In education, inclusion implies understanding equity as equality of situations and opportunities for pupils both at the beginning and at the end of the education process according to their particularities. Such inclusion should be carried out in all existing curricular areas. Through Physical Education, different skills and values related to inclusion are developed, which can be worked on from a playful point of view through games and sports. Due to the importance of inclusion in the field of education, this study aimed to carry out a bibliometric review of the literature related to the terms "Inclusive education" and "Physical education", by searching for documents published up to 31 December 2022 in the Web of Science database. The results showed an exponential growth of 82% in the number of publications in the last 9 years, with Spain being the country with the highest number of citations and published documents due to its great longevity of research in the field of inclusive education, due to the different studies that have been carried out at the University of Castilla la Mancha. No full text
Over the past years there has been a growing interest in the topic of learning languages and Tourism. More recently, the increasing attention given by researchers to Language Tourism and its consequences for Tourism on the supply and demand sides has emphasized the idea that further studies in this area are necessary. This article aims to present and discuss the contributions of conceptual and empirical articles regarding Language Learning in Tourism, especially focusing on the Portuguese language. The article argues that Language Learning in Tourism could be divided into six themes, namely studies that analyse tourists/participants in Language Tourism, studies that analyse experiences, studies that analyse language learning for Tourism purposes, studies that analyse the learning of a foreign language, studies that analyse Language Tourism post-travel, and studies that analyse the offerings in Language Tourism. Findings indicate that opportunities for future research on Language Learning and Tourism are related to sustainability, relationships with local communities and participants, technologies, segmentation of tourists in specific market niches, post-experience, migration, and the role of the Portuguese language.

The Casa de la Moneda in Trujillo (Cáceres) was a Castillian Mint that applied countermarks and minted coins in fleece between the years 1641 and 1681, during the reigns of Felipe IV and his son Carlos II. Being largely unknown, it was the discovery, recording and analysis of a significant volume of documents preserved in the Archivo General de Simancas, as well as the Archivo Histórico Nacional among others that has allowed us to learn about all the productive and administrative aspects of this monetary workshop in Extremadura; the only one in this geographical area in the Modern Age. Located, as it was in the emerging province of Extremadura on the border with Portugal, in a process of secession at the time, its existence was conditioned by the Acclamation War (1640-1668) and by maintaining the frontier character, typical of the Portuguese-Spanish border. These features will determine the future of much of its fleece-coin production; the only type produced in this Mint. Originally, the main purpose of their bills of exchange was to provide financial aid to the Royal Army of Extremadura. However, over time, their primary goal turned into collaborating with the rest of the Castilian Mints in restoration of discredited fleece coins, which were greatly affected by repeated re-engraving and coexisted with a multitude of counterfeit pieces. In summary the Casa de la Moneda de Trujillo issued a considerable amount of currency in fleece pieces that invigorated the Extremadura territory in particular and Spain in general

Emotions and self-efficacy toward simple machines learning through a STEM practice

    No full text
Introduction: This study explores the impact of an interactive physics class on the emotions and self-efficacy of elementary education students, specifically in their future roles as educators using STEM-based pedagogical methods. The research aims to understand how such an approach affects students’ emotional responses and confidence in teaching STEM topics. Methods: The sample included 97 fourth-year prospective elementary teachers. Participants completed pretests and posttests measuring emotions and self-efficacy related to both course content and the pedagogical approach. Results: Findings indicated a significant increase in both positive emotions and self-efficacy following the interactive class. Male students reported higher levels of positive emotions and self-efficacy than their female peers. Furthermore, students with backgrounds in sciences and technology showed greater improvement compared to those from social science backgrounds. A positive correlation between emotions and self-efficacy was observed. Discussion: The manipulative, collaborative, and interdisciplinary nature of the physics class likely contributed to the observed positive changes in emotions and self-efficacy. Network analysis suggested that reducing boredom could enhance emotional responses, given its role in affecting both positive and negative emotions. On the other hand, it has been observed that uncertainty could be beneficial in STEM activities due to their relationship with self-efficacy.This work was funded through the Research Project PID2022-139684NB-I00 (AEI/FEDER, EU).peerReviewe

