Artemisia Species: Traditional Uses and Importance in Pharmacology
In folk medicine, the effects of using Artemisia in the treatment of maladies have been discussed for the past century. Review papers on ethnopharmacology and laboratory studies of the pharmacological effects and herbal components make up the majority of the articles on this plant. Artemisia-based clinical investigations on the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, dyspepsia, etc. are anticipated given the validation of the digestive effects of this plant in traditional medicine in several countries. Regarding the aforementioned discoveries, it was discovered that the use of this substance in traditional literature and indigenous medicine was consistent with the fresh findings, and many of these studies may have their origins in traditional and indigenous uses. Haitian Moringa, the Plant that Nourishes, Heals and Enriches
Native to India, Moringa oleifera is a species that grows in almost all tropical regions. Thanks to its ability to resist drought and light frosts, M. oleifera is widely cultivated throughout the world. Located in the center of the American continent and in the Caribbean, Haiti has the soil and climate conditions favourable to Moringa growing. This plant is considered an essential tool to fight malnutrition in the country contributing to the dietary balance of consumers due to the high nutritional value. The medicinal properties of M. oleifera give it great importance in contributing to the prevention or treatment of certain diseases such as diabetes, blood sugar, cancer, anemia, malnutrition, constipation, urinary tract infections, and others. Because of its particularities, Moringa offers great opportunities for the country's entrepreneurs and other actors in the sector. Thus, the objective of this article is to give an overview of the importance of this plant and to encourage the Haitian state and institutions to strengthen production and research on Moringa.The interest of this work is also to get the attention of the scientific community to the potential of M. oleifera and to encourage any research that could valorize this precious resource
Antioxidants Of Natural Plants Uses In Food Products
The interest by using natural antioxidants in food products has been focused of counting on the variety of plant materials are known to be natural sources of antioxidants (herbs, spices, seeds, fruits and vegetables). These sources have a low economic impact, considering that the most of them, may be extracted from food by-products and under-exploited plant species. Many foodstuffs that show antioxidant activities have been enriched with plant extracts, characterized by a high concentration of polyphenolic compounds. Monitoring of Oxythyrea Funesta and Tropinota Hirta Species in Fruit Shrub Plantations in Cluj County
Two species of the family Cetoniidae are commonly found in agricultural ecosystems: Oxythyrea funesta (Poda, 1761) and Tropinota hirta (Poda, 1761). These are polyphagous, attacking annual plants, fruit trees and shrubs but also plants from spontaneous flora. In 2020-2022, the presence of these two pests in the blackberry and black currant plantations was monitored, using Barber traps and blue containers with ecomonal products, (E)-anethole and (E)-cinnamyl alcohol and (±)-lavandulol and 2-phenyletanol. Species have been identified by morphological characters. The studies were carried out in the blackberry collection from USAMV Cluj-Napoca and in the ecological currant plantation in Recea Cristur - Cluj County (Romania). In the variant with (E)-anethole and (E)-cinnamyl alcohol in the three years, 318 individuals were captured, of which 282 of Tropinota hirta Poda (representing 88.7% of the total catches) and 36 individuals of Oxythyrea fatesta Poda. In the variant with (±)-lavandulol and 2-phenyletanol in the three years, 218 individuals were captured of which 139 were Oxythyrea funesta Poda (representing 63.8% of the total catches) and 79 individuals of Tropinota hirta Poda. These ecomonal products may be useful in monitoring and/or control these species. In Barber traps, catches were very low and they are not recommended in monitoring of these species
Monitoring of Diurnal Pasture Lepidopterans Located in Bilbor Commune, Harghita County
During the monitoring period of the lepidopteran entomofauna we collected 29 species, which systematically belong to the following families: 7 from the Lycaenidae, 17 from the Nymphalidae and 5 from the Pieridae. The species with the highest abundance are: Maniola jurtina L., Boloria selene Denis and Schiffermüller, Argynnis paphia L., Pieris mannii Mayer, Pseudophilotes schiffermuelleri Hemming and Coenonympha pamphilus L. The relatively good state of biodiversity conservation in the area is confirmed by the fact that in Pseudophilotes schiffermuelleri Hemming, Argynnis paphia L. and Coenonympha pamphilus L. which are potentially threatened taxa in Romania, in this area the population is well represented. From the Nymphalidae family, Boloria selene Denis and Schiffermüller is one of the most vulnerable taxa in the country, in the Bilbor area it is a well-represented species. Colias myrmidone Esper, which is in decline in Europe and is on the verge of extinction, still has a very small population only in the Bilbor and Gheorgheni area at an altitude of about 1000 m. Lycaena dispar rutile Werneburg, Lycaena thersamon Esper and Colias australis Verity considered considered vulnerable taxa in the country, in the Bilbor area still have a very small population

