The Role of Marketing Technology Adoption on Farmers’ Economic Sustainability through Market Access as a Mediating Variable

Purpose: This study aims to analyze the effect of marketing technology adoption on farmers’ economic sustainability and to examine the mediating role of market access in strengthening this relationship. Methodology: A quantitative descriptive–associative approach was employed using 330 farmers selected through the Isaac & Michael sampling table from a population of 6,563. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using path analysis with SPSS 27 to test both the direct and indirect effects of marketing technology adoption on economic sustainability through market access. Findings: The results show that marketing technology adoption significantly improves both market access and farmers’ economic sustainability. Market access also demonstrates a strong positive effect on economic sustainability and partially mediates the relationship between technology adoption and sustainability outcomes. These findings indicate that digital marketing tools become more impactful when they successfully expand farmers’ access to broader and more competitive markets, rather than functioning as isolated technological interventions. Originality: The novelty of this study lies in its analytical approach, which incorporates market access as a mediating mechanism linking marketing technology adoption to farmers’ economic sustainability. Unlike previous studies that examine these variables separately, this research provides empirical evidence on how digital adoption translates into economic benefits through improved market connectivity among smallholder farmers. Research limitations: This study is limited to farmers in Nagrak District, with data collected solely through questionnaires. This may not fully capture deeper behavioral, contextual, and technological adoption dynamics. Practical implications: The findings highlight the importance of integrating digital marketing initiatives with efforts to broaden market linkages. For policymakers and farmer institutions, strengthening e-commerce readiness, market networks, and digital literacy programs can significantly enhance farmers’ bargaining power and long-term economic sustainabilit

English Slang in EFL Classroom Interactions: A Scoping Review of Usage Patterns, Perceptions, and Learning Outcomes:

Rapid exposure to digital communication has increased students’ use of English slang, yet its role in EFL classroom interaction remains insufficiently mapped across diverse contexts. Although studies have examined isolated aspects such as usage patterns or motivational effects, evidence remains fragmented, geographically uneven, and inconsistent in its implications for pedagogy. Responding to this gap, the present scoping review synthesizes two decades of research on the use of English slang in EFL classroom interactions, examining usage patterns, perceived benefits and challenges, and links to motivation and participation. A systematic search across four databases identified 23 eligible studies published between 2004 and 2024. Narrative and thematic synthesis revealed that slang use is pervasive in peer interaction and strongly shaped by social media exposure, with students demonstrating pragmatic awareness by shifting between formal and informal registers depending on context. Strong evidence indicates that slang can enhance engagement, social connection, confidence, and willingness to communicate, while also reducing language anxiety. However, students frequently struggle with determining appropriate contexts for slang use, and teachers express uncertainty regarding instructional boundaries. These findings suggest that slang represents an authentic linguistic resource that, when addressed through explicit instruction in register and pragmatic competence, can support communicative development. While methodological limitations and uneven research contexts remain, this review provides the first comprehensive mapping of the field and identifies a clear agenda for future inquiry into classroom practice, teacher training, and long-term learning outcomes. Keywords: Engagement Slang, EFL classroom interaction, Pragmatic competence, Student Motivatio

Javanese women experiencing involuntary childlessness often face strong cultural pressures that can impact their psychological well-being and marital satisfaction. This study aims to examine the relationship between husband’s social support, self-acceptance, and marital satisfaction in Javanese women with involuntary childlessness. Using a quantitative approach and a multiple-correlation design, data were collected from 157 participants via purposive sampling. Instruments included the Social Support Questionnaire (SSQ), Berger\u27s Self-Acceptance Scale, and the ENRICH Marital Satisfaction (EMS) Scale. Analysis using Pearson correlation and multiple regression showed that both husband’s social support and self-acceptance were significantly related to marital satisfaction (F = 96.892; p < 0.001). Social support showed a strong positive correlation (r = 0.712), while self-acceptance had a moderate correlation (r = 0.322), both significant at p < 0.001. These findings highlight the vital role of husband’s support in enhancing self-acceptance and marital satisfaction. The study underscores the importance of relational support within the Javanese cultural context. Keywords: involuntary childlessness, husbands’ social support, marital satisfaction, self-acceptanc

How to Improve the Self-Esteem of Minangkabau Teenagers Through Agentic Group Guidance?

