"Departure from canon: an analysis of the mangaesque and animesque elements in Aku no Hana (the flowers of evil)
No full textEl binomio formado por manga y anime es ampliamente conocido tanto por investigadores académicos como por aficionados. Hoy en día, un número muy importante de títulos de anime todavía surgen a partir de otras series homónimas de manga. Sin embargo, más allá de las adaptaciones más literales, existe un subconjunto de obras de manga a anime que, como consecuencia de las elecciones técnicas y/o creativas, plantean una ruptura de las convenciones comunes a ambos medios. En este artículo propongo un análisis del manga Aku no Hana (Las Flores del Mal) de Oshimi Shūzō —que toma su nombre de la obra de Baudelaire— y de su polémica adaptación, por el uso de la técnica de la rotoscopia, a una serie de anime, prestando especial atención a los elementos mangaescos y animescos presentes en ambos.The manga-anime partnership is widely known to both academic researchers and aficionados. Nowadays, a large number of anime series still originate from the namesake manga series. However, there is a subset of manga-to-anime works apart from main-stream, born from technical and/or creative choices, departing from the conventionalized elements usually shared by both media. In this article I present an analysis of Aku no Hana (The Flowers of Evil), a manga series by Oshimi Shūzō —named after Baudelaire's sem-inal work— and its controversial anime adaptation, known for using rotoscoping, paying special attention to the mangaesque and animesque elements found within.peerReviewe
Analysis of the parameters of the serve and serve-return in professional padel
No full textEl objetivo del estudio es analizar parámetros del saque y resto en función del tipo de punto, efectividad del punto y número de golpeos. Se analizaron mediante observación sistemática 422 puntos correspondientes a 8 partidos (4 masculinos y 4 femeninos) del torneo Barcelona Master Finals del circuito World Padel Tour 2022. Los resultados no muestran diferencias en la eficacia del saque en pádel masculino (p=.6) y femenino (p=.625), habiendo una diferencia del 24-31.2% y .8-7.4% entre ganar y perder el punto en hombres y mujeres respectivamente. En pádel masculino, el tipo de punto no afecta a la dirección del saque (p=.627), altura del resto (p=.788), dirección del resto (p=.683), jugador tras resto (p=.842) y resultado del punto (p=.098). Tampoco tiene efecto en pádel femenino en la dirección del saque (p=.529), altura del resto (p=.888), dirección del resto (p=.883), jugador tras el resto (p=.292) y resultado del punto (p=.720). Los chicos muestran más igualdad con restos con globo (p=.395), restos paralelos (p=.774) y sacador como jugador tras resto (p=.782). Las chicas con restos planos (p=.642), restos cruzados (p=.730) y la compañera de la sacadora como jugadora tras el resto (p=.072) muestra una mayor igualdad. Jugadores masculinos tienden a ganar puntos con una media de 8.57±6.247 golpeos y a perderlos con 11.56±7.360 golpeos (p=.003), jugadoras femeninas tienden a ganar puntos de 9.88±5.464 golpeos y pierden puntos de 12.40±7.561 golpeos (p=.005). En conclusión, no hay diferencias en las variables, pero pequeñas divergencias que deben tenerse en cuenta para la eficacia del servicio.The aim of the study is to analyse serve and return parameters according to the type of point, effectiveness of the point and number of strokes. A total of 422 points corresponding to 8 matches (4 men's and 4 women's) of the Barcelona Master Finals tournament of the World Padel Tour 2022 circuit were analysed by systematic observation. The results show no differences in the efficiency of the serve in men's padel (p=.6) and women's padel (p=.625), with a difference of 24-31.2% and .8-7.4% between winning and losing the point in men and women respectively. In men's padel, point type does not affect serve direction (p=.627), return height (p=.788), return direction (p=.683), player after return (p=.842) and point score (p=.098). It also has no effect in women's padel on serve direction (p=.529), return height (p=.888), return direction (p=.883), player after return (p=.292) and point score (p=.720). The boys show more equality with lob serves (p=.395), parallel serves (p=.774) and server as player after serve (p=.782). Girls with flat serves (p=.642), cross-court serves (p=.730) and server partner as player after serve (p=.072) show more equality. Male players tend to win points with a mean of 8.57±6.247 strokes and lose points with 11.56±7.360 strokes (p=.003), female players tend to win points with 9.88±5.464 strokes and lose points with 12.40±7.561 strokes (p=.005). In conclusion, there are no differences in the variables, but small divergences to be taken into account for service efficiency.peerReviewe
Amphiatlantic Dolphins’ Prey: Indicators of speciation, trophic competition and global warming? A review
