Implementation of Agile Methodology in Public Sector

This paper will help provide the business groups the solution to overcome any issues with agile for any of the development processes within the Public sector. This assignment will help us see the results of adoption of agile by various business groups within the public sector where it is been implemented. The idea of fast paced development with set goals and deadlines have transformed how the implementation works as compared to traditional methods in Public sector. Agile methodology has always focused on product and quality but at the same time compromising on security and risks. The other factors such as continuous development of the product lead to minimized efforts in testing. This paper will explain the various methods of how the information was collected, how the team transitioned into an agile environment, what were the results of this transition amongst the team within the public sector. Thus, the idea of adoption of agile v/s traditional model for software projects in the Public sector will be explored
Boundary Value Analysis for Input Variables with Functional Dependency
Get PDFSoftware in today’s world is used more and in different ways as well than ever before. From microwaves and vehicles to space rockets and smart cards. Usually, a software programmer goes through a certain process to establish a software that will follow a given specification. Despite the hard work of the programmer, sometimes they make mistakes or sometimes they forget to include all the possibilities of the question for which they are writing the program, which is very humanly in nature. And for those mistakes, a testing unit is always there.
There are numerous techniques of Software Testing, one of which is Boundary Value Analysis. A modified version of Boundary Value Analysis using input parameters with functional dependency is proposed in this work. The idea is derived from the inter dependency of functions among the input parameters. With this modified algorithm, an automated testing tool is created and implemented. This testing tool shows the advantages of the modified algorithm developed over the Functional Tree Approach and reduces a significant amount of test cases that leads to an exhaustive testing. This modified method will test almost every possible required test case increasing the system’s efficiency. This method will be a very good help for any product based company saving a huge amount of money and time.
Generalized BVA generates 5*n number of test cases where n is number of variables while Function Tree method generates the highest of all three that is n*5^(n-1) and the modified approach generates 7*n + k number of test cases where k is the number of mutants killed at each step. So, it shows that the number of test cases in case of modified algorithm is significantly lower than the Function Tree algorithm while almost similar as regular BVA but it covers more functionalities and feature
Innovation through Agile Project Management

But, the development of technology within business, finds the waterfall methodology confining the implementation of innovation through its requirements. Conversely, the earlier used in agile methods satisfactorily proofed to re-energize project management in huge organizations that do not develop the application.
The researcher focused on finding the ways innovations are possible under agile project management through the following research question. First, how agile project management methodology enable to big organizations to succeed in their life settings by quickening modifications? Secondly, how does the big organization positioning benefit from unending modern opportunities brought by the changes in agile project management? Thirdly, does the big organization embrace a rigorous innovation procedure associated with the agile project management? Finally, how can the big businesses consider sufficiently agile to succeed and survive the modern life changes?
The conclusion that will be derived from this research will be used to make inferences that will enable seamless agile project management in big organization and companies. This will accelerate the productivity of these organizations. If the modern trends and analysis can be obtained, then the big organizations can benefit by learning of the opportunities that will be brought about by the agile project management
Mitochondrial DNA heteroplasmy in cardiac tissue from individuals with and without coronary artery disease
Get PDFThe cellular environment associated with coronary artery disease (CAD) can lead to mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) damage. Mitochondrial variants in some copies of mtDNA (heteroplasmy) and mtDNA content are potential genetic biomarkers for CAD-associated disease states. Massively parallel sequencing and qRT-PCR techniques were used to measure heteroplasmic variants and mtDNA content in heart samples from donors with (n = 8) and without (n = 7) documented CAD. Both groups showed increased numbers of heteroplasmic mtDNA variants in the control region (CR) (p \u3c .0010, ANOVA). The donors with CAD displayed a 41.07% increase in heteroplasmic mtDNA variant number in the CR (p = .043), an 87.50% increase in the number of heteroplasmic mtDNA deletions (p = .12), and a 48.76% increase in the number of heteroplasmic mtDNA single nucleotide variants (p = .029). These data suggest potential trends towards higher cardiac mtDNA heteroplasmy levels in heart samples from donors with CAD

Software Development outsourcing encompasses a contract based voluntary relationship between vendors and clients, wherein a client outsources a part or all the business activities to the concerned vendor. However, an offshore outsourcing demands completely different capabilities as against a domestic outsourcing. To begin with, firms associating with off-shore outsourcing must need to compete against language constraints, cultural differences, contrasts in time zones and also the organizational structures. Hospital consumer assessment of healthcare providers and systems scores relating to pain following the incorporation of clinical pharmacists into patient education prior to joint replacement surgery
Get PDFBackground: Pharmacist involvement has been shown to improve various aspects of patient care. Patients undergoing knee and hip replacement surgery generally experience post-operative pain and discomfort. Pain control can impact patient satisfaction, as reported by the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey.
Objective: The current pilot study aims to measure the potential impact that incorporating pharmacists into preoperative patient education programs has on the response to select HCAHPS questions.
Methods: Patient responses to two select HCAHPS questions related to pain were recorded for a year prior to pharmacist involvement in a comprehensive preoperative patient education program (2012) and a year after pharmacists became actively involved (2013).
Results: In all reporting surgical patients, there was a modest 3.68% improvement in mean scores reflecting patient’s feelings that hospital staff did “everything they could” to attend to their pain (mean2012=3.66, SD=0.63 versus mean2013=3.80, SD=0.43, p=0.018, Mann-Whitney U test). There was a non-significant 2.98% improvement in scores reflecting the level that pain was “well controlled” (mean2012=3.54, SD=0.651 versus mean2013=3.65, SD=0.554, p=0.069, Mann-Whitney U test) in surgical patients.
Conclusion: The results suggest comprehensive pharmacist involvement in patient education prior to joint replacement surgery may impact HCAHPS scores related to pain control. While the observed potential improvements were modest, the current results justify larger, multi-institution prospective studies to better elucidate the impact pharmacists can have on pain management in patients undergoing joint replacement