The tomato processing industry generates huge waste like tomato skin, seed, and pulp which creates environmental issues. Tomato consumption is directly associated whit the prevention of different chronic diseases, also the fiber content together whit the protein content of tomato seeds are benefits of their consumption. Tomato peels are the richest source of lycopene. Since tomato pomace and peels contain bioactive compounds and pigments, the present review study is conducted to investigate the effect of tomato pomace on physicochemical characteristics and shelf-life stability of the developed product, also study the synergic effect of lycopene whit Mentha piperita L. and Anethum graveolens L. or other sources
Efffects of Rhizobium Inoculation, Sulphur and Zinc Nutrients on Yield and Yield Componets of Chickpea (Cicer aritienum L.) at Gewane, Northeastern Ethiopia
The goal of this study was to see how a combination of Rhizobium inoculant, S, and Zn nutrients affected chickpea nodulation and yield (Cicer arientinum L.) at Gewane, northeastern Ethiopia. The experiment included 12 treatments arranged in factorial combination of levels of inoculation (Rhizobium inoculated, un-inoculated), three rates of S (0, 15, 30 kg Sulphur ha-1) and rates of Zn (0, 1.5 kg Zinc ha-1). The treatment becomes laid out in randomized complete block design with 3 replications. Analysis of variance showed that yield and yield associated parameters (main branches, number of pod, quantity of seed, hundred seed weight, grain and straw yield), crop phenology (days to 50% flowering and days to physiological maturity), nodulation scores (nodule amount, nodule volume, nodule dry weight, effective nodule and nodulation score), N and P uptake at both locations had been significantly affected by the treatments. The best (1775.5 kg ha-1) suggest rate of seed yield over locations changed into acquired from blended costs of rhizobium and 30 kg S ha-1 which led to 28 % (389 kg ha-1) growth over the control. Consequently, rhizobium inoculation with rate of 30 kg S ha-1is recommended for chickpea production on the experimental site
Determination of Yield and Yield Characteristics of Some Barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) Genotypes Under Supplemental Irrigation Conditions in Van
This research was carried out to investigate the adaptability abilities of some barley varieties in Van ecological conditions in the winter growing season of 2020-2021. Sixteen genotypes were grown according to randomized block design with three replications. The quantity of supplemental irrigation was equivalent to a total precipitation of 114 mm. According to the results obtained, the number of days to spike was 167.67-175.66 days, plant height 63.37-91.85 cm, number of spikes per square meter 403.67-619.67, lodging 0-10%, chlorophyll 45.34- 53.09 SPAD units, maturity period 36.0-36.7 days, canopy temperature 30.0-30.4 oC, spike length 7.30-9.96 cm, number of spikelets per spike 33.8-21.7, number of fertile spikelets 7.13-15.73, thousand grain weight 36.67-45.83 g, hectolitre weight 62.30 – 66.10 kg/hl, biological yield 20.36-20.45 t/ha, and grain yield 3.08–6.98 t/ha. The highest grain yield was obtained from two row barley varieties; Calabey, Akar, Tosunpasa and Asil. The highest biological yield was measured in Anka-11 and Aydanhanim cultivars
The Use of Wild Apple Fruits for Innovation Confectionery
The purpose of this study was to improve chocolate products with filling already on the market with a jam from a kind of less exploited apple in our country, named ornamental apples (Malus baccata). The finished product was obtained by the classic process of obtaining jam, boiling apples to a jam consistency, then slipping the skins and pips, re-boiling and adding sugar. Then it left a little to cool down and put himself in jars for storage, followed by the classic sterilization operation known as the popular ”dusting”. Physico-chemical analyses such as moisture and dry matter, mineral substances, pH and titrable acidity were carried out in this study. After carrying out the analyses on apple jam, the finished product was made, named chocolate with apple jam filling; these two products combine very well, since chocolate tastes sweet, while the jam is a little sour and result in a sweet and sour taste that delights our taste buds
Improvement of the Water Management by Applying the No Tillage System for the Winter Wheat Production
The Transylvanian Plain has a particular aspect, as the hilly areas are predominant and here the soil erosion phenomena through levigation are frequently encountered. The effect of water availability on yields has been thoroughly researched, being one of the main limitative factors of the winter wheat yields. Starting from these considerations, during the agricultural years 2012-2018, a bi-factorial yield test was performed at Agricultural Research and Development Station (ARDS) Turda, for a period of seven years. The study explored the influence of the water status under the influence of two tillage systems and the climatic conditions specific for this area on winter wheat yields. In the field conditions of Turda during experimental interval, the soil tillage system had a rather small impact on the winter wheat yields. In the conventional system (CS) a reserve of accessible water is preserved better during the spring period, this being attributed to a better infiltration into the soil of winter precipitation (snow). In the conservative system (NT), the observed trend suggests that restoration of the ground water reserve is more difficult than in the CS but the loss of water in the CS is just as fast
