Implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) and Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA) for Work Quality Improvement
Full text linkPerformance measurement is needed to improve organizational performance by systematically measuring the level of performance achievement. This is done so that the company can know its position so that improvements can be made which will have an impact on increasing the productivity of the company. PT Esa Solusi Mandiri with the brand name Esaco is a consulting, training, assessment and equipment inspection agency. Esaco needs to improve its performance because the success of a company can be assessed by accurate and precise performance indicators to reflect its competitiveness. The approach used for performance measurement uses the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award (MBNQA). This study shows that Esaco's performance is in the average category with a score of 416.17, which indicates that the company is in the early improvement stage in the service sector
The Influence of Guidance on Construction Bugdet Plan for Local Residents
No full textThe lack of understanding among the community in preparing the Budget Plan (RAB) for construction projects often creates obstacles in project implementation in Kelurahan Ketintang, Surabaya. The Community Service Program (PKM) by Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) aims to enhance the understanding of the community in RT.03 RW.04 Kelurahan Ketintang in preparing the RAB using Microsoft Excel. This program is conducted in three stages: introduction and socialization, technical guidance, and evaluation. The results indicate an improvement in participants' understanding, with the average score increasing from 42.37 in the pre-test to 63.37 in the post-test, reflecting an average increase of 20.99%. This demonstrates that the program is effective in assisting the community to understand and apply the preparation of the RAB more accurately and efficiently. The program is also expected to support better local infrastructure development and strengthen the relationship between the university and the community
PM2.5 Exposure and Health Symptoms in Elderly Residents: A Case Study in Jakarta during the COVID-19 Pandemic
Full text linkThe deterioration of air quality in Jakarta, Indonesia, has become a growing public concern. Exposure to polluted air is known to be hazardous to public health, particularly for sensitive groups such as elderly citizens. PM2.5 (fine particulate matter with an aerodynamic diameter 2.5 μm) is among the most dangerous pollutants commonly found in urban atmospheres. This study assessed the relationship between atmospheric PM2.5 exposure and health-related symptoms among elderly citizens living in Jakarta, Indonesia. PM2.5 concentrations in ambient air were measured using a High Volume Air Sampler with a PM2.5 size-selective inlet for a week in an outdoor location at a nursing home during the Covid-19 pandemic. Health-related symptoms of elderly citizens were collected using a systematic interview method. Both sets of data were collected simultaneously for cross-sectional analysis. Based on the sampling data, PM2.5 concentrations in the area ranged from 15.4 to 42.9 μg/Nm3 (at standard conditions); the Air Pollution Standard Index ranged from 49.9 to 84.3; and the Air Quality Index was moderate for 6 out of 7 (85.7%) days. Results showed that sensitive groups, including elderly citizens, are very likely to be negatively affected by polluted air. The chi-square test results imply that emerging health-related symptoms are significantly affected by elderly citizen characteristics, such as age, gender, smoking habit, and residence time, rather than by the Air Quality Index.
Implementasi Metode VIKOR untuk Membantu Menentukan Pemustaka Terbaik pada Perpustakaan Universitas Dinamika
Full text linkSetiap tiga bulan sekali perpustakaan Universitas Dinamika akan memilih salah satu pemustaka terbaik. Hal ini merupakan program rutin yang sudah dijalankan selama beberapa tahun untuk meningkatkan minat civitas akademika berkunjung ke perpustakaan. Dalam memilih pemustaka terbaik pihak perpustakaan Universitas Dinamika hanya melihat dari dua kriteria yaitu kunjungan dan pinjaman. Apabila terdapat calon pemustaka yang memiliki nilai sama pada kedua kriteria tersebut maka akan dilihat satu kriteria lagi yaitu sudah pernah dapat atau belum. Yang diutamakan untuk dipilih adalah yang belum pernah dapat. Cara ini mungkin terlihat aman-aman saja tapi akan menjadi masalah jika suatu hari ada calon pemustaka memiliki nilai yang sama pada ketiga kriteria. Oleh karena itu untuk mencegah masalah tersebut terjadi dikemudian hari sangat penting untuk menerapkan sistem pendukung keputusan untuk membantu menentukan pemustaka terbaik dan metode yang digunakan adalah VIKOR. Hasil penerapan metode ini menunjukkan bahwa dari 10 kandidat yang dievaluasi, dua kandidat dengan indeks VIKOR terendah, yaitu Alit dan Tri, terpilih sebagai kandidat teratas dengan nilai indeks VIKOR sebesar 1
Implementation of Convolutional Neural Network in Detecting Avocado Ripeness Level
