The Constititional Court Decision Number 18/PUU-XVII/2019 significantly changed the execution mechanism of fiduciary guarantess in Indonesia. Previously, creditors holding a Fiduciary Guarantee Certificate could directly execute the guarantee without a court ruling.  Nevertheless, after the ruling, enforcement may proceed solely when the guaranteed asset is handed over willingly as a result of the debtor’s acceptance of their noncompliance. Otherwise, the creditor must seek court approval. This shift creates legal uncertainty and weakens the creditor’s legal standing. This paper addresses two main issues: (1) What are the impacts of the Constitutional Court Decision Number 18/PUU-XVII/2019 in conjuction with Decision Number 2/PUU-XIX/2021 on creditor protection in fiduciary guarantees ? And (2) How does the post-decision guarantee system in Indonesia compare to the Dutch legal system, particularly in terms of creditor protection and execution procedures? The study examnines how the Constitutional Court’s rulling affects vreditors’ right while also considering the Dutch non-possessory (silent pledge) as a potential reference for legal reform. Since 1992, the Netherlands has replaced fiduciary guarantees with the silent pledge, a system that ensures creditor priority without requiring court involvement and offers stronger legal certainty. This model may serve as a viable solution to improve the fairness and effectiveness of fiduciary guarantee enforcement in Indonesia

Indonesian textile companies face significant challenges in maintaining their financial stability, especially considering economic changes and strong competition in the market. One of the main risks is financial distress, which is a state when a company begins to experience financial pressure that can lead to bankruptcy. The purpose of this study is to determine how financial ratios such as Liquidity (Current Ratio), Profitability (Return on Asset), Solvency (Debt to Equity Ratio), and Sales Growth impact Financial Distress in textile companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2020 - 2024. The data used for this study came from the annual financial statements of eight sample textile companies. A quantitative approach, multiple linear regression method, was used. The results of this study indicate that the liquidity and solvency ratios have a significant effect on financial distress partially, the four factors simultaneously affect financial distress. These results can help company management make the right financial decisions to continue operating in the future

Optimization of Pandan Leaf Processing (Pandanus Tectorius) as Craft Material: A Comparative Study of Drying and Natural Dyeing Methods

This research aims to optimize the processing of pandan leaves as craft material through comprehensive analysis of various drying and natural dyeing methods. Nine pandan leaf specimens with different initial treatments were tested using two main drying methods: natural sun-drying and oven drying. The research results show that pandan leaves with dimensions of 4-6 cm width and 40-100 cm length provide an optimal yield rate of approximately 60-70% for high-quality craft material production. The boiling process as initial treatment followed by sun-drying produces the best balance between drying time efficiency, color quality, and material structural integrity. Oven drying for 20 minutes proved equivalent to conventional sun-drying in terms of dryness level, but resulted in brittle material and loss of color absorption capability. Dyeing exploration using turmeric extract, suji leaves, and teak leaves showed that the use of lime water as solvent produces superior color intensity compared to regular water. This research provides significant contribution to the development of standard specifications for sustainable and environmentally friendly pandan leaf craft industry

Nowadays, the accumulation of waste has become a major environmental problem in the social dynamics of Indonesian society. The issue of waste pollution, originating from industrial activities or household activities, has become a common problem. Therefore, a waste management mechanism is needed to support sustainable development for both society and the environment. This can be realized through the regulation and planning of infrastructure development using ecobricks. The implementation of ecobricks aligns with the government's sustainable development goals outlined in its planning system. The concept of ecobricks is a recycling mechanism that transforms waste into environmentally friendly bricks, optimally supporting sustainable development in society. To ensure the concrete implementation of this mechanism, this paper employs normative juridical research methods with a legislative and conceptual approach. Based on our research and findings, the implementation of ecobricks will involve collaboration between the government and the private sector, creating new job opportunities and providing livelihoods for the community. Moreover, the ecobrick mechanism will engage various environmental communities to foster social habits related to waste management. Thus, the ecobrick mechanism can address waste problems in Indonesia from upstream to downstream, effectively achieving sustainable development in the country. &nbsp

China and Protectionism in Advanced Manufacturing: Why It is Prioritised and How It is Done

This study offered critical reinterpretation of China’s protectionist trade policies within its advanced manufacturing sector, focusing specifically on the development of the solar photovoltaic panels, electric vehicles, and lithium-ion batteries. By moving beyond normative justification for protectionism, the analysis employed the Infant Industry Argument as a solid theoretical lens to dissect the strategic rationale, institutional mechanisms, and specific policy instruments underpinning this state-driven initiative. The research employed a qualitative, case-study methodology, drawing on historical data from official government policy documents, industry reports, and numerous academic articles. The findings demonstrated that China’s success in practicing protectionist policies on its advanced manufacturing sectors stemmed not from passive or indefinite protection but from a dynamic and unique policy architecture. Its model strategically employed initial, timely-bounded subsidies and tariffs with the active promotion of market competition and clear performance benchmarks. This approach compelled firms to innovate and achieve economies of scale. Furthermore, the protection was deliberately made to be phased out, adapting industrial maturity through gradual liberalisation. Consequently, this strategy fostered globally competitive industrial champions, thereby avoiding the technological stagnation and market distortion in historical cases. This study concluded that China’s trajectory redefined the IIA as sophisticated governance strategy where protection was inherently conditional, competitive, and transitional, demonstrating its significant efficacy

Child-Friendly City Initiatives (CFCI) emphasizes the importance of creating urban environments that support children’s health and well-being. This scoping review maps studies that examine the relationship between urban environmental characteristics and children’s happiness (well-being) with children as participants. Based on a systematic search of four databases (Web of Science [WoS], SAGE Journals, Scopus, and ProQuest), eight articles were identified that met the inclusion criteria, namely: (a) empirical studies involving children’s perspectives; (b) studies examining the relationship between urban environmental features and children’s happiness (well-being); and (c) studies published in peer-reviewed English-language journals between 2004-2024. This scoping review revealed that there are five main environmental features that influence children’s happiness (well-being), namely: (1) built environment; (2) natural environment; (3) play areas; (4) traffic conditions; and (5) cohesive social environment. These features influence children's happiness (well-being) through three underlying mechanisms, namely: (1) psychological; (2) social; and (3) physical activity. Moderating factors such as age, socioeconomic status, and gender identity were also identified as influencing the strength of the relationship between environmental features and children's happiness (well-being). This scoping review also produces recommendations for future study directions to enrich the understanding of the relationship between urban environments and children's happiness (well-being) in urban areas.

The Meaning of Money and Its Influence on Decision To Take A Loan: Study on Members of Credit Union

Purpose: This study aims to elaborate on how credit union members perceive money and how these perceptions inform the decision made before applying for a loan from a credit union. Method: The study employed grounded theory as its methodology. Data were obtained from in-depth, semi-structured interviews and observations involving ten members of a credit union in Indonesia. This research's respondents are divided into two types: the first lists respondents who actively borrow (five respondents), and the second lists those who do not (five respondents). Result: The study shows two categories in which money is perceived: money as a resource and money as a source of emotions. The study further found that six key factors inform the decision to apply for a loan. Past experiences (1) contribute to the meaning of money (2) and perceptions toward loans (3). Further, pressing needs (4) not accompanied by financial strength (5) to finance them result in motives for procuring loans. With access to loans (6), motives can turn into an action of taking out a loan. Based on the findings, Credit unions should perform a thorough analysis to identify pressing needs among their members and evaluate the access to loans regarding their capacity to fulfill the members' needs. Furthermore, loans should be conveyed as a means to achieve financial goals and improve the members' quality of life
