Relationship Between Attitude and Knowledge Towards Level of Compliance in Taking Medication
Hypertension, one of the most common chronic non-communicable diseases, is often undetected and has become a leading cause of mortality worldwide. This worry emphasizes how crucial it is to carry out this inquiry. This study sought to ascertain the association between the level of medication adherence and the knowledge and attitude of hypertension patients at Tanjung Karang Public Health Center. This study used a cross-sectional methodology, purposive sampling, and a correlational analytical design. Correlational analysis was done on the 51 respondents that made up the sample. A validated questionnaire was used to gather data, and the Statistical Program for the Social Sciences (SPSS) was used to evaluate the results using the Spearman's Rho test. The majority of respondents were over 45 years old (72.55%), male (52.94%), had completed senior high school (35.29%), and worked as fishermen, farmers, or housewives (56.86%). Most respondents had low levels of knowledge (94.12%) and a positive attitude toward treatment (68.63%). The majority had a moderate level of medication adherence (82.35%), with no respondents categorized as having low adherence (0%). The test results showed no significant relationship between attitude and adherence (r = 0.134; p = 0.347), and no significant relationship between knowledge and adherence (r = -0.009; p = 0.951)
Ecological Index and Distribution of Sponges (Porifera) in the Waters of Labuan Beropa Village, South Konawe
Tropical coastal ecosystems possess high biodiversity and play a vital role in maintaining ecological functions, supported in part by the presence of sponges (Porifera) as filter feeders. This study aimed to identify species diversity, calculate ecological indices, and analyze the distribution patterns of sponges in the coastal waters of Labuan Beropa, South Konawe. Field surveys were conducted through sponge sampling at several observation sites, followed by taxonomic identification, calculation of Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H’), evenness (E), dominance (C), and distribution pattern analysis using the Morisita index. Seven benthic sponge species were recorded: Aaptos pernucleata, Aaptos suberitoides, Clathria (thalysias), Haliclona cymaeformis, Hyrtios erectus, Mycale sp., and Xestospongia muta. The highest density occurred in areas with stable rocky substrates, calm currents, and low anthropogenic disturbance, while the lowest density was observed in areas with intense human activities. H’ values were low (0.632–0.735), E values were high (0.748–0.869), and C values were low (<0.3). Distribution patterns were predominantly clumped, with some species exhibiting uniform or random patterns. These findings indicate that habitat physical quality and the degree of anthropogenic pressure are key determinants of sponge community structure. The baseline data generated can be used to support sustainable management and conservation of tropical coastal ecosystems
Microbial Profile of Salted Parrotfish (Bajo) in Tanjung Luar Traditional Marketifikasi Cemaran Mikrobiologis Ikan Asin Kakatua (Bajo) yang Beredar di Pasar Tanjung Luar, Lombok Timur
Salted parrotfish (Bajo) from East Lombok is a traditional product vulnerable to microbial contamination. This study aimed to identify microbiological hazards in Bajo salted fish marketed at Tanjung Luar Market. Ten samples were analyzed using Total Plate Count (TPC), yeast and mold enumeration, the Most Probable Number (MPN) method for coliforms and Escherichia coli, and selective isolation for Salmonella sp., Vibrio sp., and Staphylococcus aureus. TPC values ranged from 8.2 × 10⁴ to 1.5 × 10⁵ CFU/g, with several samples exceeding the SNI 2721:2009 limit (1 × 10⁵ CFU/g). Yeast and mold counts (1.2 × 10² – 6.8 × 10⁴ CFU/g) remained below the BPOM threshold. All samples contained coliforms (15–46 MPN/g), and most were positive for E. coli (up to 15 MPN/g), surpassing the SNI limit (<3 MPN/g). Salmonella sp. was not detected, whereas Vibrio sp. was found in three producers. Staphylococcus aureus was present in all samples (1.3 × 10² – 2.5 × 10² CFU/g), though still below the permitted limit (1 × 10³ CFU/g). These results indicate that Bajo salted fish remains contaminated with hygiene indicator bacteria and pathogenic microorganisms, particularly E. coli and Vibrio sp., posing potential health risks. Strengthened hygiene and sanitation practices in processing, storage, and distribution are essential to ensure product safety

Hypothyroidism: A Literature Review
