    Get PDF

    Get PDF

The adoption of more efficient management practices, such asrecognizing the adequate level of P availability (Olsen) in the soil, canresult in improved production efficiency in the carrot (Daucus carota L.)cropping system. Complementarily, knowing the behavior of radiationuse efficiency (EUR) is relevant in the optimization of resources (Pfertilizer and radiation), due to the continuous concern forenvironmental impact and for the reduction of production costs. Theobjective of this work was to evaluate the EUR performance of twocommercial carrot cultivars, across five levels of P-Olsen availability, under field conditions (13, 16, 19, 24, 28 ppm). The experiment wasestablished at the Santa Rosa Experimental Station (39º47\u27S; 73º14\u27W),belonging to the Universidad Austral de Chile (UACh) located in the cityof Valdivia in the Los Ríos Region, during the 2010-2011 growing season.EUR (g DM MJ-1) was calculated using photosynthetically active radiation(RIFA) and biomass (aerial and total). In this study, EUR of D. carotacultivars was not influenced by soil P-Olsen availability (p>0.05), butdifferences (p<0.01) were found in photosynthetically active radiationintercepted (RIFA) and specific leaf area

Poultry farming is part of the productive chain of corn, soybeansand balanced, which is one of the most important within theEcuadorian agricultural sector. Ecuadorian poultry farming hasincreased its production in recent years, unlike other types ofmeat production. The objective of the present investigationwas to determine the effect of the addition of noni (Morindacitrofolia L.) foliage levels on the productive performance ofBroiler chickens. The work was carried out in the "Cañales"Campus of the Mocache Canton, Los Ríos province. 160 BroilerCobb 500 chickens were used, distributed in a completelyrandomized design with 4 treatments, 5 repetitions each, with8 animals as the experimental unit. The evaluated treatmentsare T1 (Control; Commercial Balanced); T2, T3 and T4 (0.5, 1 and1.5% respectively of Noni foliage flour). No statisticaldifferences were found in relation to the productiveparameters between the means of Tukey treatments (P≤0.05),however in the cost-benefit relation, 0.5% of Noni foliagepresented the best value (1.27),whichmeansthatforeverydollarinvested,aprofitof0.27centswasobtained,withaprofitabilityof27.49 1.27), which means that for everydollar invested, a profit of 0.27 cents was obtained, with aprofitability of 27.49% and a mortality of 2.5%. While thecontrol treatment obtained a value of 1.12; a profitability of11.71% and a mortality of 5%

The objective of this research project was to analyze the effects of theapplication of pregerminative stimulants and different types ofsubstrates in the germination of Gmelina arborea, in the nursery stage. For the application of the project, 3.5 pounds of melina seeds werepurchased to which the respective pregerminative treatment wasapplied, prior to the sowing of the same ones, establishing a total of1,440 seeds in 36 tubes of 40 seeds per tube. With three repetitions, three pregerminative treatments were used (nitric acid and distilledwater, hot water and cold water) on G. arborea Robx seeds, with threecombined substrates (orchard soil + sand, common soil + UTEQ fertilizer, common soil + rice husk), plus the control to which no treatment wasapplied, since it served as a control, but it was sown on combinedsubstrates. After two weeks of germination data collection, the growthvariables were measured during 8 weeks of height, number of leaves, stem diameter, length and width of the leaf and length of the root, thelatter only once. The work was carried out in the experimental farm "LaRepresa" owned by the State Technical University of Quevedo. Thepregerminative treatments applied to Gmelina arborea Robx seeds, varied in differences on germination between treatments, in addition tothe different combined substrates in which it was put to germinate, differences were evidenced in how many growth variables. Giving us asresults several similarities between treatments and substrates

The area planted with Gmelina arborea (melina) in Ecuador hasincreased in the last decade, currently this forest species is affectedby the disease "vascular wilt and stem rot", which is killing thousandsof trees in the country. Ceratocystis fimbriata is listed as the causativeagent of the disease, However, the complex symptoms and thefrequent isolation of Fusarium spp. from diseased trees, make ussuspect that this phytopathogen is involved in the pathogenesis ofmelina. Koch\u27s Postulates were applied at the greenhouse level, andfor the effect, 5 treatments based on the inoculation of 17 G. arboreaplants of 4-month-old per treatment were plated. T1 = Fusarium sp.1,T2 = Fusarium sp.2, T3 = Fusarium sp.3, T4 = Fusarium sp.4, and T5 =agar-agar (control). A complete randomized design (CRD) was usedand the plants were evaluated 155 days after inoculation. Thetreatments Fusarium sp.1 and Fusarium sp.2 caused the largestapparent volumes of necrosis (2.31 cm3 and 2.43 cm3), and generatedmild symptoms of disease, however they did not die, so these resultscannot be considered conclusive yet. It is necessary to continueinvestigating the role of Fusarium spp. in the pathogenesis of melina

2020 was a different year, complicated and of constant uncertainty. This has also affected the child population. Therefore, the aim of the study was to determine the relationship between daily stress and emotional intelligence of elementary school students. The type of study used was descriptive correlational and the design was non-experimental - transversal. The sample consisted of 166 students of both sexes, from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade of elementary school in a public school, for which a non-probabilistic sampling was used. The instruments used for data collection were: the Daily Stress Inventory for the first variable and the Bar ON ICE - NA Emotional Intelligence Inventory for the second variable. The results indicated that there is a negative relationship of 0.412 (rs = 0.412, p < 0.05) between both variables, validating the proposed hypothesis. It was concluded that daily stress is inversely related to the development of emotional intelligence, and that the dimensions of emotional intelligence should be worked on to reduce stress levels
