    Get PDF
The design of the Islamic Centre in Gresik Regency responds to the growing need for a multifunctional facility that supports worship, education, social interaction, and economic activities. As a city known for its strong Islamic culture and history, Gresik often referred to as a santri city requires a public space that promotes integrated religious outreach (dakwah) and education. Located on Veteran Road No. 233, a key route linking Gresik and Surabaya, the site offers strategic accessibility. The core issue addressed in this project is the absence of a comprehensive facility that unifies Islamic activities in one location. The community seeks a space that reflects their identity and meets contemporary needs while remaining rooted in Islamic values. The planning process involved a literature review, case studies, site observations, and spatial needs analysis. The design adopts Islamic architectural principles, guided by the macro concept of Rahmatan lil ‘alamin (a mercy to all creation). This overarching theme shapes three micro concepts: land use that reflects hablumminaalam (relationship with nature), building forms inspired by hablumminallah (relationship with God), and spatial organization aligned with hablumminannas (relationship with fellow humans). The final design presents an integrated Islamic Centre complex with clearly defined zoning, featuring a mosque, Islamic Centre building, educational facility, and Hajj training area (manasik haji), along with supporting elements such as a zakat management office, canteen, and green open spaces. The architectural and interior design emphasizes Islamic aesthetics, efficient circulation, and comfort for users engaging in religious and community activities. Ultimately, this Islamic Centre aims to serve not only as a spiritual hub but also as an educational, social, and economic resource. Designed with contextual relevance and sustainability in mind, the building aspires to become an enduring symbol of Islamic architecture and a meaningful contribution to Gresik’s cultural development

    Get PDF
The increasing amount of industrial and agricultural waste necessitates innovation in the use of environmentally friendly alternative materials in the construction sector. This research aims to analyze the influence of varying cement, sand, seashell powder, and coconut fiber powder compositions on the compressive strength and porosity of paving blocks using the Taguchi method and ANOVA. The experimental design uses an orthogonal array L16 (4⁴), resulting in 16 experimental combinations. The test results indicate that coconut husk powder is the most significant factor influencing porosity, while other factors have a relatively small effect. The optimum parameters for porosity were obtained at a cement composition of 643.24 g, sand 915.84 g, seashell powder 686.883 g, and coconut fiber powder 0 g. Meanwhile, the optimum compressive strength was achieved at cement 643.23 g, sand 2289.60 g, seashell powder 228.961 g, and coconut fiber powder 0 g. Regression analysis showed that the model had a good fit with an R² of 0.8967 for porosity and 0.5625 for compressive strength. This research proves that utilizing clamshell and coconut husk waste has the potential to produce high-quality paving blocks while also supporting sustainable waste management

    Get PDF
This research aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based predictive maintenance system for AC electric motors used in water treatment plants. The primary objective is to reduce unplanned downtime and enhance operational reliability by enabling proactive scheduling of maintenance activities. Research design adopts a research and development approach, beginning with a preliminary study, followed by system design, prototype implementation, data acquisition, and performance validation. The system integrates vibration, temperature, and rotation sensors with an Arduino/ESP32 microcontroller for real-time data collection. Data is transmitted via MQTT protocol to a cloud platform for storage and analysis. Machine learning algorithms, including Random Forest and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), are applied to classify equipment condition and detect anomalies. To address the limitation of failure data, Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) are employed to generate synthetic training data, improving model robustness. Experimental results show that vibration levels reached 3.9 mm/s, temperature rose to 95 °C, and motor speed dropped to 1420 RPM, all of which signaled potential failure before actual breakdown. The LSTM model achieved an F1-score of 0.92, which increased to 0.95 when combined with GAN-based data augmentation, outperforming Random Forest. In conclusion, the proposed system demonstrates that integrating IoT with multi-sensor data and advanced machine learning enables early fault detection in AC motors. This approach offers a cost-effective and scalable solution for predictive maintenance, reducing downtime and extending equipment lifespan in water treatment operations

Peningkatan Kualitas Sinyal Elektrokardiogram dengan Filter Adaptif Recursive Least Squares

    Get PDF
This paper presents a comparative analysis of two adaptive filtering algorithms, namely Least Mean Square (LMS) and Recursive Least Square (RLS), for denoising electrocardiogram (EKG) signals contaminated with Gaussian noise. A five-second EKG signal was extracted from a PhysioNet database and artificially corrupted by additive white Gaussian noise. The noisy signal was then processed using both LMS and RLS filters, where parameter tuning was applied to each algorithm to optimize performance. The evaluation metrics used in this study include Mean Squared Error (MSE) and Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR). Experimental results demonstrate that the LMS filter achieved its best performance at a learning rate (μ) of 0.01, resulting in an MSE of 0.1218 and an SNR of 4.18 dB. In contrast, the RLS filter provided superior results with a forgetting factor (λ) of 0.99, achieving an MSE of 0.1179 and an SNR of 4.32 dB. These findings indicate that while RLS outperforms LMS in terms of signal recovery accuracy, LMS remains advantageous in computational simplicity and is more suitable for real-time applications. The comparative analysis suggests that the choice between LMS and RLS should consider the trade-off between denoising performance and computational efficiency, especially in portable or embedded biomedical devices
