Identificar la influencia de las fases lunares sobre el sexo de las crías bovinas al servicio con registros de la asociación Holstein del Ecuador 2015 – 2018
No full textThe objective of this research work was to identify the influence of the moon phases, on sex in the conception of cattle, by observing 10050 reproductive records, made between 2015 and 2018 of the farms that are integrated in the base of data, from the Holstein Friesian Association of Ecuador; where the dates of effective services, dates of births, and sex of the baby at birth, which were conceived to the service with conventional semen and / or natural montage. The amount of effective conceptions was divided by each year of study, through the application of descriptive statistics, such as tables and histograms. The result showed that for 4 consecutive years, in 10050 conceptions of which 5293 (52.6 percent) were female, and 4757 (47.3 percent) were male. Stressing that in the lunar phase of the growing quarter, 2483 offspring were born, of which 1352 (54.5 percent) were female and 1131 (45.5 percent) were male, this difference is significant by the Chi2 statistical test which means that if there is dependence between sex fixed in conception and the moon phase. The rest of births distributed in the different moon phases do not show significant differences in the sex of the offspring at birth.El objetivo de este trabajo de investigación fue identificar la influencia de las fases lunares, sobre el sexo en la concepción de bovinos, mediante la observación de 10050 registros reproductivos, realizados entre el año 2015 y 2018 de los predios que se encuentran integrados en la base de datos, de la Asociación Holstein Friesian del Ecuador; donde se detallan las fechas de servicios efectivos, fechas de partos, y sexo de la cría al nacer, que fueron concebidas al servicio con semen convencional y / o monta natural. Se dividió por cada año de estudio la cantidad de concepciones efectivas, por medio de la aplicación de estadística descriptiva, como tablas e histogramas. El resultado mostró que durante 4 años consecutivos, en 10050 concepciones de las cuales 5293 (52,6 por ciento) fueron hembras, y 4757 (47,3 por ciento) fueron machos. Destacando que en la fase lunar de cuarto creciente nacieron 2483 crías, de las cuales 1352 (54,5 por ciento) fueron hembras y 1131 (45,5 por ciento) fueron machos, esta diferencia es significativa por la prueba estadística Chi2 lo que significa que si existe dependencia entre el sexo fijado en la concepción y la fase lunar. El resto de los nacimientos repartidos en las diferentes fases lunares no presentan diferencias significativas en el sexo de las crías al nacer
Guía de compra sostenible del cerdo en la cocina
No full textThis work has as main objective the development of a guide for sustainable purchase of pork in the kitchen. This is based on a theoretical basis obtained on several bibliographical sources to have conceptual and theoretical references of the consumption of this food. In this way, the importance of the topic and the most important concepts related to it were determined. Then, questionnaires were used, for interviews with experts and subject managers, such as field research and information gathering for the creation of the guide; since they are immersed in the use of pig produced with sustainable practices. Additionally, a field trip was made to the Cochauco agroecological farm, which is part of the Creole pig rescue project promoted by Slow Food Ecuador and led by Javier Ayala, who is the veterinarian of this place. Then, all this knowledge was used to carry out the structure of the guide that includes the importance and history of the introduction of the pig into the Ecuadorian territory, the differences found in a white pig and a Creole pig, specifically, why the Creole pig is the best option to accomplish the Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations Organization. Also, mention the aspects that should be considered for the choice of a sustainable productor and the culinary uses to which all pig derivates can be used. All this in order to raise awareness about the problems that occur around the consumption of the pig and how it can become responsible with the environment and benefit all sectors that are involved; from its production to its final consumption in a restaurant. Because pork is a relevant product in typical Ecuadorian cuisine and meat proteins have the greatest environmental impact. For this reason, it is important to encourage the purchase of foods that are product of ethical processes so that there is a future for humanity and all other living beings that inhabit the Earth.Este trabajo tiene como objetivo principal el desarrollar una guía de compra sostenible del cerdo en la cocina. Para esto se desarrolló un fundamento teórico basado en varias fuentes bibliográficas para tener referencias conceptuales y teóricas del consumo de este alimento. De esta manera, se determinó la importancia del tema y los conceptos más importantes relacionados al mismo. Para después utilizar cuestionarios para entrevistas a expertos y gestores del tema, como investigación de campo y recolección de información para la creación de la guía, ya que los mismos se