Exploring the relationship between body mass index and physical fitness: Implications from a comprehensive study in a secondary school setting
Get PDFAssessing the physical fitness and body mass index (BMI) of students is crucial for understanding their overall health and well-being. This study aims to investigate the relationship between students' nutritional status, as measured by BMI, and their level of physical fitness. Physical and anthropometric tests were conducted to collect data on height, weight, and relevant physical indicators, which were used to calculate BMI. The data were analysed using percentage analysis to determine the frequency and percentage of students in different BMI categories and levels of physical fitness. However, it is important to note that this study had limitations, including a sample restricted to students from a single school, which might limit generalizability to the larger student population. Additionally, the study focused solely on the relationship between nutritional status (assessed through BMI) and physical fitness without considering other potential factors that might influence students' fitness levels. Future research should aim to expand the sample size to include a more diverse student population and investigate additional factors that might impact students' physical fitness levels. This study's findings contributed to the existing literature by providing valuable insights into the interplay between students' nutritional status, BMI, and their level of physical fitness
Analisis TPACK (Technological, Pedagogical, And Content Knowlodge) pada Materi Bioteknologi SMA/MA
Get PDFProses belajar menjadi kunci keberhasilan dalam hasil belajar. Guru diharapkan mampu mendesain, mengembangkan, dan menciptakan proses belajar yang baik dan menyenangkan. Masing-masing materi memiliki kemudahan dan kesulitan sendiri untuk diajarkan guru. Kesulitan dan kemudahan materi dapat dilihat dari respon dan hasil belajar siswa. Bioteknologi termasuk materi yang sulit dipahami oleh peserta didik karena mayoritas melibatkan materi yang mikroskopis. Guru diharapkan mampu memahami TPACK dalam pembelajaran sehingga peserta didik dapat memahami materi dengan baik dan benar. Oleh karena itu, perlu dilakukan penelitian mengenai analisi TPACK (Technological, pedagogical, and content, knowledge) untuk menciptakan proses pembelajaran yang kondusif. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan gambaran bagaimana TPACK materi bioteknologi yang dilakukan oleh guru di Indonesia. Sehingga, penelitian ini dapat menjadi ajuan bagi guru dalam mengimplementasi TPACK pada materi bioteknologi. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan studi literatur relevan baik dari artikel dan buku pelajaran, wawancara guru, dan analisis RPP yang digunakan. Pelaksanaan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari pengumpulan data, pengorganisasian, analisis dan penarikan interpretasi serta kesimpulan. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif. Validasi hasil analisis dilakukan kepada dosen ahli untuk memastikan data dan analisi yang dilakukan. Hasil penelitian diperoleh hasil bahwa guru telah menerapkan berbagai variasi pendekatan, model, metode, dan media dalam pembelajaran. Keberhasilan dalam proses belajar tidak lain tergantung pada bagaimana memahami didaktik dan pedagogi pada materi tersebut. Sehingga, guru tidak hanya memperhatikan konten materi, tapi juga dapat memahami kebutuhan peserta didik

This is very important because the phenomenon of cultural degradation in Gen Z is very concerning. The decline in the percentage of caring about basic literacy for junior high school students nowadays is very low. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method, which was chosen by the researcher so that the results obtained from data collection are explained as clearly as possible but easily understood by readers of the results of this study. In the first data collection, students only wrote words that were less organized or one could say they wrote randomly, some even couldn't tell the difference between poetry and pantun in their writing. Even the themes contained in the work have not been conveyed, and the choice of words used is still relatively simple, which can be roughly described as the average student's poetry writing work using only 5 words in 1 line. Meanwhile, in the second data collection, after students given a simple understanding and supported by displaying examples of simple poetry but has a deep moral value/message/mandate. Get PDFThis study applies a theoretical approach to phraseological syntax, as well as a qualitative descriptive methodological approach. Methods and techniques of data collection using the listening method combined with basic tapping techniques and advanced techniques in the form of note taking techniques. The method of data analysis is the distribution method with the direct element division technique (BUL) and the advanced technique in the form of the dissipation technique. Methods of presenting the results of the analysis in the form of informal methods and formal methods. This study obtained the results in the form of 10 forms of idiomatic phrases collected from Andrea's Ordinary People novel, namely the phrases stick your nose, subordinates, golden child of justice, blind pay, street vendors, raise your hands, open your mouth, wash money, go out of business, and cold-blooded. The patterns of idiomatic phrase formation consist of patterns of Noun+Noun (N+N), Noun+Noun+Noun (N+N+N), Noun+Adjective (N+Adj), Noun+Numeralia (N+Num), Verbs+Nouns (V+N), and Verbs+Adjectives (V+Adj). It is hoped that this research can add insight into the forms and patterns of idiomatic phrase formation in Andrea Hirata's Ordinary People novel as well as become a reference source for further research on similar topics
