Factors’ influence of E-WOM on travel intentions of tourists: A study on tourist places located in Bangladesh
Purpose: This study aimed to determine the effects of electronic word-of-mouth (e-WOM) on tourists’ travel intentions.
Research Methodology: The researchers collected 302 data points using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire. For this study, a descriptive research technique or methodology was used based on quantitative data. The sampling method was a non-probabilistic convenience sampling method. The SPSS 26.0 version was used for descriptive statistics analysis, reliability testing, and regression analysis.
Results: Four independent variables out of five (positive online reviews, negative online reviews, source credibility, and e-WOM quality) had a favorable impact on travelers' plans to travel. Only one variable (e-WOM quality) had no favorable results.
Limitations: The study's use of a non-probability convenience sampling strategy was constrained to a certain limited geographic area. There were also issues related to time and money in this investigation.
Contribution: This research will help travel organizations understand and acknowledge e-WOM and its significance, as well as develop strategies to manage its effects. In addition, it will help tourists select their tour destinations.
Novelty: This study addresses the impact of e-WOM on tourist decision making and explains the complex factors that affect tourists’ decisions to visit a tourist place
A comparative analysis before and after pandemic on environmental accounting public hospital
Purpose: This study conducted a comparative analysis of the application of environmental accounting in hospitals before, during, and after the pandemic.
Research methodology: This qualitative study used a comparative analytical approach. The data used in the research are primary data from interviews with three informants directly involved and secondary data from relevant financial information at the Regional Public Hospital. Mohamad Soewandhie, Surabaya.
Results: The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted hospital environmental accounting. Hospitals commonly charge environmental costs for managing solid, liquid, and gaseous waste. The pandemic has increased hospital waste processing expenditure for these three classes. The growth in hospital waste and vendor waste processing costs due to increased demand, since hospitals cannot yet process their waste, are the main causes of the cost increase. Once the outbreak ended, hospitals could control the costs.
Limitations: Financial data from the hospital was simply an illustration because it had to be integrated with the Surabaya City Government's financial reports and was not published.
Contribution: It can be seen that it is important for hospitals to be able to budget environmental costs more seriously as a preventive measure if similar problems like the pandemic or other forces significantly occur in the future.
Novelty: Previous similar research only studied how environmental accounting is implemented in a hospital and did not compare its implementation before, during, and after the pandemic
Collaborative/competitive learning styles and students’ academic performance in cost accounting in federal universities in South-south, Nigeria
Purpose: This study investigates the correlation between learning styles and students' academic achievement in the field of cost accounting among federal universities located in the south-south region of Nigeria.
Research methodology: This study analyzed 556 final-year business education students from four federal universities in south-south Nigeria (source). The sample consisted of 248 students, selected using cluster sampling (source). The primary data were obtained using a questionnaire (source). The statistical method used was the Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC) to evaluate the hypotheses and address.
Results: The findings revealed a significant positive association between the two variables. Additionally, the analysis underscores the significant positive relationship between the competitive learning approach and students' academic performance in cost accounting in federal universities in the south-south region of Nigeria.
Limitations: The sample size was small, which may have affected the reliability of the findings.
Contribution: The study would also be of benefit to professional bodies such as ICAN, ANAN, NIT, and others in that they would be aware that students have different styles of learning their course contents.
Novelty: The study advised educators to strategically design learning activities that would promote both collaboration and competition, while also establishing high-performance expectations for students.
Practical implications: Instructors are also expected to help students develop these three different styles of learning, since cost accounting, a course studied at the university, involves many calculations and concepts
Analysis of employee performance through productivity: The role of kaizen culture, motivation, and work discipline in the manufacturing industry
Purpose: This study investigates the relationship between employee performance and productivity in the manufacturing industry, focusing on the impact of Kaizen culture, motivation, and work discipline on employee performance.
Research Methodology: The study employed a quantitative method approach, which involved a survey of 105 respondents from the manufacturing Industry in West Java, and the analysis of key performance indicators from several pilot case companies in Bekasi that implemented Kaizen techniques. Data were analyzed using the SmartPLS test.
Results: Kaizen culture, motivation, and work discipline are vital for improving employee performance and productivity. Employee motivation directly influences the implementation of the 5S system, and the company meets employees’ needs for career development and information. Employee performance is influenced by motivation, discipline, training, and culture, with productivity as the mediator.
Limitations: The generalizability of this study is limited by its focus on a specific industry and geographic location. Future studies should replicate the study across different industries and regions to increase the scope of the findings.
Contribution: This study contributes to the current literature by examining how Kaizen culture, motivation, and work discipline boost employee performance and productivity in manufacturing. The results underscore the significance of these elements in enhancing organizational performance and offer practical suggestions for companies that aim to enhance productivity and employee engagement.
Originality: This study is unique in its thorough examination of how Kaizen culture, motivation, and work discipline affect employee performance and productivity in manufacturing. Motivation through indirect compensation: Evaluating employee performance in Enugu State Civil Service Commission
Purpose: This study evaluates the impact of indirect compensation on employee job performance by the Enugu State Civil Service Commission.
Research Methodology: This study employed a cross-sectional survey research design with a population of 280 participants, comprising staff from the Administration, Planning and Budgeting, and Research & Statistics Units, spanning grade levels 2-16 within the Enugu State Civil Service Commission. Data were collected using a questionnaire as the primary tool and rigorously analyzed using the Pearson correlation coefficient in the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 23.
Results: The findings revealed a significant positive impact of indirect compensation metrics on employee performance of the Enugu State Civil Service Commission.
