Today, with the digitalization of data, our project has been carried out to contribute to the developments in data analysis in telemedicine. A method has been developed for the detailed analysis of Bovine serum albumin, which is also used in cancer treatment, at different concentrations, with the use of an RGB data-based software that provides more detailed information and color homogenization compared to the colorimetric sensors used under the heading of point-of-care systems (POC). In this way, diagnostic technologies have become necessary to minimize the margin of error in health technologies and develop systems that do not cause economic difficulties. It is essential for the development of the health sector in our country and in the world to realize technological innovation in bedside systems and to contribute to the formation of this field. Our project, which we developed to make more detailed analyses with digitalization, wanted to draw attention to the importance of bovine serum albumin, an antimicrobial antigen used in many examination methods today, in diagnostic methods and to increase its effectiveness

Demand Forecasting in Retail Business Using the Ensemble Machine Learning Framework - A Stacking Approach

Demand forecasting is an integral component of organizational and supply chain operations. Its primary objective is to anticipate the future demand for products, thereby informing and refining strategic decisions related to inventory management. Despite the inherent complexities in achieving precise demand forecasts, many methodologies have been proposed for the establishment of efficient forecasting systems. Such methodologies encompass traditional statistical approaches, hybrid techniques, and advanced methodologies rooted in machine learning and deep learning. Scholarly investigations within demand forecasting indicate a growing preference for deep learning paradigms, especially when confronted with data characterized by multivariate attributes, high dimensionality, and unpredictable demand fluctuations. Given the research emphasis on the retail domain, a sector inherently marked by data that is both multivariate and possesses volatile demand characteristics, this study devised a Stacking Ensemble learner. A comparative assessment was subsequently conducted, evaluating this ensemble against a trained Multilayer Perceptron , a deep learning archetype. The evaluation utilized a historical sales dataset sourced from ten Walmart outlets across Texas, California, and Wisconsin. Evaluative metrics were employed to discern the forecasting proficiencies of the respective frameworks. The evaluation determined that the Stacking Ensemble model outperformed the Multilayer Perceptron in terms of accurate predictions

There is a dearth of study on the effects and consequences of augmented reality in the field of education, and research on augmented reality (AR) technologies is still in its early stages. A user can check virtual objects superimposed on live video of this display reality via visual following or plan rendering in mobile augmented reality. While there have been a number of studies on AR, the ways in which these studies define AR and the circumstances in which they apply AR differ significantly. The textbooks in our country are not well organized and brings monotony while studying the chapters. Augmented Reality technology can solve this problem. We have seen in various articles that this technology is being used successfully. The study has been conducted to establish an effective system for making the education process easier. The purpose is to ensure that students can learn chemistry by not only memorizing but by understanding the concepts for which Augmented Reality has been used. Augmented Reality will help to get 3D vision of the concepts of chemistry. From the system established, students will be able to learn the difficult concepts easily and can enhance their knowledge which will help to build a better understanding of the concepts of chemistry

Martial Arts Practice and Economic Development : A Comparative Analysis

There are few studies on the link inbetween the practice of martial arts and economic development of a country, especially in a comparative analysis. Most scientific works turn around topics such as martial arts and personal development, the spread of martial arts in the world, its actual practice or its industry. The aim of the present analysis is to shed more light in the interaction between martial arts practice and its impact on the fight against poverty or simply said socio-economic development. To reach that goal an analytic approach was adopted based on literature review, document  search, statistics following a mixed approach borrowing from both induction and deduction. The most economic developped countries were cross-analysed with the ones where martial arts is mostly practiced and later inferences were drawn concerning certain less developped countries with a special case study of the country Cameroon. The results shows that martial arts have the untapped potential to cultivate a better world for all and promote sustainable development at individual and community levels. Sport, development and peace are intertwined as stated by the author in [1]. Martial arts is the cement and the social determinants of health, wealth and education

CNN-resNet-50 Algorithm to Detect the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Using CT Images

The detection of the Covid-19 pandemic has been crucial in ensuring health safety and preventing the spread of the virus. In this paper, we present a novel approach by combining the CNN and ResNet-50 algorithms into a unified model. Our experimental results showcase the remarkable efficiency of the proposed method, outperforming both the individual CNN and ResNet-50 approaches. The hybrid CNN-ResNet-50 algorithm demonstrates its ability to automatically and effectively assist in the early diagnosis of COVID-19 patients. By leveraging this combined model, we aim to contribute to the improved detection and management of the pandemic

