Global Times’ Framing for China’s Noopolitics in the South China Sea
Get PDFThe South China Sea (SCS) is an area of water endowed with rich natural resources and a strategic location for geopolitical interests. As the consequence, China has put the SCS in its list of the Great Rejuvenation Goals. China's modus operandi to attain its SCS ambition has been various in the way. It ranges from making land reclamation and artificial islands, sending citizens to artificial islands and further applying its jurisdiction and administration, conducting military activities, and wielding diplomacy efforts. Another path China undergoes to manifest its maritime empire in the SCS is media framing. This study highlights how China employs Global Times, its state-owned media, to construct the mind frame that the SCS belongs to China. To achieve the objective of the study, this paper use Zhongdang Pan and M Kosicky's framing analysis to identify Global Times' type of framing and qualitative method to seek the intention of the frame. This paper finds that Global Times assist the Chinese government in claiming the SCS by syntactic and rhetorical framing; dominantly quoting pro-China experts/academics/statesman, emphasising 'sovereignty' words and displaying a narration that the SCS belongs to China, using Chinese to name the islands in the SCS, and echoing 'no conflict in the SCS' rhetoric. This study proves that China is also pursuing its South China Sea Dream by exercising noopolitics
Blended Learning dan Hasil Belajar Biologi Siswa SMA: Sebuah Meta-Analisis
Get PDFPenerapan blended learning dalam pembelajaran biologi di tingkat SMA di Indonesia perlu dikaji lebih mendalam untuk memahami efektivitasnya dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan meta-analisis untuk mengumpulkan dan menganalisis data dari berbagai studi sebelumnya yang telah dilakukan mengenai penggunaan blended learning dalam pembelajaran biologi di SMA. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang mendalam mengenai efektivitas penerapan blended learning dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar biologi siswa SMA di Indonesia. Artikel jurnal yang digunakan sebagai sumber data penelitian ini berasal dari database Google Scholar dengan menggunakan kriteria-kriteria yang ditentukan oleh peneliti. Sebanyak 6 artikel dari jurnal dalam 5 tahun terakhir (2019-2023) terpilih sebagai subjek penelitian. Hasil meta-analisis menunjukkan bahwa penerapan blended learning secara keseluruhan memiliki effect size rata-rata sebesar 1.121, yang menandakan bahwa blended learning memiliki pengaruh yang tinggi terhadap hasil belajar biologi siswa. Dalam pelaksanaannya, ditemukan bahwa blended learning memiliki pengaruh tertinggi pada tingkatan kelas X dengan rata-rata effect size 1.866. Materi biologi yang paling efektif diajarkan menggunakan blended learning adalah materi klasifikasi makhluk hidup dengan rata-rata effect size 2.003, dan platform berbasis website seperti e-learning sekolah digunakan sebagai platform utama dengan rata-rata effect size 1.410. Berdasarkan hasil analisis ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan blended learning dalam pembelajaran biologi di SMA dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa, terutama pada tingkatan kelas X, materi klasifikasi makhluk hidup, dan menggunakan platform berbasis website sekolah

This can be seen from the emergence of various kinds of media, both print and electronic, that are developing in the midst of society. The media as a source of information must present information clearly. Clear in this case is clear in the news information and clear in the use of language. In line with this opinion. This study aims to determine the use of terms in news published on the UAD website. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The subject of this research is the use of terms used in the news on the UAD website. The data collection method used is the Simak, Gratis, Liba, Cakap (SBLC) method. There are two formulations that will be answered in this research; (1) how are the terms used in the UAD website; (2) What are the factors that cause the emergence of the term. This research produces written data. The results of the study show that there are 136 types of words with a total of 136 data, each consisting of 92 general term data and 44 special term data. Related to the factor of the use of terms, there are 116 accuracy data, 18 summary data and 2 data according to linguistic conventions. The dominant term factor used is the accuracy factor

