    Symbolic characters and class struggles in Ngugi’s wa Thiongo’s Petals of Blood

    Purpose: Every piece of art must, without a doubt, make a statement about itself. This is due to the fact that the more attractive something is, the more symbolic it becomes. Almost all works of art have multiple interpretations. Every great work of literature contains symbols, which add depth, meaning, strength, and dexterity to the work. Research methodology: Two theoretical frameworks, postcolonial and Marxist literary theories, guided the analysis. And this is a qualitative study. Results: The results of this investigation demonstrate that colonial injustice and unmodified colonial institutions and policies are the most enduring issue of Ngugi Wa Thiong’o’s literary exploitation. Limitations: The study is limited to one novel and which is Petals of Blood of Ngugi Wa Thiong’o, written after the post-independence of Kenya. Contribution: Finally, the study found that people are aware of their rulers' actions and are plotting a revolt to break free from the elite's grasp. And it proposes viable answers to their political and socioeconomic problems, such as revolution, not just in Kenya but throughout Africa

    The existence of single parents who have careers

    Purpose: This research is aimed at exploring the existence of single parents who had previously been housewives. Single parents in facing difficulties in working and being successful with their careers and prove their existence with their career and performing their role as a single parent. Research methodology: This research used a qualitative research method with a phenomenological approach. The selection of participants was done by the purposive sampling technique. Data collection methods are interviews, observation, and documentation. Data were analysed data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verifying. Results:  There are several other factors outside of the structure of existence that they have experienced, including educational factors, religious devotion, and motivation to arise their children that make them survive. Limitation: This research is only focused on the qualitative. Future researchers may consider conducting mixed methods. Contribution: Understanding the structure of existence finding answers to the single mothers who left by their husbands due to death or divorced. Feeling helpless, losing confidence, unstable economy and overcoming these circumstances, shows their existence through career stability

    Potential loss of business services levy receipts in the Marine and Fisheries Office of East Nusa Tenggara Province

    Purpose: The purpose of this research was to identify the potential loss of business service levies received by the Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Research Methodology: This study used a qualitative approach and power analysis using spiral data analysis techniques. The informants consisted of 33 people. Data collection was carried out by qualitative observation, qualitative interviews, qualitative document tracing, and qualitative audio-visual material. Results: There was a potential loss from receiving business service levies at the Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Limitations: This research focused on identifying the potential loss of business service levy at the Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Contribution: This research can be a scientific source and can be the basis for the Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of East Nusa Tenggara Province in overcoming the potential lost problem. Furthermore, this research can be scientific information for public administration students

    Mutations of position and performance of local government public officers: An experimental study

    Purpose: The purpose of this research is to evaluate the ambiguity and conflict characteristics of role stress variables capable of mediating a job transfer and official performance. Research methodology: This experimental research was conducted to obtain a causal relationship between the respondents in Lampung, Way Kanan Regency, and analyzed using the Anova method. Results: The results showed that officials' performance was significantly higher when experiencing low ambiguity, according to role and contingency theories. Furthermore, both attributes were lower when officials received high-frequency and did not mediate the relationship between job transfer and performance. Limitations: This research is limited to paper and pencil, which prevents participants from feeling the real situation. Contribution: This research implies that job transfers can be conducted according to the needs and conditions of the local government

    Does Innovation Play a Role in the Relationship Between Corporate Social and Financial Performance? A Systematic Literature Review

    Purpose: This research aims to provide a comprehensive knowledge map of the intellectual structure of the field of study on the role of innovation in shaping the social and financial performance link. Research methodology: Systematic literature review using the SALSA (Search, Appraisal, Synthesis, and Analysis) Method based on a 10-year data set (2012-2021) from the “Google Scholar” database. Results: The findings point to the existence of a positive influence of innovation in linking Corporate Social Performance to firm Financial Performance and reveal the existence of five themes in the research, specifically complementarity between Corporate Social Responsibility and innovation, the special case of small and medium-sized enterprises, and the context of emerging countries. Also, we highlight a lack of research in this field and the theoretical, design, and methodological limitations of previous studies. Limitations: The primary limitation of this study is the small number of studies that address the research question addressed by this systematic literature review, which was generated by the research protocol. Contribution: The study suggests avenues for future research to address the previous shortcomings. Particularly, identifying the condition effects through which innovation may affect the studied relationship

    Investigating the relationship between knowledge management and social capital

    Purpose: The purpose of this study is to establish the relationship between knowledge management and social capital in education from the perspective of human resource managers of Tehran industrial companies. Research methodology: A knowledge management questionnaire and social capital questionnaire were used to collect data. The reliability of the questionnaires was 0.909 and 0.912 by Cronbach's alpha method, respectively. Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests, regression, and Pearson coefficient were used to analyse the data. Results: The results show that there is a significant relationship between social trust and knowledge management, also there is a significant relationship between networks and knowledge management; In addition to the above, it was shown that there is a significant relationship between cooperation and knowledge management and between relationships and knowledge management. Limitations: The practical and usable environment for the results of this study is the educational environment. Contribution: Our research can be very useful for researchers in this field due to the accuracy we had in doing the work and using its results in the educational environment and industrial companies