encuentran inmersos en la utilización de cerdo producido con prácticas sostenibles. Adicionalmente, se realizó una salida de campo a la hacienda agroecológica Cochauco, la misma que forma parte del proyecto de rescate del cerdo criollo promovido por Slow Food Ecuador y liderado por el Med. Veterinario Javier Ayala. Luego, se utilizó todo este conocimiento para realizar la estructura de la guía que comprende la importancia e historia de la introducción del cerdo al territorio ecuatoriano, las diferencias encontradas en un cerdo blanco y un cerdo criollo, asimismo, el por qué el cerdo criollo es la mejor opción para cumplir con Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible establecidos por la Organización de Naciones Unidas. De igual manera, se mencionan los aspectos que deben ser considerados para elección de un proveedor sostenible y los usos culinarios a los que se pueden destinar todos los derivados del cerdo. Todo esto con el fin de que se cree conciencia acerca de las problemáticas que ocurren en torno al consumo del cerdo y de qué manera el mismo puede llegar a ser responsable con el medio ambiente y beneficioso para todos los sectores que se encuentran involucrados; desde su producción hasta su consumo final en un restaurante, puesto que el cerdo es un producto relevante dentro de la gastronomía típica ecuatoriana y las proteínas cárnicas son las que generan mayor impacto medioambiental. Por tal motivo, es importante fomentar la compra de alimentos que son fruto de procesos éticos para que exista un futuro para la humanidad y todos los demás seres vivos que habitan el planeta Tierra

It begins with the study of the different needs of people with motor disabilities, number of people affected at the national level, a brief analysis of useful technologies that exist in the country to help people with disabilities, the advantages and disadvantages that each one of them and an analysis of the lolin plate, which is a main component with which the prototype will be developed, compared to other similar technologies that currently exist in the country. It gives way to the design, construction and operation of the electronic prototype where the materials used are evidenced, step by step how the construction of the glove was carried out and the different functions that it performs, among which he sends events via Wi-Fi to a management server, which is responsible for sending sound alerts to a previously installed audio system and store each of the events in a database which will serve for a next diagnosis of the needs of the person with disabilities. After this, a test field is carried out to verify the operation of the electronic glove and compliance with the requirements. Integración temporal de sonidos de amplitud modulada y su relación con la integración temporal en bajas frecuencias e infrasonidos.
No full textIn this research work the relation between temporal integration of the human ear for amplitude modulated stimulus and infrasound stimulus is evaluated. Four experiments were carried out, that made use of psychophysics methods, in order to analyze the detection threshold for AM tones at different modulation frequencies, and in order to determine the limit frequency at which subjects can perceive separate events. The results obtained for detection threshold have been compared with previous data on temporal integration for infrasounds, and limit frequencies have been found for AM and infrasound stimuli Finally, one last experiment has been implemented in order to find if there is a relation between auditory and visual temporal processing for the perception of separate events on modulated visual stimulus. The results reveal that detection threshold for AM and infrasound varies considerably for very low frequencies 4 Hz. The perception of separate events for AM tones of different carrier frequencies 12.9 Hz for 1000 Hz carrier and 11.2 Hz for 125 Hz carrier has been found to be very similar to that of the infrasound tones 14.8 Hz for pure tones. After analyzing results for visual stimulus, it has been found that perception of separate events differs from that of the auditory stimulus, nevertheless, there seems to exist a significant positive correlation between these values that suggests there may be a similar temporal process.En este trabajo de investigación se evalúa la integración temporal del oído humano para estímulos de amplitud modulada y su relación con la integración temporal en infrasonidos. Se han planteado 4 experimentos que utilizan métodos psicofísicos para analizar el umbral de detección para tonos AM a distintas frecuencias de modulación, y para determinar la frecuencia límite que permite la discriminación de eventos separados. Los resultados obtenidos para el umbral de detección han sido contrastados con información previa de integración temporal en infrasonidos. La frecuencia límite para detección de eventos separados se ha buscado utilizando estímulos AM y también infrasonidos. Por último, se ha aplicado también un experimento que pretende buscar la relación entre el procesamiento temporal auditivo y visual a través de la percepción de eventos separados para estímulos visuales. Los resultados obtenidos muestran que el umbral de detección para estímulos AM y para infrasonidos es bastante diferente para 4 Hz después de 1000 ms, mostrando que no existe un comportamiento semejante. También se ha identificado que el límite de percepción de eventos separados es muy similar para tonos AM de diferente carrier 12.9 Hz para carrier de 1000 Hz y 11.2 Hz para carrier de 125 Hz y para infrasonidos 14.8 Hz para tonos puros. Al analizar los resultados para estímulos visuales se ha encontrado que los límites si presentan diferencias en comparación con los estímulos auditivos, sin embargo, parecen existir una correlación positiva significativa entre estos valores que sugiere algún tipo de procesamiento similar

