Wound Healing Potential of Sargassum plagiophyllum Extract on Mice Model with Incision Lesion
The skin serves as the body's outer protection against infection and plays an important role in water and electrolyte balance. The skin is often injured which increases the risk of infection if the wound does not close immediately. This study explored the potential of concentrated extract of Sargassum plagyophyllum in healing incision wounds in mice. Mice were given a 1 cm incision wound and then given CaCl2 S. plagyophyllum extract as the treatment group, povidine iodine as the positive control group, while the negative control group was not given anything. Macroscopic results showed that the wounds in the treatment group healed on day 17, while the negative and positive groups healed on days 15 and 16. Microscopic images showed that the inflammatory phase of wound healing was seen on day five in all groups which showed a normal phase of wound healing. These results indicate that the CaCl2 extract of S. plagyophyllum has the same potency as the positive group, but it is very important to consider the right formulation so that the effectiveness can be increased and faster in wound healing in future studies
Pembuatan Bahan Ajar Berbasis Ekopedagogi Berbantuan Kecerdasan Buatan bagi Guru SMP
Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru SMP dalam pembuatan bahan ajar berbasis ekopedagogi dengan bantuan kecerdasan buatan (AI). Pelatihan dan pendampingan dilaksanakan dengan metode penyampaian materi, diskusi, tanya jawab, simulasi, dan praktik. Hasilnya, para guru berhasil mengembangkan bahan ajar yang interaktif dan adaptif, yang memanfaatkan AI untuk personalisasi pembelajaran dan umpan balik real-time. Peningkatan nilai rata-rata postes dari 61,58 menjadi 78,42 menunjukkan efektivitas pelatihan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan guru. Observasi dan wawancara dengan para guru menunjukkan bahwa mereka merasa lebih percaya diri dan termotivasi dalam mengaplikasikan prinsip-prinsip ekopedagogi. Produk akhir berupa bahan ajar digital yang dihasilkan menunjukkan kreativitas dan inovasi tinggi, serta mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini mendukung temuan sebelumnya tentang manfaat AI dalam pendidikan dan pentingnya integrasi ekopedagogi untuk mengembangkan kesadaran lingkungan di kalangan siswa. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran tetapi juga berpotensi sebagai model untuk pengembangan pendidikan berkelanjutan di Indonesia
Synthesis and Characterization of ZnO Nanoparticles using the Duwet (Syzygium cumini) Leaves Extract as Bioreductor
The synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles was conducted using a green synthesis method that utilizes plants as bioreductors. The secondary metabolites contained in the plants can act as bioreductors in the reduction process of metal oxides and as capping agents in the production of ZnO nanoparticles. This research aims to determine the characterization of ZnO nanoparticles using Syzygium cumini leaves extract as bioreductor. The type of research is experimental research. In this study, the characteristics of ZnO nanoparticles were examined using extracts from the leaves of the duwet tree (Syzygium cumini). Synthesis was performed with varying compositions of zinc acetate dihydrate solution and duwet leaf extract at ratios of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, and 1:4, as well as pH levels of 7, 8, 9, and 10. The nanoparticles were then characterized using UV-Vis spectrophotometry and a Particle Size Analyzer (PSA) to determine the optimal conditions. The optimal conditions for synthesizing ZnO nanoparticles were obtained with a maximum wavelength (λmax) of 368 nm at a ratio of 1:2 and pH 8. The particle size distribution analysis from the PSA indicated an average size of 19.52 nm, with a Poly Dispersity Index (PDI) value of 0.2491. The analysis results using XRD showed the synthesized nanoparticles showed the typical peak for ZnO with 2θ values of 31,7680o, 34,3699 o, and 36,2281o, confirming that the synthesis of nanoparticles had successfully produced ZnO nanoparticles. The UV-Vis, FTIR, and XRD characterization results showed that the nanoparticles produced were pure ZnO nanoparticles
Antioxidant Activity of Gel Formulations Containing Various Plant Leaf Extracts: A Review