    Antecedents for Creating Loyal Relationship with Retailers: A Study on the Pharmaceutical Industry of Bangladesh

    Purpose: The study looked at a variety of factors that go into building a loyal relationship between a company and its retailers in Bangladesh's pharmaceutical industry. Research methodology: Ten (10) hypotheses were established based on the literature review. Furthermore, the convenience sampling technique was used to choose the samples. Data were collected from 50 different retailers. In addition, the loyalty-building aspects were assessed using the questionnaire established through an exploratory study. The data were analyzed with SPSS 22.0with the aid of Microsoft excel. Results: Nine out of ten variables were favorably connected with creating a loyal relationship with pharmaceutical retailers, according to the findings of the study. Limitations: This study focused only on Dhaka and Cumilla cities of Bangladesh. Contribution: The conclusion of the study is crucial and the outcome will have a long-term impact on how pharmaceutical companies use various types of tactics in loyalty-building programs with retailers

    Agro-Tourist Satisfaction in Sri Lanka: With Special Reference to Tourist Socio-Demographic and Destination Characteristics

    Purpose: The purpose of the study was to examine what factors are determining the level of satisfaction in agro-tourists and define the possible ways and means to enhance their satisfaction levels in promoting agro-tourism in Sri Lanka. There are four specific objectives in the study; to examine the current situation of the ago-tourism industry in Sri Lanka, to study the agro-tourism destination characteristics and socio-demographic characteristics of tourists, to analyze the relationship between the level of satisfaction, agro-tourism destination characteristics and socio-demographic characteristics of agro-tourist, and to discuss possible policy measures and management strategies to enhance tourist satisfaction and positive experience for agro-tourists in Sri Lanka. Research Methodology: This research utilized both qualitative and quantitative data collection methods. The gathered data were analyzed using five instruments; reliability test, inferential analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, regression analysis, and Kruskal Wallis test. Results: Ten possible policy measures and management strategies to enhance tourist satisfaction and positive experience for agro-tourists in Sri Lanka. Limitation: This research is limited to investigating the factors that affect the tourist satisfaction of agro-tourists. The scope focused on three areas, destination, tourist, and travel characteristics. The study focused on foreign tourists who have already visited Sri Lanka and been to agro-tourism sites. Contribution: This study is based on one such tourism concept which promotes in agricultural societies. The agro-tourism in Sri Lanka is identified as an important aspect of gaining the benefits of tourism. The satisfaction of the tourist must be ensured in the tourism industry for the long-term benefit of the business. The study contributes by suggesting actions and projects for agro-tourism satisfaction

    The Influence of Whistleblowing System and Internal Control on Fraud Prevention at PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) Bandung City

    Purpose:  This study aims to determine how the influence of the whistleblowing system and internal controls on fraud prevention at Pos Indonesia (Persero) Bandung City. Research Methodology: The research method used in this research is descriptive and verification methods. The sampling technique used in this study is a non-probability sampling technique with a saturated sampling technique so that the total sample size is 30 people. The analytical method used in this research is multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 25. Results: The results showed that the whistleblowing system and internal controls had an effect on fraud prevention. The amount of influence of internal control in contributing to fraud prevention is 66.2%. Limitations: This research is limited only to PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) because it still shows cases of fraud. In addition, this study only focuses on knowing the effect of the whistleblowing system and internal controls on fraud prevention at PT Pos Indonesia (Persero) Bandung City. Contributions: This research is expected to provide benefits for companies that lead to improvements in preventing fraud, and can be used as additional information for the parties concerned

    Going Green: How Consumption Values Lead to Green Consumption Behavior in Z Generation

    Purpose: Consumption of plastic, especially single-use ones, is seen today as one of the leading environmental problems since it is used for a very short time and takes hundreds of years to decompose. At the same time, there has been a growing awareness to consume environmentally friendly products and minimize the use of plastic. Similar research has been conducted but in a limited amount in the Z generation context. This study aimed to identify the correlation between green consumption values and green consumption behavior in the Z generation. Research methodology: The variables in this study were measured using the GREEN scale and the ECCB scale. The collected data was analyzed by using correlational methods. The two-stage cluster-random sampling technique was used, and 202 respondents participated in this study. Results: The results showed that there is a significant positive correlation between green consumption value and green consumption behavior at a moderate level. Five indicators of green consumption behavior correlate to green consumption value (recycled products, biodegradability, driving habits/oil dependency, consumer purchase, and reduction in electricity). Limitations: Limitations related to this study were also discussed as its opportunity for further research. Contribution: These findings will empower people to understand how our value will create green consumption behavior, and it will derive following sustainable buying behavior
