Sebuah PEMUPUKAN N-P-K DAN POC TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN, FISIOLOGI DAN HASIL TANAMAN JEWAWUT (Setaria Italica)
Jewawut (Setaria italica) is a cereal plant that has characteristics like rice. The use of millet as food has not been optimal for production. Millet production can be influenced by several factors, including soil conditions, plant varieties, climate and cultivation techniques. The aim of this research is to reduce the use of inorganic N-P-K fertilizers and obtain the optimal N-P-K fertilization dosage with a combination of Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) treatment. The research was done on dry land in Purwanegara Village, North Purwokerto District and in the Laboratory at the Faculty of Agriculture Jenderal Soedirman University, begin at May 2019 until October 2019. The research design was a randomized block design (RBD). There are two factors was be examined, the dose of N-P-K fertilizer and the concentration of two types of POC. The recommended dosage of N-P-K fertilizer for millet is N 138 kg / ha, P2O5 54 kg/ha, and K2O 45 kg/ha. The N-P-K fertilization treatment was divided into 25%, 50%, 75% 100%. Combined with LOF consisting of control, bamboo root LOF concentrations of 5 ml/l and 10 ml/l, Rabbit urine LOF 50% with concentrations of 2 ml / l and 4ml / l. The results showed that the growth characters due to application of 50% N-P-K fertilization equal with 100% N-P-K on plant height. Application of 50% N-P-K gained the optimum of flowering age and yield per hectare. Liquid organic fertilizer had not improved on growth and yield of foxtail millet yet.Jewawut (Setaria italic) merupakan tanaman serealia yang memiliki karakteristik seperti padi yaitu memproduksi biji. Pemanfaatan tanaman jewawut sebagai pangan belum optimal produksinya. Produksi jewawut dapat dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, diantaranya adalah kondisi tanah, varietas tanaman, iklim dan teknik budidaya. Tujuan dalam penelitian yaitu untuk menekan penggunaan pupuk N-P-K anorganik dan mendapatkan dosis pemupukan N-P-K yang optimal dengan kombinasi perlakuan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) dan mengetahui dampak pemupukan pada bakteri potensial pemacu produksi tanaman. Dosis pupuk N-P-K rekomendasi tanaman jawawut yaitu N 138 kg/ha, P2O5 54 kg/ha, dan K2O 45 kg/ha. Perlakuan pemupukan N-P-K dibagi menjadi 25%, 50%, 75% 100%. Dikombinasikan dengan POC yang terdiri dari kontrol, konsentrasi So-Kontan 5 ml/l dan 10 ml/l, POC Urin Kelinci 50% dengan konsentrasi 2 ml/l dan 4ml/l. Hasil analisis ragam pada karakter pertumbuhan pemupukan N-P-K 50% menghasilkan komponen tinggi tanaman terbaik. KARAKTER AGRONOMI DAN FISIOLOGI TANAMAN PADI (Oryza sativa L. cv Inpari Unsoed 79 Agritan) YANG TERINFEKSI Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae DAN DIINOKULASI RHIZOBACTERIA INDIGENOUS LAHAN SALIN
One of the goals of Indonesia's rice improvement program is to develop high-yielding varieties with long and slender rice grains. This study aimed to estimate the genetic parameters affecting gene action, amount of gene action, number of gene control, magnitude of genetic variability, heritability, genetic advance, and correlations between yield components and yield of Inpari 31 x Basmati Delta 9 in the F2 generation. The experiment was carried out at an experimental farm at the Faculty of Agriculture, Jenderal Soedirman University, Purwokerto, Central Java, Indonesia. The genetic material used was seed from an F2 population crossed between Inpari 31 and Basmati Delta 9 with the two parental genotypes. Estimates of skewness, kurtosis, genetic variability, heritability, genetic advance, correlations between traits and path analysis were calculated for yield and yield component traits. Results show that additive and complementary epistatic action control yield-related and yield traits. Yield-related trait components and yield are controlled by a monogenic or polygenic genes, depending on the observed trait. Wide genetic variability, high broad sense heritability and high genetic advance were found in the number of productive tillers per hill and grain weight per panicle. These traits show a significant positive correlation and have a direct effect on the yield; therefore, they can be used as traits in the selection to produce high-yielding rice, with long rice sizes and slender shapes.
