No full textThis is a 45 page selection of a Memoir that can also stand alone as its own body of work.This project is the first six chapters of a memoir entitled This Will be the Life of Me. The memoir, written in a first person reflective voice tells true stories of struggle, humor, death, hard times, trouble, and adolescence. Personal battles with depression, a house fire, and a blinding car accident are related among many other stories. This Will be the Life of Me takes the reader on a journey from adolescence to adulthood through some of the more significant events that shaped the author's life

Nonlinear optical materials are electromagnetic (i.e. light) frequency modulating compounds synthesized and engineered for use in technology such as Lasers (Medical, Optical/Electronics data (CD's, DVD's), Spectroscopy), Fiber optic devices, telecom devices, and any other piece of equipment with a function of changing the frequency of a signal of light. The class of materials I synthesized at this university is extremely useful and is sold to a multi-billion dollar global market demand. These materials are extremely high quality optically active compounds, and were synthesized on a nearly nonexistent budget and under standard conditions (atmospheric pressure, room temperature, neutral pH). This research is cutting edge, and is a step into the future of optoelectronics materials synthesis and engineering, whose products will generate significant revenue for the university... or rather the state

Adiós Muchachos is a candid insider’s account of the leftist Sandinista revolution in Nicaragua. During the 1970s, Sergio Ramírez led prominent intellectuals, priests, and business leaders to support the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN), against Anastasio Somoza’s dictatorship. After the Sandinistas overthrew the Somoza regime in 1979, Ramírez served as vice-president under Daniel Ortega from 1985 until 1990, when the FSLN lost power in a national election. Disillusioned by his former comrades’ increasing intolerance of dissent and resistance to democratization, Ramírez defected from the Sandinistas in 1995 and founded the Sandinista Renovation Movement. In Adiós Muchachos, he describes the utopian aspirations for liberation and reform that motivated the Sandinista revolution against the Somoza regime, as well as the triumphs and shortcomings of the movement’s leadership as it struggled to turn an insurrection into a government, reconstruct a country beset by poverty and internal conflict, and defend the revolution against the Contras, an armed counterinsurgency supported by the United States. Adiós Muchachos was first published in 1999. Based on a later edition, this translation includes Ramírez’s thoughts on more recent developments, including the re-election of Daniel Ortega as president in 2006.This references the paperback edition. No full textThis work is intended to display my ability as a writer and my style as a narrator.When a young girl's abusive father is suddenly caught and murdered by the mysterious Stranger, her small world is suddenly and irrevocably transformed. While the girl struggles with her new reality, the Stranger struggles with himself and an unknown bond that they are destined to create.
The chapter included is a small part of a much larger novel but its importance is paramount. While the storyline in the chapter is rather self-contained, the greater plot hinges on the characters that are introduced and their importance to each other