Limitations: The study specifically targeted personnel within grade levels 2-16 of the Enugu State Civil Service Commission.
Contribution: This research significantly advances our understanding of indirect compensation and its impact on employee performance by pioneering new concepts, refining existing theories, and conducting comprehensive empirical studies.

Comparison of depression and anxiety levels among students: An observational study in Dhaka City
Purpose: The aim of this study was to compare differences in depression and anxiety levels among college students by type of college, gender, socioeconomic status, sleeping time, and health status.
Research methodology: For the purpose of this study, three (3) public and three (3) private colleges were selected from the colleges of the National University in Dhaka city by applying the purposive sampling method. In total, 192 respondents were selected using simple random sampling. Subsequently, survey data were analyzed using means, standard deviations, percentages, frequencies, and a simple linear regression model.
Results: The mean scores for Depression, Anxiety according to college type (government versus non-government) were , statistically different. At the depression level, Government and Non-government College students were both minimally depressed, but at the anxiety level, government and non-government college students were mild (37.69) and severe (46.13), respectively. In the regression model, this study found statistically significant differences in depression and anxiety by college type and gender.
Limitations: The main limitation of this study was that the number of participants was small, which in many cases may not represent the entire population. Second, the participants had difficulty understanding the scale used in the depression and anxiety questionnaire.
Contribution: The results of the current study will help Bangladeshi psychological society, various universities, research institutes, and government policymakers formulate strategies for mental health.
Novelty: The method applied and the results obtained in this study will open up new horizons of ideas instead of long-standing conventional ideas for studying the depression and anxiety of students studying at the National University of Bangladesh

The absolute competence of the industrial relations court resolving employment termination disputes
Purpose: The jurisdictional scope or competence of the Industrial Relations Court is elaborated in Section 56, Law Number 2, Year 2004. However, Section 56 Number Law 2 Years 2004 has spurred further debate regarding the proper competence of the Industrial Relations Court because, under this law, the Court has issued ineffective and inefficient court decisions. In response to this debate, this study problematizes the competence of the Industrial Relations Court in presiding over the termination of employment contracts.
Method: In analyzing the problem, this research uses a normative juridical method that has a systematic way of conducting research, focusing on competency theory, the theory of justice and supremacy of law, subjective justice, competency of the Industrial Relations Court according to existing laws and regulations, and experts’ views regarding the contribution of the existing literature to the competency of Industrial Relations Court judges.
Results: This study argues that an excess of laws governs the termination of employment contracts, which supposedly lies under the competence of the Industrial Relations Court. Hence, to protect the rights of employees in the context of industrial relations, a judicial review of Law Number 2 Year 2004 on manpower is required.
Limitations: This research has a number of limitations, including the time required to search for additional references, such as the latest journals, and comparisons with the competence of industrial relations courts in various countries.
Contributions: It is hoped that the results of this research can provide information as a basis for consideration and contribution of thought to policymakers in formulating laws and regulations more effectively and efficiently to bring justice, legal certainty, and benefits to society
Model development of empowered on the job training program to improve the school leadership effectiveness
Purpose: The development of an on-the-job training program manual model is a critical step for educational units within the framework of sustainable human resource capacity development, which aims to see the need for an on-the-job training program for school leadership teams to improve their leadership effectiveness. This certainly needs to be supported by the design of an on-the-job training program for school leadership teams to improve their leadership effectiveness as an alternative means of capacity building for school leadership teams in managing schools. In addition, it is also to see the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the on-the-job training program model for the school leadership team to improve their leadership effectiveness which in turn can provide significance to the education services managed in schools.
Method: This study used a development research method based on Smith and Ragan's design. The instruments used in the study were validation and practicality sheets, model needs analysis questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Data on the validity and practicality of the model were obtained during data processing. Data processing was continued with paired sample t-test analysis using SPSS and N-Gain to determine the effectiveness.
Results: The results of existing research show: 1) an assessment of the feasibility of the EMPOWERED OJT model to increase the effectiveness of school leadership shows a very high validity category with an average value of 84%, and its practicality is considered very practical with an average value of 95%; 2) an assessment of effectiveness, there is a Sig value. (2-tailed) is <.001, which is < 0.05, indicating that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. This shows the influence of using the OJT program model manual to increase the effectiveness of school leadership. It is also seen that there is an increase in the average (gain) of the pretest and posttest data of 0.73, which is included in the medium group criteria. Based on the results of this research, the developed product model is effective and contributes positively to increasing the effectiveness of leadership in schools, in this case, in the ranks of school leaders
Development of a manual for standardizing the teachers recruitment process
Purpose: This research aims to design clear and structured guidelines to ensure that each stage of the teacher recruitment process is carried out consistently and according to established standards.
Method: This type of research uses a research and development (R&D) approach using the Thiagarajan et al. development model, known as 4D models, namely, 1) definition, 2) design, 3) development, and 4) dissemination. Data collection involves conducting surveys, interviews, and questionnaires, whereas data analysis techniques use qualitative and quantitative descriptive analyses.
Results: The research results show that 1) the material used in developing the teacher recruitment manual is in the form of objectives, procedures, and selection criteria; 2) the material for the process of developing the teacher recruitment manual through four stages define, design, develop, disseminate; 3) quality or suitability obtained from HRM score validation results of 41 with a percentage of 75%, Education Management score validation results of 32.5 with a percentage of 81%, language score validation results of 54 with a percentage of 98%; and 4) the practicality test results from stakeholders were 4.24, with a percentage of 85%, indicating that manual use is declared practical to use
