Volverse depresivo/as. Relatos biográficos de etiquetamiento de depresión en usuarias/os de servicios de salud mental en Santa Fe, Argentina
Full text linkThis article analyzes biographical accounts of people from the middle sectors who acknowledge having depression and participate, as users, in mental health services in the city of Santa Fe, Argentina. It presents the results of an empirical investigation that research from a sociological perspective how and through which resources they come to be considered depressive or depressed. First, the article analyzes the process by which they acquire the depression label to reference their biographies. It describes the transition from a period of identity confusion, in which they cannot explain their emotions, to the recognition and acquisition of that term to account for their moods and identities. Second, it examines four ways of recognizing depression: from a biographical crisis, receiving a psychiatric diagnosis, participating in therapies and cultural resources such as books and the internet. Self-labeling, through the perception of emotional deviation is more relevant in the stories than external labeling, based on expert judgment. It concludes in the centrality that self-labeling involves in these emotional problems in contexts of biographical hyperreflexivity.Este artículo analiza relatos biográficos de personas de sectores medios que reconocen padecer depresión y participan, en calidad de usuarios, en servicios de salud mental en la ciudad de Santa Fe, Argentina. Presenta resultados de una investigación empírica que indaga desde un enfoque sociológico cómo y a través de que recursos llegan a considerarse depresivas/os o con depresión. Primero, analiza el proceso por el que adquieren el rotulo de depresión para referenciar sus biografías. Describe el tránsito desde un periodo de confusión identitaria, en el que no pueden explicar sus emociones, hasta el reconocimiento y la adquisición de ese término para dar cuenta sus estados anímicos e identidades. Segundo, examina cuatro modos de reconocimiento de la depresión, a saber: a partir de una crisis biográfica, recibir un diagnóstico psiquiátrico, participar en terapias y recursos culturales como libros e internet. En los relatos asume mayor relevancia el autoetiquetamiento mediante la percepción de desviación emocional que el etiquetamiento basado en el juicio de expertos. Concluye en la centralidad que comporta en estos problemas emocionales el autoetiquetamiento en escenarios de hiperreflexividad biográfica
Cuerpos comprados y cuerpos seducidos con azúcar: un análisis sobre los intercambios sexuales entre Sugar Babies y Sugar Daddies/Mommies en México
Full text linkThe following article discusses the results from our psychosocial study of the experiences of sexual exchanges between male and female Sugar Babies and Sugar Daddies/Mommies in Mexico. Throughout the analysis of eight free association narrative interviews, we show how female Sugar Babies have different understandings of their bodies compared to male Sugar Babies. Female Sugar Babies experience having a ‘body for sale’ before starting a relationship with a Sugar Daddy, whereas male Sugar Babies experience gifts and money as seductions, not exchanges, because they do not experience their own body as something that is for sale. Only later do male Sugar Babies accept that their bodies have been bought. In other words, whereas women start from the assumption of being sexual objects that can be bought and sold, men start from the assumption of being persons that cannot be bought and sold, but have their self-perceptions transformed through the sexual encounter with their Sugar Dadies/Mommies.En este artículo se discuten los resultados de nuestro estudio cualitativo sobre las experiencias y vivencias del cuerpo en los intercambios sexuales por dinero, tiempo y acompañamiento, entre Sugar Babies y Sugar Daddies/Mommies. A partir de la codificación, análisis y triangulación de ocho entrevistas narrativas de asociación libre (free association narrative interviews), en este artículo se discute cómo las mujeres Sugar Baby experimentan tener un “cuerpo a la venta” previo a entablar una relación con un Sugar Daddy, mientras que los hombres Sugar Baby reciben regalos y dinero como parte de juegos de seducción, y no como una compra de su cuerpo. Es hasta posterior a los encuentros sexuales de los hombres Sugar Baby que viven su cuerpo como si éste estuviera a la venta. En otras palabras, mientras las mujeres comienzan las relaciones de azúcar asumiendo ser objetos sexuales que pueden ser comprados, los hombres comienzan asumiéndose como personas que no pueden ser compradas, sin embargo, sus autopercepciones son transformadas a partir de los encuentros sexuales con sus Sugar Daddies y Mommies

Full text linkThis work, highly recommended for teachers of any type and level of education, explains the implication of the body in learning and proposes tools of theatrical origin to achieve an integral teaching from the students' body awareness. The volume is the result of different research and experiences carried out by the working group CE*CA* (Corps Enseignant Corps Apprenant), belonging to the CREAL Center (Coopération, Recherches, Échanges, Arts et Langues) in France and Germany, on the relationship of the body in the teaching-learning process. The book, which has a very didactic orientation, is organized in two large blocks of thematic chapters: first theoretical and then practical. The first part presents the knowledge that justifies the necessary exercise of the corporal, emotional, motivational, relational and psychosocial dimensions of the individual in the educational field. Secondly, a complete itinerary of activities is presented that allow the application in the classroom of everything previously postulated. These series of exercises are based on theatrical practices centered on anchoring, listening, collaboration, commitment, emotions, daring, memory and space.
