    Swamps in Indonesia are widely spread over four major islands, namely in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Papua, and Sulawesi Papua. The problem with acid-sulfate soils is when the pyrite layer is oxidized. This study used a two-factorial with completly randomized design (CRD). The first factor was flooding fluctuation an the second factor was lime with straw compost. The soil parameters tested were pH and soluble Fe. Observations in the second week of the treatment of fluctuations in puddles that were drained, then flooded and added with a mixture of 3 t ha-1 lime, and 2.5 t ha-1 of straw compos resulted in the highest pH of 6.21. The best soil pH was given lime at 3 t ha-1, both flooded and drained. Observations in the fourth week produced the highest pH, namely 4.80. The pH value of the slightly acidic soil was due to an oxidation-reduction process. The 2nd week of observation had the highest soluble Fe value of 221 mg kg1, which was due to the analysis of soluble Fe using a pH of 4.8 so that Fe2+ increased in dissolved Fe. The fourth week of observation had the lowest soluble Fe value of 56.34 mg kg-1. This was due to flooding and the application of a mixture of lime and rice straw compost. The results of the study show that the interaction of fluctuations in water, lime, and rice straw compost that can affect soil pH and the solubility of soil soluble iron (Fe2+)

    Peat soil is a soil that has been decomposed by organic matter. Man-made peatlands have been converted into agricultural land. In addition to being turned into agricultural land, some peatlands are also not used, causing the land to turn into shrubs and causing land to burn because it is not managed by the owner. Peatlands therefore consist of various types of land use. Peat soils in different types of land use have different characteristics. The purpose of the study was to determine the differences in some of the chemical properties of peatlands that have been used for shrubs, open land, and agriculture. To see the differences in soil chemical properties on various land uses, descriptive analysis, and standard deviation are used by presenting bar charts. The soil pH content on agricultural land is higher. The C-organic content in shrubs is higher than in agricultural land. Ash content on agricultural land is higher.     Marshes that are affected either directly or indirectly by the ebb and flow of seawater are known as tidal wetlands. The lack of soil nutrients like low pH, N, P, and K, as well as the high solubility of Al and Fe, which can poison plants, is the problem with tidal wetlands. The goal of the study was. to find out how the application of oil palm empty fruit bunch (EFB) ash and water hyacinth compost changed the pH, organic C, N, P, and K levels of the soil in tidal wetlands. The randomized complete design (CRD) method was used in this pot experiment, with two factors: 1) four applications of oil palm EFB ash, and 2) four applications of water hyacinth compost. Oil palm EFB ash had doses of 0 ton.ha-1, 1 ton.ha-1, 1.5 ton.ha-1, and 2 ton.ha-1, while water hyacinth compost had doses of 0 ton.ha-1, 2 ton.ha-1, 3 ton.ha-1, and 4 ton.ha-1, respectively. 32 experimental units were created when 16 treatment combinations were replicated twice. After four weeks of incubation, the soil was submerged in water to a height of 5 cm. The application of oil palm EFB ash and compost made from water hyacinths had significant effects on pH, N-NO3ˉ, available P, and K, but not organic C or N-NH4+.     Peatlands are developed for agricultural cultivation, such as oil palm. The agricultural sector contributes 13.5% of the total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Emissions from this sector are generally in the form of N2O 46%, CH4 45%, and CO2 9%. Recently, the focus on the development of peatlands for this activity has been so great, especially in relation to emissions of nitrous oxide (N2O). The potential for peatland to be used as agricultural land must pay attention to environmental aspects such as the level of N2O emissions. This study aims to determine the effect of wood activated to empty palm oil fruit bunches on N2O emissions from peatlands oil palm. This study used an allocation block design. The factors studied were the distribution of wood charcoal and empty palm oil bunches at 6 levels, namely: wood charcoal + 0 kg of empty palm fruit bunches; wood charcoal 0.75 kg + 0.75 kg of empty palm fruit bunches, and 0.375 empty palm fruit bunches+0.375 kg of wood charcoal; empty palm fruit bunch charcoal 1.5 kg+wood charcoal 1.5 kg. N2O gas was analyzed using the closed chamber method and the soil was analyzed for soil pH and field water capacity. The treatment was repeated 3 times, resulting in 18 experimental units. The results showed that on day 0, the application of wood charcoal and empty palm oil bunches did not affect N2O emissions, but on the 15 and 45 days.     Uji Antagonis Bacillus sp. dan Pseudomonas berfluorescens dari PGPR Akar Bambu Dalam Menekan Penyakit Layu Bakteri Ralstonia solanacearum Pada Tomat

