Rotor Blade Aerodynamics Forces Modelling for Dynamic Analysis
In order to establish a rational method for structural analysis of wind turbine rotor with respect to failure in ultimate loading, either in strength or fatigue fashion. Two famous methods in predicting the complicated nature of the two main lift and drag forces acting ‘normal and tangential’ forces on the rotor blade are discussed and numerical solution ‘iteration’ using the coefficients involved in establishing these forces is presented and, therefore are readily introduced in the analysis stage typically done by dynamics analysis codes
Budget Literacy and Financial Performance of Saccos in Kumi District-Uganda
This research paper is presented on the topic, “Budget literacy and financial performance of SACCOs in Kumi district”. The overall objective of the study was to determine the effect of budget literacy on financial performance of SACCOs in Kumi district. The researcher used a case study research design because of its ability to investigate the study variable in detail and due to the fact that it provides a systematic description that is factual and accurate as possible. The population under study was 343(N) people and a sample population of 108 (n) people consisting of; District commercial officer, commercial officers, SACCO board members, SACCO management team members and SACCO members. In the determination of the sample size the researcher used both probability and non-probability sampling techniques. Under data collection, the researcher used three data collection methods; firstly the researcher used Questionnaire survey method as it allowed an in depth research and collection of firsthand information in a short period of time, secondly the researcher used interview method on seven (07) key informants i.e. commercial officers (04) and Board members (03) as this was intended to probe for more information, get clarification and capture facial expression. Lastly documentary review method was used which provided necessary background and much more needed information. Three tools in this context were used i.e. Research Questionnaire, interview guide and documentary review check list.
The collected data was both quantitative and qualitative in nature. Quantitative data was analysed using Statistical Package for Social Scientists (SPSS) version 25*64 bit so as to identify the missing variables. Qualitative data was recorded in the researchers note book which was transcribed for a clear meaning.
The research findings highlighted the following; Budget literacy had a strong positive relationship with financial performance of SACCOs evident with R = 0.743 with p<0.01 and R2 =0.552 or 55.2%.
The researcher based on the study findings recommended that; based on the overall objective; there must be creation of awareness and corporative member education, preparation of a well comprehensive budget and development of a suitable criterion for measuring the performance of management. 
Phytochemical Screening and Nutritional Composition of Datura Innoxia Mill Extract as Traditional Medicine for Certain Illnesses in Eastern Part of Sierra Leone.
The aim of the present study was to determine the phytochemical and nutrient compositions of two morphological parts of D. innoxia; leaf and seed in order to provide Phytochemical and nutrient information about it. Phytochemical and nutrient composition was carried out on Datura innoxia leaf and seed. Phytochemical screening result revealed the presence of atropine, alkaloids, scopolamine, essential oils, saponins, flavonoids, polyphenols, as well as cardiacs glycosides; while tannins, Coumarins, Carboxylic acid and Valepotriates were absent in all the plant parts examined. The phytochemical screening based on the standard methods of tube reactions has been performed with ethanol extracts. The quantitative estimation of total polyphenols was made by the Folin-Ciocalteu method and that of flavonoids by the use of aluminum trichloride. The phytochemical screening revealed that leaves and seeds of this plant contain alkaloids, polyphenols, flavonoids, coumarins, tannins, triterpenes and saponin. Phenolic contents of ethanol extracts are 30.97 ± 0.33 mg equivalent gallic acid / g in leaves and 14.02 ± 0.15 mg equivalent gallic acid / g in seeds; those of flavonoids are 15.13 ± 0.2 mg equivalent of quercetin / g in the leaves and 4.93 ± 0.41 mg equivalent of quercetin / g in the seeds. The three tests showed that the leaves have a higher level of antiradical activity in vitro than seeds. The nutrient composition analysis indicated significant (P < 0.05) variation in crude protein content which ranged from 2.09% in the root to 17.21% in the leaf, moisture content (10.00% in seed to 7.5% in seed), crude lipid content 15.52% in the seed and 7.5% in the leaf. Total ash was highest in the leaf (21.59%) and least in the seed (8.26%) while nitrogen free extract was (46.67%) and 42.25% in the seed and leaf respectively. The phytochemical screening of the D. innoxia revealed the presence of important pharmacological bioactive substances as well as medicinal and nutritional potentials in the leaf, seed, stem, pod and root. It is thus suggested that more studies on concentrations of active ingredients, anti-nutritional factors and toxicity level be carried out. Spatial Distribution of Marine Debris in Jakarta\u27s bay Waters and the Seribu Islands with Maritime Security Concept
