Централизация сети библиотек в Волгоградской области (1960-1970 гг.)
Get PDFIn the period of 1960-ies and 1970-ies the key direction of state policy in the area of development of library system of the country was libraries centralization. In the article on the basis of archival sources and publications was disclosed the process of centralization of the network of public mass libraries in Volgograd region during that period. Volgograd Region in 1967 became the place of experiment on centralization. Based on study of the archival documents it is given the description of experiment on centralization in the Kamyshin town. There are presented the main results. On the basis of analysis of the documentary material there was revealed that the process of centralization of the library system in Volgograd region was completed by 1980. There were analyzed and described the characteristic features of centralization process in Volgograd region. Centralization influenced the structure of the library network, organization of libraries activities and ensured their availability to practically entire population of the Volgograd region. Centralization of the library system resulted in considerable qualitative changes, presented in the article. There are analyzed positive and negative features of centralization. Despite the negative results, the centralization had undeniable advantages, thanks to which the libraries could have reached the new level of development. Identified and justified the need for centralization of library network. Largely centralization had success in the system of libraries of the Ministry of Culture of the USSR. Unification of libraries of the Volgograd region on the principles of centralization has enabled improvement of libraries management. There is shown the importance of state policy in the process of centralization of libraries.В 1960-1970-е гг. ключевым направлением государственной политики по развитию библио-течной системы Союза Советских Социалистических Республик (СССР) стала их централизация. В статье на основе архивных источников и публикаций раскрыт процесс централизации сети государственных массовых библиотек Волгоградской области в данный период. Волгоградская область в 1967 г. стала местом проведения эксперимента по централизации. На основании изученных архивных документов дается характеристика проводимого эксперимента по централизации в городе Камышине. Описаны его основные результаты. На основе анализа документального материала было выявлено, что процесс централизации библиотечной сети Волгоградской области был завершен к 1980 г., проанализированы характерные особенности данного процесса. Централизация повлияла на структуру библиотечной сети, на организацию деятельности библиотек и обеспечила их доступность практически для всего населения Волгоградской области. Показаны качественные изменения, которые внесла централизация библиотечной сети. Проанализированы положительные и отрицательные стороны централизации. Несмотря на отрицательные результаты, централизация имела неоспоримые достоинства, благодаря которым библиотеки могли выходить на новый уровень развития. Выявлена и обоснована необходимость дальнейшего проведения централизации библиотечной сети. В значительной степени централизация имела успех в системе библиотек Министерства культуры СССР. Объединение библиотек Волгоградской области на принципах централизации позволило улучшить управление библиотеками. Показано значение государственной политики в процессе централизации библиотек

Get PDFThe article analyzes the role of Google Book Search, the largest corporate repository of infor-mation with the subordinate function of pay wall, in the development of new institutional paradigm of e-libraries. It is noted the negative reaction of foreign library community to the functioning of the IT-giant book service as an attempt of monopolizing the access to intellectual heritage. It is described the public benefit concept, triggering the formation of new electronic archives. The article examines the alternative experience of formation and functioning of some foreign digital libraries: HathiTrust Digital Library, Europeana, Digital Public Library of America, Internet Archive, - putting forward the priority of non-commercial access to databases. Attention is paid to the history and basic structural parameters of the emerging electronic collections. The article analyzes the dynamics of relationship of the new digital libraries with Google book service - from active cooperation in digiti-zation programs to opposition against information monopoly practice, and then to sporadic cooperation in the framework of special projects, promoting new format of providing information services. Attention is focused on the development of new principles of collective cooperation of digital libraries abroad in the process of building infrastructure of the information society.В статье анализируется роль Google Book Search, крупнейшего корпоративного хранилища информации с подчиненной функцией платного доступа, в выработке новой институциональной парадигмы электронных библиотек. Отмечается негативная реакция зарубежного библиотечного сообщества на функционирование книжного сервиса IT-гиганта как попытки монополизации доступа к интеллектуальному достоянию. Рассказывается о концепции общественной пользы, инициировавшей образование новых электронных хранилищ. Рассмотрен альтернативный опыт формирования и функционирования ряда зарубежных электронных библиотек: HathiTrust Digital Library, Europeana, Digital Public Library of America, Internet Archive, выдвигающих как приоритет некоммерческий доступ к базам данных. Описываются история возникновения и основные структурные параметры формирующихся электронных собраний. Проанализирована динамика взаимоотношений новых электронных библиотек с книжным сервисом Google - от активного сотрудничества в программах оцифровки фондов к противостоянию монопольной практике информатизации, а затем к спорадическому взаимодействию в рамках специальных проектов, продвигающих новый формат предоставления информационных услуг. Уделяется внимание выработке новых принципов коллективного сотрудничества электронных библиотек за рубежом в процессе формирования инфраструктуры информационного общества