    Bacterial wilt disease caused by Ralstonia solanacearum on tomato plants can reduce the quantity and quality, so it is necessary to control this disease. One of the controls that can be used is control using antagonistic agents. Bacteria Bacillus sp. and Pseudomanas fluorescens is an antagonist agent contained in PGPR which has the ability to suppress disease growth, increase plant root uptake of several nutrients and increase plant growth. This study aims to determine the effect of Bacillus sp. and P. fluorescens from bamboo roots in suppressing bacterial wilt disease of R. solanacearus in tomatoes. Using a Completely Randomized Design Method (CRD) consisting of 3 treatments, each treatment consisted of 6 replications so that 18 experimental units were obtained in vivo. Observations were made by measuring plant height, number of fruit, fruit weight and intensity of disease attack. The results obtained in this study indicate that the administration of Bacillus sp. and P. fluorescens were able to control bacterial wilt disease caused by Ralstonia solanacearum bacteria in tomato plants.Penyakit layu bakteri yang disebabkan oleh Ralstonia solanacearum pada tanaman tomat dapat menurunkan kuantitas dan kualitas sehingga perlu dilakukannya pengendalian terhadap penyakit tersebut. Salah satu pengendalian yang dapat digunakan yaitu pengendalian menggunakan agens antagonis. Bakteri Bacillus sp. dan Pseudomanas berfluorescens merupakan agens antagonis yang terdapat dalam PGPR memiliki kemampuan dalam menekan pertumbuhan penyakit, meningkatkan serapan perakaran tanaman terhadap beberapa nutrisi serta meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Bacillus sp. dan P. berfluorescens dari akar bambu dalam menekan penyakit layu bakteri R. solanacearus pada tomat. Dengan menggunakan Metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 3 perlakuan, setiap perlakuan terdiri dari 6 ulangan sehingga diperoleh 18 satuan percobaan yang dilakukan secara in vivo. Pengamatan yang dilakukan yaitu dengan mengukur tinggi tanaman, jumlah buah, berat buah dan intensitas serangan penyakit. Hasil yang didapatkan pada penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian Bacillus sp. dan P. berfluorescens mampu mengendalikan penyakit layu bakteri yang disebabkan bakteri Ralstonia solanacearum pada tanaman tomat.&nbsp

    Kemampuan Jenis PGPR dalam Menekan Serangan Nematoda Puru Akar (Meloidogyne spp.) pada Tanaman Seledri (Apium graveolens L.)

