El traslado de una colección patrimonial: la experiencia de la Biblioteca de Menéndez Pelayo (Santander)
Get PDFThe comprehensive restoration project of the Menéndez Pelayo Library started in 2018. Its purpose was to improve the library’s facilities to accommodate its precious objects. The whole building was vacated and all its contents (bibliographic collections, documentaries, art pieces, furniture, IT equipment, records, and reference books) were moved, so that the restoration work could begin. The steps and measures taken to complete this intricate move are the subject of this paper.En 2018 comenzó el proyecto para la rehabilitación integral del edificio de la Biblioteca de Menéndez Pelayo cuyo objetivo era la mejora de las instalaciones para albergar adecuadamente su importante y valioso contenido. Para poder realizar estas obras fue necesario el vaciado completo del edificio: colecciones bibliográficas, documentales, obras de arte, mobiliario, equipos informáticos y de reprografía, ficheros, materiales de referencia, etc. La preparación de este complejo traslado y las actuaciones cometidas son el objeto de esta comunicación

No full textThis research is aimed at one of the fundamental principles of the European Union: cooperation and solidarity through collaboration and the exchange of knowledge between universities (Spain and Italy) to work on topics that have not been dealt with in teaching.
This descriptive study is based on a joint project between two European universities, in which 81 students participated with the aim of creating teaching materials for the approach to renewable energies: solar and hydro. To do so, each university used a different methodology. This report compiles the experience of the Spanish university in creating the materials.
The European diversity allows through different perspectives to contribute to common goals, in the experience allowed the creation of 56 materials under the REAPSES method. In the process, students became familiar with the E-Twinning platform and the topic of sustainable energy, while developing psycho-affective, metacognitive and ICT skills.The eTwinning platform has enabled collaboration between two European university institutions, one located in Italy and the other in Spain. Both have teamed up to work towards a main objective: the development of educational materials related to renewable energy, specifically solar and hydro energy, aimed at primary school pupils. The secondary objective is to evaluate the previous knowledge of eTwinning, the learning styles of the students and their perception of the experience of creating materials using the method called Corners of Learning Styles for Primary, Secondary and Higher Education (REAPSES). This article presents a detailed description of the mixed study carried out by one of the institutions, with the participation of 61 students. The study uses questionnaires and addresses the analysis of results through both quantitative and qualitative approaches. Despite the technological and linguistic challenges faced, this collaboration successfully culminated in the creation of 56 educational materials. This experience gave university students the opportunity to develop practical skills and technological competencies, while improving their social skills, contributed to their integral development and enriched the teaching and learning process in a diverse European context.

La plataforma eTwinning ha permitido la colaboración entre dos instituciones universitarias europeas, una ubicada en Italia y la otra en España. Ambas se han unido para trabajar hacia un objetivo principal como es el desarrollo de materiales educativos relacionados con las energías renovables, específicamente la energía solar e hidráulica, dirigidos a estudiantes de primaria. Se plantea como objetivo secundario evaluar el conocimiento previo de eTwinning, los estilos de aprendizaje de los estudiantes y su percepción de la experiencia de creación de materiales utilizando el método denominado Rincones de Estilos de Aprendizaje para Primaria, Secundaria y Estudios Superiores (REAPSES). En este artículo, se presenta una descripción detallada del estudio mixto llevado a cabo por una de las instituciones, con la participación de 61 estudiantes. Dicho estudio hace uso de cuestionarios y aborda el análisis de resultados mediante enfoques tanto cuantitativos como cualitativos. A pesar de los desafíos tecnológicos y lingüísticos afrontados, esta colaboración culminó con éxito en la creación de 56 materiales educativos. Esta experiencia brindó a los estudiantes universitarios la oportunidad de desarrollar habilidades prácticas y competencias tecnológicas, al mismo tiempo que mejoró sus habilidades sociales, contribuyó al desarrollo integral y enriqueció el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje en un contexto europeo diverso.

Los fondos fotográficos del Arxiu Històric de la Universitat de les Illes Balears: Una ventana al pasado
Get PDFIn this article we present four photographic collections located in the Historical Archive of the Universitat de les Illes Balears. Three of them date from the first half of the 20th century and are based on glass plates and are an interesting example of the beginnings of photography on the island of Mallorca. In addition, they are fully digitized and accessible. The fourth one is a large display of nature photography from the turn of the millennium, mounted on slides that are in the process of being digitalized. They are, therefore, four funds of great wealth at the service of the scientific community and society in general.En el presente artículo damos a conocer cuatro fondos fotográficos ubicados en el Arxiu Històric de la Universitat de les Illes Balears. Tres de ellos datan en la primera mitad del siglo XX y se basan en placa de vidrio y resultan una interesante muestra de los inicios de la fotografía en la isla de Mallorca. Además, se encuentran totalmente digitalizados y accesibles. El cuarto es una gran muestra de fotografía de naturaleza del cambio de milenio, montada en diapositivas, y que se encuentra en proceso de digitalización. Se trata, pues, de cuatro fondos de una gran riqueza al servicio de la comunidad científica y de la sociedad en general
Carrera de fondo para normalizar la aceptación de fondos documentales en la Universitat de Barcelona
Get PDFThis project aims to shed light on the documentary collections housed at the University of Barcelona, which do not originate from the institution itself but that have been generously donated by external producers. Through collaborative efforts between the Office of Historical Archives and Documentary Heritage (OAHPD), responsible for setting archival description standards and utilizing the UBDOC (University of Barcelona Documents) file management tool, and the team at the CRAI Libraries (Learning and Research Resource Center), focused on description and custody, these resources are made accessible to the public. As an unintended outcome, this initiative has spurred the exploration of a consensus-driven approach to establish comprehensive regulations, ensuring consistent criteria for managing proposals concerning documentary fund donations to the University of Barcelona.Esa experiencia pretende dar a conocer los fondos documentales custodiados en la Universidad pero que no han sido generados por la propia universidad, sino que son donaciones de productores externos. Sumando esfuerzos entre el equipo de la Oficina de Archivo Histórico y Patrimonio Documental (OAHPD) que aporta los criterios de descripción archivística y la herramienta de gestión de archivo UBDOC y el equipo del CRAI bibliotecas en cuanto a descripción y custodia, se ponen éstos a disposición de la ciudadanía. Ello ha llevado, como efecto colateral, a la búsqueda de un consenso para establecer una normativa suficientemente amplia que permita establecer criterios homogéneos para gestionar las propuestas de donaciones de fondos documentales a la Universidad de Barcelona