Get PDFThis research aims to apply the phenomenological and psychosocial approaches in analyzing the main character in "L’Enfance d’un Chef" by Jean-Paul Sartre. In this study, the author uses a qualitative descriptive method to explore the subjective experience of the character and the concept of freedom in the literary work. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of human experience in their social environment through a phenomenological approach in literature. The study starts with identifying the background and context of the literary work and exploring the theories related to this research, including phenomenology and psychosocial theory. The author applies phenomenological and psychosocial approaches to analyze the main character and understand his subjective experience. The results show that the main character, Lucien, has a complex and interrelated subjective experience with his social environment. Phenomenological analysis helps the author understand how Lucien perceives and gives meaning to his life experience, while psychosocial analysis helps the author understand the social and psychological factors that influence Lucien's life experience. The conclusion of this study is that the phenomenological and psychosocial approaches can be used to analyze characters in literature and can provide a deeper understanding of the subjective experience of humans in their social environmen

Studi Kapasitas Leksikon Mental pada Subjek Berjenis Kelamin Laki-Laki dan Perempuan Melalui Alat Uji Asosiasi Kata: Suatu Kajian Psikolinguistik
Get PDFThe human brain's repository for all vocabulary and its representations is called the mental lexicon. The meaning and conceptualization of an individual or group are what connect brain words to one another. Men's and women's mental lexicons will be examined in this study to determine whether there are differences or similarities. A word association test tool was used by the researchers to support this study. This study used a word association test to examine the mental lexicons of male and female subjects from the two age categories. Descriptive qualitative research is used in this study. On the basis of the data analysis that has been described, it was determined that male and female subjects' mental lexicon capacities were significantly different. Female participants have a significantly higher mental lexicon capacity than male participants. Female participants exhibit decreased performance in the context of individual issues that have a negative emotional impact, whereas male participants exhibit an upward performance curve in each interview session without exhibiting emotional changes. This supports Tyng, Amin, Saad, & Malik's (2017) theory that emotions have a significant impact on thought processes, particularly those related to perception, attention, learning, memory, logic, and problem-solving
Pelatihan Menulis Paragraf Narasi dengan Menggunakan EYD Edisi V dalam Rangka Optimalisasi Gerakan Literasi Sekolah di SMA Negeri 2 Dumai
Get PDFEYD V Edition was introduced as an effort to update and improve the Indonesian spelling system. However, students' understanding of the use of EYD V Edition is still lacking, so that the effect on students' writing abilities is not optimal. Therefore, this study aims to provide special training to SMA Negeri 2 Dumai students in writing narrative paragraphs using EYD V Edition. This study uses a descriptive method involving SMA Negeri 2 Dumai students as participants. The training in writing narrative paragraphs was focused on using EYD V Edition. The results of this study showed an increase in students' ability to write narrative paragraphs after attending the training. In addition, the school principal and the monitoring team also gave a positive response to this activity. In conclusion, this study shows that training in writing narrative paragraphs using EYD V Edition can help students improve their writing skills. Mastery of good and correct spelling is an important factor in writing success, and the use of EYD V Edition can be an appropriate guide in writing Indonesian. It is hoped that this research can make a significant contribution in optimizing the literacy movement at SMA Negeri 2 Dumai and also provide input for the development of education in Indonesia broadly

Based on this, the purpose of this service is to provide an understanding regarding the writing of official letters according to the rules that apply to the administrative staff of the Faculty of Teaching and Education, Islamic University of Riau. The method used in this service is a classical and individual approach. Based on the results and discussion, it can be concluded that administrative staff of FKIP Islamic University can write and apply official letters according to the applicable rules, and training in writing official letters for administrative staff of FKIP Islamic University of Riau can be categorized as successful and according to the target

The method used in this study is descriptive analytic method with a research technique, namely the hermeneutic technique. Indikator dari keputusan pembelian yakni pengenalan masalah, pencarian informasi, evaluasi variabel, keputusan pembelian, perilaku pasca pembelian. dalam mengelola data menggunakan teknik analisis data Uji Validitas, Uji Reablitas, Uji T, Uji Koefisien Determinasi, dan Regresi Linier Sederhana menggunakan SPSS v.25.