    Celery plant (Apium graveolens L.) is a cultivated plant that has high economic value, usually used as food flavoring, cooking seasoning and can also be used as a dish garnish. Functions for health such as drugs to lower high blood pressure for people with hypertension. One pest that can affect the quality and quantity of celery production is root knot nematode (NPA) caused by Meloidogyne spp. This study aims to determine the ability of PGPR species to suppress root knot nematodes (Meloidogyne spp.) on celery. This study was designed using a one-factor Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The factor tested was the effect of giving PGPR types namely elephant grass root, kalakai root, fern root and bamboo root. There were 5 treatments and 4 replications. The results showed that giving PGPR could reduce the intensity of root knot attacks and reduce nematode populations in the soil around the roots, as well as significantly affect the number of leaves (stalks) of celery at the age of 58 and 72 days after planting (dap) and weight. wet celery at the age of 44, 58 and 72 dap.Tanaman seledri (Apium graveolens L.) merupakan tanaman budidaya yang bernilai ekonomis tinggi, biasanya dapat digunakan sebagai penyedap makanan, bumbu masakan dan bisa juga digunakan sebagai hiasan hidangan. Berfungsi untuk kesehatan seperti untuk obat menurunkan tekanan darah tinggi bagi penderita hipertensi. Salah satu OPT yang dapat mempengaruhi kualitas dan kuantitas dari produksi seledri adalah nematoda puru akar (NPA) yang disebabkan oleh Meloidogyne spp. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan jenis PGPR dalam menekan serangan nematoda puru akar (Meloidogyne spp.) pada tanaman seledri. Penelitian ini dirancang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) satu faktor. Faktor yang diujikan adalah pengaruh pemberian dari jenis PGPR yakni PGPR akar rumput gajah, akar kalakai, akar pakis dan akar bambu. Ada 5 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian PGPR dapat menekan intensitas serangan puru akar dan mengurangi populasi nematoda ditanah sekitar perakaran, serta berpengaruh nyata pada jumlah daun (tangkai) seledri pada umur 58 dan 72 hari setelah tanam (hst) dan berat basah seledri pada umur 44, 58 dan 72 hst

    Performa Kambing Peranakan Etawah (PE) Jantan yang Memperoleh Suplementasi Urea Moringa Molasses Multinutrien Block (UMMMB) dalam Ransum

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan performa kambing PE Jantan yang diberikan pakan tambahan berupa pakan suplemen UMMB dengan UMMMB. Penelitian ini menggunakan 8 ekor kambing PE jantan, 4 ekor diberi suplemen UMMB sebagai kontrol dan 4 ekor diberi pakan suplemen UMMMB sebagai perlakuan. Setiap kambing percobaan diberi pakan dengan kadar TDN 61% dan PK 13%. Setiap kambing percobaan diberi pakan hijauan dan pakan suplemen UMMB dan UMMMB sebanyak 200 gram. Perlakuan penelitian ini adalah P0 (Kontrol dengan pemberian hijauan rawa ad libitum + UMMB sebanyak 200 gram) dan P1 (Perlakuan dengan pemberian hijauan rawa ad libitum + UMMMB sebanyak 200 gram). Data yang di peroleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji banding yaitu uji t (t-Test Independent Sample). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pakan suplemen  UMMB dan UMMMB tidak menunjukkan perbedaan yang nyata (P>0,05) terhadap rataan konsumsi ransum harian (kg), rataan konsumsi bahan kering (BK), rataan PBBH (kg/ekor), dan rataan efisiensi ransum (kg) pada ternak kambing. Kelompok perlakuan UMMMB (P1) memiliki rataan PBBH lebih baik sebesar (0,074kg/ekor) dibandingkan kelompok kontrol UMMB (P0) (0,066kg/ekor)

    Penggunaan Limbah Roti Sebagai Sumber Energi dalam Ransum Terhadap Bobot Akhir, Persentase Karkas, Persentase Lemak Abdominal dan IOFC Itik Peking

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian limbah roti dalam ransum terhadap bobot akhir, persentase karkas, persentase lemak abdominal dan IOFC itik peking.  Penelitian dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Kandang Unggas sebagai tempat percobaan dan di Laboratium  Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak Fakultas Pertanian ULM Banjarbaru sebagai tempat uji laboratorium sampel. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), dengan 5 perlakuan dan      4 ulangan, dimana setiap ulangan terdiri dari 4 ekor itik peking sehingga jumlah DOD yang digunakan adalah 80 ekor.  Sebagai perlakuan adalah limbah roti dalam bentuk tepung pada pakan itik peking sebagai sumber energi pengganti jagung kuning. Perlakuan penelitian meliputi :P0 (Tanpa limbah roti (kontrol), P1 (Penggunaan limbah roti 10 % dalam ransum), P2 (Penggunaan limbah roti 20 % dalam ransum), P3 (Penggunaan limbah roti 30 % dalam ransum), P4 (Penggunaan limbah roti 40 % dalam ransum).  Hasil penelitian penambahan tepung limbah roti 40% meningkatkan pertambahan bobot akhir sebesar 1,482,50 g/ekor, meningkatkan persentase karkas sebesar 64,73 % dengan kandungan lemak abdominal 2,96 %.  Penambahan tepung limbah roti 40% menghasilkan IOFC tertinggi sebesar Rp 14,787 dan mampu menurunkan harga ransum dari Rp 5,419/ kg menjadi Rp 3,717/kg

