Ideas, Vision, Values, Competitive Position & Product DevelopmentAbstract: Leadership is the exercise of those competencies, skills, knowledge, and behaviors which guide and motivate others to actively pursue their work toward accomplishing a set of goals or objectives, and, to work toward achieving the vision for their organization.  Leadership produces “group performance”.  The relative degree of the quality of the leadership demonstrated will result in a commensurate level of organizational performance.  To that end, therefore, great leadership produces outstanding resultsA vision is characteristically defined as a desired future state or picture of what the leader’s team or organization could become in some future timeframe.  A vision is different from a mission statement. Mission is about what the organization/team does, how it performs it work, to whom or for whom it does its work, and it represents the present function of the organization/team. A leader’s role is to define and articulate the vision for his/her organization/team and to help guide their efforts to work toward achieving the vision.

This article is based on a systematic review of educational interventions for consumers receiving psychotropic medication, review conducted by the New South Wales Centre for Evidence Based Healthcare. All studies included were randomized controlled trials (RCTs) however the method of randomisation was reported in only 10 studies and overall the methods were poorly reported. Fortyeight percent (10) of the studies involved patients with schizophrenia specifically, while the remaining studies included patients with various mental disorders. The effects of various approaches to education on the level and retention of knowledge about the illness (including signs and symptoms) and adverse effects of the treatment in mental health patients were investigated.Compliance with therapy, follow up and medication (pill counts, urinalysis and selfreports) was measured in 13 trials at intervals ranging from 2 weeks to 2 years. Five studies assessed the number of patients who relapsed, an outcome that was measured by the number of patients who were rehospitalised and/or required an increase in medication dosage. Incidence of relapse was measured at 6 months, 8 months, 12 months, 18 months and 2 years. Current evidence indicates that verbal information is less effective than written information in increasing knowledge and improving compliance. Clarity, brevity and repetition of the written educational materials is vital to acquiring information and increasing compliance. In addition, the use of audio-visual aids assists in the learning process. Patients who received behavioural interventions as a method of education had greater knowledge and were more compliant to their treatment compared to those who received verbal or written information. Multiple education sessions has been demonstrated to be beneficial; however, the cost implications of establishing multiple education sessions could be significant. This Best Practice Information Sheet is based upon a systematic review of research, literature suggesting that nurse-led clinics can be distinguished by certain characteristics or features related to their structure or function. The objective of the systematic review was to ascertain whether or not nurse-led clinics would be an effective adjunct for patients to supplement general practitioner advice and care.Nurse-led clinics also provide an opportunity for increased development of professional autonomy amongst nurse practitioners. These are reported to include a focus on health rather than illness and an emphasis on life management rather than diagnosis and intervention. There were mentioned six studies investigating interventions related to education, assessment and consultations or follow-up. The interventions measured across all studies were primarily related to advice giving, referral, education and models of primary health care delivery. Public health is recognised today as an integral part of the concept of sustainable development. This paper argues why the achievement of enhanced good and better health  within the population is  as an integral part of the sustainable development agenda at the global level, and  is one of the main priority areas of the European Sustainable Development Strategy. Special attention is paid to the new European public health strategy – in course to working out - to ensure broader understanding of the agenda and synergies through combining drivers for action in the light of one option like choosing health in all activities and in all policies as there is mentioned, at present, in international and EU sustainable development strategies. Keywords:  public health, sustainable development strategy, health determinants, risks factorsContent available only in Romania

Hospital is the focal point of the health care system. Within the hospital sector, emergency hospital is a major component, and we can provide statistical evidence useful for health planning policy by highlighting territorial particularities. The level of hospital utilization can be appreciated by measuring the activity, and also, the population accessibility to hospital care services can be indirectly estimated through measuring the solicited healthcare services by population. In Romania, the hospital system meet an older territorial layout, which largely covers the needs of population, but which should take into account the current Romanian context characterized by the need of a European standards harmonization and by regional development. Keywords: emergency hospital utilization, addressability to emergency healthcare services, territorial particularities.
