    No full text
The current study explains the relationship between Positive psychological capital and Entrepreneurial hustle and further explains the moderation role of Information network centrality on the relationship between Positive psychological capital and Entrepreneurial hustle through mindset theory. A Survey technique was used for the collection of required data. Questionnaires were collected from 185 entrepreneurs surveying in Quetta and proposed relationships were analyzed through SMART-PLS structural equation modeling software because it is the second generation technique of multivariate data analysis. This study found a significant positive relationship between Positive psychological capital (Hope, self-efficacy, resilience, optimism) and Entrepreneurial hustle. The results also revealed that Information network centrality as a moderator strengthens the relationship between Positive psychological capital and Entrepreneurial hustle. The role of independent and dependent variables was assigned to the construct through mindset theory. Positive psychological capital, Entrepreneurial hustle, and Information network centrality, all three multidisciplinary constructs are relatively new and no previous research discusses the relationship between these threeconstructs. This is the first study that discusses the relationship between these constructs. This study addresses a gap by creating an understanding of entrepreneurial actions in the context of uncertainty. Keywords - Positive psychological capital, Entrepreneurial hustle, Information network centralit

Green human resource management practices and sustainability have recently attained increased attention both in academia as well as practitioners worldwide. This paper endeavours to investigate the effect of green human resource management activities on the sustainable competitive advantage of green-office certified companies of Pakistan. The study capitalizes on the resource-based view theory which provides the basis to achieve sustainable competitiveness. The study adopted a quota sampling technique, whereby 634 managerial staff in different levels of management structure was the targeted sample surveyed across Pakistan. Descriptive analysis was carried out by using SPSS 20 whereas inferential statistical analysis was conducted by applying Smart PLS Software 3 which is a variance-based structural equation modelling approach. The results of the study showed that green recruitment and selection, green training and development, and green performance management have a direct positive and significant association with a sustainable competitive advantage. The current study is restricted to green-certified companies across Pakistan. As green-certified companies display sober attitudes and readiness regarding the GHRM practices in their premises, it is suggested to the practitioners and managers that they ensure the GHRM practices in their routine business activities to get sustainable competitiveness. The scope of the current study is limited to greencertified companies across Pakistan so the future researcher may study it comparatively between green and non-green certified companies in Pakista

    No full text
The purpose of the study is to explore the mediated role of intellectual capital between high-performance work systems (HPWS) and their impacts on the organizational performance (OP), through moderation of absorptive capacity of knowledge in the petroleum sector of Pakistan. The study explores how petroleum companies in Pakistan are managing their intellectual capital (IC) through HPWS.  A quantitative research methodology from 215 managers is taken by employing Smart PLS software has been applied to test the theoretical model and hypothetical assumptions. It has been found that IC strongly mediates the HPWS performance relationship while the potential absorptive capacity of knowledge played a moderating role while realized absorptive capacity has been found no moderating role. The study recommends the petroleum sector develop HPWS practices keeping in view the role of intellectual capital to enhance organizational performance. The proposed theoretical model can open an avenue for future researchers to implement the same model in other sectors through comparative analysis to reveal the significance of HPWS and IC

Impact of project portfolio management on the portfolio’s success with a mediating role of team innovative behaviour in the construction industry of Pakistan

    No full text
Project portfolio management is a significant task in management because this decision-making practice governs project selection and it should be undertaken based on the strategic priorities of the organization and how the resources are assigned within it. This research paper draws upon the existing literature on the management of project portfolios that enables the team's innovative behaviour to provide novel solutions to achieve a successful project portfolio. The original conceptualization was tested on the data collected from 253 project portfolio managers, to reveal the hypothesized relationships among project portfolio management, team innovative behaviour and project portfolio success. The statistical analysis showed that various aspects of project portfolio management affect the innovative behaviour of teams that eventually contributes to the success of the project portfolio. Empirical validation of management practices as a source of empowerment of project portfolio teams’ innovative behaviour is a new finding in the context of the construction industry which has strong implications for both theory and practice