No full textWithin this degree work, the Plan for Urban Development of the Eight Semester Projects Workshop 2019 1 is born. It is focused on the consolidation of 9 neighborhoods of the city of Quito: Zaldumbide, Jipijapa, Chaupicruz, Batán Bajo, Voz de los Andes, Iñaquito, Rumipamba, La Carolina and Carolina Park, as an articulator axis. During the diagnosis of the study area, problems and potentials of the environment and site were evaluated to propose solutions, establishing strategies that include new alternative systems of mobility, giving priority to the relations of public transportation, Quito Subway and alternative ways of transport. The work also pretends to articulate green apple areas and wooden networks within clusters, integrating the public space with the continuous user mobility, through the inclusion of new facilities at neighborhood and sectoral levels focused on homes, commerce, culture, health and social welfare, activating activities within the study area and an urban hyper-center. The residence and culture project at La Carolina Sector, seeks to provide multifunctional activities of residence, culture and learning, with spaces of high quality, comfort and social cohesion both public and private. The project complements the network of cultural and educational facilities of the Plan for Urban Development with a focus on housing and a public academic library for young people, students and workers in order for these areas to be an answer to the needs of the residents.Dentro del presente trabajo de titulación, nace del Plan de Ordenamiento Urbano de taller de Proyectos de Octavo semestre 2019 1, él se enfocó en la consolidación de 9 barrios de la ciudad de Quito: Zaldumbide, Jipijapa, Chaupicruz, Batán Bajo, Voz de los Andes, Iñaquito, Rumipamba, La Carolina y Parque Carolina ; como un eje articulador ; durante el diagnóstico del área de estudio se pudo encontrar las problemáticas y potencialidades del entorno y sitio, para proponer una solución , estableciendo estrategias con la inclusión de nuevos sistemas alternativos de movilidad dando importancia a las relaciones de transporte público ,la red del metro de Quito y transporte alternativo. Además el trabajo pretende articular las áreas verdes de corazones de manzana y una red arbolada dentro de los clústers, integrando el espacio público con la movilidad continua del usuario por medio de inclusión de nuevos equipamientos de escala barrial y sectorial con enfoque en vivienda, comercio, cultura, salud y bienestar social activar las actividades dentro del área de estudio e hipercentro urbano. No full textBACKGROUND: Breast pain is a common pain that usually occurs in women during the late luteal phase of the menstrual cycle, ceasing with the onset of menstruation. Women usually experience discomfort (feeling heavy and tender to the touch) in their breasts 3 to 7 days before each period. The pain may present with a moderate to severe stabbing intensity. Pain occurs bilaterally with radiation to the armpit. OBJECTIVE: To compare the effect of manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) vs neuromuscular bandage (VNM) on pain in women with cyclical mastalgia during the period of premenstrual stress. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In this study, 18 women with cyclical mastalgia were summoned during the period of premenstrual stress, distributed in three groups, the first called control group (CG) made up (N = 6) without any type of treatment; second (N = 6), the manual lymphatic drainage technique (GDL) was applied; and third group (N = 6) the neuromuscular bandage (NGV) was applied. The three groups were evaluated with the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and the EQ-5D quality of life questionnaire. RESULTS: Significant differences were found in pain reduction between the posttreatment of the third GDLM session compared to the CG (p = 0.001). With regard to quality of life, the two techniques significantly improved quality of life. However, GDLM improved quality of life to a greater extent compared to CG. CONCLUSIONS: DLM was more effective than NMV in reducing pain and improving the quality of life of patients with cyclic breast pain in the short term. No full textThe study area is located northeast of the city of Quito, Pichincha province, Ecuador. Made up of neighborhoods; El Inca II, El Batán, El Inca I, Gabriela Marina, San José del Inca, El Batan Bajo and May 24. The delimitation of the study area has been carried out taking into account the urban morphology (layout), to the north by De Las Bugambillas