Get PDFThe article describes the history of the library of St. Theophan the Recluse, also known as “Theophan Zatvornik” (1815-1894), the famous theologian and spiritual writer of the 19th century, the owner of one of the largest private libraries. Despite the large number of studies on the theological heritage of St. Theophan the Recluse, the history and composition of his library is still not revealed, what determines the relevance of the article. The main objectives of the article are to identify and analyze all the surviving inventories of the library, to explore the possibility of determining the composition and history of the library. The main sources for this task are the memoirs of his contemporaries, published in the periodicals of the 19th century, as well as two inventories of the library, made after the death of St. Theophan the Recluse, by the librarian of the Moscow Theological Seminary N.A. Kolosov and by the unknown author. There was revealed that after the death of St. Theophan the Recluse, his library got into the library of the Church of St. Nicholas in Tolmachi, and after the revolution - to the Russian State Library. All the books had Losevs library stamp. Research work on revealing all the editions with Losevs library stamp in the holdings of the Russian state library will allow to determine the composition of the book collection of St. Theophan

Get PDFP.I. Jurgenson was the only publisher of spiritual music by P.I. Tchaikovsky. Generally, those works were published immediately after creation (except for the spiritual hymn “The Angel Cried”, released in 1906, when neither the composer nor the founder of the publishing company were no longer alive). The thorough study of the available copies of the spiritual music by Tchaikovsky in the collections of the Library of the Moscow Conservatory allowed to presume that Jurgenson (and after 1903 his heirs) regularly republished those works, because the demand was apparently incredibly high. The presence of different kinds of printing details and identification of individual visual differences in those publications have led to certain adjustments in attribution of separate musical editions, appeared during the period of almost 40 years (from 1880 up to 1917). The developed method of more accurate dating, tested on the materials of spiritual music by Tchaikovsky, is applicable to any other work by this author and, more broadly, by any other composer, who printed his opuses at Jurgenson

Get PDFActivities of the library institutions in the Gorky region in the 1930-ies as an integral part of the cultural and social life of the region, as source of education and educational work, repeatedly became the object of study in the works of various authors. In the domestic literature there are covered a number of aspects that reveal the problem. At the same time, the special significance and complexity of this subject determines the necessity of its study in all integrity and diversity. The article presents the analysis of the works, the authors of which made the special contribution to the study of history of librarianship in the Nizhny Novgorod region and to formation of the concept of the features of organization and operation of library services in 1930-ies. This analysis, representing the level of study of the problem, determines the further steps necessary for scientific research.Деятельность библиотечных учреждений Горьковской области в 1930-е гг. как неотъемлемая составляющая культурной и общественной жизни региона, источник просвещения и воспитательной работы, неоднократно становилась объектом изучения в трудах различных авторов. В отечественной литературе получил освещение ряд аспектов, раскрывающих данную проблему. Вместе с тем, особая значимость и многогранность указанной темы определяет необходимость ее исследования во всей целостности и разносторонности. В статье представлен анализ отдельных работ, авторами которых был внесен определенный вклад в изучение истории библиотечного дела Нижегородского региона, формирование особенностей организации и осуществления работы библиотечных учреждений в 1930-е годы. Данный анализ, характеризующий степень изученности проблемы, открывает возможности для определения дальнейших необходимых путей научного исследования
