Women in politics facing harassment: two stories and three on-screen representations
Intimidad (Netflix, 2022), Nevenka (Netflix, 2021), y Soy Nevenka

industrias hispanoamericana
Changes of the Chilean telenovela industry in the Digital Age
participación observante (Agüero et al., 2019;
narrativa digital (Alexander, 2017; Lambert &
Hessler, 2018). Los resultados muestran cómo la
digitalización ha introducido nuevas
herramientas y prácticas a niveles narrativos, de
distribución y consumo debido a su expansión a
plataformas de streaming, con “tropos digitales”
que han redefinido la industria, y presentado
nuevos desafíos en la producción, distribución y

Sensory Reactivity Among School-Age Children and Parental Stress: Findings From the Population-Based InProS Study
Importance: Differences in children's sensory reactivity (SR) may contribute to increased parental stress levels.
Objective: To examine the association between SR differences and parental stress among parents of children ages 3 to 7 yr.
Design: Cross-sectional.
Setting: Population-based study.
Participants: A total of 466 parents and their typically developing school-age children from 21 randomly selected schools in Alicante, Spain.
Outcomes and measures: Parental stress was assessed using the short version of the Parental Stress Scale, a 12-item Likert-scale questionnaire (1 = strongly disagree, 5 = strongly agree) on which higher scores indicate higher stress levels. SR was measured using the Short Sensory Profile, classifying children as showing or not showing SR differences using established cutoffs. Multiple linear regression models adjusted for potential confounders were used to explore the associations.
Results: Global SR differences were associated with increased parental stress in both fathers (β = 2.71, 95% confidence interval [CI] [1.40, 4.03]) and mothers (β = 2.74, 95% CI [1.47, 4.00]). Associations were also observed for mothers and fathers, respectively, in several sensory domains: Tactile Sensitivity (β = 2.20, 95% CI [0.43, 3.97]; β = 1.84, 95% CI [0.02, 3.66]), Underresponsive/Seeks Sensation (β = 1.84, 95% CI [0.71, 2.97]; β = 1. 74, 95% CI [0.58; 2.90]), Auditory Filtering (β = 2.61, 95% CI [1.49, 3.72]; β = 2.18, 95% CI [1.02, 3.34]), Low Energy/Weak (β = 2.09, 95% CI [0.40, 3.78]; β = 1.94, 95% CI [0.19, 3.68]), and Visual/Auditory sensitivity (β = 1.61, 95% CI [0.33, 2.90]; β = 2.59, 95% CI [1.27, 3.90]).
Conclusions and relevance: SR differences among children are associated with increased stress levels for both parents, underscoring the need for family-centered support. Plain-Language Summary: Children respond to sensory experiences-such as touch, sound, or movement-differently. Some children may be more sensitive to certain stimuli, less responsive, or seek out intense sensations. This study explored whether differences in how children react to sensory input are linked to higher stress levels in their parents. Researchers surveyed 466 parents of children ages 3 to 7 yr and found that both mothers and fathers reported more stress when their children showed noticeable differences in sensory reactivity. Specific sensory challenges-such as tactile sensitivity, reduced responsiveness, and difficulty processing sounds-were particularly associated with increased parental stress. These findings highlight the importance of family-centered support to help parents manage sensory-related challenges. Occupational therapy practitioners can play a key role in providing guidance and strategies to reduce parental stress and improve family well-being
Impact of cold storage on semen quality in two divergent rabbit lines selected for resilience under heat stress condition
Artificial insemination in rabbit farms is commonly performed using either fresh semen or doses stored at 14–18 ◦C for up to 3 days. However, exposure to elevated temperatures can impair sperm motility, concentration, and
overall semen quality. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of cold storage on semen from two rabbit genetic
lines divergently selected for resilience to thermal stress. A total of 254 ejaculates from 46 males belonging to the
HE line (selected for reduced litter size variability) and the HO line (selected for increased litter size variability)
were analyzed. Sperm motility and kinematic parameters, viability, acrosome reaction, reactive oxygen species
(mROS), and mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) were assessed. Bayesian methods were applied for
statistical analysis. In fresh semen, both lines showed similar proportions of motile and progressive spermatozoa
under both comfort and heat stress conditions. In contrast, after refrigeration, the HO line maintained higher
motility than the HE line under comfort (75.3% vs. 66.0%; P = 94%) and heat stress conditions (85.3% vs.
75.7%; P = 97%). The HO line also exhibited a higher proportion of fast progressive spermatozoa in fresh semen
under comfort (22.2% vs. 17.5%; P = 96%) and heat stress (22.4% vs. 18.1%; P = 93%) conditions. Conversely,
mitochondrial activity was reduced in the HO line compared to the HE line under heat stress (56.9% vs. 67.1%; P
= 95%). These findings suggest that genetic selection for resilience in rabbits could improve the preservation and
functional quality of refrigerated semen, particularly under thermal stress

