Psychometric Properties of the Intergroup-Intrasexual Competition Scale in Costa Rica
Two studies were conducted to provide evidence of construct validity of the Intergroup-Intrasexual Com-petition Scale, developed by Klavina, Buunk y Park (2009), among Costa Rican university students between 17 and 31 years old (204 students, 45.7 % female, in the first study and 335 students, 50.4 % female, in the second), measures of Intergroup Intrasexual Competi-tion were applied with other measures of psychosocial and evolutionary variables (Intrasexual Competition, Social Dominance Orientation, Sociosexual Orientation, Intergroup Contact, Inhibitory Control, Mate Value). Results of both studies showed that the scale can be considered as a measure of a one-dimension construct, correlating positively with measures of Intrasexual Competition, Sociosexual Orientation and Social Do-minance Orientation, and negatively with measures of Mate Value, Perceived Contact Quality and Inhibitory Control, as predicted by theory and previous empirical data. The utility of this measure in the study of human behavior from social and evolutionary psychology is discussed
Modeling the Effects of Attentional Cueing on Meditators
Training in meditation has been shown to affect functioning of several attentional subsystems, most prominently conflict monitoring, and to some extent orienting. These previous findings described the effects of cueing and manipulating stimulus congruency on response times and accuracies. However, changes in accuracy and response times can arise from several factors. Computational process models can be used to distinguish different factors underlying changes in accuracy and response times. When decomposed by means of the drift diffusion model, a general process model of decision making that has been widely used, both the congruency and cueing effects, is subserved by a change in decision thresholds. Meditators showed a modest overall increase in their decision threshold, which may reflect an ability to wait longer and collect more information before responding

ANALISIS FAKTOR YANG MEMPERANGURUHI KEPUASAN PASIEN BADAN PELAYANAN JAMINAN SOSIAL (BPJS) KESEHATAN PADA RUMAH SAKIT JABODETANG
This aims of this research to determine the effect of service quality on hospitals patient satisfaction in Jakarta. The specific objective is to determine the reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangible of the hospitals patients satisfaction. Research carried out on 125 patients admitted to hospital use BPJS. The analytical method used in this research is path analysis with SEM AMOS software.Based on the analysis of data it can be concluded reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangible have positive influence on hospital BPJS patient satisfaction. The advice could be given to hospitals to improve patient satisfaction is to improve the quality of services consisting reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and tangible. Implications for future research is to explore the service quality variables other than the variables that have been studied so that the resulting model is more fit and the determination coefficient is greater. Keywords: Quality of care, patient BPJ
Between tradition and innovation:developing Flood Risk Management Plans in the Netherlands
Traditionally, governmental authorities in the Netherlands have a strong focus on the construction and maintenance of flood defences, such as dikes and dams. The last decades, however, there has been a growing awareness of the importance of spatial planning for flood risk management. With the arrival of the Floods Directive (2007), it is likely that even more attention will be paid to sustainable spatial planning to reduce flood risks. From an institutional perspective, this paper explores the way in which the Netherlands is now attempting to further integrate water management and spatial planning in the preparation of its first Flood Risk Management Plans. The current internal policy debate centres around five important issues concerning the required measures, instruments, rules, governance styles and time perspectives. Maintaining its strong, engineering-based water management tradition, and at the same time institutionalising a framework for a more holistic flood risk management that comprises not only rules and regulations for probability reduction but also for impact reduction through sustainable spatial planning turns out to be a challenging task. The recently established national Delta Commissioner (2012) could be an important stimulus for the further integration and innovation of water management and spatial planning.</p
THE ROLE OF RESOURCE MISALLOCATION IN CROSS-COUNTRY DIFFERENCES IN MANUFACTURING PRODUCTIVITY
Misallocation of resources across firms leads to lower aggregate productivity. In this paper, we provide new estimates of manufacturing productivity differences across countries and establish by how much they would be reduced if such misallocation were eliminated. Using World Bank survey data for formal manufacturing firms in 52 low- and middle-income countries, we show that manufacturing productivity would increase by an average of 62 percent, but productivity gaps relative to the US would remain large. We also find that lower-income countries do not have more to gain from reducing misallocation as efficiency of resource allocation is uncorrelated with income levels
Witnessing in the New Memory Ecology:Memory Construction of the Syrian Conflict on YouTube
With the pervasiveness of mobile technologies, witnesses have the opportunity to mediate up-close and seemingly truthful recordings of events. As such, “witness videos” have become prominent in news reports and serve as authoritative resources in the construction of memory. However, once they are uploaded to video-sharing sites and popular archives such as YouTube, they are being reassembled and remixed by distinct actors, along the lines of their own ideological agendas. Focusing on the chemical attack on Ghouta, Syria, this article investigates how witness videos are represented by uploaders (ranging from established media to activists) and structured by the affordances and sociotechnical practices associated with the platform. Hence, we argue, although the future memory of the attack is constituted by witness videos, it is powerfully shaped by various actors, both human and nonhuman. These mechanisms of memory construction are empirically explored by qualitative and quantitative analyses of meta-data and (remixed) content
