    Accountability Concept of Village Fund Management through Religious Spirit

    Village funds management and its accountability reports in Indonesia are very important since it relates directly to many people in villages and deal with significant amount of funds. The accountability of village fund is also beneficial for the sustainability of the local government development. This study tries to deconstruct the accountability of the village funds using samples from eight villages in Tempel district, Sleman regency, Special Province of DI. Yogyakarta. The village heads, village secretaries, members of the village management board, and village treasurers were selected as the main informant. The validity of the data was done by several tests namely credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability tests. Results indicate that the accountability of village fund management in the observed sample sites covers vertical accountability, horizontal accountability, social accountability and spiritual accountability. This study imply that the ongoing accountability performed by the village fund managers is accountability in the perspective of both the world and the hereafter

    Enhancing Competitiveness in Indonesia's Furniture Craft Industry: A Five Porter Analysis

    Indonesia's craft industry, encompassing traditional crafts such as batik printing, weaving, and furniture, plays a vital role in the nation's cultural identity. Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) are key players, propelling the growth of creative cities. Among them, the furniture industry is prominent, despite a minor dip in 2022 exports. Notably, the United States accounts for 58.5% of Indonesian furniture exports and is the main export destination. This study employs the Five Porter Analysis to explore external factors influencing the furniture craft sector. The findings emphasize the importance of ensuring a stable supply of raw materials, aligning products with international preferences, promoting sustainable resource management, fostering innovation, and navigating international trade regulations. Government support is pivotal. The results demonstrate the need for a comprehensive strategy to sustain competitiveness. It calls for capacity building, market research, and global collaboration to strengthen Indonesia's position in the international market. This research offers valuable insights for policymakers, industry stakeholders, and MSMEs to enhance Indonesia's furniture craft industry's competitiveness while preserving its rich cultural heritage

    Study Of Employment Characteristics And Entrepreneur Competency As Effort To Increase SMEs Performance

    ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to focus on the study of job characteristics and competencies of SMEs as an effort to improve the performance of SMEs. Based on Law no. 20 of 2008, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, Micro Enterprises are productive businesses owned by individuals and/or business entities that meet the criteria. a business that is not a subsidiary or not a branch of a company that is owned, controlled or becomes a part either directly or indirectly of a Medium or Large Business that meets the criteria of a Small Business. MSMEs are the most vital sector as a support for the regional economy in creating jobs. West Bandung Regency makes a major contribution to economic activities by continuing to increase the number of industries and SMEs that contribute to providing employment opportunities.This study uses a qualitative method, so what is taken from this explanatory research is its descriptive-holistic nature and the use of the theoretical basis used in the research framework. Thus, the authors hope to find the depth of interpretation of the data and test the theoretical criteria used in this study. The study that the researcher conducts The case study is one of the research methods that is carried out in-depth examination rather than generalizing to a situation or phenomenon called a case by using systematic methods of observing, collecting data, analyzing information, and reporting the results. As a result, you will get a deep understanding of why something happens and can be the basis for further research with a single case study, data collected through observation and in-depth interviews, and documentation to produce the best conclusions and can be an argument for researchers.The results of the study indicate that job characteristic and entrepreneurial competencies have not been able to fully support the improvement of SME performance. This is because the number of SMEs in West Bandung Regency is less developed there are still many of the products they offer the same, resulting in high competition among SMEs, and for buyers, there is no other choice. The results of the study can be concluded that the characteristics of work and entrepreneurial competence as an effort to improve the performance of SMEs have not been achieved, West Bandung SMEs need to be developed and managed properly and there is a cooperation between SMEs actors and the relevant government

    Fraud Control to Strengthen Internal Control Systems in Local Goverment

    Talking about fraud in Indonesia is endless, negligence can lead to fraud, but this fraud can be controlled early with proper internal controls. Fraud will always exist where there are opportunities and weaknesses. Every effort should be made by the organization to prevent and control fraudulent acts. The government agencies in Bone Bolango is a government organization that implements the Fraud Control Plan control tool. The purpose of this research is to analyze the existence and application of the Fraud Control Plan attributes in the work environment of the organization. The research method in this research is descriptive qualitative with a case study at government agencies in Bone Bolango Regency, Gorontalo Province. The results of this study that this government agencies has a good assessment in realizing the performance of Good Governance in the criteria of "Sufficiently adequate" in an indication of a reduction in fraud and an increase in employee performance in the organization. the important value of the presence of fraud control for agencies is the accountability of each attribute value reflects the transparency of each activity. Control of each agency is more controlled and positively directed and further minimizes the occurrence of fraud. The value that can be drawn from this research is the achievements that have been made optimally so that they can be properly maintained, and for elements that have not been fulfilled so that they can be corrected immediately in accordance with local government procedures and policies. The next researcher should consider the other methods used

    The Importance of Students Perception of Online Learning During Pandemic

    The pandemic of COVID-19 has impacted the Indonesian government through its Ministry of Education and Culture, shifting learning from classroom to online classroom. This study is a collective case study consisting of a survey analysis on students’ perceptions of online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 83 students of the English Education Department at Universitas Negeri Manado participated in the study. Their perceptions of the online classroom were recorded through a survey, focusing on students’ participation, accessibility, material and assignment delivery, and the use of applications in online learning. The results were summarized into tables and narrative descriptions. This study identified three major struggles in conducting online learning, with nearly half of the respondents reporting negative perceptions. More than half of the students stated they experienced difficulties with online learning, such as poor internet signals, boredom, lack of interaction with friends, difficulty focusing on lessons, limited understanding of the material, and unsupportive learning environments due to living in villages or remote areas. This study may assist further related research and serve as a basis for consideration in improving and sustaining the teaching and learning process in the future without disadvantaging students, teachers, or parents