Problems of legal knowledge exemplified in criminal law

    No full text
In this classic paper, written more than 60 years ago, Armin KAUFMANN raises and develops the idea that jurisprudence, as a science, must seek to hermeneutically determine what is just, based on positive law, but with the unsurmountable limits of the logical-objective structures of regulated reality, which in the case of Criminal Law takes shape in respect for the final structure of the human action.peerReviewe

Assessment of background dose rate on non‑human biota in a Mediterranean terrestrial ecosystem

    No full text
The assessment of radiological impact to the environment is usually carried out by the dose rate estimation to hypothetical entities named Reference Animals and Plants (RAPs). There are many codes to carry out this assessment, which requires the definition of a scenario and using site-specific transfer parameters when possible. Transfer parameters present a geographical bias, as they are mostly derived from temperate and arctic climate datasets, but there is a scarcity of data for Mediterranean climates. In this study, a terrestrial Mediterranean scenario was defined using the distribution of activity concentrations of anthropogenic (90Sr, 137Cs) and naturally occurring radionuclides (40 K, 210Pb, 210Po, 226,228Ra, 235,238U, 232Th) in Cáceres province (Spain). Site-specific transfer factors, CRwo-media, defined as the ratio between the concentration in the whole organism and the medium (soil in this case) were considered. Dose rate assessments for terrestrial RAPs were carried out using Tier 3 in ERICA Tool, ranging 0.23–3.73 μGy/h which is below the screening level of 10 μGy/h. Therefore, no harmful effects are expected to occur. Internal dose rate predominates over external one because the main contributors are naturally occurring radionuclides (in most cases 40K, 226,228Ra, 210Pb, 210Po), which are mostly α-emitting radionuclides. These results can be used for the evaluation of other radiological and nuclear installations in Mediterranean climates, as they set the background dose rate.Open Access funding provided thanks to the CRUE-CSIC agreement with Springer Nature. PEM Electrolyzer Digital Replica based on internal resistance determination applied to hydrogen energy storage

    No full text
The rise of hydrogen as an energy storage means and its associated technologies have prompted the implementation of hydrogen generation systems based on electrolyzers. Electrolyzers exhibit complex behaviour and their implementation is not immediate, leading to the use of tools such as Digital Replicas (DR) for their study. This paper presents a DR for a Proton Exchange Membrane Electrolyzer (PEMEL) through the development of an Equivalent Circuit Model (ECM) that describes the static behaviour of the individual cells comprising it. This research is focused on contributing to hydrogen generation with the main objective of using this energy vector for energy storage applications. For this purpose, an installation consisting of a PEMEL and a set of auxiliary equipment required for its proper operation and for measuring key electrolyzer parameters such as current, voltage, hydrogen flow rate, temperature, etc. is implemented. Furthermore, a Data Acquisition System (DAQ) is available to collect process information for later analysis. The PEM cell model is obtained through an experimental process based on the determination of internal resistance to calculate the remaining key parameters. The successful functioning and suitability of the DR and developed model are reported through experimental data obtained from the PEMEL under operating conditions.Project co-financed by European Regional Development Funds FEDER and by the Junta de Extremadura (IB18041)peerReviewe

On the teaching of the democratic past in Spain. Students, polarisation and social media

    No full text
The aim of this text is to reflect on the teaching of democratic memory in Spain, focusing on history students, and encourage a debate on how to work on this important subject in the classroom to build and strengthen democracy. To achieve this, three different aspects are dealt with. Firstly, the analysis of the new legislation on democratic memory shows the opposing views on the republican period and the Civil War that have been observed in the parliamentary procedure of this law. Secondly, it connects the process of political polarization observed in Spain, as well as the relevance of these contradictory visions of the past in it, with the students’ previous conceptions in order to understand their reception in the teaching of history. This polarised context, as it is proposed, should be considered as an influential element in young people’s attitudes towards history. Thirdly, based on the importance of social networks today, these reflections are complemented by the study on the interpretation of the Paracuellos shootings in Madrid in the autumn of 1936, which appeared on the social network Twitter/X. The aim is to show what kind of discourses on the Spanish history young people may be receiving.