Hypothyroidism is a condition in which the thyroid gland is unable to produce enough hormones to meet the body's needs. This condition causes a slowed metabolism, which can lead to various symptoms such as fatigue, weight gain, dry skin, hair loss, constipation, cold intolerance, and facial puffiness. Given the widespread impact of hypothyroidism and the potential for serious complications, special attention is needed for early detection, diagnosis, and effective treatment of hypothyroidism. This literature review was conducted using journal review methods and data searches through sources such as PubMed, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect. The search used the keywords "hypothyroidism," "hypothyroid," "thyroid gland," and "Hashimoto's thyroiditis." The results of the literature review found that the main cause of hypothyroidism is Hashimoto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune disease in which antibodies attack the thyroid gland. Hypothyroidism is diagnosed by examining elevated TSH and decreased free T4 levels, as well as anti-TPO antibody tests to detect Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Treatment for hypothyroidism generally involves administering levothyroxine, a synthetic thyroid hormone, to replace the deficient hormone and normalize metabolic function. Healthy lifestyle support, such as diet and stress management, is also important to help optimally manage this condition. In conclusion, hypothyroidism is characterized by a decrease in thyroid hormone production and preventive management is pharmacological in the form of levothyroxine, while non-pharmacological management is in the form of regulating food intake
The Influence of Monsoon Winds on Humidity, Cloud Cover, and Rainfall in Bengkulu City
The city of Bengkulu, which borders the Indian Ocean, has unique weather and climate. The ENSO phenomenon in 2023 will also strengthen the impact of monsoon winds on weather parameters in Bengkulu City. This research aims to analyze the influence of monsoon winds on air humidity, cloud cover and rainfall in Bengkulu City during 2022-2024. Data including wind speed and direction, humidity, cloud cover, and rainfall, were analyzed using WRPLOT View, ArcGIS, Panoply, and Excel software. The method used is descriptive, quantitative and statistical analysis. The results show that during the Northwest Monsoon (January 2022–2024), the dominant winds are from the northwest and northeast with cloud cover (80%) and the highest rainfall is 449 mm/month and the lowest is 208 mm/month. In Transition Monsoon I (April 2022–2024), the wind direction is from the northwest, the highest humidity is 94%, cloud cover (75%) and rainfall is medium to high. In the Southeast Season (August 2022), the wind direction varies greatly with the highest (95%) and lowest (77%) air humidity and the highest rainfall of 558 mm/month. Meanwhile, August and October 2023 will see a decrease in rainfall, where the rainfall will be 10 – 84 mm/month due to the El Niño phenomenon. Transition Season II (October 2022 and 2024) the wind direction varies greatly, namely from the southeast, northwest and north, rainfall varies from low to high. The highest correlation coefficient for rainfall with humidity was 0.45 at the Bengkulu Climatology Station and the lowest was 0.22 at the Bengkulu University Station. The highest correlation with cloud cover was 0.67 at Tanjung Agung Station and the lowest was 0.53 at Bengkulu Climatology Station. This study reveals that the northwest monsoon contributes to high humidity and rainfall, and El Niño will reduce rainfall significantly in 2023. These results indicate that monitoring seasonal winds is very important for predicting hydrometeorological disasters in Bengkulu City
Evaluation of Liquefaction Hazard in the West Coastal Area of Bengkulu City Due to Megathrust Earthquake
This study analyzes the liquefaction potential in the coastal area of Bengkulu due to the large subduction earthquake in 2007. The study was conducted systematically, beginning with field investigations with shear wave velocity measurements. Spectral matching and ground motion prediction based on relative attenuation models were conducted to obtain a representative picture of ground motion at the study site. Subsequently, soil response analysis was used to evaluate the behaviour of the soil under seismic loading. A non-linear finite element approach was applied to assess the dynamic characteristics of the soil, including excess pore water pressure, shear stress-strain response, and stress path. In addition, an empirical evaluation was conducted to determine the liquefaction potential. The results show that liquefaction has the potential to occur at shallow depths, especially in the first and second layers of the sand layer. The results of numerical and empirical analyses show consistent patterns and agreement. The comparison between the excess pore pressure ratio and the safety factor aligns with the findings from previous studies. These findings emphasise the importance of implementing seismic hazard mitigation measures in the study area