Antioxidants protect the skin from the adverse effects of free radicals, which can potentially trigger premature aging and even skin cancer. Free radicals, with unpaired electrons, are highly reactive and can damage cellular structures. However, the high risk of side effects from synthetic antioxidants, such as skin cancer, has increased interest in natural sources. In cosmetic formulations, gel preparations are highly favored because they can optimally and stably deliver active ingredients to the skin. This study employed a literature review method by examining and collecting articles from relevant scientific journals published over the past 10 years (2014–2024), with 13 articles as primary references. The analysis found that several extracts, such as leilem leaf, pandan, and green tea, exhibited strong antioxidant potential, as indicated by low IC50 values, making them ideal as active ingredients in gel formulations. In addition to the type of plant leaves, the effectiveness of these antioxidants is influenced by the extract concentration used, solvent selection during extraction, and the processing techniques employed in formulation
Profile of Science Literacy Skills of Junior High School Students in Surabaya City
Science literacy is critical for every student to master because it can train students' ability to think critically, solve problems, and understand scientific phenomena in everyday life. This study aims to describe the initial science literacy skills of students in Surabaya junior high schools. This research design is a survey design with data analysis techniques used descriptive quantitative, namely by analyzing the average percentage of 3 indicators of science literacy competencies, including 1) explaining phenomena scientifically, 2) evaluating and designing scientific investigations, and 3) interpreting data and evidence scientifically. The research instrument consisted of 9 science literacy test questions adopted from the 2015 PISA science literacy test. The subjects of this research were the 8th-grade students of Labschool UNESA 1 Surabaya Junior High School, consisting of 99 students, 44 male and 55 female students. The results showed that the indicators of evaluating and designing scientific investigations and interpreting data and evidence scientifically obtained a moderate category with an average of 42% and 41%. The Indicator of explaining phenomena scientifically still requires additional training because it is included in the low category with an average of 40%. This is due to students' inability to analyze information, conclude, and link theories with tangible phenomena. Based on the study results, it can be concluded that grade VIII students in Surabaya Junior High Schools have moderate science literacy skills with an overall average percentage of 41%
Effect of Addition of Ecoenzyme on Trichoderma asperellum Formula Based on Black Glutinous Rice on the Root Growth of Sprouts of Bujang Marantau Rice Variety
Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a staple food for Indonesians and plays a vital role in the country's economy. To increase rice production, intensification methods, including the use of fertilizers, are crucial. However, overuse of chemical fertilizers can damage soil structure and reduce microbial diversity. Organic fertilizers and biofertilizers, such as Trichoderma asperellum, have emerged as sustainable alternatives to chemical fertilizers due to their ability to produce growth-promoting hormones. This study investigates the effect of adding ecoenzyme to black glutinous rice-based Trichoderma asperellum formulas on the root length of Bujang Marantau rice variety seedlings. Using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and five replicates, root growth was observed under varying concentrations of ecoenzyme (0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80%). Results show that a 20% ecoenzyme concentration enhanced root length compared to the control. Higher concentrations, however, exhibited diminishing effects due to potential nutrient imbalances. The findings underscore the potential of ecoenzyme-enhanced Trichoderma asperellum formulations for sustainable agriculture
Analysis of Infiltration Rate in Community Forest Land (HKm) Wombo Rengge Kala, Dompu District, West Nusa Tenggara
The amount of water that enters the soil per unit of time is known as the infiltration rate, whereas infiltration itself is the process by which water flows into the soil, typically via rainfall. The purpose of this study was to determine the infiltration rate and the impact of infiltration and to formulate community efforts to control infiltration in the Ampang Riwo community forest. Determination of the research sampling point using purposive sampling. This study used 4 infiltration rate test points and 4 samples were taken for soil samples, namely Vegetation is not dense, very steep land (V1L1), Vegetation is not dense, rather steep land (V1L2), Vegetation is dense, very steep land (V2L1), and Vegetation is dense, rather steep land (V2L2). Measurements were taken using a double ring infiltrometer. The results of the study showed that there were 3 plots that had a fairly fast classification but had different infiltration rate values. The first plot V1L1 which had an infiltration rate value of 150 cm/hour, the second plot V2L1 had an infiltration rate value of 108 cm/hour, In the third plot V2L2 had an infiltration rate value of 186 cm/hour, in the plot V1L2 had a fast infiltration classification, an infiltration rate value of 204 cm/hour. This study there were 12 respondents, namely farmers who had cultivated land. The characteristics of the respondents included age and education level. Based on the results of the study, the perception of cultivators regarding the infiltration rate was obtained with a total of 13 respondents for 10 questions, on average answering strongly agree and agree. Formulation and Evaluation of Facial Wash Gel Preparation from Celery Leaf Ethanol Extract (Apium graveolens L.) Against Staphylococcus aureus Bacteria