Rhizobacteria are a group of rhizosphere bacteria that lives in the soil around plant roots. The halotolerant Rhizobacteria that live in saline soil can colonize the plant's rhizosphere in the presence of root exudates. The association of rhizobacteria and plant roots can promote plant growth and resistance to leaf blight disease attacks in rice through the production of IAA phytohormones at the root and stimulate the induction systemic resistance of the plant. This research aims to examine the effect of Rhizobacteria indigenous saline inoculation on paddy growth and yield and obtain Rhizobacteria isolates that effectively increase paddy growth and yield and reduce the development of rice leaf blight disease in high salinity conditions. The research was conducted at the Agronomy and Horticulture Laboratory, Bacteriology Laboratory, and Screen House Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture UNSOED in March – June 2021. The study was applied a single-factor Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 9 treatment levels and repeated 3 times. The treatments that were tested in this study included control, control of Xoo infection, and inoculation of isolates JA1, JB1, JB2, JD1, JE1, R08, R011 infected with Xoo bacteria on AB Mix liquid medium with salinity content (EC) of 5.5 dS.m-1. Inoculation of Rhizobacteria isolates was able to increase paddy (Inpari Unsoed 79 Agritan) growth in plant biomass, total root length, leaf area, leaf chlorophyll content, net assimilation rate (NAR), number of tillers, and plant height of rice respectively by 142.5%, 106.9%, 68.2%, 34.3%, 64.7%, 61.7%, and 23.7%. Inoculation of Rhizobacteria isolates was able to increase rice yields in grain weight per clump, the weight of 1000 seeds, and harvest index by 47.5%, 10%, and 18,5%. In addition, inoculation of Rhizobacteria isolates was able to reduce grain voidness by 15% and suppress the intensity of leaf blight disease by 12.4%
THE PRODUCTION OF PEDADA FRUIT JAM (SUBSTITUTION OF PEDADA FRUIT) (Sonneratia caseolaris)) WITH HAWAIIAN PAPAYA (Carica papaya L.)
The purpose of this study is to find out how mangrove apple jam is made (mangrove apple (Sonneratia caseolaris) substituted with Hawaiian papaya (Carica papayaL.)). Mangrove apple jam is made through several processes which includes the preparation of ingredients, fruit smoothing, heating or cooking, and the addition of sugar that is 40% of the overall weight of the ingredients. The cooking process of the jam takes 15 minutes in 105°C temperature while being constantly stirred until it becomes thick. The method used for this study is chemical testing by analyzing the water content, ash content, the total acidity and pH. The calculation results show that the mangrove apple jam, mangrove apple (Sonneratia caseolaris) being substituted with Hawaiian papaya (Carica papaya L.) given the 50%:50% treatment was the best treatment possible. THE EFFECT OF DIFFERENT ADSORBING AGENT AS PURIFIER ON SMOKED-COPRA OIL CHARACTERISTIC
Efforts that can be made in clarifying copra oil made by the smoking method are absorption by adsorbents such as activated charcoal, zeolite, and bleaching earth. The adsorbent can be used for decolourizing and deodorizing. This research aims to determine the characteristics of purified smoked copra oil using different absorbents. Copra oil is weighed properly and the weight is recorded. Each absorbent material as much as 5% (w/w) of oil is added to the oil which has been heated at 70°C. Purification was carried out for 2 hours at a temperature of 70-75°C. The purification process is carried out in one stage. The oil is then filtered using filter paper (separating absorbent material and pure oil). The oil obtained was then subjected to free fatty acid (ALB) and organoleptic analysis. Based on the research results, purification with zeolite adsorbent resulted in the largest ALB reduction with a decrease value of 39.71%. Judging from the organoleptic characteristics, zeolite can significantly reduce the intensity of the brown color, the intensity of the coconut aroma, and the intensity of the rancid aroma. Activated charcoal can significantly reduce the intensity of the brown color, the aroma of smoke, the distinctive aroma of coconut and the rancid aroma of copra oil, while bleaching earth provides a marked reduction in the intensity of the brown color of the oil which at the same time provides a significant increase in oil clarity. The use of absorbent materials can affect the characteristics of smoked copra oil so that it has the potential to improve the quality of smoked copra oil
Respon Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Tanaman Padi Fungsional Terhadap Penambahan Sekam Dalam Budidaya Soilless