PENGUATAN KOMPETENSI TECHNOLOGICAL PEDAGOGICAL CONTENT KNOWLEDGE GURU MADRASAH TSANAWIYAH MELALUI PELATIHAN PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS ETNOPEDAGOGI
Get PDFThe habit of madrasah tsanawiyah teachers who have not integrated educational technology in learning is an important issue in this service. Thus, the competency of technological pedagocal content knowledge by providing ethnopedagogical-based learning training is crucial to be developed by private madrasah tsanawiyah teachers in Dumai, and this is the focus of dedication. This service aims to develop technological competence pedagocal content knowledge of tsanawiyah madrasah teachers through ethnopedagogical-based learning training. Participation action research is the method used in the implementation of this service. This dedication resulted in the development of technological competence pedagocal content knowledge of madrasah tsanawiyah teachers in Dumai City through ethnopedagogical-based learning namely; prepare material in accordance with the cultural conditions of the surrounding community, namely Malay culture; create teaching materials that are integrated with the local culture being observed; designing learning plans that will be used in line with the demands of learning objectives that involve teacher skills regarding technological knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, content knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge, technological content knowledge, technological pedagogical knowledge, and technological pedagogical content knowledge or pedagogical technological knowledge and content; designing instructional media (videos) that require students to be able to integrate Malay culture with the concepts learned in madrasas that involve technological knowledge, technological content knowledge, technological pedagogical knowledge, and technological pedagogical content knowledge; Learning practice begins by exploring students' initial knowledge of culture which will be integrated into science learning and guiding students to link their culture to scientific concepts involving technological pedagogical content knowledge or knowledge of pedagogic technology and content of madrasah teachers. This dedication concludes that the development of technological competence pedagocal content knowledge of tsanawiyah madrasah teachers can develop through ethnopedagogy-based learning training.Kebiasaan guru madrasah tsanawiyah yang belum mengintegrasikan teknologi pendidikan dalam pembelajaran merupakan isu penting dalam pengabdian ini. Maka, kompetensi technological pedagocal content knowledge dengan memberikan pelatihan pembelajaran berbasis etnopedagogi menjadi hal krusial dikembangkan oleh guru madrasah tsanawiyah swasta di Dumai, dan ini merupakan fokus pengabdian. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kompetensi technological pedagocal content knowledge guru madrasah tsanawiyah melalui pelatihan pembelajaran berbasis etnopedagogi. Participation action researchmerupakan metode yang dipergunakan dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini. Pengabdian ini menghasilkan bahwa pengembangan kompetensi technological pedagocal content knowledge guru madrasah tsanawiyah di Kota Dumai melalui pembelajaran berbasis etnopedagogi adalah; mempersiapkan materi sesuai dengan kondisi budaya masyarakat sekitar yaitu budaya Melayu; membuat bahan ajar yang diintegrasikan dengan kebudayaan lokal yang diamati; merancang rencana pembelajaran yang akan digunakan selaras dengan tuntutan tujuan pembelajaran yang melibatkan keterampilan guru tentang technological pedagogical content knowledge; merancang media pembelajaran (video) yang menuntut siswa untuk mampu mengintegrasikan kebudayaan Melayu dengan konsep pelajaran yang dipelajari di madrasah yang melibatkan kemampuan technological knowledge, technological content knowledge, technological pedagogical knowledge, dan technological pedagogical content knowledge; praktek pembelajaran dimulai dengan mengeksplorasi pengetahuan awal siswa terhadap budaya yang akan diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran sains serta menuntun siswa untuk menghubungkan budayanya menuju konsep ilmiah yang melibatkan kemampuan technological pedagogical content knowledge atau pengetahuan teknologi pedagogik dan konten guru madrasah. The method used for this study is a qualitative description method, which is a research method that provides descriptions and explanations in the form of descriptions of data based on scientific data obtained from various scientific references/literature. Based on the literature that has been collected and then analyzed and studied, the result is that autism is a form of disorder that affects the development of nerves and a person's ability to speak, interact and use the language used in language. Pengamatan Pelaksanaan Program Literasi Di Sekolah Dasar
