    Organizational Factors Impacting Agile Software Development - A Systematic Literature Review

    Since its inception, agile has received enormous response from practitioners and researchers alike. With the passage of time, many new tools, techniques and methodologies have evolved, and the field is expanding. A lot of work in the form of surveys and studies have been conducted to find out critical success factors (CSF), that either contribute to success or failure of agile projects. In this study we are aiming at finding and synthesizing the Organizational Factors which impacts the success or failure of software development projects which follow agile methodology. We have chosen 19 relevant studies to perform a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The selected studies and method follows more a qualitative approach, then a quantitative approach. The data and results were extracted from these studies and were then analyzed. We have selected and explained twelve organizational factors which impacts the outcome of an agile based development methodology. The factors identified will help academic researchers as well as practitioners to devise ways and means to affect agile projects in a positive way, from the point of view of organizational factors

    Preparation of MoS2 Microspheres with Different Proportions by Hydrothermal Method and their Gas Sensing Performance

    MoS2 microspheres with three different proportions were prepared by hydrothermal method. The effects of different proportions on the morphology, purity and sensing performance of MoS2 were studied. The morphology and structure of MoS2 were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results show that the MoS2 microspheres with the best morphology and the highest purity can be obtained when the ratio of Mo to S is 1:2. The results of gas sensitivity test show that the optimum working temperature of the three samples is 175?. When the ratio of Mo to S is 1:2, the sensitivity to 100ppm-500ppm ethanol gas is obviously better than other ratios

    Methane Gas Hydrate Formation by Using Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate Additives

    Gas Hydrates (G. Hyd) such as methane (CH4) hydrates are forming of water molecules in ice-like crystals (lattice shape) with cavities where the methane gas (gust gas) molecules are engaged in, and this process is conducted in a certain condition, mainly in low temperature and high pressure. The objective of the current work is to study the effect of Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) additives on Methane gas hydrate performance. Two solutions were prepared. The first solution consists of distilled water (100 ml), methane gas and SDS additives (0.10 g). The second solution consists of same ingredient with seawater (100 ml) instead of distilled water. A stirred tank with 750 psi has been utilized. The highest recovery ratio was 42.15% for distilled water using SDS additives with a pressure cycle duration of 120 minutes. Significant improvement in the hydrate water recovery ratio can be obtained with distilled water and seawater by about 42 % and 15.6% respectively. Generally, SDS additives improve the recovery rate for water in the presence of methane

    The aim of the study was to explore a relationship between perfectionism dimensions and coping strategies in postgraduate clinical psychology students and practitioners i.e. professionals of an emotionally challenging field. The population consisted of postgraduate clinical psychology students, and those who have recently completed the degree and had conducted some therapeutic sessions individually (N = 100, M = 3% & F = 97%). The measurement tools applied in this study were Frost Multidimensional Scale (FMPS) (FMPS; Frost., Marten., Lahart., & Rosenblate) and Brief Cope Inventory [2]. The research was descriptive correlational study and the statistical analyses was done through SPSS (version 22). The study was conducted during COVID-19 pandemic situation hence, data was collected through online medium. Both the hypotheses got rejected while the data supported newer findings which showed that both the perfectionism dimensions had a weak positive but statistically significant relationship with the dysfunctional coping (except organization). Moreover, results indicate that unemployed participants found to be more organized than those who were employed. The study would be of significant value in developing programs aiming at counseling mental health practitioners with using adaptive coping strategies. As when they enter the professional field they are expected to be perfect in their services, causing them to strive for better and to cope on their own for the sake of providing satisfactory interventions to their patients for their well-being

    Evaluation of X-Ray Computed Tomography in an Erodible Soil Reinforced with Babassu Coconut Fibers and Construction Waste

    To guarantee the maintenance of the environment, the civil construction sector has expanded its search for materials from renewable sources and, therefore, composite materials are being produced from the reuse of natural fibers and construction waste. This study analyzes the physical and mechanical behaviors of an erodible hillside soil reinforced with natural babassu coconut fibers and civil construction waste (CCW), class A. As methodological procedures, the Unidimensional Densification laboratory test was carried out for the soil, CCW, and composites, observing the void index versus log curves of the effective tension, the porosity content, and the compression index. The X-Ray Computed Tomography non-destructive test was also performed for comparative purposes of the porosity result. The results showed that the use of CCW and babassu coconut fibers in the reinforcement reduces voids present in the soil. This reduction points to better soil function in the face of erosion caused by the action of water. The composite with 50% soil + 49.5% residue + 0.5% fiber was the one with the lowest voids index, guaranteeing a 21% reduction in porosity. It was possible to verify that the tomography test provides results compatible with the one-dimensional densification test, regarding the determination of porosity, with variations of ± 3%

    Contract Package as an Antecedent of Value for Money: The Mediating Role of Competitive Procurement.