Self-esteem is now a global psychological issue that influences mental well-being, achievement, and social relationships. However, research linking self-esteem development to a culture-based counseling approach remains limited, especially in the Minangkabau context, which is rich in values of togetherness and independence. This type of research is a quantitative quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent design. The subjects of this study were 20 students of Batipuh 1 State Senior High School. The research instrument was a self-esteem checklist developed using a Likert scale. Data were analyzed using the N-Gain test, the Wilcoxon test, and the Mann-Whitney test . The results showed that the Agentic group guidance service in the experimental group was "quite effective" in increasing students\u27 self-esteem with an N-Gain of 57.5 while the control group was 32.3. The Mann-Whitney test produced p = 0.001 (<0.005). This research is novel in integrating Bandura\u27s socio-cognitive theory of agentic behavior with Minangkabau cultural values, resulting in a contextual and culturally sensitive agentic group guidance model. This model has the potential to be an effective framework for developing culture-based counseling interventions in a multicultural society. Career Interests Among Young Adults of Minang Ethnicity in the Overseas of Lubuk Linggau City

This study examines the career interests of Minangkabau young adults living in Lubuk Linggau using the Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT) framework. A mixed-methods explanatory sequential design was conducted, starting with quantitative data from 78 members of the Minang Family Association assessed through Holland’s RIASEC model, followed by in-depth qualitative interviews. The findings show that the Realistic type dominates career interests, followed by Artistic, Enterprising, Investigative, Social, and Conventional. Qualitative results reveal that career preferences develop through early apprenticeship experiences, informal skill learning within the merantau tradition, and exposure to entrepreneurial role models in diaspora networks. Internal motivation and self-confidence interact with family expectations, educational pathways, and cultural values emphasizing resilience and independence in work. Theoretically, this study contributes to SCCT by demonstrating cultural migration practices shape self-efficacy and outcome expectations. Practically, the findings suggest the need for culturally responsive career guidance to support youth employability in diaspora contexts. Fundamental Determinants of Stock Returns: Evidence from Property and Real Estate Companies

Purpose: This study aims to examine the impact of key financial indicators on stock returns of property and real estate companies during the 2020Q2–2024Q4 period. The research seeks to identify which financial ratios most strongly influence market valuation in a sector characterized by high capital intensity and cyclical demand, particularly during the post-pandemic recovery phase. Methodology: The study adopts a quantitative approach using secondary panel data from ten listed companies. Multiple linear regression analysis with the Random Effect Model (REM) was applied using Eviews. Findings: The results indicate that leverage has a negative and significant effect on stock returns, implying that higher debt exposure increases financial risk and weakens investor sentiment. In contrast, profitability shows a positive and significant relationship, suggesting that greater equity efficiency enhances profitability and investor confidence. Liquidity and Market Value exhibit no significant impact, indicating that short-term liquidity and per-share earnings are less influential in determining stock performance in this sector. These findings confirm that investors in property and real estate prioritize risk management and capital efficiency over temporary liquidity or earnings fluctuations. Originality: This study contributes to the literature by incorporating both the Covid-19 downturn and recovery periods, providing updated empirical evidence on how financial ratios serve as market signals consistent with signaling theory and capital structure theory in emerging markets. Research limitations: The limited sample size and sector-specific scope may constrain generalizability to other industries. Practical implications: The results highlight the strategic importance of prudent leverage management and efficient equity utilization for maintaining investor trust and sustaining long-term stock performance

Gender Differences in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Ability: A Cross-Sectional Study in Adolescents in Indonesia

This study aims to analyze gender differences in Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) abilities among adolescents in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Using a cross-sectional approach, 521 adolescents (230 boys and 291 girls) aged 15–18 years participated in this study. The research instruments used have been culturally adapted to measure the five dimensions of SEL: emotion regulation, empathy, cooperation, leadership, and stress resilience. Data analysis using independent samples t-test and MANOVA showed that adolescent girls were significantly superior in emotion regulation (p < 0.001), empathy (p < 0.001), and cooperation (p = 0.002), while adolescent boys were better at leadership (p < 0.001) and stress resilience (p < 0.001). These findings indicate that gender differences in SEL are influenced by biological factors and Javanese social and cultural norms typical of Yogyakarta, where women are encouraged to be more empathetic and harmonious. At the same time, men are expected to be more independent and resilient. The study\u27s implications emphasize the importance of developing SEL programs that are responsive to gender and local contexts, such as stress-management training for women and increased empathy and cooperation for men. Thus, appropriate interventions can more holistically support adolescent social-emotional development.  Keywords: social emotional learning, gender differences, adolescents, yogyakarta, javanese culture
