Iron Supplementation Intermittently in Reducing the Severity of Depression
To investigate the effect of iron supplementation on the severity of depression among anemic students. The study design was Quasi Experimental Trial and conducted in the Department of Allied health sciences, The University of Lahore, Lahore from May to December 2019. The severity and symptoms of depression was measured by Beck’s depression scale. 781 female students were analyzed and 377 students were enrolled in the study. Written informed consent were taken from the students. A semi-structured proforma was used for documenting the outcome variables. Blood samples were taken for Hemoglobin (Hb) level. Iron supplementation significantly reduced the severity of depression (21 ± 2.98, p < 0.001) at baseline versus post study (17.47 ± 3.31, p < 0.001) by using Beck’s Depression scale (BDI). The results showed that there was a significance improvement in post study hemoglobin (Hb) in comparison with baseline Hb (Hb at baseline =10.79± 0.60, P <0.001 vs Hb at post study = 10.97 ± 0.83, P<0.001). After intervention, subjects with continued depression had high rate of iron deficiency anemia. These data are valuable as they enable us to conclude that iron supplementation can reduce the severity of depression in the iron deficient anemic students
Definition of a Prototype of High Temperature Synchronous Reluctance Motor
This paper discusses the definition of a synchronous reluctance motor with special windings able to work in very hot environments where the ambient temperature rises over 300°C. This motor is designed with inorganic insulated coils able to operate at internal temperatures up to 500°C. With such coils and synchronous reluctance structure, the maximum ambient temperature of using this motor is much over the capabilities of the best magnets. However, this structure has drawback at classical temperatures which it is important to transpose to the extreme temperatures. The paper is dedicated to the construction of a functional prototype which allows the experiments at very high ambient temperatures
Detection, Transmission and Pathogenic Fungi in Chia Seeds

The study related to seed pathology is essential to know the sanitary quality, since the presence of pathogens in favor of seed can spread disease, and physiological influence the quality of seeds, resulting in low germination. Thus, this study aimed to identify the detection, transmission, and pathogenicity of fungi associated with the seeds of chia. The work was conducted in the Phytopathology Laboratory and experimental area of the Federal University of Tocantins, chia seeds produced being evaluated in Gurupi (Brazil) and Katueté (Paraguay).
To check the sanitary quality of chia seed was used the method of the filter paper to the present lifting mycobiota which was subsequently isolated and cultured in a potato dextrose agar culture (BDA). For seed fungi, the transmission test to the plant was sowed 100 seeds of chia divided into four replicates of 25 seeds each. The seeds were sown in pots of 4 dm3 (four seeds per pot) evaluations were made to ten, twenty and thirty days after emergence by observing the characteristic symptoms. The pathogenicity of fungi transported by the seed was evaluated by inoculation in the aerial part of seedlings. The fungi found associated with chia seeds were: Alternaria spp., Aspergillus spp., Bipolaris spp., Colletotrichum spp., Curvularia spp., Fusarium spp., Penicillium spp., Rhizoctonia spp, e Rhizopus spp. the fungus Colletotrichum spp. and Fusarium spp. They are transmitted to seedlings via seed. Alarming frequency and after effects of maternal anemia in Pakistan
Anemia is caused due to usually iron based nutritional deficiency in blood. Its severity varies from mild to fatal. Recent reported data of Pakistan indicates that anemia cannot be ignored as it may affect fetus or maternal health or may cause death of any of them. The frequent symptoms are poor fetal growth, gastrointestinal bleeding, spontaneous abortion, low infant weight, less placental size and fetal or sometimes maternal death. Moreover, current data highlights that maternal anemia is common among females of province Sindh up to alarming level than in other provinces of Pakistan. As its diagnosis is usually delayed. People ignore the symptoms and still there is lack of awareness among masses. It should be controlled by government and concerned authorities by spreading general public awareness related to preventive measures, handling and cure of maternal anemia and to ensure the lives and health of both mother and developing fetus
Soil-Cement Bricks as an Alternative for Glass Waste Disposal
Glass can be recycled an infinite number of times. However, the reverse logistics of bottles, flasks, packaging and others is not always economically feasible, and landfill disposal is widespread in Brazil. The reuse of glass waste is an alternative to recycling, hence the objective of this study was to evaluate the production conditions of soil-cement-glass bricks. The use of glass waste occurred in two ways, one with a cement substitute (glass powder) and another with a soil substitute (crushed glass), in the manufacturing of soil-cement bricks. The results indicated that the glass powder was ineffective in replacing cement. On the other hand, the incorporation of crushed glass significantly improved the mechanical resistance in the specimens. The soil-cement-glass bricks (mass composed of 45% soil, 45% ground glass and 10% cement) molded in conventional and alternative forms showed resistance to the compression established by standards at 14 and 7 days, respectively. This study demonstrated that bricks produced with crushed glass have advantages from the environmental and technical points of view, contributing to the sustainability of the industrial and civil construction sectors
A Market Survey Report on Handicraft Products in Gulu District - Uganda
