    Get PDF
The present study examines the correlation of Aaron Antonovsky's model of Sense of Coherence (SOC) and university students' health conditions. Sense of coherence consists of three components such as comprehensibility, manageability, and meaningfulness. Comprehensibility assesses the extent of how much one can cognitively understand situations. Manageability assesses the extent of how much one can make use of available resources in dealing with acute stress. Meaningfulness assesses the extent how much one feels the problems he or she experiences as worthwhile to invest his or her energy and to get involved in them. Past studies have been showing the strong evidence that SOC has a positive relationship with good health conditions. The participants of the study involved 105 students (23 males, 82 females) from R University and 51 femal students from T Women University, nursing school. The results indicate that they have less problems in life if they show higher scores on comprehensibility and manageability. T Women Univrsity students indicated the positive correlation between meaningfulness and good physical health. In conclusion, the result of the present study finds that there is a positive correlation between SOC and good health conditions. Although the sample size is small, it is noteworthy to mention that nursing school students have shown the tendency to search for the meaningfulness in Life