The soaring level of public consumption and the decrease in the area of cultivated land forced farmers to innovate. One of the efforts to increase healthy food production is to utilize functional rice with soilless cultivation methods. This study aimed to examine the best water and husk ratio in soilless cultivation of two functional rice varieties. This study used a completely randomized factorial design (RALF) with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor was water and husk soilless media with a ratio of 6:1, 8:1, 10:1, 12:1, and 14:1, while the second factor was the Watu dodol A3 and Merah A2 varieties. The results showed that the 8:1 soilless water and husk media gave the highest performance on the number of panicle grains (231,5 grains) and the number of rice panicle grains (205,67 grains). In addition, there were significant differences in plant height, productive tillers, and panicle length between Watu dodol A3 and Merah A2.Melonjaknya tingkat konsumsi masyarakat dan penurunan luasan lahan budidaya mengharuskan petani untuk berinovasi. Salah satu upaya peningkatan produksi pangan sehat adalah memanfaatkan padi fungsional dengan metode budidaya soilless. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji perbandingan air dan sekam yang terbaik dalam budidaya soilless pada dua varietas padi fungsional. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap faktorial (RALF) dengan 2 faktor dan 3 ulangan. Faktor pertama yaitu media soilless air dan sekam dengan perbandingan 6:1, 8:1, 10:1, 12:1, dan 14:1, sedangkan faktor kedua yaitu varietas Watu dodol A3 dan Merah A2. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media soilless air dan sekam 8:1 memberikan performa tertinggi pada jumlah gabah permalai (231,50 bulir) dan jumlah gabah bernas permalai (205,67 bulir). Selain itu terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada tinggi tanaman, anakan produktif, dan panjang malai antara Watu dodol A3 dengan Merah A2
Characteristics of Redestilled Dried Banana Leaves Liquid Smoke
Banana leaves belong to the waste products of the banana plant and are a potential source of liquid smoke due to their abundance, containing 10.85% cellulose, 19.95% hemicellulose and 18.21% lignin. Liquid smoke has many uses, including as an antibacterial agent and food preservative. The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of the liquid smoke from redistilled dried banana leaves. The process of making liquid smoke by pyrolysis, precipitation, distillation, and adsorption with activated zeolites. Liquid smoke is then physically observed for color and flavor, tested for compound content using GC-MS tests, and analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the liquid smoke from redistilled dried banana leaves had a mild taste and pale yellow color. was found to contain 13.09% area, carbonyls in 1.42% area, and no HPA compounds.
Optimasi Amonia (NH3) dan Asap Cair Sekam Padi Terhadap Waktu Prakoagulasi dan Koagulasi Lateks:
This study aims to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of ammonia as an anticoagulant agent and rice husk liquid smoke which is optimal as a coagulant agent in latex. This research consists of 2 observations. The first observation was made by adding variations in the concentration of ammonia to the liquid latex sample and observing the precoagulation time. In the first observation sample, ammonia was added at a concentration of 2%, 2.5%, and 3% respectively and then observed. The two latex observation samples that had been added with ammonia with an ammonia concentration of 2%, 2.5% and 3% were then added with liquid smoke with a volume of 2 mL, 4 mL, and 6 mL. The first observation results obtained showed that the concentration of ammonia used as an anti-coagulant agent 2% was able to prevent coagulation for 10.1 hours, 2.5% ammonia concentration for 12.0 hours, and 3% concentration for 13.0 hours. Whereas in the second observation to determine the optimal value of the ammonia concentration and liquid smoke volume used to get the optimal ammonia concentration and liquid smoke volume. The results obtained based on the results of the Response Surface Methode analysis, the optimum ammonia concentration that is good to use is 2% and a volume of 4.87 mL of liquid smoke with a coagulant retention time of 2.07 hours. The results of the second observation validation showed that the ammonia concentration and volume of liquid smoke suggested by the software resulted in a coagulant retention time of 2.05 hours.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi kosentrasi amonia sebagai zat antikoagulan dan asap cair sekam padi yang optimal sebagai zat koagulan pada lateks. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 pengamatan. Pengamatan pertama dilakukan dengan menambahkan variasi konsentrasi amonia pada sampel lateks cair dan diamati waktu prakoagulasi. Pada sampel pengamatan pertama masing-masing ditambahkan amonia dengan konsentrasi 2%, 2,5%, dan 3% dan selanjutnya diamati. Sampel pengamatan kedua lateks yang telah ditambahkan amonia dengan konsentrasi amonia 2%, 2,5% dan 3% lalu ditambahkan asap cair dengan volume 2 mL, 4 mL, dan 6 mL. Hasil pengamatan pertama yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi amonia yang digunakan sebagai zat anti koagulan 2% mampu mencegah koagulasi selama 10,1 jam, konsentrasi amonia 2,5% selama 12,0 jam, dan konsentrasi 3% selama 13,0 jam. Sedangkan pada pengamatan kedua untuk menentukan nilai optimal dari konsentrasi amonia dan volume asap cair yang digunakan untuk mendaptkan konsentrasi amonia dan volem asap cair yang optimal. Hasil yang didapatkan berdasarkan hasil analisis Response Surface Methode, konsentrasi amonia optimum yang baik digunakan adalah 2% dan volume asap cair 4,87 mL dengan waktu retensi koagulan selama 2,07 jam. Hasil validasi pengamatan kedua menunjukkan bahwa dengan konsentrasi amonia dan volume asap cair yang disarankan oleh Software menghasilkan waktu retensi koagulan selama 2,05 jam