Potential Health Consequences of the El Paso Smelter

The city of El Paso, Texas previously had a smelter that employed a lot of individuals in surrounding areas. The smelter eventually closed, which led to public health officials investigating the health and environmental factors that the smelter had on the community. Testing has found that there were neurological, behavior, and blood lead levels elevated within children that were in the vicinity of the smelter. The smelter has created a lasting impact on the community, environment, and health of the individuals within that area

Operations Strategy and Operational Competencies in Organizational Performance: A Rapid Review

Increased competition in the business space calls for operations practitioners to make decisions continuously and implement necessary changes to gain and sustain competitive advantage. This rapid review sought to unravel linkages between operations strategy, operational competencies and organizational performance. Based on the core competency theory of strategy, the resource-based view and the open systems theory, it was hypothesized that operations strategy and operational competencies interrelate, and both predict organizational performance. Organizational performance was conceptualized by performance measures of return on investment (RoI), customer satisfaction and inventory turnover. The review established that more research has been done around operations functions in manufacturing compared to the service sector. It was further established that organizational performance highly rests on the existence of capabilities and services of each specific organization and hence, operational competencies mediate the relationship between operations strategy and organizational performance. Additionally, the achievement of a firm’s operations tactics depends highly on its ability to achieve the priorities of cost, quality, speed, flexibility and dependability. Recommendations in line with objectives were presented

Effect of Alternative Substrates on the Growth of Lycopersicumesculentum (Tomato) Seedlings

Tomato is the most important vegetable crop in Mozambique, being largely produced by the family and commercial sector. In this context, it is important to highlight that the quality of the seedlings is a fundamental factor in obtaining greater productivity andcommercial substrates are the most preferred for seedling production. However, their use is limited due to their high acquisition cost, which makes producers resort to seedling production in nurseries, but this option can cause losses due the risk of causing irregularity or lack of seed germination and poor seedling formation. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of the combination of commercial substrate Fertiplus organic substrates and cattle manure on the germination and initial growth of tomato (Lycopersicumesculentum) seedlings. A completely randomized statistical design was used, with five treatments and three replications, where the treatments consisted of using the following substrates: A – 100% Fertiplus; B – 80% Fertiplus and 20% cattle manure; C –60% Fertiplus and 40% cattle manure; D – 40% Fertiplus and 60% cattle manure; E – 20% Fertiplus and 80% cattle manure. At 35 days after sowing, the seedlings were evaluated for: Height, Stem Diameter, Number of Leaves, Emergence Rate ??Index, Dickson Quality Index; Root Dry matter; Total DryMatter andAboveground Dry Matter. The substrate containing 60% Fertiplus and 40% cattle manure showed better germination and initial growth results, which shows that it can be used as alternative to 100% Commercial substrate

Total Nutrient Element Status of Subsistence Agriculture Soils in Angola

Soil nutrient status in subsistence agricultural soils of Angola is poorly understood yet is vital in planning support and development of agricultural systems. This paper establishes the total nutrient status for two contrasting subsistence agricultural areas in Angola, within Huambo and Luanda provinces. Based on the World Reference Base for Soil Resources criteria (IUSS Working Group WRB, 2015, 2022) four soil catenas in each of Huambo and Luanda Provinces are classified as haplic Ferralsols and eutric Cambisols respectively. Mean and range total nutrient element values for twelve elements are determined (N, Ca, K, Mg, Mn, P, S, Zn, Cu, Mo, Fe, Al) with the results showing high variability and indicating that the haplic Ferralsols are below sub-Saharan averages for these elements while the eutric Cambisols are above these averages. Statistical analyses of relationships between soil nutrients and landscape factors by applying ANCOVA and pairwise comparisons using Tukey and Bonferroni tests indicate that underlying parent material has the biggest influence on element concentrations, further modified by slope processes; profile pedogenesis has had minimal contribution to element variances. Our findings highlight the need for detailed local analyses when planning supportive and effective nutrient management interventions
