as an active architect of a new security model in Central and Eastern Europe where Ukraine occupies a key position. The focus is made on specific support mechanisms such as the supply of weapons, reception of refugees, diplomatic lobbying at the EU and NATO levels, scientific and educational cooperation, and cultural diplomacy. Poland’s role as a regional leader in building coalitions in support of Ukraine is systematically examined along with the risks posed by internal political polarization and economic conflicts (such as the “grain crisis”) for the first time. The article highlights the interdependence between Polish diplomacy and Ukraine’s transformation processes, emphasizing the potential for a long-term strategic alliance. The research is based on an extensive source basis that includes analytical reports, statistical data, international documents, and scholars’ publications. The findings indicate that Polish-Ukrainian cooperation represents a model of effective regional diplomacy in the context of war and post-conflict reconstruction. Poland increasingly acts as a bridge between Ukraine and Western institutions, while investing in long-term humanitarian and institutional ties

SOCIAL INTELLIGENCE AS POLITICAL CAPITAL: A STUDY OF WOMEN IN LOCAL POLITICS IN KEDIRI CITY

    Get PDF
This study explores the role of social intelligence as political capital for women in local politics in Kediri City. Despite the implementation of a 30% gender quota policy, the effectiveness of female politicians in performing legislative functions varies considerably. This research aims to identify the dimensions of female politicians’ social intelligence, analyze how social intelligence is transformed into political capital, and explain the strategies through which it is utilized in everyday political practice. Employing a qualitative approach with a Creswell case study design, the study involved 20 informants, consisting of 8 female members of the Kediri City Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) and 12 supporting informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and were analyzed using the interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that 5 out of the 8 female legislators demonstrated high levels of social intelligence, which they effectively employed in negotiations with communities and other political parties through empathy-based approaches, relational communication, and trust-building. These legislators converted social intelligence into political capital through the cultivation of trust, the construction of collective identity, and emotionally grounded patron–client networks. In contrast, the remaining 3 legislators exhibited low levels of social intelligence and relied heavily on party structures, resulting in weak substantive representation. This study contributes to Bourdieu’s theory of political capital by identifying social intelligence as a form of compensatory psychological capital and by balancing structural perspectives with agency in the gender and politics literature. Practically, the findings underscore the importance of strengthening social intelligence capacities through targeted training programs, political party recruitment reforms, and substantive capacity-building policies that complement gender quota regulations

ADVANCING HALAL SUPPLY CHAIN PRACTICES THROUGH SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION TRANSPARENCY AND REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

    Get PDF
The development of halal supply chains reflects a growing need to integrate religious integrity with modern supply chain imperatives. The analysis presented has shown that sustainability, transparency, and regulatory compliance are no longer peripheral considerations but essential pillars of advancement. Each dimension is interconnected, shaping not only operational practices but also the credibility and competitiveness of halal industries in global markets. Sustainability offers halal supply chains the ability to translate Islamic values of stewardship into practical strategies such as eco-friendly logistics, renewable energy adoption, and circular economy practices. Transparency, strengthened through digital technologies, ensures that consumers can verify halal authenticity with confidence. Yet, adoption of such innovations remains uneven, particularly among small and medium enterprises, making supportive infrastructure and inclusive policies a necessity. At the same time, fragmented regulatory frameworks continue to generate inefficiencies and weaken trust, highlighting the importance of harmonized and adaptive systems that can respond to emerging sustainability and technological demands. What emerges most clearly is the need for integrated governance models. Addressing sustainability, transparency, and regulation in isolation is insufficient. By embedding these elements within a cohesive framework, halal supply chains can move beyond compliance toward leadership in global value chains. Achieving this transformation will position halal supply chains as models of resilience, responsibility, and innovation in the evolving landscape of international trade

    Get PDF
This study aims to analyse the factors that influence the level of activity, reflectivity, and collaboration of teachers in continuous professional development based on Participatory Action Research (PAR); evaluate the impact of the PAR model on the quality of learning in schools; and identify the challenges and solutions faced by teachers in its implementation. A qualitative research method with a thematic analysis approach was used to explore the experiences of six teachers, one head teacher, one supervisor, and one external facilitator. The results showed that teacher activity was influenced by the relevance of training, structural support, and intrinsic motivation. Teachers\u27 reflectivity is generally still individual and sporadic, while collaboration occurs more informally. The application of the PTP model has been proven to increase professional awareness, encourage evidence-based learning, and strengthen peer collaboration through reflective forums and professional learning communities. The main challenges include time constraints, administrative burdens, and a lack of institutional support. Strategic solutions include providing dedicated time for reflection, simplifying administrative tasks, practice-based training, and transformational leadership by school principals

GARANTISMO INTERCULTURAL E IDENTIDADE INDÍGENA À LUZ DO PLURALISMO JURÍDICO: UM DEBATE DECOLONIAL

    Get PDF

THE PRACTICE OF MEDIATION AND NON-LITIGATION IN THE DISPUTE SETTLEMENT MECHANISM BETWEEN CHINA AND THE WTO

    Get PDF
This paper examines the application of mediation and other non-litigation practices that China applies in its dispute resolution approach in the World Trade Organization (WTO). With the emergence of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) as a major trend in global trade governance, China has started to pay greater attention to the importance of mediation as one of the ways to encourage cooperation, avoid confrontation, and enhance the efficiency of trade dispute resolution. The study will review the effectiveness of these practices through analysing their congruency with the Chinese focus on harmony and how they have contributed to the operation of the WTO dispute settlement system. The study relies on the records of WTO cases, Chinese policy documents, and legal scholarship, as the study design consists of a systematic literature review and thematic analysis based on a qualitative research design. The results indicate that ADR system in China is more effective in terms of dispute resolution and it also adds to the diversified and relationship-based WTO system. Such observations indicate the changing nature of mediation in the international trade disputes and suggest larger implications to the future of ADR in the international economic governance