Full text linkSqueezing avocados to determine ripeness can cause physical damage or bruising, reducing the fruit’s quality and resulting in losses for sellers and buyers. This research aims to develop an Android-based mobile application to detect avocado ripeness based on skin color, avoiding physical damage to the fruit. The study uses three simple Convolutional Neural Network architectures to evaluate the algorithm’s ability to detect avocado ripeness. The dataset includes 385 images across four classes: immature, half-ripe, ripe, and overripe (74 images each), and an additional 89 images for the non-avocado class. The model was trained with learning rates of 0.001, 0.0001, and 0.00001. The architecture with the most convolutional layers achieved the best performance with a 0.001 learning rate, yielding a test accuracy of 94.15%, a test loss of 19.28%, and an F1-score of 94.0%. The best model was then converted to TFLite format and successfully integrated into an Android application that functions effectively
Stimulator Listrik Portabel untuk Rehabilitasi Pasca Stroke yang Terintegrasi dengan Pemantauan EMG Sistem Berbasis IoT
Full text linkPenelitian ini mengembangkan stimulator listrik portabel berbasis IoT untuk rehabilitasi pasca stroke dengan pemantauan elektromiografi (EMG). Data EMG dan parameter stimulasi dikirim ke platform ThingSpeak untuk pemantauan jarak jauh. Pengujian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat mampu menghasilkan stimulasi listrik dengan frekuensi 9–42 Hz, sesuai standar IEC 60601-1 (50 Hz), serta memantau aktivitas otot secara akurat. Hasil pemantauan EMG menunjukkan bahwa saat otot relaksasi, nilai EMG berada pada 0–20 mV, meningkat menjadi 0–90 mV saat diberikan stimulasi, dan 0–60 mV saat otot digerakkan. Pada platform ThingSpeak, nilai magnitude berkisar 12–24 saat relaksasi, meningkat menjadi 140 saat distimulasi, dan mencapai 250 saat otot digerakkan. Analisis Penyebab Cacat Produk Assy Menggunakan Root Cause Analysis dan 5 Whys pada PT. PQR
Full text linkGood (NG) pada komponen Side Member Assy yang menyebabkan gangguan proses assembly di pelanggan. Dengan menggunakan metode Root Cause Analysis (RCA) dan 5 Whys, penelitian ini menganalisis laporan klaim pelanggan terkait cacat produk. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyebab utama cacat produk adalah deviasi gap aktual sebesar 0,8 mm dibandingkan standar 0,6 mm, yang diakibatkan oleh ketidaksesuaian parameter mesin, kurangnya verifikasi akurasi pasca-improvement dies, serta ketidaklengkapan fungsi inspeksi dalam Q-Point. Rekomendasi tindakan meliputi revisi Q-Point, penyesuaian parameter mesin, pelatihan inspeksi pekerja, dan verifikasi akurasi. Implementasi tindakan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kualitas produk, menurunkan tingkat cacat, dan meningkatkan kepuasan pelangga
Hydrogen Generator Design Using Motorcycle Electricity Source
Full text linkThe global energy crisis has led to a spike in crude oil prices that has had a significant impact on the world economy. Indonesia, as a country facing a real energy crisis, is experiencing increasing energy consumption and decreasing availability of primary fossil energy. To overcome this problem, people are expected to save fuel by reducing the use of private vehicles. This research aims to develop a hydrogen generator model that uses electricity from motorbikes as an effort to save fuel. The hydrogen generator is designed with several sample models, the first using 4 stainless steel plates, the second 8 stainless steel plates and the third 12 stainless steel plates by connecting two electrolytic cells in parallel. In the experiments, the number of stainless steel anode and cathode plates was varied and the voltage was set at 12 voltages and 6 amperes of current, and tested using 2 methods, namely water and water with baking soda to evaluate the effect on hydrogen production. The results showed a certain trend in hydrogen production related to the variation of the parameters tested and the most effective in this test is 4 plates of water (800 ml) with 10 grams of baking soda and 8 plates of water (800 ml) with 10 grams of baking soda on the manometer gauge an increase of 1 ml
Penerapan Tema Ruang Komunikatif pada Bangunan Wahana Edukasi Alat Permainan Anak Era 1960-2000 di Kabupaten Jombang
Full text linkKabupaten Jombang adalah sebuah kabupaten yang terletak di bagian tengah Provinsi Jawa Timur. Luas wilayahnya 1.159,50 km² terdiri dari 21 Kecamatan dan 307 desa. Mayoritas penduduk Kabupaten Jombang yang memeluk agama islam dengan presentase 95 %. Neo vernakular yang berasal dari kata neo yang bermakna baru dan vernaculus yang bermakna asli, merupakan pengembangan arsitektur asli masyarakat setempat yang diterapkan dalam bentuk modern. Permasalahanya adalah, bagaimana menerapkan desain arsitektur neo vernakular di dalam bangunan tersebut, bagaimana memanfaatkan lahan yang terbatas, dan bagaimana membuat bangunan yang semenarik mungkin supaya anak zaman sekarang tertarik mengunjunginya. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif. Metode deskriptif digunakan untuk menggambarkan objek yang diteliti secara luas dan terperinci sebagai penunjang proses perancangan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah melestarikan Alat Permainan Anak Era 1960 - 2000 Di Kabupaten Jombang dengan kreatif, menjaga keaslian permainan zaman 1960 - 2000 alat tradisional.Hasil akhir perencanaan dan perancangan wahana edukasi alat permainan anak berupa desain pusat pengembangan permainan tradisional anak. Manfaat dari hasil penelitian ini kepada pemerintah daerah dapat menghidupkan kembali kebudayaan berupa permainan tradisional anak-anak
