    Strategi Promosi Identitas Baru Hotel Kristal Kupang menjadi Hotel Swiss-Belinn Kristal Kupang melalui Media Relations

    Hotel Kristal is the first hotel in Kota Kupang with the first 3-star standard. The increasing development of the hotel business made the owner of Kristal Hotel switch management to Swiss-Belhotel International. Changes in hotel management include the creation of a new corporate identity and require a promotion to be known, recognized and can be a reference when wanting to use hotel services, with a promotional strategy to promote a new corporate identity to the public through media relations. This study aims to find out what media relations are used in promotions and obstacles and solutions. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The data in this study were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation study techniques. The results of the study show that the press luncheon and press gathering are media relations activities which are one of the promotional strategies used in promoting the identity of Swiss-Belinn Kristal Kupang. In promoting a new corporate identity, the company encounters obstacles, namely the high-budget advertising budget, through this obstacle, the company can overcome it by utilizing the company's social media as a forum for promotion, without reducing relations with local media. It is hoped that through this research Swiss-Belinn Kristal Kupang Hotel can maintain its existence by expanding the reach of relations with the media, and can make identity as an asset to maintain and increase business value

    Akomodasi Komunikasi dalam Interaksi Antarbudaya antara Warga Asli Dusun Kiuteta dengan Warga Timor Leste di Desa Noelbaki

    The purpose of this research is to find out the accommodation in convergence, divergence and excessive accommodation in intercultural interactions that occur between the original residents of Kiuteta hamlet and new residents of Kiuteta hamlet and new residents of Timor Leste in the village of Noelbaki, Kupang. The theory used in this study is the theory of communication accommodation. This research is a type of qualitative research. Data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. Informants in this study amounted to 11 people, namely : (1) five new residents of Timor Leste, (2) five residents of the Kiuteta Hamlet, (3) Noelbaki Village leader. The results of this study indicate that in conversation people have three choices namely convergence, divergence, and excessive accommodation. Intercultural interaction of communication accommodation of convergence between indigenous residents of the Kiuteta Hamlet and new residents of Timor Leste, namely mutual respect when speaking and adjusting language where new residents of Timor Leste must adjust, understand the language use of the native inhabitants of the Kiuteta Hamlet. Convergence choices occur in some new residents of Timor Leste who still maintain a culture (dialect) to highlight differences. An act of excessive accommodation at an interaction where new residents of Timor Leste are considered as rude citizens. Suggestions for achieving common goals in diversity the adaptation process should continue to be carried out by local residents and new residents of Timor Leste in Kiuteta hamlet

    Efektifitas Metode Demonstrasi Sebagai Media Edukasi Cara Cuci Tangan Pakai Sabun (CTPS) Pada Mahasiswa FKM Undana Tahun 2019

    Healthy behavior washing soap or (CTPS) is not fully understood by the public at large, and the practice is still not widely applied in everyday life including in the student campus age group. The purpose of this research is to investigate the impact of counseling with the demonstration method in increasing knowledge and changing of attitude of CTPS at the student campus of FKM Undana. The method used was pre-experiment with a one-group pretest-posttest research design. The sampling technique used was total sampling, namely 30 respondents. The data obtained were analyzed using the paired-sample T-test. The results of this study indicate that the Demonstration method is effective in increasing the knowledge and attitude of the student campus with a significance value (ρ) 0.00<(α)0.05. Demonstration methods are highly recommended as one of the effective learning media as wash soap handbound sales for student campus

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi, menganalisis dan membahas strategi media relations yang dijalankan Humas Pemerintah Kabupaten (Pemkab) Ngada dengan media cetak dan media elektronik. Teori manajemen public relations dijadikan sebagai pedoman dengan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan strategi media relations yang terbangun melalui kerja sama antara Humas Pemkab Ngada dengan media massa baik itu cetak maupun elektronik. Kendala yang ditemukan dari kerja sama baik ini, diantaranya kurangnya komunikasi berkelanjutan yang terjadi antara Humas Pemkab dengan media massa sebagai institusi. Kendala ini menyebabkan citra pemerintah tidak terbangun secara efektif. Karena itu, Humas Pemkab Ngada berupaya memperluas jalinan kerja sama baik lewat penerapan strategi media relations dengan media cetak dan media elektronik agar dapat meningkatkan citra pemerintah di mata publik