Review of the book: BOURRAIN, S., DUPAYAGE, V., NADAL, M. y WALGENWITZ G. (2021) Le corps au cœur des apprentissages. PugEsta obra, altamente recomendable para docentes de cualquier tipo y nivel educativo, explica la implicación del cuerpo en el aprendizaje y propone herramientas de origen teatral para lograr una enseñanza integral a partir de la conciencia corporal del alumnado. El volumen es el fruto de diferentes investigaciones y experiencias llevadas a cabo por el grupo de trabajo CE*CA*(Corps Enseignant Corps Apprenant), perteneciente al Centro CREAL (Coopération, Recherches, Échanges, Arts et Langues) en Francia y Alemania, sobre la relación del cuerpo en el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje. El libro, que posee una orientación muy didáctica, se organiza en dos grandes bloques de capítulos temáticos: primero teóricos y después prácticos. En la primera parte se exponen los conocimientos que justifican el necesario ejercicio de las dimensiones corporales, emocionales, motivacionales, relacionales y psicosociales del individuo en el ámbito educativo. En segundo lugar, se presenta un completo itinerario de actividades que permiten aplicar en el aula todo lo postulado anteriormente. Estas series de ejercicios se basan en prácticas teatrales centradas en el anclaje, la escucha, la colaboración, el compromiso, las emociones, el atrevimiento, la memoria y el espacio.

Moral question and collective emotions in the crisis of the Republic in Italy (1989-1992). For a study of left- wing populism ante litteram
Full text linkLa crisis del sistema político italiano, particularmente aguda entre 1989 y 1994, se originó tanto en el contexto de grandes cambios internacionales como en el propio sistema, incapaz de resolver los principales problemas económicos, sociales y morales del país. Especialmente durante la década de 1980, la creciente corrupción del sistema político condujo a una mayor exigencia de moralidad y honestidad en la acción pública a fines de la década. Si bien algunas partes intentaron interpretar estos sentimientos, otras se vieron abrumadas por las investigaciones judiciales. El artículo examina los casos del Pds (nacido a partir de la disolución del Partido Comunista Italiano) y la Rete de Leoluca Orlando. Ambos intentaron movilizar una fuerte emocionalidad del momento, anticipando ciertos temas y modalidades de la siguiente temporada política, donde la llegada de Berlusconi trastocó las viejas divisiones políticas verticales derecha/izquierda. Construyeron los terrenos a través de los cuales ciertos movimientos populistas de izquierda -aún hoy poco estudiados- podrían encontrar un terreno fértil desde el cambio de siglo hasta nuestros días.The crisis of the Italian political system, which was particularly acute between 1989 and 1994, originated both in the context of major international changes and in the system itself, which was incapable of resolving the country's main economic, social and moral issues. Especially during the 1980s, the growing corruption of the political system led to an increased demand for morality and honesty in public action at the end of the decade. While some parties attempted to interpret these sentiments, others were overwhelmed by judicial investigations. The paper examines the cases of the Pds (born from the dissolution of the Italian Communist Party) and Leoluca Orlando's Rete. Both tried to ride the strong emotionalism of the moment, anticipating certain themes and modalities of the following political season, where the arrival of Berlusconi disrupted the old right/left vertical political divisions. They built the grounds through which certain left-wing populist movements - still little studied today - could find fertile ground from the turn of the century to the present day
Imágenes y significados corporales del cuerpo envejecido para mujeres mayores chilenas.