Use of DMU e-Parasitology in a West African university.
Following the devastating effects of the 2013-16 ebola outbreak on the Sierra Leonean public health system, De Montfort University (DMU, UK) is leading a project to build the teaching and research capabilities of medical parasitology at the University of Makeni (UniMak, Sierra Leone). A DMU researcher visited UniMak for two weeks in April 2019 and provided a voluntary short training course (theoretical and practical) in basic parasitology, using our novel web-based resource DMU e-Parasitology® (http://parasitology.dmu.ac.uk/index.htm), which is little taught in their programmes. Following this training, UniMak’s academics offered a voluntary practical to study the presence of coccidian human parasites in farm pig stool samples to final year students enrolled in the degree of ‘Public Health: Medical Laboratory Sciences’. Nine of the eighteen students that attended the practical provided feedback: 88.9% (22.2% agreed, 66.7% strongly agreed) indicated that the videos displaying how to perform the Kinyoun stain facilitated their learning; and only 11.1% indicated that the web-based resources did not help them to perform the Kinyoun stain. Our results would indicate that the DMU e-Parasitology® is an appropriate resource to introduce and facilitate the teaching of emerging and opportunistic parasitic diseases in a low-income university
Effect of deficit irrigation strategies on the elemental composition of “Mirlo Rojo” apricot cultivated in Spain
Background: Deficit irrigation (DI) is a key strategy for optimizing water use in agriculture, particularly in regions
affected by climate change. This study evaluates the effects of four DI regimes (100 %, 66 %, 33 %, and 0 % of
crop evapotranspiration) on the elemental profile of "Mirlo Rojo" apricots (Prunus armeniaca L.) cultivated in
southeastern Spain.
Methodology: Essential (B, Ca, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, Na, P, and Zn) and non-essential elements (As, Cr, Pb, and Rb)
were quantified by ICP MS following microwave-assisted acid digestion. Data analysis employed Kruskal-Wallis
test and Spearman’s rank correlation (bivariate analysis). Method validity was confirmed by 80 %-120 % recovery rates.
Results: Seven elements varied significantly (B, Cu, Fe, Na, P, Pb, Rb), while major elements (K, Ca, Mg), Mn and
Zn remained stable. K, the most abundant element, peaked at 18,200 mg/kg (33 % DI). As was undetectable and
Pb (0.11–0.13 mg/kg) remained below current European regulatory limits, regardless of DI. Non-monotonic
responses and significant element correlations were observed, suggesting complex soil-plant interactions.
Conclusion: DI did not appear to compromise fruit safety or nutritional value. The element stability under water
stress supports the potential of DI as a sustainable water management practice without increasing potentially
toxic elements
Predictive modelling links exercise dependence to associated psychological and behavioral risk factors
Exercise Dependence (ED) refers to uncontrollable, excessive exercise with harmful effects on life. This study used machine learning to identify behavioral and psychological factors contributing to ED risk. A multi-step procedure was implemented for model construction and validation, utilizing controlled feature selection and bootstrapping. Data were collected over three time points in diverse contexts (GR2021-22-23), recruiting 1099 participants (707 males, 64.3 %; 392 females, 35.7 %) with an average age of 24.8 ± 7.8 years. Based on the Exercise Dependence Scale-Revised (EDS-R), 5.6 % (n = 62) were classified as "At Risk" of ED, 50.9 % (n = 559) as "Non-Dependent-Symptomatic," and 43.5 % (n = 478) as "Non-Dependent-Asymptomatic." The final model predicted the GR2023 dataset with MAE = 6.90, R2 = 0.59, and RE = 9.08 %. Predictive performance on the GR2022 dataset was MAE = 5.65, R2 = 0.79, and RE = 6.73 %, while performance on the GR2021 dataset achieved MAE = 7.60, R2 = 0.58, and RE = 7.24 %. Perfectionism consistently emerged as the most important predictors, followed by Drive for Thinness, Drive for Muscularity, and sport characteristics. Result generalization was confirmed by a complementary, whole-data analysis. This study establishes a foundation for developing quantitative risk profiles for ED by analyzing multidimensional constructs and their contributions through interpretable machine learning. The methodology offers insights into how personality, psychological, and behavioral dimensions shape risk attitudes and provides robust predictive tools for assessing ED risk in sports contexts