    Pemanfaatan Tepung Kulit Pisang Sebagai Bahan Pakan Alternatif Terhadap Kualitas Karkas Itik Raja

    Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh penggunaan tepung kulit pisang (TKP) sebagai bahanpakan alternatif pada ransum terhadap kualitas karkas yang meliputi: bobot potong, persentasekarkas, presentase giblet dan persentase lemak abdominal itik Raja. Metode yang digunakan adalahrancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan lima kali ulangan. Jumlah itik Rajadalam penelitian ini adalah 60 ekor. Sebagai perlakuan dalam percobaan adalah KP0 (Tanpapenggunaan TKP dalam ransum), KP1 (penambahan 12% TKP dalam ransum), KP2 (penambahan24% TKP dalam ransum), dan KP3 (penambahan 36% TKP dalam ransum). Pakan yang diberikansesuai rekomendasi NRC. Pakan dan air minum diberikan ad libitum selama 42 hari percobaan.Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam, dan jika menunjukkan pengaruh yang nyatadilanjutkan dengan uji beda nilai tengah menggunakan uji beda nyata terkecil. Hasil percobaanmenunjukkan bahwa penggunaan TKP pisang berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap bobotpotong, tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap persentase karkas, serta berpengaruh nyata(P<0,05) terhadap persentase giblet dan persentase lemak abdominal itik raja. Disimpulkan bahwapenggunaan TKP dapat menjadi bahan pakan alternatif dengan batasan penggunaan 10%-24%dalam ransum

    This study was aimed to determine the effect of banana peels as energy source in thediet on the performance of king duck, those were feed intake, body weight gain, final bodyweight, feed conversio, and Income Over Feed and Duck Cost (IOFDC). Research method inthis study was completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and five replications.Each replication consisted of three ducks, thus ducks used in this study was 60 head. Treatmentsin this experiment were KP0 (Without starchy banana skin (control) in the ration, KP1 = feedcontaining 12% flour banana peel in the ration, KP2 = feed containing 24% flour banana peelin the ration, and KP3 = feed containing 36% flour banana peel in the ration. The use ofbanana peels flour in treatment KP1 was effective as indicated by feed consumption, bodyweight gain, liveweight, and feed conversion. However, the highest weight gain and liveweightwere obtained from control treatment, that were 758.67 and 1106.67 g / head, respectively.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tingkat penggunaan kulit pisangsebagai sumber energi dalam ransum terhadap performans itik Raja, yaitu konsumsi ransum,pertambahan bobot badan, bobot badan akhir, konversi ransum dan analisis Income Over Feedand Duck Cost (IOFDC). Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalahRancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Setiap ulanganterdiri dari tiga ekor. Jumlah itik Raja dalam penelitian ini adalah 60 ekor. Perlakuan dalampenelitian ini yaitu KP0= Tanpa mengandung tepung kulit pisang (kontrol) dalam ransum,KP1= Pakan mengandung 12% tepung kulit pisang dalam ransum, KP2= Pakan mengandung24% tepung kulit pisang dalam ransum, dan KP3= Pakan mengandung 36% tepung kulit pisangdalam ransum. Pemberian tepung kulit pisang talas yang efektif terdapat pada perlakuan KP1dengan campuran 12% baik dilihat dari segi konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, bobotbadan akhir maupun konversi ransum. Pertambahan bobot badan dan bobot badan akhirtertinggi didapat dari kontrol yaitu 758,67g/ekor dan 1106,67 g/eko
