Public Participation structures play a critical role in Early Childhood Development Education Policy Implementation.  Despite the importance of structures as domiciled in the law, public participation structures are yet to be fully actualized in the various levels of the government and specifically in ECD at county level. The purpose of this study sought to examine effectiveness of public participation structures on ECDE policy implementation in Bomet County, Kenya. The study is anchored by principal-agent theory and new public management theory. The study used mixed research design to explain interaction of study variables. The study targeted 1356 ECD teachers, 678 head teachers, 2034 Executive PTA and BOM and 12 County Education Officers who have been participating and managing past participation sessions. A sample size of 364 respondents was used. Data collection instruments included questionnaires and interviews. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics which were presented in form of tables, frequencies, pie charts and narrations.  Findings of the study indicate that ECDE public participation stakeholders are not fully represented in decision making and not involved in participation functions. Representative including special interest groups do not articulate issues affecting ECDE public policy implementation; representative views are not accepted and are not included in ECDE policy development and implementation. Public participation structures contributions are not reflected in final ECDE policy implementation plans. ECDE policy sessions need to be done in a conducive and secure place; participants of public participation need to be provided with facilitation for ECDE development policy implementation. Representative including special interest groups need to be given opportunity to articulate issues affecting ECDE development policy implementation and their views included in ECDE policy development and implementation. The study findings will be useful to the county government, ministry of education, policy makers and others stakeholders involved in ECD as it helps in getting better information on policy implementation when making decisions

However, there are only a few standard treatment choices, which include radiation, chemotherapy, and surgery. This systematic review report on the impact of histotripsy in tumor ablation. In this paper, the effectiveness, safety and advantages of histotripsy compared to other methods are explored. A search was done on ScienceDirect, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Scopus databases for articles published from the date of inception of the databases to 21st March 2023. Reference lists of identified studies were also screened. Non-duplicate articles were identified, and 12 articles were included for thematic analysis. During the analysis, different effects of histotripsy were categorized. This categorization led to the realization of the effectiveness, immunological effects, safety and advantages of histotripsy compared to the therapeutic options. Histotripsy is effective and safe treatment for various types of cancer, including cholangiocarcinoma, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, osteosarcoma, and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)

Technical-Economical Comparison of Irrigation Method Replacement on the Irrigation Systems Subject to Rehabilitation

In contemporary conditions the existing Program for Rehabilitation of Irrigation Systems is widely spread in Georgia. In the project tasks, as a rule, notwithstanding the natural-climatic conditions and without justification of the necessity, there is requested reviewing of possibility to replace the gravity irrigation by drip irrigation. The article is dedicated to the appropriateness of such replacement in the course of rehabilitation of irrigation systems. To identify economic efficiency of such requirement, there has been reviewed one of the distributors of the general irrigation system, where the gravity irrigation is to be replaced by drip irrigation. For the both methods there are determined capital and operating costs and there are calculated the values of Pure Net Variation. It has been found that such replacement during the rehabilitation conditions is economically unjustified and is appropriate only when water shortage in a feeding source

Use of Solar Photovoltaic Systems for Meeting the Power Demand in the Island of Crete, Greece Avoiding the Land Use Conflicts

Solar photovoltaic systems are increasingly used for power generation worldwide replacing the use of fossil fuels and reducing the energy-related carbon emissions. The abundant solar energy resources in Crete can generate green electricity increasing the island’s energy security and self-sufficiency. Apart from installing them on the ground new configurations for siting solar photovoltaics have been developed avoiding the conflicts related with land use. Several unconventional configurations regarding the installation of solar photovoltaic modules in Crete meeting the annual power demand have been investigated. These configurations include their installation on rooftops of buildings, on the surface of water bodies, on cultivated and uncultivated land allowing the dual production of energy and food and on the fields vertically sited. Evaluation of power generation from solar photovoltaics sited on rooftops of buildings in Crete indicated that they could generate a significant amount of the annual electricity demand of the island while the floating solar photovoltaics could only generate a small amount of its annual power demand. The use of agrivoltaics and of vertical photovoltaics in Crete could generate significant amounts of electricity although quantitative estimations have not been implemented. In conclusion, solar electricity generation in Crete can meet the annual power demand in the island allowing the dual use of valuable and fertile land for electricity generation and food production

The main objective of this study was to determine the effect of stakeholders’ management on the relationship between organizational characteristics and performance of seaports from Anglophone Africa. This study adopted positivist research philosophy with descriptive cross-sectional census survey design. Structured questions in form of questionnaires were employed to collect primary data targeting executive managers of container handling seaport terminals in Anglophone Africa who are conversant with port operations and management. Additional published data also obtained from websites of some of the ports. The response rate was 83.6%. Reliability and validity for the indicator items were ascertained through diagnostic tests. Model fitness was confirmed by use of SRMR and NFI. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling using Smart PLS 4.0 software was used for data analysis and to test hypothesis that there is no significant moderating effect of stakeholders’ management on the relationship between organizational characteristics and the performance of seaports in Anglophone Africa. The finding established positive and significant moderating effect of stakeholders’ management on the relationship. The study concluded that sound and competent stakeholders’ management enhances seaport container terminal performance thereby creating competitive advantage for ports in Anglophone Africa. The study adds to new knowledge, theory, policy and practice by recommending that seaports in Anglophone Africa should mitigate on possible conflicts from stakeholders while developing new ports or expanding existing ports by adopting stakeholder theory.

Effective mentorship usually guides and steers young professionals towards path of success in their professional career development. Majority of infant real estate developers in the developing countries including Ghana do not tap into mentorship opportunity to sharpen their professional tools due to the limited knowledge they have in the concept of mentorship. In spite of the limited empirical research conducted in real estate mentorship, this study serves to break grounds by assessing the opportunities and challenges existing in real estate industry. To achieve this purpose, study materials such as books, academic articles, theses and other documented sources were gathered to examine literature on the subject matter. Interviews were further conducted among some selected real estate developers in Ghana with the basis to establish the key facts and factors associated with the challenges and opportunities mentorship provides to mentees. It was discovered through this study that majority of the real estate developers (mentees) lack funds to undertake projects due to the difficulty they face to secure affordable funding. They also frequently face land litigation issues. The study suggests that the emerging real estate developers in Ghana could build their capacities to remedy such findings through mentorship opportunities available to them