street, to the south by Hugo Moncayo street, to the east by Eloy Alfaro avenue and to the west by Paris street. The approach of a retail market responds to the fact that through this space the economy of a sector is reactivated and maintained and at the same time, elements such as supply and demand are prioritized. Its main function is to host mainly commercial and direct transactions between the merchant and the consumer, mainly of food products, being a primary production site for the inhabitants of different sectors of the city. The titling project is located between Av. Eloy Alfaro and Av. De los Granados in addition to calle de los Naranjos, it seeks to enhance this location to strengthen the dynamics and activities existing in the sector through the implementation of a market retailer that responds to the needs of the site and users. The project seeks to be a space for interaction between users who come to purchase food products, in addition to giving ownership of the public space to the pedestrian and that in this way it is the consumer himself who conforms the project, integrating it with the different sales spaces, in addition to potentiating and reactivating commerce within traditional markets, which over time has been lost due to the appearance of large supermarket chains.El área de estudio se encuentra ubicado al nororiente de la ciudad de Quito, provincia de Pichincha, Ecuador. No full textThe business plan worked for the undergraduate program has focused on the development of a complete tailoring service company that serves at the location that is most convenient for the client. The key driver is to leverage on the advantages that current technological features offer. Furthermore, after the analysis of the competitive environment and local industry, a business opportunity was determined given the economic, social, supply and demand characteristics. Moreover, the market research helped corroborate the potential of the business idea and the future clients interests alongside the acceptance of the value proposition. Additionally, after the elaboration of the marketing plan and the minimum required organizational infrastructure, the financial model was built to define the profitability of the idea; the results were not positive. As conclusion, there is potential in the business idea, but the financial model requires adjustments in order to guarantee profits and achieve investors expectations.El plan de negocios que se trabajó para la titulación se enfocó en la creación de un proyecto que brindaría facilidades de sastrería y confección a clientes a domicilio con el soporte y las ventajas tecnológicas con las que se cuentan hoy en día. Tras un extenso análisis del entorno macro y micro, se determinó que existe una oportunidad de negocios por características económicas, sociales, de oferta y demanda. Complementariamente, se realizó una investigación de mercado para corroborar el potencial de la idea de negocio, así como el interés y aceptación de los posibles clientes hacia la propuesta de valor. Tras la definición del plan de marketing y la infraestructura organizacional requerida, se elaboró el modelo financiero para determinar si numéricamente el proyecto es viable; sin embargo, los resultados fueron negativos. Finalmente, como conclusión, se reconoció que la idea de negocio tiene potencial, lo que habría que reajustar es cómo funcionaría financieramente el modelo de negocio para que sus resultados sean atractivos y cumplan con expectativas de los posibles inversores

That is why this business plan aims to make the market known to the market a domestic wastewater purifying liquid with the aim of providing society with a product that protects health, reduces environmental pollution and allows economic savings. For this, a comprehensive research of the country and industry was carried out in order to determine the feasibility of establishing a domestic wastewater purifying liquid production and marketing company.
Initially, an external and internal analysis was performed to recognize the opportunities and threats that the implementation of the product to the market would represent. Likewise, a qualitative and quantitative investigation of potential clients was carried out, with the purpose of knowing the true needs and desires of the consumer when purchasing a cleaning product. In the same way, the marketing strategies to be implemented to publicize the product and the target market to which it will focus were determined.
On the other hand, through a process map, organizational structure and flowchart, it was possible to determine the development of primary and secondary activities, the necessary human and material resources, to carry out the production and distribution process of the product.
Finally, though a five-year projected financial analysis, it was possible to conclude that the proposed business plan is viable, resulting in a NPV for the project of 31.436,38 dollars with an IRR of 22 per cent and for the investor a NPV of 19.662,02 dollars with an IRR of 27 per cent, and a payback time of 3 years with 95 days.En la actualidad el mundo está pasando por una difícil situación sanitaria, lo que todos conocemos como Covid-19 declarada pandemia mundial por la OMS..