Full text linkChilean society has promoted the effacement of the aging body (Le Breton, 2002). From a neoliberal and consumerist system that builds it as a moldable object, according to the needs of the individual-user. Therefore, it tries to eliminate all presence of old age. These bodily features remind us of fragility, they threaten the socio-cultural maxims of productivity and vitality. Mainly, in the case of women belonging to the third and fourth age groups, who experience multi-factor discrimination. Along these lines, the following article examined the following question: What are the images and meanings of the aging body in 60-year-old Chilean women, which is answered through a systematic revision of the literature. The main results of the study indicate that older women report experiencing exclusion processes, associated with the demands of their environment to preserve beauty, a youthful and healthy appearance.
La sociedad chilena ha fomentado el borramiento del cuerpo envejecido (Le Breton, 2002). A partir de un sistema neoliberal y consumista que lo construye como objeto moldeable, acorde a las necesidades del individuo-usuario, por lo que intenta eliminar toda presencia de vejez. Estos rasgos corporales recuerdan la fragilidad, atentan contra las máximas socio-culturales de productividad y vitalidad. Principalmente, en el caso de las mujeres pertenecientes a los grupos de tercera y cuarta edad, quienes viven una discriminación multi-factorial. En esta línea, el siguiente artículo se pregunta ¿cuáles son las imágenes y significados sobre el cuerpo envejecido en mujeres chilenas mayores de 60 años? Interrogante, que se intenta responder a través de una revisión sistemática de revistas, sitios Web y libros especializados. Los principales resultados del estudio, señalan que las mujeres mayores manifiestan vivir procesos de exclusión, asociadas a las demandas de su entorno para conservar la belleza, una apariencia juvenil y saludable

Full text linkThe pre-agreement of the Argentine government with the Chinese State to expand pork production on a mega-industrial scale in the midst of a pandemic caused by a zoonosis constitutes the immediate motivation for this work. The production system that we will problematize obeys in the first instance to financial interests, but here we will reflect on one of the long-term cultural assumptions that shape the currently dominant human disposition towards nature: the disavowal (or denial) of it. First, we will expose the meaning of the Freudian concept of "narcissistic affront", and in particular of the human biological affront. Then, we will show the systematic relationship of this idea with the notion of "disavowal". In this way, we will explain a unique feature of the present that has been traversed by the pandemic, as well as other “risks” of our societies in ecological collapse. Next, we will argue that one of the sources of legitimation of the aforementioned denial continues to be the theological account of human sovereignty. Another model of relationship with nature, synthesized by Nietzsche, will allow us to reorient the critique of ecocidal ideology towards the theological and economic-political foundations that hinder our essential biological literacy, and close the way to conceptualizations that point to ecological justice.El preacuerdo del gobierno argentino con el Estado chino para ampliar la producción de carne porcina a escala mega-industrial en medio de una pandemia ocasionada por una zoonosis constituye la motivación inmediata de este trabajo. El sistema de producción que problematizaremos obedece en primera instancia a intereses financieros, pero aquí reflexionaremos sobre uno de los presupuestos culturales de largo plazo que dan forma a la disposición humana actualmente dominante ante la naturaleza: la renegación (o desmentida) de ésta. Primero, expondremos el sentido del concepto freudiano de “afrenta narcisista”, y en particular de la afrenta biológica humana. Luego, mostraremos la relación sistemática de esa idea con la noción de “desmentida”. Explicaremos con ello un rasgo singular del presente atravesado por la pandemia, así como por otros “riesgos” de nuestras sociedades en colapso ecológico. A continuación, argumentaremos que una de las fuentes de legitimación de la renegación mencionada sigue siendo el relato teológico de la soberanía humana. Otro modelo de relación con la naturaleza, sintetizado por Nietzsche, nos permitirá reorientar la crítica de la ideología ecocida hacia los fundamentos teológicos y económico-políticos que obstaculizan nuestra imprescindible alfabetización biológica, y cierran el camino a las conceptualizaciones que apuntan a una justicia ecológica