Get PDFThe labels classical, folk and popular music generates a series of behaviours towards each of these sonorous expressions that influence the rejection that students feel towards so-called “classical” music. In this text we propose the dissolution of these labels through the figure of Manuel de Falla, with special attention to the stage work El amor brujo (1915). By understanding this work in the context of its creation and reception and paying attention to the agents involved in its genesis (a question in which we also raise gender issues), students will be able to overcome the clichés and stereotypes associated with these music, thus acquiring meaning for them.La habitual tripartición música culta, folclórica y popular genera una serie de comportamientos hacia cada una de estas expresiones sonoras que influyen en el rechazo que los estudiantes sienten hacia la denominada música “clásica”. En este texto proponemos la disolución de estas etiquetas a partir de la figura de Manuel de Falla, con especial atención a la obra escénica El amor brujo (1915). Mediante la comprensión de esta obra en el contexto de su creación y recepción y atendiendo a los agentes implicados en su génesis (cuestión en la que también planteamos estudios de género), los estudiantes podrán superar los clichés y estereotipos asociados a estas músicas, adquiriendo así significado para ellos

Get PDFThis article results from recent interest in the work of women who have devoted a large part of their lives to research Costa Rican culture. It is a first approach to studying the role Emilia Prieto Tugores played in the construction of a musical culture linked to the national-popular project in Costa Rica between 1931 and 1980. It, therefore, develops a proposal to analyze a number of folk tunes collected by Prieto Tugores and, at the same time, it discusses how such tunes reveal identity features of the peasant class that lived in the Central Valley during most of the 20th century.El presente artículo forma parte del reciente interés por el trabajo de mujeres que han dedicado gran parte de su vida a la investigación de la cultura costarricense. Se trata de aproximarse al estudio del papel desempeñado por Prieto Tugores en la construcción de una cultura musical vinculada al proyecto nacional-popular en Costa Rica entre los años 1931 y 1980. En consecuencia, se expone la propuesta de análisis de algunas tonadas campesinas recopiladas por la costarricense Emilia Prieto Tugores a la vez que se plantea, cómo estas revelan características de la identidad de la clase campesina que habitó el Valle Central de Costa Rica durante gran parte del S. XX

Get PDF22 artistical bookbinding in Neoclassical style is described and analysed to build upon Library of Osuna knowledge. They belonged to María Josefa Alonso Pimentel, 15th Countess-Duchess of Benavente. These bookbinding cover 22 copies that arrived at Zaragoza University Historical Library because the Spanish government bought the Library of Osuna after the 12th Duke of Osuna’s death, ruined and without heirs. The books of this library were spread across Spanish public libraries.Como aportación al mejor conocimiento de la Biblioteca de Osuna, se describen y analizan 22 encuadernaciones artísticas, de estilo neoclásico, que pertenecieron a María Josefa Alonso Pimentel, XV condesa-duquesa de Benavente. Estas visten otros tantos ejemplares que ingresaron en la Biblioteca General de la Universidad de Zaragoza después de que el XII duque de Osuna muriera endeudado y sin herederos y el Ministerio de Fomento comprara la Biblioteca de Osuna. Esta se dispersó entre las diferentes bibliotecas públicas españolas
EL uso de las serendipias como fuente de investigación: un ejemplo de la Universidad de Salamanca
Get PDFWe present an example of the possibilities offered by serendipity as a research source. On many occasions it is difficult to establish a link between the objects found inside books and the people who left them; at any rate, they tell us little or not enough to trace even a minimum life itinerary. This is not the case in the instance we present here. The University of Salamanca acquired Teodoro Martín Robles’s library, made up of some 2,000 titles, in 1954. The amount and diversity of the objects found in his books - drawings, notes, letters, photographs - stimulated our curiosity, and with the help of archival records and historical press references we have been able to rebuild to a large extent his biography and to fit into that framework the pieces of the puzzle scattered throughout the pages of his books.Presentamos un ejemplo de las posibilidades que ofrecen las serendipias como fuente de investigación. En muchas ocasiones establecer una relación entre esos objetos y las personas que los dejaron en los libros es difícil; en todo caso, nos dicen poco o no lo suficiente como para permitirnos trazar un mínimo itinerario vital. En el caso que aquí presentamos no ocurre así. La Universidad de Salamanca adquirió la biblioteca de Teodoro Martín Robles en 1954, con unos 2.000 títulos. La cantidad y diversidad de objetos encontrados en sus libros –dibujos, notas, cartas, fotografías– estimularon nuestra curiosidad y con la ayuda de documentación archivística y de la prensa histórica hemos podido reconstruir en gran medida su biografía e ir encajando en ese armazón las piezas del puzle desperdigadas entre las páginas de sus libros