Marine debris is a waste that comes from the land, water and coastal flow into the sea or waste derived from the activities in the sea. This is a big problem around the world. This research is aimed to knowing the types, the sizes, the mass and spread of marine debris carried out on the three beaches of DKI Jakarta and four beaches in the Thousand Islands in August to October 2018. Data collection method used are primary and secondary data. Primary data of field surveys, visual, direct observation (retrieval, collection and weighing). Secondary data of retrieval in relevant agencies about currents, winds and tides. The concept of maritime security contains four elements namely maritime power, maritime security, blue economy, and human security. The blue economy is focused on the pollution in the sea. Therefore, the importance of assessing the distribution of waste in the sea to control pollution at sea is not getting worse. Based on the size of the most widely found is a macro as many as 1120 pieces, wastes found at each station is 576 pieces kind of plastic and 63 pieces of other categories. The highest weights of 23.76 kg is the other category and the lowest of 0.195 kg is a type of metal. The spread of marine debris in the waters of Jakarta bay and Thousand Islands with wind from the east and the current to the northeast (South China Sea) from the southeast (Flores Sea) passing through the Java Sea which dominates plastic is a marine debris with a 48% percentage. Rapfish Analysis (Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries) for Sustainability of Lobster (Panulirus Sp.) in Coastal Cilacap With a Blue Economy Approach to Maritime Security
Based on the results of the sustainability analysis of the EAFM domain for the management of lobster fisheries on the coast of Cilacap, it is necessary to carry out a comparative analysis to describe the sustainability status of each domain and the interrelationships between each indicator used. In addition, it is necessary to measure the indicators that are the main factors in determining the status of the domain. Four security concepts, namely sea power, marine safety, blue economy, and human security. All of this information is expected to be used as material for a stronger analysis in determining policy priorities in the next chapter. RAPFISH (Rapid Appraisal for Fisheries) is an analytical method to evaluate the sustainability of fisheries in a multidisciplinary manner based on the technique of ordination (putting something in the order of measurable attributes) with Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS). Monte Carlo analysis is used to determine the stability of the RAPFISH ordinance results, Laverage analysis is carried out to find out what attributes are sensitive from all dimensions used. The results obtained from the testing of this chapter are the sustainability status of each management dimension in general is in moderately sustainable status with an average score of 54.56. The dimension with the lowest level of sustainability is the dimension of fish resources and the highest dimension is the dimension of fishing techniques
Simulation of Convective Drying with Shrinkage using the Finite Window Method: Application and Validation
This work presents the simulation of drying with shrinkage by the finished window method. To do this, we recalled the drying balance equations and expressed the shrinkage that a product undergoes during the process of product dehydration by means of the shrinkage rate. Then presented the method of resolution employed with an application to the drying of cocoa beans. The different profiles obtained in terms of temperature, water content and volume shrinkage have been shown to be in perfect agreement with the literature. The comparison of the results of the present study with the experimental data of Koua and al., (2017) presents an average relative error of 2.89% for the water content and 0.99% for the reduced volume. The theoretical results are in perfect agreement with the experiments, which gives us a validation criterion of the method proposed as suitable for the resolution of the drying equations