    Leadership Determination and Training Effectiveness on Employee Performance Through Work Motivation Mediation

    This study analyses the effect of leadership and training on employee performance by mediating work motivation. This research was conducted in January - October 2022. This study uses a quantitative approach; the sample; chelation in this study was 120 employees of the Directorate General of Islamic Education, with sampling using random sampling techniques. The data obtained through the questionnaire was then managed and coded using Microsoft Excell. Then the data is processed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), which is assisted using the Smart-PLS 3.0 analysis program and SPSS by conducting validity and reliability tests. To get the conclusion that there is a positive influence of leadership on employee performance, leadership on work motivation, training effectiveness on work motivation, training effectiveness on employee performance, work motivation on employee performance, leadership on employee performance through the mediation of work motivation and performance effectiveness on employee performance through the mediation of work motivation.Â

    Development Of The Potential Of The Angke Kapuk Mangrove Forest Natural For Ecotourism In Kamal Muara Village, Penjaringan Sub-District, North Jakarta

    Mangrove forest ecosystem has various ecological, socio-economic and cultural functions for society, such as for nature tourism or ecotourism activities. The purpose of this article is to discuss the potential for the development of the Angke Kapuk Mangrove Forest Nature Park (TWA), North Jakarta for ecoturism activities. The research method used in this study was qualitative method. The results of the study showed that there are various strengths that are potential for the Angke Mangrove Forest to be developed for ecotourism, such as the strategic location of tourist attractions, the presence of natural tourism objects, and the existence of interesting a variety of flora and fauna species of mangroves for visitors. However, the Angke Kapuk Mangrove Forest still has some weaknesses. Therefore, for the development of these natural tourism or ecotourism areas in the future, it is necessary to pay attention to the principles of ecotourism, such as tourism activities must minimize negative impacts on the environment, the need to increase the active participation of local residents

    Influence of Risk Perception and Destination Image Mediated by Satisfaction Towards Destination Loyalty in Tanjung Lesung Tourism

    COVID-19 is seen as a hazard to the tourist sector. Knowing visitors' views of pandemic risk can help develop an effective and efficient approach to increasing the volume of visits to Tanjung Lesung. This study investigates the link and impact of perceived risk (health and socio-psychological) and destination image (cognitive and affective images) on destination loyalty mediated by Tourist Satisfaction. This study used a quantitative methodology using non-probability purposive sampling to provide this analysis. The sample analyzed included people who visited Tanjung Lesung, and 150 respondents who fit these criteria were discovered. Using the SEM-PLS method, this investigation's significance level was 5%. The results indicate that perceived risk was found to influence satisfaction also destination loyalty; hence destination image was found not to have a significant influence. From here, tourist industry players and the government may collaborate to strengthen public communication methods to boost the industry's favorable image and overcome crisis

    Shopping Experience of Indonesian Diaspora in Europe Related to Primark's Reputation and Customer Attitude towards Unethical and Unsustainable Business Practice Brands

    When Primark is alleged to be an unethical and unsustainable fashion brand after the accident in Bangladesh in 2013, we would like to know further about the public’s response as well as their attitude toward fast fashion brands selling cheap clothes, including Primark. With such a reputation, we also want to get a deeper yet broader range of understanding by conducting interview with our respondents who are Indonesian diaspora (who have been to Europe) and some European citizens. We asked them about their point of view and their experience in purchasing items both in fast fashion and sustainable fashion brands. The research method used is qualitative, with interviews as a data collection technique. The result showed that the reputation of Primark as a fast fashion brand as well as its accusation of unethical and unsustainable business practices, affect consumer behavior in purchasing fashion products. Brand reputation also has a strong connection between consumer attitude and buying decisions. Despite buying decisions with sustainable brands not yet done hugely by now, consumers have started to rethink shopping with fashion brands that practice business against the law and norms regarding society and the environment

    Corruption Loops in Indonesia During 2004-2019 (The Need for Protection Whistleblower)

    In Indonesia, corruption occurs in all state institutions, including the executive, legislative and judiciary. The division of powers that are expected to carry out their respective functions is actually used as mutually reinforcing to commit corruption. The purpose of this study is to analyze how big the corruption loophole is in Indonesia. The method used in this study uses a literature study approach from various references. The results of the study show that although various efforts have been made by the government to eradicate corruption, corruption is still rampant. The data shows that the five highest ranks of corruption by profession/position are Private with 287, Member of DPR DPRD 257, Echelon I/II/III 213, Other 141 and Major/Regent and Deputy 115. Plus the lack of role models at the top makes employees lower levels are also entangled in the vortex of corruption. There are many loopholes for corruption in Indonesia, protection for the role of whistleblowers and proper handling are needed to create a deterrent effect for corruptors. The imposition of severe sanctions for corruptors is only life imprisonment or death penalty, so that those concerned cannot nominate again as regional heads, members of the DPR/DPRD/DPD, President and Vice President.Keywords: Corruption, Sanctions, Governance, Preventive Measures, Whistleblowe