    Campaign strategies are needed by each regional head candidate who participated in the contestation of governor election, including the Victory-Joss who participated in the contestation of the 2018 East Nusa Tenggara governor election. Victory-Joss who previously were not very well-known by East Nusa Tenggara communities must strive to reach all areas of East Nusa Tenggara, which are an archipelago province, to be able to introduce themselves, bring political messages to almost all people of East Nusa Tenggara so that they can be acknowledged more closely, and all their best intentions for East Nusa Tenggara can be recognized. This is where an extension of Victory-Joss’s campaign team, which is the online media, as one of the Victory-Joss’s package campaign strategies is needed to reach wider communities. The purposes of this study are to discover and explain the Victory-Joss’s package campaign strategy and the reasons for conducting the campaign strategy by the Victory-Joss pair to gain East Nusa Tenggara communities’ supports in the 2018 East Nusa Tenggara regional election. The research type that was employed was qualitative historical research with a case study method. Data in this study were collected through interviews and document collection techniques. The results showed that the campaign strategy through online media conducted by the Victory-Joss package was to form a media team consisting of five online media that have existed in East Nusa Tenggara, namely seputar-ntt.com, likuraionline.com, savanaparadise.com, nttsatu.com, and mediantt.com, and also to form an IT team and social media teams to distribute videos and memes related to Victory-Joss’s package’s words when campaigning on the field as well as in the Victory-Joss’s package campaign contained in the five online media’s publicity that contained news about the appearance of Victory-Joss’s package in traditional and cultural events which were held in the midst of the East Nusa Tenggara communities

    Communication is a process of delivering information (messages, ideas) from one party to another. The form of communication activities used are to write, read, speak and listen to others speak. The purpose of this thesis is to know the function of family communication in the formation of teen personality in Sikumana Village, Maulafa District, Kupang City. This research was conducted in Sikumana Village, RT 014 / RW 006 by taking the object of family communication function in the formation of teen personality. This study examines the function of family communication in the formation of teen personality. This research type is descriptive qualitative, that is studying data obtained in field by using data in the form of written or oral sentence, behavior, phenomenon, event of knowledge or object of study with emphasize on understanding, thinking and perception of researcher. The informants of this study are the people who are determined by purposive sampling, that is selected based on certain considerations that informants are considered competent in answering the questions of researchers. Primary data was obtained through interviews with resource persons at the time of the study. Secondary data is obtained through literature study in the form of books, journals and so on that related to the problem under study.The results obtained, showing the function of family communication in the formation of teen personality refers to the daily activities of the family. The function of family communication used in this research there are 2 functions, namely Social Function and Cultural Function. Apparently in Sikumana Village, RT 014 / RW 006, teenage personality is often complained of the unruly personality. This happens because the lack of attention from parents because of busy with work, family communication functions that do not work properly, teenagers who become disobedient to parents, lazy school, so that children listen to more peers and spend more time with friends, friend. The conclusions of this study indicate that the family communication function that occurs in Kelurahan Sikumana using Social Functions and Cultural Functions in shaping teen personality and expectations of parents so that their teenagers can become a better person without damaging their future

    PROSES AKULTURASI (STUDI FENOMENOLOGI KOMUNIKASI PERKAWINAN ANTARBUDAYA ROTE-JAWA, DI KAMBANIRU, KUANINO, KOTA RAJA, KUPANG)

    Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: (1) Untuk mengetahui proses akulturasi yang terjadi dalam perkawinan antarbudaya Rote - Jawa di Kambaniru. (2) Untuk mengetahui faktor apa saja yang menjadi hambatan dan penunjang proses akulturasi yang terjadi dalam perkawinan antarbudaya Rote – Jawa di Kambaniru. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kambaniru dengan mengambil objek perkawinan campur antara suku Rote dan suku Jawa. Penelitian ini mengkaji proses akulturasi dalam perkawinan antarbudaya suku Rote dan suku Jawa. Tipe penelitian ini ialah Fenomenologi, yakni dengan mengkaji data yang diperoleh dari lapangan, dan kemudian melakukan penggambaran atau mendeskripsikan hasil penelitian. adapun informan-informan penelitian ini adalah orang-orang yang ditentukan secara purposive sampling yaitu dipilih berdasarkan pertimbangan tertentu bahwa mereka dianggap berkompeten untuk menjawab pertanyaan peneliti. Data primer diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara mendalam. Data sekunder diperoleh melalui studi pustaka berupa buku-buku, jurnal dan sebagainya yang berkaitan dengan masalah yang diteliti.Hasil Penelitian yang didapatkan menunjukkan proses akulturasi pada perkawinan campur antar suku Rote dengan suku Jawa merujuk pada kegiatan-kegiatan keseharian dari keluarga tersebut. Keadaan yang menunjukan akulturasi budaya biasanya berupa kebudayaan mana yang dominan digunakan oleh keluarga tersebut. Ternyata untuk masalah budaya yang dominan digunakan dalam keluarga ini lebih mengedepankan budaya suami yang bersifat patrilineal. Sedangkan faktor-faktor hambatan yang berpengaruh terhadap proses akulturasi dalam perkawinan suku Rote dan Suku Jawa adalah Pertama, Bahasa dan Intonasi yang berbeda. Kedua, adanya sikap etnosentisme. Ketiga, adanya stereotipe dari masing-masing suku. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa keluarga yang berasal dari Suku Rote dengan Suku Jawa yang ada di Kambaniru melakukan akulturasi demi penyesuaian antara keduanya agar proses adaptasi mengenai kebudayaan akan lebih mudah dilakukan.Kata Kunci : Perkawinan Antarbudaya, Akulturasi, Fenomenologi, Prasangka, dan Empati