Facial wash is a facial cleansing soap that can clean oil and cosmetics that stick to the face. Usually facial wash has a low pH or close to the skin's normal pH, namely 4.5-6.5 and contains milder detergent. Researchers are to determine which celery leaf extract (Apium graveolens L.) is being evaluated as a facial wash preparation and to determine which facial wash preparation has inhibitory power for the growth of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. This research is experimental using the maceration method. The sample used in this research was 10 kilograms of celery leaves. Results : Testing the pH of the celery leaf ethanol extract facial wash gel preparation for each F0, F1, F2 and F3 showed that the pH of the celery leaf ethanol extract facial wash gel preparation decreased due to the presence of acid compounds in celery leaves, causing the pH to decrease slightly but still within the pH range. topical, namely 4.5-7.0 and the pH of the celery leaf ethanol extract facial wash gel preparation above shows a relatively neutral pH which is still safe for the skin. The facial wash gel preparation of ethanol extract of celery leaves (Apium graveolens L.) has an inhibitory zone containing Staphylococcus aureus bacteria in K(+), K(-), F1 (5%), F2 (10%) and F3 (15%) with strong inhibition zone category. Researchers found that the ethanol extract of celery leaves can be formulated in the form of a facial wash gel. It is recommended that further research be carried out on the effectiveness of celery leaves with different concentrations and methods
Pengaruh Model Pembelajaran Inkuiri Berbantuan Media Youtube Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Anak Usia Dini
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri berbantuan media YouTube terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK Hijraturrasul. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif jenis quasi experiment dengan rancangan Posttest Only control group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini yaitu anak kelompok B di TK Hijraturrasul yang terdiri dari dua kelompok. Teknik pengambilan sampel yaitu sempel random sampling setelah penyepadanan kelas. Sampel yang dipilih dua kelompok yaitu kelompok B1 sebagai kelas eksperimen berjumlah 13 anak dan kelompok B2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang berjumlah 13 anak. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, berbentuk instrumen observasi yang telah memenuhi persyaratan instrumen penelitian. Keseluruhan data dianalisis secara kuantitatif menggunakan statistik parametrik dengan bentuan SPSS 29.0 for windows karena memenuhi persyaratan analisis. Berdasarkan hasil statistika deskriptif data penelitian menunjukkan kelas eksperimen memiliki nilai yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Meningkatkan Kemampuan Motorik Kasar Anak melalui Permainan Bowling Penguin pada Kelompok B di TK Permata Hidayah Desa Kayangan
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan motorik kasar anak melalui permainan bowling penguin pada kelompok B di TK Permata Hidayah Desa Kayangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) dengan dua siklus, dimana setiap siklus terdiri dari dua pertemuan. Prosedur penelitian mencakup perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah seluruh anak kelompok B di TK Permata Hidayah Desa Kayangan, yang terdiri dari 15 anak (10 laki-laki dan 5 perempuan). Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan dokumentasi, dengan teknik analisis data deskriptif kualitatif dan deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan motorik kasar anak meningkat setelah dilakukan tindakan dengan permainan bowling penguin. Hasil kemampuan motorik kasar anak pada pra tindakan sebesar 44,81% dalam kategori Belum Berkembang. Pada siklus I mengalami peningkatan dengan nilai rata-rata persentase mencapai 57,2% dengan kategori Mulai Berkembang, dan mengalami peningkatan lebih lanjut pada siklus II dengan nilai rata-rata persentase mencapai 87,3% dengan kategori Berkembang Sesuai Harapan, dan dapat dikatakan berhasil karena telah sesuai dengan indikator tingkat pencapaian yakni 80%. Maka dapat disimpulkan melalui permainan bowling penguin dapat meningkatkan motorik kasar anak di TK Permata Hidayah Desa Kayangan