Get PDFPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan program literasi yang ada di Sekolah Dasar di Pekanbaru. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 4 SD yang ada di Pekanbaru, yaitu SDN 58 Pekanbaru, SDN 82 Pekanbaru, SDN 87 Pekanbaru, dan SDN 177 Pekanbaru. Pengambilan data didapatkan dengan cara mewawancarai salah satu guru dari setiap SD tersebut, sehingga didapat hasil berupa data mengenai program literasi yang dilaksanakan di Sekolah Dasar Pekanbaru. Hasil dari Penelitian ini adalah Sekolah Dasar di Pekanbaru menerapkan literasi membaca menjadi literasi yang wajib dilakukan di sekolah. Dilaksanakannya literasi membaca di sekolah sangatlah penting untuk dilakukan karena Sekolah Dasar merupakan tempat yang tepat untuk menanamkan literasi membaca kepada siswa. Di sekolah dasar Pekanbaru, kegiatan literasi membaca dilakukan setidaknya 15 menit sebelum pembelajaran dimulai setiap paginya, selain itu terdapat berbagai macam program literasi lainnya yang dilaksanakan di Sekolah Dasar Pekanbaru
Students’ Perception of Using Podcasts to Improve Listening Skills at the 3rd Semester Students of English Department at Universitas Bandar Lampung
Get PDFThe process of developing listening skills involves capturing the speaker's words, grasping their intended message, and encompassing the roles of both speaker and listener, along with the auditory aspect. This study aims to investigate how students perceive the use of podcasts for enhancing listening skills among 3rd semester students in the English Department of Universitas Bandar Lampung. Employing qualitative methods, the research was conducted with a participant group of 34 students from the university's English Department. Data collection encompassed surveys and interviews involving 5 students. The collected data was analyzed by merging insights from both the surveys and interviews. The findings demonstrate noticeable enhancements in students' listening skills through the integration of podcasts as a learning medium. Consequently, students' viewpoints regarding podcast utilization for improving listening skills exhibited advancements in effectiveness and distinctiveness. Students expressed appreciation for the captivating and informative nature of this learning medium
The Development of English Learning Video on Recount Text to Enhance Students’ Reading Comprehension Skill.
Get PDFIn this age of technology, teachers must make learning materials exciting and beneficial to students. Some apps like Canva can help teachers create various English learning materials. Based on the researcher's observations, The researcher found several problems with students reading. This study aimed to investigate the development of an English learning video on recount text to improve the reading comprehension skills of tenth-grade students of SMA 5 Pekanbaru. The researcher used a model called Research and Development. The sampled class is grade X.7, The number of students in this study is 34. From the Researcher findings there was showed an improvement from the score of the t-test. The total score of the t-test was 33.42%. Based on the p-value was 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, there was a development of applying video toward students reading comprehension of recount text at the tenth-grade students of SMA 5 Pekanbaru.
 
The Effect of Using Think Pair Share to Improve Students’ Reading Skills
Get PDFReading is an active process of getting information and understanding from printed text media. Reading is one of the most important skills in language learning. Reading has challenges for many students; most students find it difficult to understand the topic of the text. Then, students are also passive in class. So, they couldn’t answer the question properly. Therefore, the teachers are expected to use a learning model that can overcome the problems in reading. This research aims to find out the effectiveness of Think Pair Share to improve students’ reading skills. This study was conducted at tenth grade students of MA Shofa Marwah which consist of 36 students. This research was quantitative research using quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test design. The data were collected through test in the form of multiple choice test. The mean score of the students in the experimental group was 88 while the mean score of the students in the control group was 72.19. The T-Test analysis showed that Sig. (2-tailed) was 0.000 which was less than 0.05 and the T-Test was more than T-table (8.514 > 2.04). The result indicated that the use of Think Pair Share was effective toward students’ reading achievement