    Given the limited resources available to the government institutions, value for money in procurement is crucial to ensuring the optimal use of finite budgetary resources. This study delves into contract package as an antecedent of value for money; competitive procurement as a mediating role. Fifty-three (53) pre-university educational institutions in the Eastern region of Ghana were selected for the study. Two research objectives were examined whilst two research hypotheses were tested. This study is a quantitative one, which employed purposive and simple random sampling techniques. Using the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Model (SEM) for data analysis, the study found no relationship between contract package and value for money. Again, the study revealed that competitive procurement failed to exert significant effect or influence on contract package and value for money linkages. The study recommended that appropriate procurement process at the public sector is highly required to generate wealth, enhance transparency and accountability, encourage consistent procurement procedures and lessen corruption. Through this, value for money can be achieved

    Investigating Effects of Metacognitive Reading Strategy Explicit Instruction on Students\u27 Metacognitive Reading Strategy Awareness: The Case of Grade 11 Students of Guder Preparatory School

    The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of metacognitive reading strategy explicit instruction on Grade 11 students’ metacognitive reading strategy awareness at Guder Preparatory School. The study also aimed at investigating the students\u27 perception about the strategy instruction. Data were collected using Metacognitive Reading strategy Awareness Inventory (MARSI) and interview. A quasi-experimental research design was used to achieve the purpose of the study. Two groups participated in this study. Treatment group (N=67) participated in the explicit instruction metacognitive reading strategy while comparison group (N=74) learnt the strategy in a conventional way. After administering both pretest and posttest of MARSI, an ANCOVA was used to test the hypothesis of the study. The finding of this study indicated that explicit instruction of metacognitive reading strategy positively affected the students\u27 metacognitive reading strategy awareness as was measured by MARSI. The p-value for MARSI posttest was .001, which indicated that there was no statistical significance between the students who participated in the metacognitive reading strategy instruction F(1,139), =22.220, P=.001, Partial Eta Squared=.139 and the students who did not participate in the metacognitive reading strategy instruction F(1,139)=4.690, P=.891. The mean scores of the treatment group increased significantly from M=2.7750, SD=.2046 (pretest) to M=4.2954, SD=.1383 (posttest). The significance difference was not from pretest to posttest (M=2.7036, SD=1871 to M=2.800, SD=2304). The three subcomponents of MARSI: Problem solving reading strategy (4.0084) was mostly affected by the explicit instruction metacognitive reading strategy. Mean score of global reading strategy was 3.8919. Supportive reading strategy was the least affected by the instruction (3.8597). Finally, data collected by interview showed that almost all of the interview participants of this study had good perception about the explicit instruction of metacognitive reading strategy

    Investigating the Impact of Non-Hydrodynamically Connected Descaling Parameters in the Removal of Different Stages of Paraffin Deposits Using Multiple Nozzles in Petroleum Production Tubing

    Despite the continued research efforts in understanding the erosional behaviors of multiple flat fan nozzles in the removal of different types of scale deposits from petroleum production tubing. The non-hydrodynamically connected descaling parameters such as stand-off distance, nozzle arrangement and chamber pressure have not been duly considered up to date. This research utilizes 3-flat fan high-pressure nozzles at a high injection pressure of 10 MPa to remove paraffin deposits at different growth stages from petroleum production tubing to evaluate the effects of the descaling parameters on scale removal. A stand-off distance of 25 mm, 50 mm and 75 mm; nozzle arrangement in novel orientations (triangle, diagonal & right-angle) involving 7-nozzles header and chamber pressures (in compression – 0.2 MPa and vacuum -8.0 x10-3 MPa) were utilized as the varying non-hydrodynamically connected parameters. Generally, the selection of both nozzle arrangement and chamber air concentration was found to be governed by the type and shape of the deposit in question while the scale removal capability was found to be reduced with an increase in stand-off distance due to poor jet contact. An average hollow shaped paraffin removal of 276 g, 259 g and 226 g were recorded at ambient condition across the respective stand-off distance of the three respective nozzles arrangements. While the introduction of 0.2 MPa compressed air significantly increased the respective removal of the early stage paraffin deposition to 342 g, 299 g and 277 g respectively. Also, more hollow shaped removal improvement of 366 g, 320 g and 288 g were achieved after suctioning the chamber by -0.008 MPa, while simultaneously pumping water at 10 MPa. The case of solid shaped paraffin signifying complete tubing blockage was not effective at ambient condition, with average paraffin removal of 99 g, 126 g and 112 g respectively. However, the introduction of compressed chamber air registered the best solid paraffin removal results of 235 g, 286 g and 256 g respectively. Whereas the suction operation recorded an average removal of 229 g, 270 g and 250 g of paraffin across the respective jet positions and nozzle configurations. This result provides a practical approach to the removal of organic scales deposits at varying descaling conditions of injection pressure, standoff distance and nozzle arrangement
