Pengaruh Indikasi Geografis Warisan Budaya Tradisional dalam Konteks Keju Serrano di Brazil
ABSTRACTGeographical Indication (GI) is one of Trade-Related Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPs)’ working areas. Various products registered as Geographical Indication (GI) could be found in many developed countries because since 100 years ago, their farmers have respected the relation between traditional products and place where those products were originated. However, the same thing has not done by farmers in developing countries, thus only few of their traditional products which have been registered as GI to obtain legal protection. In fact, regarding of the developing countries’ geographic potentials, if they could realize the high economic value of products produced from such geographical potentials, they will be benefitted by the existence of GI. Theoretically, TRIPs is profitable if countries could maximize the role of TRIPs. TRIPs’ role is not only considered from how the legal protection of TRIPs could avoid losses caused by criminal act, but also from how TRIPs could add the value of those products to put them in the best prices. However, practically, the role of TRIPs is still controversial in developing countries because they are still upholding their traditional cultural values, while the intellectual property rights tend to be related with the use of modern technologies. One form of such controversies could be seen in the context of Serrano Cheese in Brazil, which shows how GI affects the traditional cultural heritage of indigenous people. Keywords: Geographical Indication, TRIPs, Serrano Chees

ABSTRACTThe main purpose of this paper is to explore further the dynamic and debatable relationshipbetween corporate social responsibility (CSR) and economic performance of a company byanalyzing the impact to company productivity or economic growth. Many previous studies inthis topic mostly use the manufacturing or machine based related industries. However, fordeveloping countries like Indonesia, hospitality or service based industries contributessignificantly to the nation’s economic development rather than other industries. Apparently, tourism industries have a slightly different mechanism compare to other industries in order tomake the business sustainab le and CSR plays a very important tool for its development. Bylooking first from some definition about CSR, the paper will then discover some long ongoingdebate over CSR impact and divided it into two majors which are profit maximization andhuman resour ces management. The case will be taken from increasingly growing tourismindustry in Indonesia which it has been considered as the best practice of CSR due to its highawareness to environmental and society issue. The paper later found out that despite thereluctance of some company to fully implement CSR and sign some codes of conducts forcertain humanitarian issues, there is positive impacts especially toward the accountability ofworkers. Also, the so called branding impact of CSR action will bring pote ntial sustainabilityto the company despite some critics to its genuine purpose by company. Keywords:CSR implementation, economic performance, company productivity, tourismindustr
Mencapai Ketahanan Pangan Indonesia Berkelanjutan
ABSTRACTProblems and challenges in achieving sustainable Indonesian food security are multi-dimensional including economic, social, political, and environmental aspects. Identification of those problems and challenges can be approached through food supply and demand analysis. From supply side, those challenges, among others, are a stiff competition in the use of natural resources, impacts of global climate change, and the dominance of smallscale farmers in food farming. From demand side, several challenges are the existence of high population growth and its dynamic characteristics, change in food consumers' preference, and competition in demand for food commodities as human consumption, feed, and energy uses. This paper aims to review current condition of Indonesian food security, to analyze challenges faced by this country, and to formulate policy alternatives in achieving sustainable Indonesian food security toward 2025. This analysis found out that in the last six years Indonesia was able to provide enough food to fulfill its people’s need, however quality of food consumption of an average Indonesian was under standard dietary pattern recommended by nutritionists. Challenges to achieve sustainable Indonesian food security toward 2025 will be more difficult. To response to the challenges, this article recommends some adjustment on policy direction of food security development, especially related to defining goals, choosing means and ways in achieving the goals, and setting targets of food security development. Keywords: sustainable food security, food demand and suplly dynamics, policy direction change

Ancaman Sampah Impor bagi Keamanan Manusia: Studi Kasus Desa Bangun dan Tropodo 2018-2019.
ABSTRACTThe National Sword Policy implemented by the Chinese Government in 2018 has a spillover effect in several countries in the Asian region, especially Indonesia. As one of the importers of recycled paper waste, Indonesia is faced with the problem of hazardous waste from abroad, which has increased by two percent in 2018. Besides, Indonesia also does not have good waste management, which exacerbates environmental damage and pollution. some of them were experienced by Bangun and Tropodo Villages in East Java. The level of environmental pollution in Bangun and Tropodo Villages is quite high as a result of being used as a final disposal site for paper raw material waste mixed with foreign waste and hazardous toxic materials. As a result, environmental crises continue to occur and affect the quality of life of the people. This study analyzes the correlation between environmental crises which is directly proportional to the increasing threat to human security. The environmental crisis due to imported waste can turn into a security threat issue through the securitization process carried out by NGOs and the government. The author uses the concept of human security and securitization theory to see the causality relationship. In the end, the state is not only faced with traditional security problems that are territorial but problems of individual human security. Indonesia was forced to change several waste import policies. Keywords: Imported Waste, Environmental Crisis, Securitization, Human Security. Indonesia terpaksa mengubah beberapa kebijakan impor sampah.Kata kunci: Sampah Impor, Krisis Lingkungan Hidup, Sekuritisasi, Keamanan Manusia. DOI : https://doi.org/10.33005/jgp.v8i02.241