No full textA review of the prey of three amphiatlantic dolphin species, Tursiops truncatus, Stenella coeruleoalba and Delphinus delphis, is carried out. The main objective of this work is to review the feeding of these species in the Atlantic in order to assess the degrees of trophic competition and speciation pressure. A total of 103 fish families, 22 cephalopod families and 19 crustacean families have been counted, from which the species identified to the genus level only included seventy-one fish, twenty cephalopods and five crustaceans, and the total species identified included three-hun- dred-one fish, fifty cephalopods and twenty-six crustaceans. The most consumed prey were fish, followed by cephalopods and crustaceans. The exclusive prey consumed by each of the three dol- phin species, as well as those shared by all or at least two of them, have also been counted. T. trun- catus is the most general; however, the western Atlantic populations exhibit high dietary specializa- tion compared to the eastern Atlantic populations, reflecting strong speciation pressure on both sides of the Atlantic. D. delphis and S. coeruleoalba, despite their amphiatlantism, have hardly been studied in the western Atlantic, except for a few references in the southern hemisphere, so the fun- damental differences between the two species and their comparison with T. truncatus have been established with records from the eastern Atlantic. All three dolphin species have been observed to be expanding, especially D. delphis. This northward expansion and that of their prey is discussed.peerReviewe
The modularity of agreement variation
No full textIn this article, following Ormazabal & Romero (2022) insights, a modular approach to agreement variation is proposed where syntactic relations are uniform, dialectal variation is determined in morphology, and extragrammatical modules deal with sociolinguistic variation. Comparative and systematized study on judicial activism: socio-legal heterodox analysis of the institution and its unwanted effects
No full textRevisión crítica de Derecho Comparado, Sociología Jurídica, Filosofía Político-Jurídica y Nueva Economía Política, aplicado a la figura del activismo judicial y sus efectos. Se trata de un problema creciente en democracia y Estado de Derecho, al no respetarse la separación efectiva de poderes y tenderse a la confusión entre el Poder Ejecutivo y el Poder Judicial. Se ofrece aquí un análisis de naturaleza político-jurídica y de efectos no deseados de la figura y su sistematización, ilustrada empíricamente con sentencias. Se completa todo ello con un dictamen sobre la supuesta crisis institucional y de régimen político-jurídico que comporta.This is a critical review on Comparative Law, Legal Sociology, Political-Legal Philosophy and New Political Economy, applied to the institution of judicial activism and its effects. This is a growing problem in democracy and the rule of law, as the effective separation of powers is not respected and there is a tendency towards confusion between the Executive Branch and the Judicial Branch. Here, there is an analysis of the political-legal nature and unwanted effects on the figure and its systematization, empirically illustrated with sentences. All of this is completed with a ruling on the alleged institutional crisis and political-legal regime that it entails.peerReviewe
La música en la intervención psicológica
No full textEn el mundo actual, el papel terapéutico de la música está bien documentado y ha sido estudiado en innumerables ocasiones. La música surge de los latidos del corazón, de la respiración a través de los pulmones... son dos ejemplos de su presencia. Actualmente, como recurso con fines terapéuticos, es frecuentemente utilizada en el trabajo con personas diagnosticadas con la enfermedad neurodegenerativa de Alzheimer (Moreira et al, 2018). Sin embargo, su uso no se limita al contexto en el que existe algún tipo de lesión, patología o enfermedad, sino que puede ser utilizado de diversas maneras, como por ejemplo, fomentando la actividad física regular, así como en el desarrollo educativo de los estudiantes, entre otros. El objetivo de este artículo fue investigar la diversa literatura existente y, a partir del análisis de la revisión teórica, contribuir para la planificación de proyectos futuros, a saber, un proyecto educativo a ser implementado durante la práctica profesional en escuelas primarias y secundarias; ¡en un intento de intervención psicológica donde la música desempeñará un papel fundamental y proactivo para contribuir a un aprendizaje excelente!In today’s world, the therapeutic role of music is well documented and has been the subject of countless studies. Music springs to life from the beating of the heart, from breathing through the lungs... these are two examples of its presence. Currently, as a resource for therapeutic purposes, itis often used in work with people diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease Alzheimer’s (Moreira et al, 2018).However, its use is not limited to the context in which there is some form of injury, pathology or dementia; it can be used in various ways, for example: to encourage regular physical activity, as well as in the educational development of students, among others. The aim of this article was to investigate the diverse existing literature and, by analyzing the theoretical review, contribute to the planning of future projects, namely an educational project to be implemented during the professional internship in primary and secondary schools; in an attempt to intervene psychologically, where music will play a fundamental, proactive role in contributing to excellent learning!No mundo atual, o papel terapêutico da música encontra-se bem documentado, sendo objeto de estudo,vezes incontáveis. A música nasce da vida das batidas do coração, da respiração realizada pelos pulmões... sãodois exemplos dessa presença. Atualmente, enquanto recurso para fins terapêuticos, é frequentemente utilizadano trabalho com pessoas que apresentam diagnóstico da doença neurodegenerativa Alzheimer (Moreira et al,2018). Porém, a sua utilização não se cinge apenas ao âmbito em que exista alguna forma de lesão, patologia oudemência; sendo possível usá-la em diversos meios, como por exemplo: no incentivo à prática de uma atividadefísica regular, como também, no desenvolvimento educativo de alunos, entre outros. Analysis of the throws by the handball players of Atlético Petróleos de Luanda
