The differentiated instructional strategy has been widely applied in countries around the world. However, the differentiated instruction of the design courses for engineering majors still has some barriers in term of learners, teachers, and attributes of the design courses in the smart education environment. To discuss the influences of the differentiated instructional strategy of the design courses for engineering majors on course achievement of learners in the smart education environment, a case study based on the course of “Architectural Interior Hand-painted Renderings” was conducted using two-group pre-test and post-test methods. The differentiated instructional strategy for this course in the smart education environment was designed to investigate its actual effect toward improving the learners’ course achievement, as well as its staged efficiency in preview, classroom learning, and creating learning through the student’s t-test from perspectives of its influence significance and staged efficiency. Results show that compared with traditional instructional strategy, differentiated instructional strategy can improve course achievement of learners significantly. During classroom learning, learners from the differentiated instruction class achieve significant improvements in term of “picture composition”, “line drawing”, “perspective drawing” and “color construction” compared with those during the preview. Learners further achieve significant improvements in terms of “picture composition,” “line drawing,” “perspective drawing,” and “creativity” during creating learning compared with those during classroom learning. Differentiated instruction has significant influences on improvement of the learners’ course achievement at different levels. This study provides method references to differentiated instruction design for engineering majors in smart education environment and offers a way to fulfill personalized needs of differential learners and improve teaching efficiency

    Get PDF
The key of university experimental teaching is to help students gradually perfect from knowledge learning to improvement of actual operational ability through experiments in the teaching and learning process. University experimental teaching is conducive for promoting innovative thinking and ability of practice of university students, and it plays an important role in the entire talent training system. Establishing scientific and reasonable evaluation methods and reflecting shortages in practical experimental teaching are not only keys of evaluation but also important guarantee to improve university experimental teaching quality. In this study, an evaluation index system of experimental teaching quality was constructed by combining analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS). Weights of indexes were determined. Moreover, a case study based on a comprehensive evaluation of experimental teaching quality of Construction Engineering CAD for civil engineering majors of undergraduates was performed. Results demonstrated that Level 2 indexes about teachers’ good preparation of lessons and complete and standard teaching documents (X-1-3), as well as students’ active thinking and positive participation in classroom learning (X-3-2), had the highest weight. Students’ evaluation ranking results provided quantitative references to more scientific evaluation of experimental teaching. The comprehensive evaluation of experimental teaching quality using AHP-TOPSIS technique solves the mutual dependence and feedback relationship among evaluation indexes effectively, and avoids influences of subjectivity and one-sidedness of artificial weighting. Research conclusions can provide important references to optimize experimental teaching process, train the innovation ability of students, increase the comprehensive quality of students, and deepen reform in experimental teaching

    What Does Digital Learning Teach?

    Get PDF
Digital learning does not determine its strategic benchmarks independently since it always represents only a training system component. Consequently, its goals and objectives cannot be understood without a preliminary understanding of the purposes and objectives put forward by the training system a part of which it forms. The issue of identifying this purpose as a person being a cognitive activity subject or a person being a bearer of a certain number of skills requires clarification. The digital learning concept will always contain a positive ("correct") or negative ("incorrect") answer to this question in the "default" status, as prescribed by the training system. And it will serve as an auxiliary tool only in promoting (and approving) different concepts of human capacity as a "correct" one

The demand for better intrusion detection and prevention solutions has elevated due to the current global uptick in hacking and computer network attacks. The Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is essential for spotting network attacks and anomalies, which have increased in size and scope. A detection system has become an effective security method that monitors and investigates security in cloud computing. However, several existing methods have faced issues such as low classification accuracy, high false positive rates, and low true positive rates. To solve these problems, a detection system based on Support Vector Machine (SVM) is proposed in this paper. In this method, the SVM classifier is utilized for network data classification into normal and abnormal behaviors. The Cloud Intrusion Detection Dataset is used to test the effectiveness of the suggested system. The experimental results show which the suggested system can detect abnormal behaviors with high accuracy