    Penerapan Pesan Literasi Media oleh Perempuan dalam Keluarga (Studi Terhadap Keluarga di Kota Kupang)

    This study is focused on identifying domestic media literacy messages of families in Kupang City. The author was interested in figuring out the application of media literacy messages by women (housewives) within family. The research question for this study was: How is the application of media literacy messages by women in families in Kota Kupang, NTT?. The aim to be achieved was to find out the application of media literacy messages by housewives in the family. The method used was in-depth interviews with housewives in various professions and educational backgrounds in Kota Kupang, NTT. The results of the study showed that media literacy messages have been conveyed in the informants' families, such as rules of media consumption either through TV or the Internet. These messages were dominated time constraint on watching TV or accessing Internet and the selection of certain broadcast contents.     TRANSFORMASI KOMUNIKASI GENDER DALAM FACEBOOK

    Perbedaan komunikasi gender dalam ruang publik dunia nyata dan ruang publik virtual menarik untuk diteliti. Hal itu dikarenakan banyak hal yang berbeda dalam komunikasi dunia nyata dan virtual. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui formalitas komunikasi dan ruang publik virtual gender dalam Facebook, Transformasi Komunikasi Nonverbal gender dalam Facebook dan Komunikasi tekstual gender melalui status Facebook. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode fenomenologi, sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data melalui FGD dan penelusuran akun. Informan penelitian adalah Pengguna Facebook laki-laki dan perempuan dari berbagai usia yang dipilih dengan teknik sampling purposif. Beberapa temuan penelitian ini yakni tidak ada perbedaan gender dalam pemanfaatan ruang publik virtual Facebook dikarenakan setiap orang memiliki peluang yang sama untuk berkomunikasi di Facebook; paralinguistik elektronik dalam Facebook tidak mampu mengganti komunikasi nonverbal dalam tatap muka, yang identik dengan komunikasi perempuan; Pengungkapan diri dalam komunikasi tekstual laki-laki berdimensi luas sedangkan perempuan berdimensi dalam.Kata kunci: Facebook, Komunikasi, Virtual, Gende

    Judul ini diangkat sesuai dengan latar belakang pemikiran bahwa pada dasarnya manusia merupakan mahluk sosial, manusia pada hakikatnya memiliki kecenderungan untuk hidup berkelompok, antara lain didasari oleh hobi ataupun suatu kegiatan untuk memenuhi tujuan kebutuhan tersebut dengan berkomunikasi. Dengan demikian yang menjadi rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah : bagaimana pola komunikasi komunitas Nusa Tenggara Timur Tiger Club (NT3C) dalam mempertahankan solidaritas anggotanya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pola komunikasi yang terjadi dan berkembang pada komunitas Nusa Tenggara Timur Tiger Club, jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian Deskriptif Kualitatif, sumber data menggunakan informan atau Narasumber sebanyak 10 orang terdiri dari ketua umum, devisi humas, devisi keanggotaan, devisi touring dan anggota komunitas NT3C yang dilakukan pada kurun waktu 1 bulan selama bulan oktober 2016, dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan pada hasil peneitian diketahui bahwa rasa solidaritas anggota NT3C terbentuk karna adanya komunikasi yang intens dan pemahaman tentang pola komunikasi yang baik, hal ini menunjukan rasa kekeluargaan dalam anggota komunitas NT3C sudah pada tingkatan yang mendalam. Pola komunikasi yang digunakan NT3C adalah pola komunikasi model bintang, dimana semua anggota mempunyai kedudukan yang sama dalam akiifitas komunikasi didalam komunitas.Kata kunci : Pola Komunikasi, Komunitas, Solidaritas, NT3C
