The Effect of Tax Relief Regulations on Dividend Policy of Publicly Listed Companies in Indonesia

    No full text
This study aims to analyze the impact of tax relief regulations, effective since 2021, on the dividend policies of publicly listed companies in Indonesia. We use panel data covering a three-year period before and after the implementation of the tax relief. This study uses a total of 413 listed companies, resulting in 2489 observations over the six-year research period. Logit regression and fixed-effect regression analyses are employed to identify the effects on the number of companies distributing dividends and the total dividends distributed, with firm-specific characteristics used as control variables. The logit regression results indicate that tax relief does not lead to a significant increase in the number of companies distributing dividends. However, there is a significant increase in the dividend levels among dividend-paying companies. To further encourage dividend distribution, the government can optimize existing regulations by considering criteria for tax relief eligibility based on dividend distribution activities. These findings can also serve as a consideration for investors when constructing their portfolios and for companies when designing dividend policies

INFORMATION INTEGRITY AND ELECTORAL CHOICES: UNDERSTANDING THE DYNAMIC OF NEWS, POLITICAL BRANDING, AND VOTING INTENTION

    No full text
This study explores the relationship between news truthfulness, news credibility, source credibility, political brand trust, political brand image, and voting intention. The objective of this study is to understand how those factors collectively influence voters' perception and behavior. Using a quantitative approach, the data was collected through online surveys of 250 eligible voters in Indonesia, analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results indicate that news truthfulness significantly increases both political brand trust and image. Meanwhile, source credibility positively influences trust, but does not notably affect brand image. Interestingly, news credibility increases political brand image without directly affecting trust. Furthermore, political brand image plays an important role in shaping voting intention, whereas political brand trust does not show a direct effect. By integrating those dimensions of political branding into one model, this study fills the gap in existing research and provides insights into the dynamics of voter behavior. This study suggests that political entities prioritize maintaining news truthfulness and the improvement of source credibility to build trust and create a positive brand image. Additionally political campaigns should adapt their communication strategies so that it is in line with the voter’s expectation in this complex media landscape for effective engagement and influence on electoral outcomes

    Axiomatization of Transit Flow Estimation

    No full text
Transit flows between stations are typically estimated indirectly using fare collecting data rather than through direct measurement. Traditional methods approximate transit flows by adapting Origin-Destination (OD) trip estimation techniques. However, these approaches have two significant limitations. First, transit link flows represent the number of passengers remaining within the transit vehicles between stations, while OD flows specifically represent passengers entering at one station and exiting at another station. Second, traditional methods rely on the assumption that a cost function is necessary without providing mathematical justification. Consequently, there lacks a robust theoretical foundation explicitly tailored for transit flow estimation.  This paper addresses this gap by developing an axiomatic framework based on the Ideal Flow Network. Through systematic mathematical derivations, we identify key balance conditions and necessary constraints to achieve more accurate transit flow estimation

    No full text

HARNESSING ENTREPRENEURIAL BRICOLAGE FOR MSME’S SUCCESS: INNOVATION AND ADAPTATION AT TANJUNG PENYU BEACH

    No full text
This study explores the role of bricolage as a strategic mechanism in the entrepreneurial success of MSMEs at Tanjung Penyu Beach, Malang, which has transformed from an agricultural area into a tourist destination. This research addresses a gap in the literature, which has paid limited attention to the application of bricolage in the context of land-use changes and MSMEs adaptation in the tourism sector of developing countries. Most previous studies have focused on bricolage in the context of technological innovation or large-scale businesses, while its role in supporting MSMEs adaptation in resource-constrained regions remains underexplored. Using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, this research identifies how MSMEs in the region creatively utilize local resources following the conversion of agricultural land into a tourism site, providing opportunities for farmers to adapt to environmental changes. This research introduces new insights into how bricolage can be used as a flexible adaptation strategy to address changes in the business environment in developing coastal areas. The findings indicate that bricolage techniques enhance product innovation, leverage social networks, and create new value for MSMEs. However, a major challenge is the promotional strategy, which remains limited to local media, hindering the potential to attract more visitors. The study aims to provide new perspectives on how bricolage techniques can help MSMEs overcome resource constraints, innovate, and capitalize on opportunities in a dynamic context. This study offers insights into how bricolage can help overcome resource constraints and adapt to market changes, highlighting the need for more effective digital promotion strategies to enhance the appeal of Tanjung Penyu Beach as a tourist destination and maximize the success of MSMEs in the area

Gereja Katolik Santo Yusuf di Singkil, Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, memiliki kebutuhan dasar pengembangan ruang ibadah baru akibat pelebaran Jalur Jalan Lintas Selatan Pulau Jawa.

Performance Analysis of Eccentrically Braced Frames (EBF) using Metallic Yielding Damper (MYD) with Hysteretic Steel Damper (HSD) Type

    No full text
Eccentrically Braced Frames (EBFs) are earthquake-resistant steel structures with excellent shear capacity and ductility. During earthquakes, the EBF link yields first, protecting other structural elements. Traditionally, the link is integrated with the main beam and separated by bracing. However, if the link is damaged, replacing the entire beam becomes necessary. To address this, a vertical link design allows for link replacement without altering the beam section. This study evaluates two vertical link options: a Wide Flange (WF) link section and a Hysteretic Steel Damper (HSD) type Metallic Yielding Damper. Results suggest the WF link is preferable due to superior shear capacity and energy dissipation compared to the HSD link. The findings recommend the WF link for vertical link EBFs to optimize earthquake performance

Utilization of Steel Aggregate and Iron Sand as Heavyweight Concrete for Gamma Radiation Shielding

    No full text
This study aims to produce a homogenous and workable conventional heavyweight concrete (HWC) with similar performance as pre-placed HWC in attenuating radiation by increasing the concrete density with no risk of segregation. HWC was mixed using steel aggregate and iron sand with a specific gravity of 7.78 and 4.14, respectively. A w/c ratio of 0.5 was applied to obtain proper workability and viscosity modifying agent (VMA) was used to prevent segregation. The radiation tests were carried out using 133Ba (356 keV), 137Cs (662 keV), and 60Co (1170 keV & 1330 keV) gamma sources. The results obtained a concrete density of 5133.07 kg/m3 with no sign of segregation and a compressive strength of 18.61 MPa. Based on the radiation test, the conventional HWC was effective in reducing the shielding thickness by 50.41%. Our findings provide a workable conventional HWC with high gamma attenuation to replace an enormous dimension of normal concrete

Evaluation of Infiltration Models with Double Ring Infiltrometer Test on Residual Soil in Kulonprogo, Indonesia

    No full text
The hydraulic conductivity of soil is an essential parameter for evaluating the slope instability triggered by rain infiltration. This research uses a Double-Ring Infiltrometer (DRI) at five locations to estimate the hydraulic conductivity from a field infiltration test. Four infiltration models were examined to estimate hydraulic conductivity, including Green–Ampt, Kostiakov, Horton, and Philips equations. Curve fitting on the infiltration rate–time plots were computed with the least square error to determine the infiltration parameters using Levenberg–Marquardt algorithm. The basic infiltration rate ranges from 6.88 mm/h to 721.5 8 mm/h.  The Horton and Philips infiltration model provides better statistical performance to estimate the infiltration rate. The estimated hydraulic conductivity from the four infiltration models results in a relative convergence value; however, the estimation results in more biased hydraulic conductivity at locations containing clay fraction and high-plasticity silt, especially for Green–Ampt and Philip infiltration models