Konsumsi Pangan dan Pemanfaatan Pekarangan Pada Masa Pandemi Covid–19 di Kecamatan Kasihan, Kabupaten Bantul, DIY
One of the areas affected by the Covid-19 pandemic is Kasihan District, Bantul, DIY. Covid-19 in Kasihan has not only impacted the health sector but has also caused massive economic disruption. This research aims to determine food consumption patterns and utilization of yards during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research was conducted from March to April 2022 with an observation location in Kasihan Bantul, using survey techniques, distributing questionnaires, and interviewing the community. Data were obtained from 152 respondents from 4 sub-districts and 53 hamlets, which were then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the food consumption pattern of the people in Kapanewon Kasihan Bantul during the Covid-19 pandemic experienced slight changes, with a decrease in the level of food fulfillment by 1.32% and an increase in the frequency of consuming fruit and vegetables. The yard in Kapanewon Kasihan Bantul has been used by the community for plant cultivation, livestock, and fish farming for a long time and has not changed during the Covid-19 pandemic. The yard in Kapanewon Kasihan Bantul has not been effective in meeting food needs and increasing family income during the Covid-19 pandemic.Salah satu daerah yang terdampak pandemi Covid–19 adalah Kecamatan Kasihan, Bantul, DIY. Covid–19 di Kasihan tidak hanya berdampak pada sektor kesehatan, tetapi juga menimbulkan gangguan ekonomi yang masif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola konsumsi pangan dan pola pemanfaatan pekarangan selama pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret hingga April 2022 dengan lokasi pengamatan di Kasihan, Bantul. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik survei, penyebaran kuesioner, dan wawancara dengan masyarakat. Data diperoleh dari 152 responden dari 4 kalurahan dan 53 padukuhan, yang selanjutnya dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pola konsumsi pangan masyarakat di Kapanewon Kasihan Bantul selama masa pandemi Covid–19 mengalami sedikit perubahan dengan penurunan tingkat pemenuhan pangan sebesar 1,32% dan kenaikan frekuensi mengkonsumsi buah dan sayur-sayuran. Pekarangan di Kapanewon Kasihan Bantul sudah dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat untuk budidaya tanaman, beternak dan budidaya ikan sejak lama, dan tidak mengalami perubahan selama pandemi Covid–19. Pemanfaatan pekarangan di Kapanewon Kasihan Bantul belum efektif untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pangan dan menambah pendapatan keluarga selama masa pandemi Covid–19
Case Report of Uterine Prolapse in Cattle
A 4-years-old female brahman cross cow in PT. Indo Prima Beef II presented a pink to dark brown mass protruding from vagina, hanging to the back of the body after parturition. The cow diagnosed with uterine prolapse. Uterine prolapse is a change in the position of the uterus out through the vagina and hangs on the vulva. Minor surgery needed to reposition a pink to dark brown mass protruding from the vagina in a purse-string pattern but before the surgery performed, an epidural anesthetic lidocaine compositum injection is given at dose of 5mg/kg. Treatment using antibiotic injection of Penstrep-400 LA 1ml/10kg and vitamin injection of Biosan TP 20ml/cow at post-surgery was well tolerated. Cow was declared healthy and estrus in sixty days after treatment
Tingkat Kejadian Kecacingan pada Sapi Potong di Peternakan Rakyat Kecamatan Seputih Raman
Factors that influence the success of a cattle breeding business are seeds, feed and health management in the form of disease control. The disease that often occurs in cattle is helminthiasis. This research was to analyze an incidence of helminthiasis in beef cattle. The research used an observation method. Data collection was done by taking all fecal samples from 391 beef cattle in Seputih Raman sub-district. A fecal samples examination checked with Mc. Master and Sedimentation test at Veterinary Laboratory of Lampung. The results indicated that the incidence rate of helminthiasis in beef cattle at smallholder farms in Seputih Raman sub-district was about 45,27%. The highest incidence found in Rama Dewa village is about 84,00%. Helminths specie found in beef cattle at smallholder farm in Seputih Raman sub-district are from Nematode class (Haemonchus sp. is 3,3%, Trichostrogylus sp is 1,5%, Mecistocirus sp. is 2,3%, Trichuris sp.is 0,5% and Oesophagostomum sp. is 6,6%), Trematode class (Paramphistomum sp is 28,1% and Fasciola sp. is 14,8% and Cestode class (Hymonlepis spp. Is 0,5% and Moniezia sp. is 2,0%. The highest incidence was found in Paramphistomum sp species about 28,1%.
