An Ethereum Private Network for Data Management in Blockchain of Things Ecosystem
The advent of blockchain technology in the development and design of smart internet of things (IoT) systems offers the opportunity to secure and transfer data flow, preserve its integrity, and provide transparent mechanisms for its management. Blockchain has actually attracted applications in vital fields because it provides many advantages over centralized database such as traceability, confidentiality, availability and trust. A private network offers the most secure and peer-restricted environment for big data flow, specifically in IoT ecosystems. An integrated blockchain-IoT ecosystem in which three Raspberry Pi 4 nodes communicate and interact in a closed loop to control smart applications via an Ethereum platform in a secure and an efficiently emulated environment is piloted. The proposed blockchain of things (BCoT) ecosystem adds a new layer to the physical, network and application layers of a typical IoT architecture. The concept of a fully decentralized private Ethereum BCoT network may find applications in several fields that call for the removal of single-point of failure and ensures data integrity and transparency
The Role of Quizlet Learning Tool in Learners' Lexical Retention: A Quasi-Experimental Study
The integration of technologies into education, especially language learning, has become more prevalent in this information age. One of the widely used tools for supporting second language (L2) vocabulary acquisition is Quizlet. Despite its increased popularity, empirical research on the effectiveness of Quizlet in enhancing L2 learners' lexical retention is still limited. Furthermore, most works primarily used conventional statistical methods such as t-tests or ANOVA, which might generate errors of Type I and II. This study aims to fill in these gaps by examining the impact of Quizlet on the lexical gains of EFL students at a private institution in Vietnam. Fifty-nine undergraduates participated in the study and were separated into two groups. The control group (n=28) did not utilize Quizlet during the in-class lessons, while the experimental group (n=31) revised vocabulary using Quizlet on a weekly basis. During four weeks, the experimental group reviewed thirty-two target words, divided into four sets (one set including eight items). Each set was utilized for one week in class under the supervision of the teacher. The data from the pretest and posttest were analyzed using Generalized Linear Mixed Model to generate more reliable statistics. The results demonstrated that learners in the experimental group achieved significantly better scores than those in the control group. Therefore, it could be concluded that Quizlet should be implemented in the classroom as a review or practice activity on a regular basis
Running an Online Mathematics Examination with STACK
In this paper I discuss running an online examination with STACK for a year 1 "Introduction to Linear Algebra" course. The COVID pandemic has continued to disrupt teaching during 2021-22, and were are still not able to return to the examination hall for a traditional exam. Instead, our examinations were still "take home". Under these circumstances we wrote a fully automatically marked final test for the course. With over 800 students on the course in 2021-22, the paper-based examination was estimated to cost about 50 person-days to mark. Clearly, reducing this cost is an attractive prospect. However, important questions remain. To what extent can we write questions which cover the learning objectives of the course? How did the students do with the test? What recommendations can we offer for similar courses, and future years? In particular, do we need to return to the exam hall
Teaching Quality Evaluation of Engineering Cost Courses Based on Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process
The prosperous economic development and the investment and construction of several construction projects have substantially promoted the demands for talents in the engineering cost specialty. Nowadays the engineering cost specialty programs in many universities are faced with the strong applicability problem of specialized courses, and the teaching design for such specialized courses fails to meet the demands of the construction industry that enjoys high-speed development. A novel method to accurately evaluate the professional courses on the basis of the fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) was proposed in this study. The weights of course evaluation indexes were determined by the FAHP, thus realizing the quantitative evaluation of course teaching quality. This study combined the teaching reform practice in analyzing the special characteristics of the engineering cost course. Based on the theory of outcomes-based education and multiple evaluation approaches, it established a closed-loop model for the progressive development of teaching management and expounded the evolutionary process and driving pattern of course teaching evaluation. Results demonstrate that an evaluation index system consisting of 22 evaluation indexes in 5 dimensions is suitable for the course, the teaching quality ratings can be quantified by this method, such as 81.43 points, and they can provide a certain reference for the course construction and teaching quality evaluation of this specialty. The proposed method provides a good prospect to optimize the teaching quality evaluation in the professional curriculums
A Training Program According to Interactive Teaching Strategies and its Impact on Achievement and Creative Problem Solving for Fourth-Grade Preparatory Students in Chemistry
The aim of the research is to know the effect of a training program based on interactive teaching strategies on achievement and creative problem solving among fourth-grade students in chemistry of the directorate of education Rusafa first, the sample was divided into two groups, one experimental and numbering (29) students and the other control group numbering (30) students. The experimental group underwent the training program in the first semester of the year (2021-2022) and the control one studied according to the usual method. Two tools were built, the first being an academic achievement test consisting of (40) multiple-choice items, and the second a test of creative problem-solving skills in a chemistry subject and consisting of (10) essay questions. The results, using the t-test for two independent samples, showed that there was a statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) in favor of the average scores of the students who were applied to the training program which based on interactive teaching strategies
Clustering Analysis of Online Teaching Cases and Evaluation of Teaching Results