El muro de la memoria 8M 2021. Estéticas colectivas, afectos y cuerpos en resistencia
Full text linkThe paper analyzes feminist aesthetic-political practices during the 8th of March 2021 commemoration for the International Women's Day in Mexico City. The government fenced the perimeter of the National Palace with a metal wall on the eve of the demonstration, to avoid confrontations, as stated in the official discourse. By means of analyzing the expressive resources and the aesthetic-political, corporal and affective practices of the feminist protest, triggered by the placement of the metal fences, we identify three aesthetics-in-the-streets that impugned their installation and the State's message: 1) An aesthetics of feminist demands inscribed in the building-body of the National Palace, 2) The collective intervention of the metal wall and its resignification as a remembrance wall for the victims of feminicide, and 3) The aesthetics of rage and indignation in the confrontation of the bodies of the women who attempted to tear down the fences and the bodies of the police guarding the National Palace. The staging of collective aesthetics, affections and bodies in resistance, that enabled the reappropriation and collective re-signification of the sense and feeling of the 8M 2021 protest is analyzed.El artículo analiza las prácticas estético-políticas feministas durante el 8 de marzo de 2021, en la conmemoración por el Día Internacional de la Mujer en la Ciudad de México. En víspera de la marcha, el Estado cercó el perímetro de Palacio Nacional con un muro de metal para evitar confrontaciones según lo dijo el discurso oficial. A través del análisis de los recursos expresivos y las prácticas estético-políticas, corporales y afectivas de la protesta feminista que detonó la colocación de las vallas metálicas, identificamos tres estéticas-en-las-calles que impugnaron su instalación y el mensaje del Estado: 1) Una estética de las demandas feministas escritas en el edificio-cuerpo del Palacio Nacional, 2) La intervención colectiva del muro de metal y su resignificación como muro de la memoria de las víctimas de feminicidio, y 3) La estética de la rabia y la indignación en el enfrentamiento de los cuerpos de las mujeres que intentaron derribar las vallas y los cuerpos de la policía que resguardaban el Palacio Nacional. Se analiza la puesta en escena de estéticas colectivas, afectos y cuerpos en resistencia que posibilitaron la reapropiación y resignificación colectiva del sentido y el sentimiento de la protesta del 8M 2021
Neocolonizaciones del Siglo XXI: los cuerpos/emociones en el capitalismo digital
Full text linkUnraveling contemporary corporeal and emotional processes as a result of a series of multiscale technological and scientific colonizations is what Adrián Scribano's most recent book offers us: Colonization of the inner planet. In it, we find a route that without historiographic pretensions places us in a present – albeit dynamic – capable of explaining the cognitive, sensory and affective conquests, even hormonal and molecular, that capitalism has achieved in the 21st century, through mechanisms extractivists and consumer devices as [global] politics of the senses, sensibilities and morals. It is a theoretical-analytical proposal with an intersectional, antispeciesist and decolonial perspective with which to examine the colonization processes of humans and account for their possibilities of action.Desentrañar procesos corporales y emocionales contemporáneos como resultado de una serie de colonizaciones tecnológicas y científicas multiescalares es lo que nos ofrece el libro más reciente de Adrián Scribano: Colonization of the inner planet. En él, encontramos un recorrido que sin pretensiones historiográficas nos ubica en un presente –si bien dinámico– capaz de explicar las conquistas cognitivas, sensoriales y afectivas, incluso hormonales y moleculares, que el capitalismo ha alcanzado en el Siglo XXI, a través de mecanismos extractivistas y dispositivos de consumo como política [global] de los sentidos, las sensibilidades y la moral.