No full textEl objetivo de esta investigación fue estudiar los lanzamientos de las jugadoras más destacadas del Atlético Petróleos de Luanda, uno de los equipos de balonmano femenino más importantes de Angola y de África. Empleando un diseño observacional nomotético, puntual y multidimensional, se diseñó un instrumento de observación ad hoc para registrar los lanzamientos realizados durante el ataque posicional por cuatro jugadoras en 12 partidos de la temporada 2018/19. El análisis de coordenadas polares permitió conocer los elementos del contexto de juego (sistema defensivo rival, puesto específico ocupado, sistemas ofensivos y medios tácticos grupales ofensivos empleados) que facilitaron o dificultaron la realización de lanzamientos, así como, los patrones de conducta en el momento del lanzamiento de las jugadoras analizadas, expresados en la localización, la trayectoria del balón y la distancia del lanzamiento. Los resultaros indicaron que los elementos del contexto de juego analizados ofrecieron distintas posibilidades de actuación para cada jugadora. También, se constató que los patrones de conducta de los lanzamientos fueron específicos para cada jugadora estudiada y que cambiaron según el puesto específico ocupado. Los hallazgos encontrados pueden servir para diseñar programas de entrenamiento que optimicen la capacidad de anticipación del portero.The aim of this research was to study the throws of the most prominent players from Atlético Petróleos de Luanda, one of the most important female handball teams in Angola and Africa. Using an observational, nomothetic, specific, and multidimensional technique design, an ad hoc observation tool was developed to record throws executed during positional attacks by four players in 12 matches of the 2018/19 season. Polar coordinates analysis allowed us to understand the elements of the game context (opposing defensive system, specific positions played, offensive systems, and employed group offensive tactics) that facilitated or hindered the execution of throws. Additionally, behavior patterns at the moment of the throw were examined for the analyzed players, including their location, ball trajectory, and throw distance. The results indicated that the analyzed elements of the game context provided different possibilities for action for each player. Furthermore, it was observed that behavior patterns for throws were specific to each studied player and changed according to the specific position played. The findings can be valuable in designing training programs to enhance the goalkeeper's anticipation ability.peerReviewe
Comics as essay: the work of Liv Strömquist in the reading and literary education
No full textA partir de una aproximación inicial al cómic de no ficción como tipo de historieta de cierta tradición, surgida en el contexto del comix o cómic underground de los 60 (y sus diferentes concreciones posteriores en el cómic periodístico, autobiográfico, etc.), asumimos la posible distinción teórica entre ensayo gráfico y cómic ensayístico, y presentamos en este artículo un estudio de las características esenciales de la obra en viñetas de la autora sueca Liv Strömquist como ensayo postmoderno y feminista; realizamos, además, una justificación curricular de su lectura en las aulas de secundaria y formulamos una propuesta didáctica basada en el análisis previo de la obra titulada La sala de los espejos, con el objetivo principal de estudiar las posibilidades formativas del cómic de no ficción, de tipología argumentativa, en el marco de la educación lectora y literaria en la actualidad.In this article, based on an initial approach to non-fiction comics as a type of comic with a certain tradition, emerged in the context of comix or underground comics (and its various genres in journalistic comics, autobiographical comics, etc.), we assume the theoretical distinction between graphic essay and essayistic comic, and we present a study of the essential characteristics of the works by the Swedish author Liv Strömquist as a postmodern and feminist kind of essay. Is the manager's gender a determining factor in tourism companies' commitment to Ict training?: A study of the destination of Extremadura (Spain)
No full textAn organisation’s ability to exploit information and communication technologies (ICTs) depends on the ICT training of its employees, which is conditioned by the strategies implemented by managers. These business strategies may be influenced by the manager’s gender. In this study, the manager’s gender is used as a factor to determine the level of commitment to ICT training of tourism managers in the Spanish region of Extremadura. The study also examines their satisfaction with the ICT training they have received, their preferences regarding training providers, and their perceptions regarding how well ICT knowledge supply meets demand in this region. Online questionnaire data from a sample of 238 tourist lodgings were collected. Inferential statistical analysis was applied. The results suggest that the values for the majority of the ICT training variables considered in this study do not differ between companies managed by men and women
