UniCog: A Framework Proposal for the Dynamic Compilation of Comparative Data for the Reconstruction of proto-Ryukyuan
Get PDF国立国語研究所信州大学名桜大学NINJALShinshu UniversityMeio University本稿では，琉球祖語の再建に向けて，琉球諸語の比較データを動的に構築できる枠組みを提案する。UniCog（Unified Cognacy Framework for proto-Ryukyuan）と呼ぶこの枠組みは，琉球諸語に分布する約7,400語の同源語リストを伴っており，その中核には琉球諸語を対象とする既存の全ての語彙データを紐付けるための同源語IDシステムがある。本枠組みを記述した後，具体例を示しながら，この枠組みの実装によって開かれる研究可能性について述べる。最後に，語形の比較を目的とする，琉球諸語の統一的な表記も提案する。この枠組みの導入が日琉諸語の歴史比較言語学の分野においていくらかの貢献を果たすことが期待される。In this paper, we propose a framework which includes an approximately 7,400-word cognate list for the dynamic compilation of comparative data with the goal of reconstructing proto-Ryukyuan. The core concept of this framework, which we call UniCog (Unified Cognacy Framework for proto-Ryukyuan), is to provide a cognate ID system to link all the existing lexicographic data of the Ryukyuan languages. We then show what can actually be achieved with this framework in terms of dynamic compilation of comparative data. Lastly, we propose a standardized orthography for all Ryukyuan dialects for the specific aim of comparing and aligning the word-forms between the doculects. A Study on Expressions with the Body Part Word "Mouth"
Get PDF一橋大学Hitotsubashi University「口」は身体部位として用いられるだけでなく，そこから派生した表現が多く見られる。本稿では，そのような派生表現について，国語辞典や『IPAL』，『分類語彙表』などと比較しながら，『現代日本語書き言葉均衡コーパス』を用いて意味を分類し，使用数を調査した。意味分類をすると，「言語」，「飲食」，「ものの出入り」，「表情・態度」，「種類」のように分けられたが，最も使用されているのは「言語」であり，身体部位として用いられていない「口」の中では8割以上の割合を占めていた。言語に関わるものや飲食に関わるものは，口本来の機能からも連想しやすいが，そこからさらに派生して意味が拡張していくと，「種類」のように，もとの意味から考えても意味が連想できないものも見られた。
「口」の派生表現は，慣用的に広く使われている表現も多くあるため，意味分類を提示する場合，例文があると分かりやすくなる。現在，例文が付与されていない『分類語彙表』においても，例文が提示されることによって，使われ方がより分かりやすくなることを示す。The word ""mouth"" is not only used to signify a body part but also to express several other meanings. In this study, I investigate the meanings and frequency of usage of such expressions using the Balanced Corpus of Contemporary Written Japanese, in comparison with a Japanese dictionary, IPAL, and Word List by Semantic Principles. The meanings are classified into ""language,"" ""eating and drinking,"" ""things coming in and out,"" ""expressions and attitudes,"" ""kinds,"" and ""other,"" with ""language"" being the most frequently appearing. Expressions related to language and eating and drinking are easily associated with the basic functions of the mouth; however, others, such as those related to ""kinds,"" have meanings that have expanded beyond that.
Since many expressions with ""mouth"" are widely used idiomatically, they would be easier to understand if example sentences are provided in the semantic classification. I show that in the Word List by Semantic Principles, the presentation of example sentences can make the usage of the word ""mouth"" easier to understand.application/pdfdepartmental bulletin pape
