    平安・鎌倉期にみられる日本的自然観の一考察 ―「草木成仏論」形成過程における自然観の比較考察を中心として―

    仏教は一般に普遍的宗教あるいは世界宗教とみなされているが、それが発祥地のインドから世界各地に伝播し土着する過程において、その地域固有の特質をもつにいたったことは周知の事実である。それはそれぞれの地域で普及した仏教思想における自然観にも生きており、インドの「原始仏教」ならびに「如来蔵系経典」においては「ダルマ中心」的自然観、中国の「非情成仏論」においては「衆生中心」的自然観、そして日本の「草木成仏論」においては「自然中心」的自然観が見出せるのである。「自然」との一体性をもち、その心情を重視するような主観的感性を尊ぶ日本人の自然観は、宇宙の原理や法則などを追求しようとする「原始仏教」の「ダルマ中心」的発想をどのように変容させたのであろうか。仏教思想に見るインドと日本の自然観との比較文化的考察を中心とし、特に日本の「草木成仏論」の成立に至る思想的流れを中国の「非情成仏論」にも触れながら追ってみたい

    This paper deals with the belief in the spirit of rice grain of the Dais and the Hanis in the Yunnan province of China. Even today, people worship sacred trees and believe in the spirit of rice grain in monsoon paddy field areas. It is believed that this spirit is a goddess and women embody it. The three aspects of the culture of this spirit are the worship of trees,the belief in the spirit of rice grain, and the feminine principle. This paper discusses the relationship between these three elements. The feature common to all three is the living power (the link between, and the continuity of, lives). I believe that our society today should respect the culture of the spirit of rice grain

    A Corpus-based, Longitudinal Study of Syntactic Complexity, Fluency, Sentence Variety, and Sentence Development in L2 Genre Writing

    The findings and expectations of four broadly-drawn approaches to the investigation of syntactic complexity frame and inform this corpus-based examination of narrative and argumentative texts written by 22 L2 learners at a university in Japan. A suite of conventional and novel metrics is used to explore complexity, fluency, sentence variety, and sentence development over a two-year period and to compare texts in the two genres. Longitudinal gains in fluency and decreases in fragment use were largely as anticipated for both genres, but significant gains in complexity and increases in sentence variety were unexpectedly limited to narrative texts. In comparing genres, the expected higher value MLTU, the greater complexity of argumentative texts, the differences in clause usage, and the significant divergence in sentence variety values contrast with the surprisingly similar values for MLT. It is suggested that longitudinal changes in the syntactic construction of text are strongly influenced by the constraints and affordances of usage-derived genre, the form, function, and exponents of narrative writing being relatively easier at this level.A Corpus-based, Longitudinal Study of Syntactic Complexity, Fluency, Sentence Variety, and Sentence Development in L2 Genre Writing(Nicholas Wood and Nicolai Struc) The difficulties posed by argumentation may be compensated for by the use of formulaic constructions and templates.     Change in house price structure with time and housing price index -Centered around the approach to the problem of structural change-

    The purpose of this study is to estimate the hedonic price index of secondhand condominiums while taking into account seasonal sample selection bias and structural changes, using the 23 wards of Tokyo as a subject. When housing price indices are estimated using a hedonic price model, the problem of temporal sample selection bias in addition to changes in the housing market structure should be considered. We propose an overlapping-period hedonic model (OPHM: this model was proposed by Ono, et al first), which can accommodate seasonal sample selection bias and structural changes. In addition, we estimate housing price indices for the 23 wards of Tokyo from 1986 through 2006, and demonstrate biases in price indices because of differences in the functions used in the models. Results of the estimation using the OPHM demonstrate that the structure of the housing market changes with time, and these changes occur continuously with time. It is also demonstrated that structurally restricted indices that do not account for structural changes involve a large time lag compared with indices that do account for structural changes during periods with significant price fluctuations. This study proposes a method of estimating hedonic housing price indices under the conditions of successively added data and structural changes
