Una parentela di lavoratori. Etnografia di un Comitato Aziendale Europeo (CAE) di Audi-Volkswagen in tempo di crisi

    No full text
In the frame of a three-years ethnographic research project in Auomobili Lamborghini car factory (Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy), this paper starts from a participant observation inside an important moment of the organizational system of VW Group (property owner of Lamborghini since 1998, under the holding Audi): the meeting of the Audi European Works Council (Ingolstadt, July 2018). The anthropological analysis includes a participant objectivation, finalized to enucleate the particular conditions of this unusual ethnography, and then it analyzes the shape of solidarity between workers, realized inside and around the meeting. Using the metaphor of kinship, it shows the lines of an international relativeness, supported by the institutional pillars and the values of the German mitbestimmung, that produces new shapes of cohesion and mutual exchange between plants and workers

Napoli allo specchio. Itinerari napoletani tra etnografia, letteratura e riflessioni antropologiche

    No full text
The present reflection is devoted to the relationship between ethnography and literature, in particular to the images of Naples in the words of writers, philosophers and anthropologists. The relationships and boundaries between these fields of interest have sometimes been difficult to draw, but in recent years the fruitful and mutual need for comparison has been recognized by the different - despite contiguous - horizons of each of these disciplines. The theme is: how is it possible to recognize and identify Naples, how can this city be defined, described, told and experienced by those who breathe its perennial and fascinating contradictions, both those who are overwhelmed and involved as external observers, or even foreigners? In terms of cultural anthropology, we are dealing with the relationship between emic and etic and the possibility of defining, through writing, useful materials to interpret the complexity of cultures in post-modernity

Stereotipi da vedere, amalgama artificioso e poliedrico di etnocentrismi vecchi e nuovi

    No full text
In this essay we analyze that stigmatization of the other, of the different that is realized through the production of visual and showy stereotypes and that therefore is articulated in the graphic, pictorial and sculptural sign. We are faced with a representation fed by a strategy of containment which, while visually materializing diversity at the same time despises and demonises it, fixes it, circumscribes it in graffiti, wall painting, statuary, fetish, puppet, toy and doll, and therefore in clay, stone, wood, iron, ivory, marble, even plastic, yesterday as today

Dal contadino al cittadino. Origini e percorsi dell’antropologia urbana in Ucraina

    No full text
The first part of the essay seeks to examine some research conducted during the nineteenth century, whose primary topics of study focused on the peasants and their homes. Such investigations can therefore be considered as the forerunners of Ukrainian urban anthropology. The attention to rural housing was also confirmed by numerous photos taken in the villages during the expeditions. In the Soviet era, while millions of peasants were moving to the cities, the scholars’ focus of attention was gradually shifting towards new concerns, namely urbanization and the new living contexts. At present, Ukrainian scholars, not only investigate the past to gain a full perspective over the impact of the Soviet urbanization on the Ukrainian society, but also tackle new themes including ecology, urban health, new urban languages and the migratory flows. The concept of the anthropology of cities is increasingly used in the scientific fields of Ukraine, being the metropolis a complex living organism in constant change