To facilitate front-line teachers to provide more efficient cases for classroom teaching activities in limited teaching time, it is necessary to conduct clustering analysis of online teaching cases. The existing clustering study on text-based teaching resources focuses on the representation and fusion of different views of texts and the discovery of consistent clustering allocation, and ignores the high-dimensional sparsity of text data. To this end, this paper studies clustering analysis of online teaching cases and evaluation of teaching results. This paper gives the design flow of online teaching with case teaching as the core and proposes a text multi-view clustering algorithm based on case subject alignment, and presents a clustering model structure based on subject alignment. Based on the grey system theory, this paper compares online classroom teaching results before and after teachers use clustering algorithm to process teaching cases. Finally, the experimental setup is given, and the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is verified by experiment
Assessment of Quality of the Electronic Education System in the Corona Crisis Period: Applied Study on Al al-Bayt University
In response to the coronavirus crisis, higher education institutions have partially or fully transformed into electronic education systems (EESs). This paper presents the results of a student survey conducted at AL al-Bayt University to assess the quality of the electronic educational system (EES) during the coronavirus pandemic. The study variables addressed by the questionnaire were tangible physical features (TPFs), flexibility (FEES), examination construction and management (ECM); admission, storage, and registration management (ASRM), security and privacy (S&P), learning site content (LSC); and students’ level of satisfaction (LoS). The exploratory study methodology was applied to 324 students at AABU, where the research data were collected using a Google Docs questionnaire and distributed to students. The results highlighted that students were satisfied with the quality of EES implemented by AABU during the lockdown period in terms of tangible physical features (TPF) and learning site content (LSC) and there was a statistically significant relationship between TPF and LSC. However, some undesirable features were reported, such as a lack of adequate infrastructure for students, which enabled them to interact effectively with their teachers to gain the target of applying EES. Consequently, AABU needs to implement effective measures to improve and increase the quality and level of satisfaction with EES. Finally, electronic education is a more adapted, smooth, and affordable alternative than traditional face-to-face education
Survey Analysis of Students and Teachers' Perceptions of E-Learning and M-Learning in Morocco
New technology, such as mobile phones and smart devices, has sparked the creation of new methods of learning. They are integrated into modern e-learning systems due to their rising popularity. E-learning and mobile learning provide students with more options for learning without any limitations. Today, many students are adapted to these new technologies as long as they have inherited a naturally tech-savy mindset. We use survey data to explore students and teachers’ interest in e-learning and mobile learning. This survey will help us discover the real value of these subjects in Moroccan higher education. Once we have collected our survey responses, we will be able to determine whether our study has had an impact on the students and teachers par- ticipation in these new forms of learning. At the end of the topic, all the answers and the statistics (quantitative and qualitative) that we have collected from our students and teachers’ opinions about this study will be shown, analyzed, and discussed
Enhance Mobile Phone Digital Camera Images Using Band Reject Filter and Discrete Fourier Transform
These days, We know that mobile phones with camera are very common to used by most of the people because of their ease of use and carry . So I figured I need for mobile phone images processing. These images are often subjected to a variety of types of distortion, such as noise, poor illumination, and blur due to transmission , image acquisition and mobile movement during capturing scene. This Degradation leads to produce distorted images are not suitable for viewing or application. To overcome this degradation, this paper presents image improvement in mobile phone by distortion removal using Band Reject Filter and DFT to obtain on the best clear image. Periodic noise is sinusoidal of several of certain frequencies and periodic in nature. It looks identical to the bars that the image is covered. The proposed method is subjected to eliminate this noise from a set of images using Band Reject Filter using discrete Fourier transform that attenuate and replace a number of degradation bands. Then, computes the peak signal to noise ratio metric for each band. After that, select the largest value of each band for the purpose the making one clear image. Finally, the bands that carry value large are merged to produce a one image. The final image is converted to the spatial domain using an inverse Fourier transform. The experimental outcomes indicate that the proposed method improves the degraded image by a greater percentage without using the better value for metric and makes image more clear and informative compare with the input image
Divergence Based Feature Selection for Pattern Recognizing of the Performance of Intrusion Detection in Mobile Communications Merged with the Computer Communication Networks
The Feature Selection concept is the procedure where in the data is simplified removing the irrelevant features. Divergence method is another strategy of method where in the relation among the attributes and class is measured to understand their contribution to performance. Nowadays the mobile network is integrated with the other networks like the computer networks transmitting all kinds of data leading to attacks in networks known as intrusion in computer networks equally applicable to mobile communications. So in this paper the intrusion detection method involving the other other mode of communication is considered in mobile interaction network. The proposed algorithm performs feature selection using the divergence evaluation method to reduce the feature set. A 10% KDDCUP99 data set was used for the evaluation of the proposed algorithm, and performance metrics were evaluated using the C4.5 classifier. The metrics TPR, FPR and consistency were compared with the mutual information based DMIFSA, RMIFSA, MMIFSA methods and the proposed method is implemented on Python 3.8 that proved to achieve the high accuracy of 99.94% as compared to other methods and also reduce the redundant features. The consistency in Accuracy is maintained almost from 4 features to 10 features in proposed method as compared to other methods that indicates the stability of the system is achieved