The Effects of Perceived Trust and Ease of Use on Adoption of Mobile Marketing in the Telecommunication Industry of Tanzania
This study examines the effects of perceived trust and perceived ease of use on the adoption of mobile marketing in the telecommunications industry of Tanzania. Guided by the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) it predicts the adoption of mobile marketing in the Telecommunications industry in Tanzania. Survey strategy was employed in data collection, using structured questionnaires and collected data from 5 municipalities, 73 wards and 6 hamlets, by using multi stage sampling of 406 respondents in Dar es Salaam. Quantitative data were analyzed using multiple linear regression. Findings indicate that perceived ease of use and perceived trust had positive and significant influence on the adoption of mobile marketing. We provide recommendations to the telecommunications companies to improve their mobile marketing products and services by making better products that are easy to use and trustworthy so as to conform to the needs of their customers
Abundance and Diversity of Trees Species Under Different Land Uses in the Sudan Savannah Ecological Zone of Ghana, West Africa
Knowledge on tree species abundance and diversity is critical for sustainable land management and biodiversity conservation. The aim of the study was to assess tree species abundance and diversity across different land uses and sites in the Sudan savannah ecological zone of Ghana, a total of 64 plots of 3600 m2 (60 m x 60 m) were laid out in three land use types (Forest reserve, cropland and rangeland) in four sites (Bawku, Binduri, Garu and Pusiga). All standing trees and shrubs species encountered in the setting plot were recorded including dendrometry parameters. Alpha diversity was measured using Simpson, Shannon-Wiener and Evenness indices whereas similarity in species composition between land use types and sites were measured using Sorenson’s index. The results showed that there were more species in the lower diameter classes (0 to 20 cm) than the higher diameter classes (>20 cm). the greatest value of tree diversity was recorded in forest land in the four sites compared to the other land use types. The highest similarity (53%) in tree species composition was recorded between cropland in Binduri and Garu. the current study revealed that forest land recorded the highest value of tree species richness in each site compared to the other two land use types (cropland and rangeland) in the same site
“Estimation and Validation of Methylcobalamin in Tablet Dosage form using UV-Visible Spectrophotometric Method”
An ultraviolet (UV) spectrophotometric method was developed and validated for quantitavie determination of Methylcobalamin (Mecobalamin) in tablet dosage form. Methylcobalamin is a cobalamin, a form of vitamin B12 and used to prevent or treat pathology arising from a lack of vitamin B12 , such as pernicious anemia and is also used in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy ans as a preliminary treatment for amyotrophic latera sclerosis. The very simple, Fast, accurate and economical methods have been proposed for the determination of Mecobalamin. Mecobalamin was measured by using Uv spectroscopy method with the solution of methanol, the linearity was found to be 0.9981 and the accuracy showed mean % RSD of 0.791694 and with total meam % RSD 0.97923 in intermediate precision, range %RSD 0.652005 all the parameters values were within standard limit thus Analytical method was validated according to ICH guideline for the determination of Methylcobalamin. The method was found to be precise and validated as per ICH guidelines
A Green Antisolvent Strategy for Enhancing the Performance of Carbon-based CsPbIBr2 Solar Cells
All-inorganic CsPbIBr2 perovskite materials demonstrated to own a balanceable feature for its acceptable bandgap, good phase stability and excellent thermal stability. Herein, we introduce ethyl acetate (EA) and chlorobenzene (CB) as antisolvent to improve the quality of CsPbIBr2 thin films. Compared with CB, EA is a good green antisolvent, and high-quality CsPbIBr2 thin films with enlarged grain sizes, few grain boundaries as well as improved optical properties were obtained by optimizing EA as antisolvent. Based on a carbon-based and hole-free planar heterojunction structure of FTO/TiO2/CsPbIBr2/Carbon, an optimal power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 4.35% was achieved, 10% enhancement in PCE. This work contributes to selecting nontoxic solvent engineering for realizing the preparation of high-quality CsPbIBr2 thin films and the improved performance of all-inorganic CsPbIBr2 PSCs