The two-decade civil war in northern Uganda, which lasted from 1986 until 2006, Gulu district experienced violence that wrecked the rest of Acholiland. After the war, Gulu District witnessed rapid growth in slums where social conditions have worsened. There is a new population that is mostly young and extremely poor. Many of them are the new landless, unable to leave town and move back to rural areas, and thus without the hope of return that had sustained many of the wartime displaced, but also without hope of employment in town. A handful of these vulnerable groups have been engaged in handicraft production, unfortunately, in Uganda training in handicraft production has often been given little attention. Largely training in handicraft production is purely informal, often results into a skills mismatch between trainee and the world of work and lack of serious quality control standards. Umbrella of Hope Initiative (UHOPI) a local NGO operating in Gulu came up with the intervention of training these vulnerable groups in handicraft production with the aim that beneficiaries would be able to be self-reliant after acquiring the skills. The trainees were expected to venture into handicraft business with the hope that this would be a source of their livelihood. In order to ensure that handicraft business would bring sustainable development to the vulnerable groups, UHOPI commissioned a market survey in handicraft products in Gulu City. Questionnaires and interview guides were the tools that was used to collect the data. The Respondents indicated their views on; basic information on handicrafts, market for handicraft products, profitability of handicraft products and obtaining trainers in handicraft production. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze the data. Qualitative responses were coded into themes and their frequencies obtained and triangulated in the aspects under study. The findings revealed that handicraft shoes and bags are the most demanded items in Uganda and particularly in Gulu city which is highly correlated with the handcraft items being trained in the region. It further revealed that there is ready market for these products within Gulu city and the country at large and most raw materials can easily be acquired locally. Also, handicraft items are very profitable especially door mats, bags and shoes. The survey recommended that UHOPI should: (i) train more youth in handicraft bags and shoes making since they create jobs for the youth and the markets are easily available; (ii) compare the raw materials got from Kampala and those locally made to produce bags, and identify the best raw materials that would make quality bags; (iii) engage more market vendors to come up with the actual start-up capital for making bags and shoes
Multicriteria Decision Making Problems Using Variable Weights of Criteria Based on Alternative Preferences
In this study, we consider multicriteria decision making problems with respect to variable domination structures. These structures are considered in relation to variable weights of criteria based on alternatives preferences. Such problems have many applications in logistics, strategic management, economics, and many decision making processes. For solving such problems, we define a technique based on simple additive weighting, technique for order of preference by similarity to ideal solution, and preference ranking organization method for enrichment evaluation (PROMETHEE) methods. There are several third-party software for composing XBRL financial reports available. However, performing such a task typically encompasses: dealing with XBRL problems ESMA report presented, taking professionals out of their role to compose XBRL financial reports, and wasting time dealing with the mistakes or inconsistencies committed. HCI design problems could cause the reported situations. This research proposes an attempt to change that reality while aiming to mitigate the XBRL knowledge required to elaborate XBRL financial reports problem, the HCI design solutions that XBRL financial reporting demands, and the lack of HCI studies related to B2G and G2G e-Government practices
Dynamics of Macro Fauna under Conservation and Conventional Agriculture in Maize /Legume Cropping System at Sidama Zone in Southern Ethiopia
Conservation agriculture (CA) is based on three principles of minimum soil disturbance, surface crop residue retention, crop rotations and is one of the available options in southern Ethiopia. CA has been intensively promoted for more than a decade to combat declining soil fertility and to stabilize crop yields. Soil macro fauna have almost the same important role as soil microorganisms in affecting soil characteristics. However, data regarding the population and the biodiversity of soil macro fauna in Ethiopia are still rare. The objectives of this study were to determine dynamics of macrofauna in conservation agriculture of maize legume cropping system. Research results from Boricha and Locabaya, southern Ethiopia, indicate that load and type of macrofauna dominated CA and increment of macrofauna in number from year to year determined . High percentage of macrofauna in Hawassa (59.9%) in 2014 from plots of maize intercropped with common bean. From the same treatment in Boricha ,as to that of Hawassa, during 2014 and 2015, (108.8%) and (419.6%) were recorded, respectively. In lockabaya, high percentages 24.3% and 210.5%, were recorded due to maize intercropped with cowpea in 2014 and 2015 respectively. In Conventional agriculture , total decline of macrofauna observed. it was concluded that CA favors the growth and load of macrofauna which resulted in reduced soil fertility and have a large impact on food security
A Rule Based Segmentation Approaches to Extract Retinal Blood Vessels in Fundus Image
The physiological structures of the retinal blood vessel are one of the key features that visible in the retinal images and contain the information associate with the anatomical abnormalities. It is accepted all over the world to judge the cardiovascular and retinal disease. To avoid the risk of visual impairment, appropriate vessel segmentation is mandatory. Here has proposed a segmentation algorithm that efficiently extracts the blood vessels from the retinal fundus image. The proposed segmentation algorithm is performed Lab and Principle Component (PC) based gray level conversion, Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE), morphological operations, Local Property-Based Pixel Correction (LPBPC). For appropriate detection proposed vessels correction algorithm LPBPC that check the feature of the vessels and remove the wrong vessel detection. To measure the appropriateness of the proposed algorithm, the experimental results are compared with the corresponding ground truth images. The experimental results have shown that the proposed blood vessel algorithm is more accurate than the existing algorithms
