Effectiveness of the PhET Simulation Assisted by Songs to Improve Students Critical Thinking Skills in Electrical Circuits
Critical thinking is a fundamental skill in science education, yet many elementary students struggle to develop it due to conventional teaching methods that limit active participation. Electrical circuit concepts are often presented theoretically without hands-on application, making it difficult for students to grasp them fully. As a result, they face challenges in understanding electric current flow, series and parallel circuits and assembling circuits correctly. This study investigates the effectiveness of integrating PhET simulations with songs to enhance students' critical thinking skills in learning electrical circuits. A quasi-experimental design with a Nonequivalent Control Group was used, involving 40 students selected through total sampling. The control group (Class VA) received conventional instruction supplemented with videos, while the experimental group (Class VB) engaged in learning through PhET simulations combined with song and project-based learning. Data collection included written tests based on critical thinking indicators, interviews, and documentation. Statistical analysis comprised independent t-tests and N-Gain calculations. The t-test analysis, with a calculated t-value of 9.367, showed that students in the experimental group experienced significantly higher improvements in critical thinking skills than those in the control group. The experimental class achieved an average N-Gain score of 0.83 (high category), whereas the control class reached only 0.22 (low category). This finding shows that integrating PhET simulations with songs can improve students' critical thinking skills. In addition, supporting the Project Based Learning method allows students to apply their knowledge to real-world projects, encouraging deeper exploration and problem-solving skills. This research presents an innovative method for fostering critical thinking through interactive learning. Further research can investigate its implementation in different subjects to refine and expand effective teaching strategies

Development of Video Clips of Childrens Song about Food Chain to Increase Students’ IPAS Learning Outcome
Abstract concepts in learning materials often become a challenge for students in understanding the concepts of the material, such as the food chain material in IPAS learning. This research developed audiovisual media in the form of video clips of children's songs, which were developed using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model, with the aim of increasing students' understanding as measured by increasing their learning outcomes. The stages of this research include needs analysis, media design, product development, implementation, and evaluation of media effectiveness. Children's song video clip media was proven suitable for use after going through a validity test with a score of 92.1% from material experts and 91.25% from media experts. The increase in learning outcomes is evidenced by the increase in pretest and posttest results, with an average of 73.57 to 84.29 in the small group and an average of 70.25 to 80.75 in the large group. A positive response was also obtained in this study, with a score of 97.5% from the teacher response questionnaire and 90.91% from the student response questionnaire. In addition, this study was considered successful because the t-test obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) or significance value of 0.000 in both small and large groups, which means that the pretest and posttest were significant, because the significance value was less than 0.05, then in the N-Gain test, a value of 0.4170 was obtained in the small group and 0.3617 in the large group. Both scores indicate that the effectiveness of learning is in the medium category, because the N-Gain test value obtained in both small and large groups is in the range of 0.3-0.7. The results of this research conclude that the combination of audio media in the form of songs and visual media in the form of video clips can be a solution in overcoming low levels of understanding and improving learning outcomes in the learning process, especially for food chain material
Growth Curve and Antibacterial Activity Test of Endophytic Bacteria Isolates 1 (IBE1) from Labu Koteka (Lagenaria siceraria) Against Escherochoa coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and MRSA
The rising incidence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria presents a considerable global health threat, requiring the immediate creation of new antimicrobial drugs. A possible strategy involves investigating antibiotics sourced from endophytic bacteria, which are microorganisms that inhabit plant tissues symbiotically. This research is to assess the inhibitory efficacy of endophytic bacteria derived from Lagenaria sicerari against, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The identified endophytic bacteria were cultivated in a fermentation medium to synthesize antibiotics, and their growth curves were examined. Subsequently, antibacterial activity assays were performed against the three harmful bacteria, measuring the sizes of the clear inhibitory zones. The results indicated that Isolated Bacteria Endophytic (IBE) 1 attained optimal inoculum levels at 24 hours and sustained the stationary phase from 24 to 36 hours. The isolates exhibited optimum fermentation on a medium utilizing glucose as the carbon source, with a carbon-to-nitrogen ratio of 5. IBE 1 had the most effective antibacterial action against P. aeruginosa, with a moderate inhibition characterized by clear zone widths of 10.80 mm. The findings indicate that endophytic bacteria from Lagenaria siceraria may serve as promising sources of new antimicrobial drugs, especially against Pseudomonas aeruginosa
