Genesis of Identity: What Gave Birth to It?
Get PDF自己同一性は「わたしは何々である」と主語・述語形式の文で表明することで確立する。この主語・ 述語関係は単なる形式ではなく，主語が慈愛に満ちた述語的世界によって包容されてあることを示す形 式である。主語・述語関係を論理的な言葉に翻訳し，数学的な関数関係として捉えることは，本来それ が持っていた形式であると同時に愛の関係をも意味するという，関係性の豊かさを喪失させる。情報処 理心理学の背景にある計算論的な論理学は，文が持っていた形式と内容の渾然一体となった，その本来 の姿を表現することができない。論理的世界の手前に，形式が同時に意味でもあった言語的世界がある。 同一性は，言語による述語的語りかけによって，世界の存在が述語的関係性によって包容され，主語・ 述語関係として成立したことに起源を持つのである。Self-Identity is established by expressing “what I am” in a sentence with a subject/predicate formation. This relation between a subject and a predicate is not just a formation, but it indicates that the subject is embraced by a predicative world which is full of charity. Translating a subject/predicate relationship into logical words and regarding it as a mathematical functional relationship causes the loss of the richness of the relationship, in which the formation it originally had means the relationship of love at the same time. Computational logic behind information processing psychology cannot express the unified figuration of the form and content within a sentence. There is a world of the language where a form was a meaning at the same time before the logical world divides them into separable terms. Identity has the origin in that the existence of the world was embraced by the predicative relation expressed by the predicative talk of language and was established as a realization of a subject/predicate relationship.departmental bulletin pape

A Pilot Study of Study-Abroad Students’ Diary Studies: Re-entry Issues upon Returning Home
Get PDF海外留学に出発前の学生を対象に留学準備講座を開設する大学は増加しているが，帰国後の学生に対 応する講座の設置は発展途上である。そのため留学期間が終了し帰国した学生に対し，単位換算などの 事務手続き以外のフォローアップを行う体制作りが課題となっている。本論では二学期間の長期留学を 経験した大学生のダイアリー・スタディーの予備調査を報告する。調査が行われた私立大学では，2017 年度に出発前の留学準備講座が開講されたが，帰国した学生に対し日本における再適応のための指導は 行われていない。そこで筆者は帰国後の再適応のプロセスを探求することを目的とし，二人の学生を対 象に英語でのダイアリー・スタディーを実施し，うち一人の学生の記述内容を通して，帰国後の再適応 プロセスを考察する。帰国後の留学生の再適応に焦点を当てることにより，大学が提供できる支援体制 の可能性を探る。In recent years, a growing number of Japanese universities have created courses to prepare their students for studying abroad. However, despite the demand for assistance to ease the students’ re-entry back in Japan, besides transferring credits and other administrative procedures, a structure to follow up on their return to the home institution may not be available. This paper introduces a pilot study, which focuses on diary studies of Japanese university students who studied abroad for two semesters. The home university, which is a private institution, created a study-abroad preparation class in 2017; however, there has not been any post-sojourn course offered for returning students. In the present research notes, I conduct a diary study based on entries written in English by one former exchange student with an emphasis on his re-entry process in Japan. Shedding light on issues which Japanese students experience upon their return, this paper explores how universities and institutions can help their re-entry back in Japan, which is an understudied area.departmental bulletin pape
Clarification and Visual Representation of the Concept of Power(1)
Get PDFPower-related phenomena are one of the most difficult things to understand in social sciences and the field of conflict resolution as well. What is power and how power works are never obvious for many people as well as social scientists. So far, scholars and researchers tried to define power in many ways and there is considerable accumulation of research on power. However, during the last several decades, discussions about the concept of power became unnecessarily complicated and confusing. According to Kazuo Seiyama, the current situation of power study is “absurdly chaos” (おそろしく混沌としていて) and that “variously different concepts of power stand together in a disorderly way.” (さまざまに異な った「権力」概念の乱立). The purposes of this paper are twofold: firstly, to provide clearer concept of power by clarifying some aspects of power concept; and secondly, to visually demonstrate concepts and processes regarding power. The author’s concern is that how ordinary people and college students can effectively learn and understand the concept of power, which is based on sound theoretical framework. For this purpose, first, some definitions on power made by major scholars were referred to; second, several aspects of power were examined according to author’s own understanding about power phenomenon; and third, diagrams and conceptual formula on power were developed. In following the principle of Occam’s Razor (i.e., ‘in explaining a thing, no more assumptions should be made than are necessary’), the resource-based power approach which is described in this paper seems one of the parsimonious ways to understand the power phenomena.