    No full text
This study identifies some missing elements of organizational justice (OJ), incorporate those in existing scaleto test their content validity. The questions for this scale were created by strictly following the patterns of existing scales. We assume that eminent researchers would agree with incorporation of missing relevant items in their respective OJ dimensions. To test this assumption, we have used purposive sampling technique.A specific questionnaire was designed, which include a brief note regarding missing theories and our proposed questionswereshared with eminent researchers to seek their expert opinion. One sample t-test was used to evaluate eminent researchers’ opinion. Majority of eminent researchersagreed with our proposed questions (our proposed additions), hence, our claim regarding relevant missing theories has been substantiated. This research recommends that as experts agree with our proposed additions, therefore missing theories may not only be considered for future research but also incorporated in OJ scale to further validate their contributions. Keywords:justice dimensions, justice theories, missing theories of justice, overall justice

    No full text
This research aims to quantitatively examine the relationship between sustainability practices and organization performance through a mediating variable i.e., environmental performance. The domain of the study was the banking industry of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of  Pakistan. Data was collected from 250 employees using a 5-point Likert scale adapted for the study. Convenient sampling was used to induct the sample. A total of 191 valid responses were received from the selected respondents. Cronbach’s alpha and exploratory factor analysis were used to check the reliability and validity of constructs, while the causal relationship among variables was tested using regression and mediation analysis. It is concluded that both the sustainability practices, i.e. sustainable exploration (SEXP) and sustainable exploitation (SEXPL), significantly affect organizational performance (OP). Moreover, the mediating role of environmental performance on the interrelationship between sustainability practices (SEXP, SEXPL) and the performance of these banks was confirmed.             It is recommended that organizations should implement sustainability practices (SEXP, SEXPL) to enhance their performance. The relationship of sustainability practices with organizational performance in the banking sector of a developing country like Pakistan is a novelty contributing to the literature on sustainability practices

Abstract The slow growth of Islamic banking in Pakistan is due to the lack of the government’s unsupportive environment and the defection of Islamic banks’ social and ethical proclaims (Zafar & Sulaiman, 2020). This study is conducted to analyze and compare the financial performance of selected Islamic banks in Pakistan. Secondary data from 2015 to 2019 were selected to conduct this study. To assess data normality, the Q-Q Plots method was applied. Q-Q plots recommend that most of the ratios are consistent and indicate normality. ANOVA illustrates that there is no significant variation in the performance of the selected banks in terms of profitability, liquidity, and activity ratios. However, there is a significant difference in return on equity ratio in the selected banks. This means that all of the selected Islamic banks are getting a different return on the capital invested. Despite the problems face by Islamic banks that the author has discovered in the literature, this significance is a positive sign of development in Islamic banking. Further, the least significant difference (LSD) was applied to the insignificant results of the ANOVA to check which pairs are significant or insignificant. Islamic banks should minimize their administrative expenses and promote banking activities, in turn, a drastic increase in operating profit and net operating profit would be. However, Shari’ah governance deficiencies, like inexperienced employees, lack of research in Islamic finance, and bad situation of internal Shari’ah review found (Alnofli & Ali, 2019). Stock market is an index of a country financial performance. Evaluating stock markets and predicting their performance using machine learning algorithms is mostly preferred in finance these days. We use stock market data of Pakistan Stock Exchange and Dhaka Stock exchange applying numerous machine learning algorithms i.e. Smoothing Spline Algorithm, Group Mean Data Handling, Neural Net Work Auto Regression and Support Vector Machine to predict the stock market performance and to highlight the forecasting accuracy of these models. We collect data of stock market indices form the first week of July 2011 to the last week closing indices on March 2022. Our study findings confirm that in case of Pakistan the Smoothing Spline Algorithm has better predicting accuracy as compared to the other counterpart machine learning algorithms on the basis of all three error matrices while in case of Bangladesh the Support Vector Machine is preferred model. The results are very meaningful for the investors in these stock exchanges
